Most of the SP proper pickup information has been covered: Augusta, Paulista, some parks, Vila Olimpia, Itaim Bibi, private events, etc.

There was nothing here about weekend trips, surrounding areas, greater São Paulo, mountains, the beaches.

You've got to remember most people reading this thread are foreigners with zero perspective or knowledge on Brazil. Knowing this stuff in advance would have helped me plan my trip. Where to spend my time on a limited 3 month visa, options for dates, weekend trips, etc.

Essentially I'd recommend one month for São Paulo and Rio. About a month traveling in between along the mountains and coast.

I'm sorry you find it polluting. Maybe it seems irrelevant to you as a local who has been to all these places and knows absolutely everything.

If you're visiting São Paulo and Rio consider adding a road trip along the coast. It is supposed to be one of the prettiest drives in the world. Most people fly from one city to the other but if you have the time consider making the drive.

There are several beach towns to stop in. The names that people kept telling me in SP were Ubatuba and Paraty. Also Trindade is supposed to be more hippy.

The Serra do Mar (coastal range) come down to the sea so there's also good coves and hiking. Everyone told me the more interesting/beautiful section is between São Sebastio and Rio. So I'm planning to spend a few weeks or so there. Skipping over the first section between Santos and São Sebastio.

Santos is the port of SP. It deserves a few days. It's a good place to start and get your bearings. You can do the old downtown as a day trip from SP. The Ultra and Cometa buses drop you off right in old downtown. Then you just walk everywhere and take the trolley loop.

I previously used Jabaquara bus station at end of line one. Later staying with a girl in ABC suburbs I found you can also catch buses here from Joao Setti Rodovario in Sao Bernardo do Campos. They all terminate in the one station of old downtown Santos.

For the rest Santos make a weekend of it. It was surprisingly romantic. The town has even has some canals. Taking a girl here from SP would ensure a bang.

Santos beach is on the south bay side while all the ugly industrial port stuff is on the narrow estuary that runs along the north. So stay along the beach.

The old downtown is also on the north side. While there are some attractions there you don't want to stay there after dark. It's pretty run down.

The beach isn't as pristine as further down the coast but it's huge. Stretches for 5 km or so along the whole length of the bay. The nicest section is supposedly mid beach around Praia do Boqueirao. A strip of park buffers the beach from street. If your hotel rents bikes you can tear this strip up and stop off for breaks at the numerous cafes they dot it.

I stayed further up near the zoo (small not worth it) at Rold's Hostel. Dorm is $15/night. Lots of Pousadas around this beach zone for maybe $60/night, surprisingly expensive. The light rail runs through this area and can be useful for crossing the island. I used it once.

The hostel was empty except for two Brazilian guys who seemed to be working in a santos. The women owner spoke great English and with good breakfast. Maybe more going on in summer. Looks like they rent surfboards.

The water was calm my first day but picked up second day with some great breaks due to wind. All the locals were out on their boards. Not sure you can depend on surf here but not too far away are dependable breaks.

São Vicente is another town on the north side of the mountain. It's also the actual name for the island. The view from the SV Teleferico is sick. I went up for sunset and snapped great views of the entire 5km of beach. Everyone I sent it to thought it was Rio.

Matched with a couple dozen tinder girls who were mostly available weekends only. Some decent bur nothing standout. A few porkers offered to come right over on a weeknight.

Walking around sightseeing for a day and a half I didn't see any legal age girls worth approaching. I'm sure in season and weekends the beach will be packed. It was oddly empty (but it is winter now).

The Aquarium is cheap but nothing special. I hit a bunch of maritime and port museums but nothing special. You can ferry over to Guaruja and hit some more secluded beaches. The surf spots are there too.

On my last day I hitchhiked a short distance to Ilha Porchat in SV. It has a nice viewpoint overlooking the coastline.

The two ladies whom picked me up were older and start clapping. She is real happy shouting something like mea casa, mea fila.

She takes me to her house which has a sick view of the shipping channel. Introduces me to her daughter a 20 yo flight attendant with a banging body, then brings out coffee while we chat and take in the view. Is this heaven?

