Anyone watch Game of Thrones?

Very good episode this week, aside from the very beginning. Bit of a weird note to end on though. They've changed to change a lot from the book, but it's working really well.

Keyser - that's one of the bits that stood out to me too. Especially the 'you bet' look Bronn gives.

Bronn is 3x more bad ass in the books, it's too bad he doesn't get more screen time.

Anyone thinks that Jon Snow is acting significantly more Beta here than he did in the books? And Yggritte sometimes reminds me of a modern 21st century american feminist... it's a bit too much sexual liberation even for a wildling.

Don't know he's vert beta in the books. I find that plotline grating, his constant doubt is not very subtly rendered. Only the Sam Tarly one annoys me more (I'm half way through book three).

As for Ygritte keep in mind they can give abortions so slutting around shouldn't have too many consequences and she's a warrior to boot. Only thing that's unrealistic is that a woman like that would look as attractive as she does in the show!

I really enjoyed the first season but stopped watching the second season a couple of episodes ago. I just thought it became way too complex and there were too many characters and subplots to keep straight, it became kind of annoying. It does have top notch acting and writing though, so I can totally understand why people love it, especially if you like fantasy.

Theon is a fool, but I don't think he killed the Stark kid. I haven't read the books, but I am guessing that he just killed two other random kids and made it appear as if he did to keep order. I guess we will find out next week. The last two episodes were great - I got tired of the slow buildup of the first couple episodes of the season. I am not a big fan of the uber-masculine behavior of the red headed wildling girl with John Snow, although his pulling away caused her to try to fuck him multiple times.

Hollywood really tries to push feminism in every show - including Game of Thrones. Arya the tomboy, both wildling girls, the mother of dragons, the giant female knight besting the men, Theon's sister, lady Stark's sister, and arguably the queen. It seems like the only girls in the show that display more feminine than masculine traits are lady Stark (motherly nurturing qualities mainly), Sansa, and the whores - and that is to say nothing of all the homosexuality and incest. The show is a cesspool of feminism, homosexuality and perversion really.

In fact my sister who is a fan of the show got into a big argument with me when she said that she loved the "strong female characters" and I told her that is a feminist talking point. Despite how much we all like the show, I can't believe you haven't picked up on this Roosh. The show would be better if not for how blatant these things come off. I know it has grated my nerves.

Even though I consider John Snow to be alpha, i.e. he does what he knows is right despite the consequences, isn't afraid to leave the herd and do his own thing, is a fighter, stands up for the weak and innocent, I think we could coin a new term for all those virgins lost in the wilderness out there: John Snows (rhymes with John Does).

example:
Roosh really needs to sell some more books to all those John Snows out there, poor bastards.

Characters evolve a lot in the GoT books. So don't be so quick to throw around labels like alpha/beta or you might have to revise them later. If anything the storyline is unpredictable.

I will agree though that the homosexuality which is only hinted at in the books has become very overt in the series.

Go to http://www.kat.ph and look for the ettv torrents. An episode takes around 15-20 minutes to download and quality is great. Finally got my internet at home yesterday and ripped down the first 7 episodes of season 2. Got through the first 3 lat night and doing the next 4 tonight

I think that's the most likely explanation, but who knows, there have been some surprises already.

Yes there was also the attempted rape scene, no surprise to see how that ended up.

Yeah, talk about entitled. Bitch has no allies, no real power, only two baby dragons, and expects everyone to line up to serve her.

You can't really assign labels of alpha or beta to characters in fictional books and movies. Many times, the an individual character will embody traits that are both alpha and extreme beta.

You can't really be an Alpha and a lonely masturbating virgin at the same time.

hahahaha. i got my main girl into this show and she texted me all upset that khal drogo died and glad that Viserys Targaryen was killed. More proof girls love the alpha/dominant guy and despise the whiny beta

i also find it funny how people call Daenerys Targaryen a strong woman when all she does is demand. becoming more and more like her brother who everyone hated. a strong man is seen in ned stark or khal drogo and they are determined strong for their assertiveness and skill as a leader not their ability to whine and be entitled.

This is nothing compared to Spartacus. Game of Thrones is downright masculinist when compared to that show. It doesn't even come close to pushing the agenda as hard as Hollywood is capable of doing.

I'll add Californication to that list as well.

Are the books hard to read? I'm not used to too many subplots and characters and prefer simpler tales revolving around one protagonist.

I just finished watching the first season, and frankly I was blown away. If you're a guy who likes history, war, and politics, this show is like porn to you. Can't wait for the second season.

Well.. yes there are a ton of characters and a few subplots revolving around each other. But you really start to see almost immediately how intertwined the subplots are, and when they start converging.... well that's when your balls REALLY start tingling.
