I agree with some of what one-two is saying, especially about girls wanting a man who is nice and doesn't beat them or get drunk every night.

But disagree being an American is a distinct advantage, Turks do well here because Ukrainian girls holiday in Turkey a lot, and love the attention they get from the men there. Also Turkey is a lot closer to Ukraine than America is. There are a reasonable percentage of the girls here that wont go with a Turk or an Arab though for racial reasons.

1-2, you must have been away from L-viv for a while because I see blacks and Asians on a daily basis. A lot of African dudes come here to study medicine because it's a lot cheaper than in Africa.

this is what I've heard as well, I've been pipelining and so many of the girls have profile headers that say no Turks, I asked one once and she had to preface her comments by saying i'm not racist but turks are dirty and shameless but she didn't say she had a bad experience herself it's what she's heard from others so if enough of them are passing it around there has to be something to it.

A general question to people who have been: what is the difference between girls in East v West Ukraine? Is it the same dynamic as in Belarus or is the difference in attitude less marked?

There is great difference.Western Ukrainian girls have many polish girls features.For example:
1.Most western Ukrainian girls view you as future groom.Most eastern Ukrainian girls view you as future sponsor.
2.Western Ukrainian girls try to minimize expenses and do not ask for presents etc.Eastern Ukrainian girls try to maximize expenses(they like expensive resturants,cafes etc).
3.The rest is close they are both moody,temperamental etc.The general difference is that western Ukrainians are more honest than easten Ukrainians and have less Soviet mentality and more central European mentality(Austrohungarian influence).Western Ukraine is part of the civilized europeanized zone and looks like decadent Poland.

Lviv of course.The problem is that in one month you become known so I would visit Lutsk,Rovno,Khmelnitski,Kamenec Podolski from time to time and of course Kiev.

My Ukrainian friends from Kiev always describe East side as more closed in terms of mentality, West is more opened, closer to European standards. Thats because western Ukraine is much poorer than eastern ukraine and tbh the expensive palces are lacking there. Estern Ukraine is where the money is and the girls ear mmore also. So its logical to assume they spend more and keeping up with the jones costs more there. I do not take it to mean anything more. Yo uare right about west being more ukrainian ,though most of the larger cities tend t o have large Russian ukrainian population. The people wh oact more ethnic ukrainian tend to be village girls. My wife is from a mid side western ukrainian city ,ivano fransksk, she is politically Russian. Lviv is probly the only large city that leans ukrainian. When i lived in kiev 10 years ago it was Russian centric ,but that idiot president they had in 2005 might have changed that. I still say kiev is more russian since the majority of people coming to live there are fro mthe east, where the majority of the population is and also the msot skilled .The ukrainian centri c from the west also go to study there .Basically everyone is ukrainian its just a matter of wh othey side with. but make no mistake , the people wh o talk ukrainian have always been consided VILLAGE people from the majority of eastern ukraine , odessa and kiev as well.Also cities like vinnitsa and Rovno might be more russian centric though i nwest cause of the large military bases in the area.

Duke,the age old question but can I ask you what budget you need to live comfortably in Kharkiv ( eat out most days,clubs on weekends,rent a small place,social activities )? Would 1000 Euros a month cut it or would 1500 be more realistic?

khharkiv is known for havign alot of students. the biggest unerversities are there and girls dress nicer 9sluttier0 than west9lviv),However English will be minority to the extreme. The % of english speakers will probly be less than lviv. Lviv always had alot of english speakers due to the peoples closeness to the rest of europe. Mind you when i say alot, i mean more than other cities. Its stil la minority .First in english ability will be Kiev tha nprobly Odessa. But Odessans know alot of languages, more worldly ,but also not at all impressed by foreigners .Heck the city was ruled by the french, built by the german and poles ,and waterworks made by the british.So in Odessa they will think of you in terms of how much money and presents you ca ngive them.
SO yeah id say a city with poor students can be great. just have to speak better russian is all. The good thing is its the 2nd largest city so even if small % of speakers , there can still be alot of girls speaking english.

My official position remains Ukraine is a Giant Unsanitary Refrigerator ( therefore the acronym GURU) . Everyone is much better off learning feminist theory and catering to the special needs of the elite and refined American Woman.

At the moment, Kharkiv is not a refrigerator (weather has been quite nice the past few days) and yes a bit unsanitary but hey it's nothing like India! Being summertime, the city is quiet. I'm expecting an influx of students in the next couple weeks.

Greek's numbers are pretty accurate. If you want to live in a nice apartment near Pushkinskaya street, you might pay $600 USD a month. A meal at Starograd, my favorite restaurant in town is about $15 per person. 1000 euros a month should be enough to live comfortably.

Yes, English is a challenge in this city, but if you open girls with "English?" you will be able to find girls interested in meeting you.

I have been to Lviv, the quality is probably the lowest in the whole of Ukraine, and the girls are rather conservative and boring, nightlife is terrible, no decent restaurants etc. No reason to spend any time there

I am talking about restaurant dates in province.Restaurant dates in Kiev will cost 50 euro.
Lvov is very good option provided you are good in street game,you speak some Russian etc.Generally it is like soft Poland.The hot polish girls you cannot have in Poland are the western Ukrainian girls you can get in Lvov.