Of course I escalate but mom keeps popping in and sitting down (I'm guessing to keep me honest) which was a bit awkward. Last time she popped in my one hand is sandwiched between the young ones thighs and the other is taking her hair off the ear. Suddenly they have to go to the market.

I'm running late now and missed my bus. A girl from SP is waiting for me at the bus station. I get her contact info and they ride me up to viewpoint. We're texting about meeting up further down the coast.

Weirdest pickup. A mom hooking me (total stranger foreigner OFF THE STREET) up with her young daughter AT HOME? Yes please!

I'm on the bus to Ilhabela. My SP girl went ahead and has been waiting at the bus station. The wind has canceled the São Sebastio ferry all day. Guidebook warned Friday afternoons and Sunday going back the waits get very long. Can't imagine what the wait is going to be like now. Normally the ride is only 15 min and the ferry runs 24/7 (free for pedestrians).

From what I've read, the island has hundreds of waterfalls. I'm hoping the rain today and tomorrow will get them surging (now dry season). I've got a few hikes and cove beaches in mind but would appreciate suggestions: beaches, peaks, waterfalls.

Might stay a few days on my own after girl goes back to São Paulo. Prices for the weekend jumped pretty high. She let me stay in her place several days, even took some time off to take care of me while I was recovering from flu. Also offered to pay for the hotel on the island so I figured why not.

It's supposed to be the sailing capital of Brazil. Lots of rich elites running around? Maybe like the Hamptons? Me likey.

Spent the weekend here on Ilhabela. I'd definitely recommend at least a weekend trip from Sao Paulo. This island is amazing and should not be missed.

The two neighborhoods to stay in are Pereque and Vila. Both have a hostel with private rooms.

Winter is the low season. This makes it hard to get boats to isolated beaches: Foame (north island) or Bonete (south island).

The main day trip is a jeep tour on the 4x4 road to Praia Castelhanos. It's too far to hike in a day. I coudn't find a motorbike nor car for rent anywhere on the island.

At Praia Castelhanos you can hike to the south to Cachoiera (waterfall) da Gato. The stopover before going driving back gives you just enough time to do this so don't fuck around. My girl got scared crossing one foot of water where the slough meets the beach. I had to leave her. You can cool off in the waterfall if you are quick.

A good option for your second day is Cachoeira da Paqueta. It's not one of the official 7-8 trails, but popular enough a taxi driver can take you there. From Pereque about $R50. Don't stop at the main falls. Hike up to the top and you can see the ocean strait and bathe in a pool right at the edge. Just be careful my girl lost her cellphone and almost died.

Most of the upper class girls I met in Sao Paulo came here at least once when they were kids. It was fairly easy to get her to meet me here. She also had a recent death in the family so I think wanted to get away from everything for a few days. I missed her in Santos. When she found me at the ferry I was chatting up some local girls in English and getting island tips. She tried giving me attitude and even some silent treatment but I was able to cocky-funny and get her smiling. It's a pretty romantic island. I can't imagine a girl coming here and not giving you the bang. I'd definitely bring a girl unless you're here in summer.

Overall great weekend. She pretty much paid for everything. She did manage to fucked up almost every outlet in the room. First with a curling iron, then hair dryer. Then she figured she'd give my plug adapter a try and busted it too. Facepalm! I stayed with several days before this trip. We had a running joke on her doing clumsy shit in the kitchen and around the house...

Later at the waterfall I was calling her up the last summit. She's laying in the sun ignoring me. I'm shouting "Mirante Mar. Bela Vista". She flips me off. I'm thinking fuck this chick.

Finally got her up. When she sees the ocean she realizes she was being a bitchy Paulista. She makes a couple long translations about how she's sorry but Americans are crazy and her heart can't take it. I'd lost one of my sandals in the lower falls, but refused to let it go. Slapped her hand off my shirt and slid down the cascades after it. Got it.

So she says lets relax. I'm joking like OK let's do yoga. I hop over the cascades and start doing mocking yoga positions (most involve some variation of a humping motion). She starts taking selfies and twirling around. She walks backwards into an algae patch, slips, and starts tumbling down the cascades. I fired my phone into the nearby vegetation and hauled ass down after her. She's rolling over like a little kid on a hill. She goes into the last cascade and pool just before I hop over it an grab her by one hand. A few feet from the edge.

