Zinc has made me a better man.

I'm starting this zinc supplement trail. 150mg a day right before bed. three pills
haven't noticed to much in the last 3 days.
im only getting about 5 to 6 barely 7 at the most hours of sleep a night.
this is because of 530 military training 3 days a week and rugby practices 3 days a week. plus a full school course load
I'll give this 2 weeks before i report anything worthwhile.
does anyone have any basic advice?
Maybe it's better to take these in the morning.
i took them once during the day and had a slight stomach ache but i don't know if that was a placebo effect or an actual side effect.
by the way. I'm about 155 to 160 lbs
I am the cock carousel

I started this today & I am already seeing results (this is from someone who eats healthy, lifts, & rarely drinks).
I think my workout splits (along with my intensity) really depleted my zinc levels.

I just received my zinc taste test kit. One is supposed to hold the aqueous zinc solution in the mouth for 10 to 30 seconds and then spit it out. The quicker the metallic taste manifests in the mouth, the higher one's zinc levels are.
The taste is supposed to be very unpleasant akin to taste of hydrogen peroxide (this I know from when gargling the food grade Hydrogen Peroxide doing the Roosh mouthwash test).
After 30 seconds when I spat the zinc solution out in the sink, I tasted a very slight metallic taste. This confirms what I suspected, my zinc levels are quite low.
I am able to consume my zinc taste solution so I can take up to 4 teaspoons daily until I am able to taste the zinc.
I will do this and report back re-doing the ZTT (Zinc Taste Test) in about a week's time.
P.S. Regarding testing, an article I read claims that most of the zinc levels are stored intracellular (in the body) and only about 15 percent MAX is on a plasma level (in the spit/saliva) which indicates that the zinc taste test is not necessarily an accurate method of testing overall body zinc levels.
However I think it's a reasonable method of rough assessment since I had this done at two seperate naturopaths in Toronto.

I think L-opti zinc is better than zinc picolinate because L-opti zinc has copper. You don't want to have copper deficiency due to zinc megadose.

Damn. I ordered Source Naturals Optizinc Zinc Monomethionine 30mg...
I got it because it has copper also.

All I can find round here is tablets, not liquid or capsules. Is there much difference?

I just got back from completing my workout. Needless to say I made couple of new PR with my new prymaiding split. I went through it w/o feeling fatigued.
FYI:
If you are doing a mega dose of this stuff you have to increase your water intake accordingly. When I upped my intake from 75mg total to 225mg I found myself pissing more. Also, when I was at the gym I did feel slight nausea but that was cured by drinking more water. If you are feeling nausea drink more water. I honestly wouldnt do a mega dose for more than 10 days (I'm going to do it for a week then taper down to 125mg daily).

@Arkitekt be careful you don't take too much vitamin A. It's a fat soluble vitamin and can be dangerous.

I started taking zinc to improve sleep quality. My tablets are 15mg each and on the bottle it says not to take more than one a day. Obviously this is the supplement company covering their asses but I'm curious about the potential risks of taking 150 - 300mg per day.

Two weeks in of taking 200mg zinc, 4000ui of vitamin D and 2000mg vitamin C daily (taken throughout the day, 50mg/1000ui/500mg x4). I also started hitting failure on my stronglifts program regularly, so there's a few things at play here. Definitely feel an increase of confidence, entitlement, focus, taking chances and zero fear of criticism - aka NGAF.
Opened a cashier direct at the grocery store yesterday, I wasn't even planning on it, I just did, reflexive. Her co-workers were onlooking disapproving of me (I'm 30, she's 20), she rejected. Didn't bother me one bit, just went on with my day, felt like usual business, zero AA or care what those nearby thought. It felt so normal to open her, I had a mindset of "it's my world that I'm creating", not caring what others think, even the girl I tried to close.
Can't say 100% it's the tabs, maybe it's the lifts, maybe it's both. Definitely noticing something though. Going to let the tabs run out and cut off, two weeks left, to see if anything changes while maintaining stronglifts.

Anybody taking zinc and having trouble sleeping? It's almost 4am as I type this. I fell asleep I think just before 11:30 and woke up at 3. Thing is I feel like I slept about 2 hours more than I actually did.
I'm shocked that I have so much mental clarity, and I'm actually ready to hit the gym.
I've only been taking about 120 mg of zinc - a dose in the morning and one at night shortly before bed. I've also been eating 3 brazilian nuts in the a.m. and 3 more at night.

Started taking l opti zinc. First few pills made me nauseous. Nothing to report since i just started, however I do have a random observation:
Yesterday I took my regular supplements of creatine, just started stacking beta alanine, protein, and zinc.
I heard zinc decreases your alcohol tolerance. Well, I went out with some friends last night, promised myself I'd keep it to one or two drinks. I wound up having 7 or 8 which is a lot for me, normally I'd be drunk.
I was totally fine, I felt completely clear and in control. I was definitely buzzed but I'm a lightweight these days and 7 or 8 drinks would get be trashed. I'm not sure which of the supplements it was but it greatly INCREASED my alcohol tolerance for sure.

I'm feeling great. doing 50mg in the AM and 50mg in the PM.
Energy levels and mental clarity increased.
Desire to eat healthier for some reason.
Also noticed more women are noticing me.
Sleep is SUCH better too. high quality deep sleep. I get tired earlier though for some reason but I usually stay out late anyway.
