@honourableman I am gonna use the witcher3 as a benchmark. An i5 4670k should be good a good choice. I7 are mostly used if you are video editing. Your gonna get more for your money with an i5. But as you said we don't know the specs yet and the game could be cpu heavy.

Graphics card. I have a msi gtx 970 that I overclock a bit so I get same performance 980. The gtx equivalent is amd 290. Which is a bit more expensive last time I checked.

Ram. Don't do that much for graphicAl performance but more for how much stuff you can have on your screen and draw distance if remember correctly. But I think 8 or 12 gig would be the minimum for fallout 4

Excellent. And The Witcher 3 is a good choice for benchmark, as I would like to finally play the entire series, as well as Cyberpunk 2077. So, can you give me an approximate amount as a goal for savings? I don't have a monitor or gaming keyboard/mouse either.

You probably want at least $1000-$1200 for a decent system that will last you a few years.

For $1500-1600 you could get an awesome system that would last you 4 or 5 years. $1200-1250 for the system and $300-350 for peripherals.

I think once the release date is revealed, I'll figure out how many weeks it will be until one full year after the game is released, and then I'll divide $1,600 by that number of weeks and have my credit union put that much into a savings account every week. That will make for a relatively painless addition to my budget and also give the modders enough time to fix Bethesda's game, as I'm sure it will be as buggy and flawed as every game they've ever made.

This is the store I got my two last systems at. Not sure what the american equivalent would be.

This is a good website if you want to look at systems.

Generally a system you build yourself is much better than a pre-built system you buy at place like Best Buy.

I like Samsung for monitors. 22" is generally the sweet spot. Any bigger and prices start to double or worse. I would get at least a 240 GB SSD. I got a smaller one when I got mine and I'm always having to free up space. I would stick to Intel for your Processor. I prefer Nvida for the Graphics Card. I also like the bigger gaming cases so you have plenty of air flow and extra fans. Make sure you get some Compressed air and clean the dust out of your computer once a month.

@honorableman
My system cost me around 1500 .
I5 4670k you might wanna replace the stock fan it's quite bad. During my games it got to around 67 degrees.

msi gtx 970 it's very good and you get alot with your money but it's a has a common problem I keep hearing alot about and have experience myself . Coilwhine which is basically the fan making aN annoying sound. Kind of sounds like a cat dying.

12 gig ram
These are the essentials. The chassi i thought wasn't a big deal. Turns out it is when it comes to airflow. Heating is a tricky thing.
You can always pirate the OS and then activating it using dasz loader. TheN maybe buy the an upgraded os later on

Oh I forgot. Motherboards don't really have much of a impact on performance. You should think about motherboardsome when it comes to if wanna have 2 graphics card's or more ram. When it comes to psu you first check the minimum watt requirement for your graphics card. So you put more juice into it

Finally picked up South Park: The Stick of Truth on PS3. Despite some frame rate hiccups the game is absolutely amazing. Everything is fully voice acted and feels as if you're immersing yourself into episodes of the show. It adopts gameplay elements from the Paper Mario battle system and I can even see it appealing to non-rpg fans.

It's the South Park game fans have always wanted. It's a shame it took over a decade. Remember the awful self-titled release, along with Chef's Luv Shack and South Park Rally? Yikes.

Just tried out 'Hatred' for about 5-10 minutes. It's kind of boring really, and it's not even very graphic compared to past games (like postal2, manhunt, etc.). 1994's Doom is gorier graphics aside.
It's in black and white, except for the blood and police lights. All you do so far is kill. In the little I played, you kill party patrons, and kill everyone in a police station.
Not really sure if I will play more, so far it's basic ass gameplay, and seems like it could get real stale real fast.

I didn't buy it, just did a quick torrent to see what all the fuss was about.

Heck, 'Stranded Deep' is funner, and that's just doing Tom Hanks shit on islands in the ocean.

My computer isn't that great, and it ran fine. radeon 4870, amd b35 processor@ 2.9ghz, 8gb ram.
I have an old nvidia 9800+ gtx that i fixed by baking in the oven, might put that in so I can put all the physx processing onto it, instead of it all being shoved onto my cpu.

One thing I liked in the game was how everything was destructible.

The Witcher series is currently on sale on steam.

The Witcher is $1.49 and The Witcher 2 is $2.99. No reason not to buy them for that cheap if you have any interest at all.

Bethesda was on point tonight. Very little bullshit, and kept it coming with gameplay.

Fallout 4 looks fantastic.

Yes, my jaw dropped when it cut right before the Big Fucking Gun fired. I will definitely give it a try.

The only things I really play are fighting games to blow Steam though I have been enjoying playing Pokemon on the 3ds I got as a present from an ex to play with my little brothers. I'm a Tekken fanboy but I play Ultra Street Fighter IV and have the new Mortal Kombat which is phenomenal(Kano is easily one of my favorite characters in any game).

Other than that Crusader Kings II because nothing is more exciting than building an Empire in Medieval Europe, boning the French/English/Germans as the equivalent of Austria-Hungary(fuck you history), and murdering your gay Uncle(as well as just about anyone else you don't like) while stealing his land. Highly recommend. 10/10 best empire builder and dynasty destroyer ever. Just read the steam reviews and I can even play it on my shit tier $200 laptop.