I drag her out and we're sitting there stunned and catching our breath. A couple pops over the top and looks at us with out legs still in the pool. They're like oh great idea. The girl strips to her bikini and gets in. She's walking right along the edge like it's nothing snapping pics. I'm like WTF just happened? I look at my girl who looks back at me and bursts into tears. Then starts shivering and going into shock. I get her wet clothes off and wrap a towel around her.

She took the loss of her phone surprisingly well. Saving her life made her fall solidly into my frame. She was like OK I'm gonna shut up and just go along with whatever you want to do for the rest of the weekend. Not to mention later pussy squirting, cum gobbling. Besides a few scratches it was a funny story we started telling by afternoon. I really don't know what would have happened if this chick went over the falls. I've never considered the repercussions of being a foreigner traveling with a local if some crazy shit goes down.

We hit some nice beaches nearby. I'd recommend them: Praias Grande, Juliao, Feiticeira. At the last one we run into a guy from the Jeep tour. He's got a car and we all went to Tres Tombos a short trail just north of the beach with three small falls. Some locals drinking at the last falls give us beer and enjoyed the story.

Prainha do Juliao is a romantic seafood restaurant. It has it's own private beach area. We came back here for dinner and sunset. Then drove down to Curral beach to see if DPNY resort had any nightlife, but it was too early. Ended up later going to Vila neighborhood. I think that's really the only option for bars on the island. On a Sunday night it was pretty much just our small group. Saturday night Vila had a big crowd but I didn't see anything above a 7.

Pereque has a bar Okeanos and one or two other places along the beach. On Saturday night it was completely dead. Stayed a few minutes to watch the live music in the small plaza. A few other dressed up couples also wondered in and left.

I'm spending a few days on the South Island in Bonete. You can take a boat there in season. Otherwise you have to bus to the end of the road and hike 4-5 hours. The hikes supposed to have 3 waterfalls. The cove itself is one of the islands most beautiful.

I got a few bites but nothing crazy. I've been told the bugs are unbearable in summer. Like it ruins your time at the beach or waterfall.

I was able to hitchhike today down from Cachoeira da Friagem. There's only one main road, but the trailheads for waterfalls can be 30 minutes to an hour past the neighborhoods in the canyons. The people who gave me a ride were educated and retired folks from Sao Paulo who spoke English.

There's supposed to be a visitor center near the ferry but I didn't see it. You may want to budget extra time for the ferry being closed due to weather. Apparently it happens often. It was closed all day and the line of cars was backed up to the coastal road. Probably several hours wait. As a pedestrian I got right on the first one without waiting more than 40 minutes for it to start service. The old jail castle building in vila is the park headquarters. It has huge wall maps showing sat photos of the islands with all the trails and waterfalls overlayed.

So far I'd say this is the most beautiful place in Sao Paulo. Even beats Campos do Jordao. I could spend a few weeks here.

Pic is where she almost died.

If you're really THAT concerned about "polluting" posts why add two yourself instead of just sending me a PM? I know this forum has its cliques, sceptics, etc. But the information is informative to people actually planning trips. I've gotten PMs thanking me for the info and help. Telling me to keep posting.

Look at all the dead Brazil threads that haphazardly talk about this place and that. I sifted through dozens of them before my trip. 90% of it was non-actionable info and members fighting with each other over nonsense like whether Brazilians are hot or not. Most guys couldn't figure out WHERE TO GO.

I'm sympathetic that the title of this thread is Ringos. But it has become the defacto SP thread. I reached out to him on PM. He gave me "permission" to add info on coast and mountains.

I'm giving actionable info about stuff to do with a girl around São Paulo. It makes more sense to add it to the main data sheet. That's what the forum rules say to do. The first few pages already covered everything about online, day, night game. It's mostly just guys asking for info on trips at this point anyway.

In a few years an RVF guy will get his 3 month visa for Brazil. Look for info on where to go. And take a direct flight to São Paulo or Rio knowing little more than he reads here.

Hopefully more guys will be able to build some more info on Sao Paulo's beach, mountain, valley scenes. There's a ton of potential in these places. If you're gonna sacrifice a weekend with a girl you might as well make it to some of these places. Hopefully witythe heads up I'm TRYING to give guys will even be able to role to these places solo and kill it.

