Anyone watch Game of Thrones?

If earlier seasons were written in the same style as later seasons. Example #1:

*Ned comes out of the brothel with Littlefinger*

*instead of Jaime and his henchmen surprising them out of nowhere to confront Ned about Tyrion's abduction, we get Joffrey walking up to both of them, alone, with the sword Lion's Tooth in his hands, reclaimed from the river in which Arya threw it*

Joffrey: "I didn't know Starks had such low IQ. Let me help you conclude this investigation, Ned. Here is the answer you're looking for... Jaime Lannister, the Kingslayer, is my REAL father. Did you really think someone as great as me could come from the same family as that fat friend of yours and his idiot fanatic brother, Stannis?"

Littlefinger: "well well well, looks like we have a fight on our hands! My bet is on the bigger guy."

*Joffrey attacks and we assume Ned will easily disarm him like Arya did*

*lo and behold, Joffrey fights like a master swordsman, a true subversion of expectations like Ramsay's 20 Good Men feat and Euron noscoping Rhaegal"

*Ned gets disarmed and is in shock*

Joffrey: "Surprised, Stark? This is the same sword your daughter threw in the river. I spared her the humiliation I just gave you, because we don't hurt little girls in Westeros under my kingship. But you know what they say in Essos? Valar morghulis. All men must die. You'll be joining her butcher boy friend who paid the iron price."

*knocks out Ned with the pommel of Lion's Tooth*

*Ned wakes up to Robert staring at him in disbelief*

*Ned tries to tell Robert the truth about his 'children' but Robert just points and laughs at the man who got humiliated by a spoiled teenager, saying that Ned is just butthurt about Joffrey utterly trouncing him*

*Ned starts to seethe with anger in his humiliation, and in his rage pulls out the Valyrian steel knife and stabs Robert in the eye, which means Ned is now a Kingslayer"

*Ned goes through a "oh my god, what have I done" psychological breakdown, he tries to hide the body but Bobby B is too heavy to move around*

*Littlefinger walks in while Ned is weeping over Bobby B's corpse. This scene is similar in nature to Brienne stumbling across Stannis slumped against a tree, and Job confronting Daenerys in the destroyed throne room*

Littlefinger: "This Robb meant so much to you, hasn't he? He means as much to you as the other Robb, your wife's son."

Ned: "My wife's son?"

Littlefinger: "and mine."

*Ned takes thirty seconds to figure it out, then starts weeping hysterically*

Littlefinger: "Funny, when I was young, I found myself in a similar situation to this. Except the roles were reversed, and it was a real man, Brandon, who I was at the mercy of...but it was I who layed with Catelyn while you were off fighting against the Khaleesi's uncle."

Ned: "FUCK!!! YOU!!!"

Littlefinger: "and do you want to know who else I've lain with?"

Ned: *seethes*

Littlefinger: "Your sister"

*executes Ned in the same way Brandon could've executed Littlefinger*

Peter Dinklage is by far the best and most distinguished actor on that show.

Pitch meeting:

This is amazing - the last 75 minute episode had 57 minutes without dialogue - so exactly what those Bozos waltz about as the greatest achievement.

Those fucktards thought that they were some Akira Kurosawas while Akira was a genius of his craft - plus it was made for a different audience and these were movies, not a TV series in order to wrap up the story. But yeah - plenty of time to focus on chairs being shuffled.

Used to be, until about season 4.

Charles Dance also had a very prominent presence. I'll miss Tywin.

Heh... That's interesting. Though it would be good to know what the average dialogue to non-dialogue has been throughout. Surely not more than that episode, but still pretty high i suspect, especially in the latter seasons.

The show died with Tywin IMHO.

Watch this and marvel at the vast chasm of quality between it and the later episodes...

So the takeaway here is that they want to suppress the speech of someone differently-abled in order to elevate able-normative cis-gendered white women?

Literally shaking right now.

Crazy that Lord Varys didn't have more lines.

Let's not forget the REAL hero of the story - the man who takes no shit and is the closest thing to a positive male role model, in the show and in real life:

Does he lift? Yes he does!!!

Well, that's the power of good acting - he manages to be very memorable without blabbering on and on.

Yet another proof that our main problem is that we have it too good. A healthy society would have actual stuff to do and no time or money to waste on complete bullshit like this.

Actually fiction, stories of heros - they were part of all advanced cultures. The greeks were conquering the world and still were listening to stories of near-immortal warriors and beautiful princesses.

A healthy society encompasses all aspects, but I still think that a healthy society has most of the fiction inspirational.

A good example is the Manga vs Comics sales in the US - for the first time in history manga is more successful than comics by far. And most of it is created in Japan - reason is because they still have real heroes available who fight for justice. I repeat - a culture that is all nihilistic and their fiction is mostly decunstrictivist while the constructive one was made up until the 1990s - that culture is not going to survive.

The Mountain - the rapist and slaughterer of babies is no role model in the show. The show destroyed all role models or made them out to be ridiculous and even less realistic than a fire-breathing dragon.

If you want to see inspiring fiction, then you need to look East or even to Eastern Europe - they are still free enough and not beset by (((anti-Western creators))) or propaganda-driven underlings.

And until the West shakes off the self-hating, then this crap will continue until the total collapse. The ending of this show is just symptomatic of this very development.
Ultimately that is why it feels so empty - even to the feminists. I would even say that the SJW women would be fine with Aegon Targaeryan climbing on the dragon and burning half the Unsullied. They would have screamed publicly and then flicked their bean to pics of the actor afterwards. Especially if he had done this shirtless as the dragon had burned most of his clothes away.

But this ending - all the stupid happy-go-lucky fan-service in the end was not enough, because the fundamental principles are broken just as the core audience in the US shuns Marvel comics while buying the shit out of Japanese manga - all while the manga is patriarchal, male-dominated, hetero-normative with sexy women and brave and powerful male heroes. There is even room for a few decunstrictivist heroes, but they exist wihin a sea of positive ones.

Re: female characters speaking: if they'd made it more realistic then the women would say 80% of the lines but they'd all still be stuck in their original settings because it would be "OMG I heard that Cersei is a total slut!" "OMG Becky I swear Dany has put on 5lbs since Drogo died", and Jorah Mormont would have been locked up by Dany in Season 1 for 'stare-rape' while "creepy, eww as if!".

But yeah, what a shit-show. The whole thing struck me as when I used to procrastinate about essays and reports back at university, leave it until the 11th hour and then realise "Shit, I've got too way much to do", followed by a quick fudge despite knowing that the work was shit, but at least it was done and tomorrow's another day.

I didn't get paid millions of dollars to do it, mind. It was viewed as a Bad Thing to be avoided...not a career choice.

There's nothing wrong with heroic stories and mythology.

But the problem right now is our culture is being saturated with fantasy and superhero crap, driving a large segment of the population into a child-like stupor. I don't really care if they are "Red Pill" or not. These stories have their place, but they are very simplistic and highly predictable. There isn't much life philosophy to be gained from a Marvel or Batman movie.

One thing I'm doing to wean myself off this nonsense is going back to classical literature and foreign films, which are both highly inspiring.

Or we could just look at our own traditions of inspiring fiction like Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Jack London, Charles Dickens, and so on. For some reason, those authors were able to transmit life-affirming messages without resorting to stories about men dressed in capes flying around and destroying cities.

Man that was a good watch. Tywin Lannister was easily my favorite character. If you've read the books, you'll see that Charles Dance portrayed that character perfectly. Superb.

Also in that video there's lots of scenes between Tywin and Tyrion. Just seeing that makes you realize how much Tyrion's character has gone to shit these last few seasons. It's like night and day.
