I said I was mostly done with video games. But just when I thought I was out, Witcher 3 pulls me back in.
Yeah. I'm still sitting up blurry eyed into the early hours of morning with that game (the in-game timer is bugged so I don't know how many hours I've clocked in by now, but I'm guessing I'm somewhere between 30 and 40). And I don't even think I'm half way through the main story line yet, and still with a lot of unexplored areas and witcher contracts left in the Velen region and the entire large Skellige region still untouched.
After I finish this game I'm going to take a few months off from the biggest and most addicting story based games.
Mostly I play racing games, online shooters or more linear story based games, all of which I usually feel inclined to play in short bursts, rather than something I get hooked on like a great novel and have to force myself to put down to get other things done.
I very rarely get sucked into a video game because I find most games boring as hell and uninteresting, but CD Projekt Red really hit it out of the park with this one.
Tons of compelling characters, good story, good game mechanics, atmosphere, etc. This is the medieval fantasy Game of Thrones wishes it could be.
To top it all off, the game managed to piss off SJWs and the developers told 'em to fuck off. It's nice having a game free of their stupid preachy weirdo bullshit.

How far in are you in the witcher ? I am bloody addicted. The story , the monsters. Combat feels alot better than I expected. I hate the armour models though. Starting armour looks the most badass while the rest kind looks meh

Why did Witcher 3 pop out of nowhere? I never even heard of the Witcher series until this one.
Kind of like how Far Cry 3 randomly jumped that series into the mainstream.

I got to Velen yesterday afternoon after doing everything I possibly could in White Orchard. So probably 15 hours or so?
And yeah, the beginning armor looks the best but I'm sure some of the mid to latter stuff is cool too.

You kids are making me want to get The Witcher 3....
I played some of the second one on 360 and it was pretty good but I managed to lose interested like 10 hours in. I feel like I should give it another whirl before I dive into the the new Witcher.
I didn't even hook up my Xbox one here in Colombia, just the 360 and I only used it to stream the rest of House of Cards. I'm headed to Romania in 5 days.. not sure if I will do any Xbox gaming there or not. I am excited for E3 next month though. There should be some big news dropping this year I think.

I'm looking forward to Cyberpunk 2077, also developed by CD Projekt Red.
I'd also buy a proper HD remake of Final Fantasy VII.
Anything that Dennaton Games makes in the future I'd buy as well.

Speaking of game of thrones. There is an easter egg with our favourite it lannister in the witcher. Not spoiling anything but I thought it was pretty good

To anyone who played Halo: The Master Chief Collection a month after it came out, Halo 3: ODST is now available for free download. Gonna definitely be playing this within the next couple weeks.

I came so hard while watching that. I am going to build a pc specifically to play that game, might as well start saving up. Does anyone here have any experience with building a PC?

Well, we don't know the requirements for Fallout 4, so I can't give you specifics, but I want to build a PC that can run it at maximum settings with mods. I have no budget, I will drop a grand if necessary. I needed to build a PC to run/record XCOM: Long War anyways, so I was expecting to be spending some money.

@honourableman I am gonna use the witcher3 as a benchmark. An i5 4670k should be good a good choice. I7 are mostly used if you are video editing. Your gonna get more for your money with an i5. But as you said we don't know the specs yet and the game could be cpu heavy.
Graphics card. I have a msi gtx 970 that I overclock a bit so I get same performance 980. The gtx equivalent is amd 290. Which is a bit more expensive last time I checked.
Ram. Don't do that much for graphicAl performance but more for how much stuff you can have on your screen and draw distance if remember correctly. But I think 8 or 12 gig would be the minimum for fallout 4