Again I can't stress enough how absolutely fucking gorgeous Ilhabela is. Hit another couple cascades today. The hippy family that picked me up took me home for dinner.

Chatted a couple girls at the hostel but nothing special. Weekdays are pretty slow. Saw the first solo male foreigner in awhile. Dutch guy who was surfing tinder at breakfast. Said Ubatuba was off the hook.

Why dis you send me a pm about this stuff? Just makes it more dodgy. Just discuss everything here. Wanna harrasse and lecture people over pms now? "This will be hard for me to hear?" Lol. Just say it out in the open. (I'm not gonna list everything you sent me here for everybody )

A suggestion would be also to make your own thread. That way you go with your "business" and we go with our "business". Better for everyone...

Who gave you permission to post ?
Ringo? Can you send out the exact wording here rather than doing things under the table?
Is that enough to justify your posts on this thread? Or do you need others to agree and "permit" as well

Maybe you are really doing great stuff in Brazil, but judging from the thread responses, people aren't really that interested.

Ended up spending 10 days in Ilhabela and same for Ubatuba. Being low season the nightlife in both places has been off. But the beauty made up for it.

I spent my last few nights on Ilhabela with an attractive woman vacationing from Minas Gerais. Tall elegant 8 with a monumental Brazilian ass. Mmm.

Explored the north end of the island with her. Jabaquara Beach is the last cove you can walk to. The view was pretty from the trail/road above but the beach was nothing special. There are nicer ones that don't take all day to get to.

The better option was peeling off at Praia Pacuiba about halfway. The surf here is decent. I caught a few waves with a local group of guys. They quickly left and we had the cove to ourselves. There's the ruins of a shack that gives just enough cover for a standup fuck. I haven't surfed and fucked in years. It was a nice throwback especially since I gave up storing my van in LA just before this trip.

My girl in SP had said we were "friends with benefits" but I think she was fishing. I posted pics of the Belo Horizonte woman on IG. Immediately SP is texting me she's jealous blah blah. She canceled meeting me in Ubatuba.

One really nice thing was catching the SP Symphony perform at an outdoor theater on the south end of the island. The music festival is every August. I saw it on the last day and it was free. I think for Brazilian Father's Day.

A hit several more waterfalls and did the hike up baepi peak. It's pretty easy and has a sick view of the channel and amazing cloud forest looking inland.

The weather turned rainy and stayed that way the whole time in Ubatuba. I connected in Caraguatatuba. A woman on the bus saw me transposing info into my phone and sat down to offer some suggestions on restaurants.

She picked me up the next morning and took me to several beaches along the north coast of Ubatuba. I kinda felt bad bc she kept saying my name and sighing. Collecting sea shells and giving them to me. But to put it nicely she wasn't my type so I didn't make a move.

I stayed in the Centro area at the ecotrip hostel. A few blocks from the bus station which was helpful since most everything here is spread out. They cook an awesome cheap dinner every night.

I was able to relax and focus on waterfalls and surfing. There's at least a dozen falls scattered around ubatuba. Maybe 100 beaches. Many had good surf and even some pipe.

I went to the BBQ at green heaven hostel. It's the party hostel, but a bit isolated at the north end of Centro. Mostly guys but a few girls. The only cute-ish one was an American who wasn't drinking and seemed closed off. Plus they only had dorms available. Part of me would have liked to stay there but too inconvenient.

I ran into a "couple" from Ilhabela. An EU girl traveling alone and Argentinian guy. We we had hung out in a group in Ilhabela several nights before. I let him have her.

I could tell he really liked her. She was maybe a 6 but by far the best of the group that night. She resisted some of his moves and kept giving me signals. I was tired and not motivated.

She finally came to stand next to me and grabbed my ass. I just moved to the side and within a few minutes the Argentinian finally got her to kiss him. A brief regret but a few hours later I met a girl more my type. It made me happy to see them still together and traveling.

In Centro you can ride a bike to the fish market, aquarium, sea turtle refuge. But that's about it. I had to take the bus and hitchhike everyday. I even hitchhiked once by boat. Flagged down a fisherman coming down the picinguaba river and got a ride into the fishing village. From there I hired a boat to couves island which has a couple small beach coves.

One woman picked me up in the morning, exchanged whatsapp, then came back to pick me up after my hike on the Rotas dos Cachoeira. Took me home to a family dinner. I'd mentioned my birthday was coming up. They had a cake for her mom and sisters bday and sang. Then relit the candles for me to blowout. Really touching since I'm always abroad traveling on my bday.

Still trying to get a boat out to anchieta island state park. The weather hasn't been good and without a group of 8-10 people the tour operators don't go. One last shot tomorrow before I move on to Rio de Janeiro state.

Yesterday I popped across the border to Paraty and Trindade. I'll probably spend as much time there as well as Ilha Grande before Rio city. Trindade had a very laid back hippy vibe. It's right up against Bocaina National Park. Paraty had a chachaca (rum) festival this past weekend but I skipped it.

I've been in Brazil two months. So I'll probably extend my visa. Americans do have to get the visa in advance, but unlike Europeans we're allowed to extend it for another three months once we are here. If what I read online is correct?

That about sums up my experience along the north coast of São Paulo State. I'll come back from Rio to SP by way of Itatiaia National Park. Would love to hear if anyone has suggestions on that section of SP.

Only other things to offer on Ubatuba is in October the birding here is supposedly world class. There's also some hikes I'd like to have done in better weather like Agua Branca Waterfall and Corcovado Peak but they are longer and I think you really need to hire a guide.

The nightlife and trendy commercial shops in ubatuba is centered around Rua Guarani. There are only 3-4 bars. Met a decent girl at blues on the rocks but was too exhausted to pursue. The morning surf here is just too good.

Oh yeah the Tropic of Capricorn runs right through ubatuba at the top of the that street. Kinda cool bc I walked the Tropic of Cancer earlier this year in Mojiang in Yunnan Province China. Didn't expect that.

This will be my last post on this thread. Hope the info helps someone plan a trip from São Paulo to Rio.

I think I've mentioned this before (maybe in a different thread) but I've been back to night gaming for a while now. I have a good friend who is a beast and has a million connections to nightlife people, so we always get hooked up with VIP access to parties and clubs.

We mostly do electronic music, which I love. Girls are pretty hot and can be had for SNLs or on the first date.

There's a place called Village Canindé, attached to football/country club Portuguesa, where many of these parties are held. The spot itself is not open as a regular club, but if there's an event there it will probably be good in terms of girls.

The thing with most of these events is: the hottest girls are in the VIP. Getting a regular ticket is better than nothing, but if you have the money to spare, definitely get the VIP access.

Upcoming events that will be good for gaming:

24/sept: Festival Pinheiros. Street festival near Fradique Coutinho Station, with tons of food and live music. Good for day gaming. Free.
https://goo.gl/4Bao9a

29/sept: MOND. Techno/house music at Rooftop Air, downtown SP.
https://goo.gl/4AX6Cn

6/oct: Take me Under (with DJ Nastia). At Village Canindé. Electronic music.
https://goo.gl/q8VZUj

7/oct: Warung Tour with Kolombo and Stephan Bodzin. This is going to be one of the best parties of the year. If you enjoy electronic music don't miss it. There will be a ton of girls but logistics will suck as this is outside São Paulo, near Campinas. One option is to get an AirBNB nearby and take any survivors to your place for an MDMA fueled after party. In my opinion this is worth going with or without girls. Invite a friend or many to come with you, find pills, acid or whatever you fancy, and enjoy a great day. I've often gotten multiple numbers from places like this and contacted them later.

This is a video from last year's edition:

18/nov: Todayland sunset party. At Village Canindé. Great EDM/techno/deep house.

Met a 7-8 who I banged for 2 months at their last party. Highlight reel:

Ultra was weekend or two ago in Rio. I met a few girls going to it. They said it was at the sambodromo where carnaval is. Something to consider if you’re here in Oct.

I’m at the São Paulo airport. Will share what I learned about overstaying the visa (Americans). I overstayed about a month. The officer was polite and took awhile with my passport in another area while I waited at his desk.

He printed out a paper to sign two copies one for each of us. It just stated I owed about $R250 to be paid on my next visit.

This is about the same price as if I bothered applying for an extra three months by going to an airport and wasting a day. I didn’t do it bc I couldn’t find a printer and figured it’d be same price.

The thing I wondered is if I had applied my extra 60 days would “stay with me” for the next year. Or if I’d just lose them. He didn’t seem to understand this question.

So I asked him to run a check when I’m next eligible to return to Brazil. (I have the newer 10 year visa.) He seemed surprised and said I had 59 days.

So essentially I got automatically rolled over to an extra 3 month visa by doing nothing. Typically Brazilian. So I could just come back and overstay again. The max fine for Doug that is $R1825 if I remember what he said.

The reason I think it’s important to consider this is that the comfortable weather is June-Sept. So if I had to wait a year that’s mean I’d essentially miss next years weather window and be waiting two years for another Brazilian Winter.

So with this loophole if you can overstay. Just leave yourself a week or two. Don’t completely max out the 180 days and you can squeeze out another trip of theoretically unlimited time.

Also if I could do it over I’d have started in Rio and worked my way south through SP and out through either Iguacu or Uruguay. Then you follow the warm weather south.

It's that time of the year again, guys.

Carnaval is still a few weeks away but unoficially it's already happening.

If you are in SP, you HAVE to hit up Rua Guaicuí (which I mentioned here).

I was there on Friday and yesterday. This is last night:

Unlike the rest of the year when the vibe there is more chilled, Guaicuí is now crowded on Saturday and Sunday from 8pm until ~3am. It probably lasts until 5 or 6, but after 3am people are too fucked up and it's not a good scene so I don't hang out until too late. Sundays it starts early afternoon, around 5pm.

The bars and botecos close early but the street vendors stay until late. Beer is around R$10, I think (I don't drink).

Hundreds and hundreds of cute girls, mostly 18-27. Very open to being approached. It's not full on Carnaval debauchery just yet but it's the best spot in the city to get numbers and line up dates.

Largo da Batata, which is a one minute walk away, has a new bar called Void which has been attracting tons of people. It's also jam packed on the same hours but attendance is different - way more tatted up and alternative chicks. Guaicuí usually has better quality, but people are always going from one to the other during the course of the night so it's worth checking it out.

Also, Largo da Batata has bars that stay open until much later and play music; Rua Guaicuí doesn't have any music except for guys that bring their own soundsystems or play live music, usually a couple of dudes playing samba.

Yesterday I was also at Boteco Boa Praça. Great quality too, although the crowd was preppier and a bit older, maybe 25-30. Unlike traditional bars here, this one has a big terrace plus live music. People aren't all sitting down, so it's much easier to approach.

Check out the photos tagged there on Instagram. I prefer the girls at Guacuí but there's tons of 7's an Boa Praça.

Next week there's already a couple of "blocos" taking the streets.

It doesn't get easier than that, especially if you are located around Pinheiros or Vila Madalena.

Let the best season of the year begin!

I have received a bunch of PMs over the past few weeks from guys coming to SP.

SP is a very dynamic city and this thread has been around since 2012. It's hard to keep things up to date.

For the sake of being practical, here's a schedule that I would highly recommend right now, considering that...

- You only have a few days in SP with a Friday-Saturday in the middle
- Budget of 150USD/night
- At least basic Portuguese

Here's what my "dream schedule" would look like:

FRIDAY
Esquenta (warm up):
- Galleria Bar (9pm - midnight): younger crowd. It's a bar but turns to a club (sort of) later on in the night. Sometimes I get there at 9pm (free cover charge with your name on the list) and stay until 3am.

or

- MeGusta (8pm - midnight): older crowd (~22-30), wealthy. Expensive cocktail bar (drinks are 30-40BRL). Relaxed vibe.

Club:
- Villa Mix (midnight): has been written about ad nauseam. In my opinion it's on the back nine, but still has hot girls. Hottest girls are in the VIP and unaccessible. Girls are bitchy. More of a "show off"-y vibe. Bigger than Toca.

or

- Toca do Tatu (midnight): absolute gem of a place. Sertanejo spot. Opened up recently. Remarkable amount of hot girls (from thick to model types) with a much more approachable attitude. Club layout favors interaction. Cheaper than Villa Mix (although not by much).

SATURDAY
Esquenta (warm up):
- Pitico/Rua Guaicuí (from 5-11pm): more here.

or

Bar Boa Praça (from 4-8pm):

I will be visiting Brazil between December/January and it turned out that a friend of mine (not Brazilian) lives in the city of Sorocaba 2 hours away from Sao Paolo.

Would it be a good idea to spend a couple of days there in the first half of January?

I see that 2nd/3rd tier cities in Brazil are quite appreciated on the forum, yet I am a bit concerned that this place may be empty due to Brazilian vacation time.

I speak basic Portuguese.

Here for 10 more days,-been here a week. I'm actually here for work but have the next 10 days off. I'm considering staying here for 2 to 3 months, most likely coming back and studying Portuguese at PUC's intensive program.

I'm a heavy day gamer and lived in Medellin and D.R. for years, I'm from L.A. and live in Miami now, If anyone is interested in day gaming or just exploring please let me know. -PM me your whatsapp

Also some questions/feelings-

1) so far i've been disappointed -most of the online girls who were interested in me started ignoring me when i got here, even though I could speak portuguese. In fact some even blocked me hours before the date. I also day gamed, and some girls who were super into me, just started ignoring/blocking. - I had planned to come here in 2013 and i had some 30 girls messaging me repeatedly -now it seems all foreign/American value is gone. I'm not used to such rejection. Your thoughts?

2) building attraction: I guess I was told girls here would be easy, more sexual , and smarter/more intellectual than other "latin" countries and i've found them to be far harder and colder. I should state that i'm in my mid 30's, tan skin, but no grey hair..I do know that Brazil is a superficial place,-body-focused, but the guys here look like shit, so I'm confused as to why these girls can have such high standards-i've been able to generate 7 and 8 quality attraction with no problem in Medellin which is a tough place.-any advice on building attraction besides hitting the gym for a few months b/f i come back to live here? when i sent girls selfies and things they seemed to like them but maybe it was a fassad.-i read on the forum that if you want an easy time in SP you have to be part of the 1% most attractive, really? why?

3) And regarding game, they never ask where i'm from when they hear my accent, even compound baiting doesn't result in much. I've tried direct-high rejection rate, but might be that i'm gaming Paulista... indirect-starting to try - i find a lot of girls sort of ignore me when i try being friendly- and trying to generate attraction - is it just Sao Paulo or why so cold?
some people talked about going direct-kino , excuse my ignorance here but how do you do that when you go to a mall and a girl is with her friends... just tell her you thought she was cute, DHV, make a joke and maybe touch her arm or something?

4) lastly-what's up with this huge flake rate/ whatsapp and facebook blocking? one girl told me that Brazil has become dangerous- candidly Paulista isn't dangerous at all, everyone is using their cell phone while walking...i've offered to send Ubers for girls to bring them here, meet at Starbucks, and send them an uber home at night. -i've only got 2 girls to go out with me and banged both on date 1, but i've got another 40 who i can't even get out-much lower % than even high flake places like Medellin.
maybe i need to create more comfort-take videos of the apartment, videos of myself?

1st week new country troubles aside!! :

I'm going to go day gaming with my friend Vinny the IG king (vinnycasanova) all day on Paulista-sunday then tomorrow hit up USP and maybe PUC, - i know i've heard great things about the parks... if i don't see great results here i might need to fly out to Rio or Belo Horizonte this week, and see if those are more of my scene

in any case, my friend is leaving on Tues. so from this Tuesday to next Tuesday i'm down to day game, maybe even night game a bit, although i don't drink/party much....but hit me up, let's grab a suco and figure this weird city out! -PM me your whatsapp and let's connect

It seems like you are making some basic mistakes when it comes to urban Brazilian girls. In a nutshell, you're being thirsty and relying too much on online game - at least that's what I gather from your post.

The hierarchy of game in SP, in my opinion, is:

1) Night game
2) Social circle game (especially when used with night game)
3) Day game
4) Online

To address your points:

1) I've been saying it for a long time - dating apps have only gone downhill in SP for the past four years or so. There was a golden age when you could bang a many new 7's a month off of Tinder. I surfed that wave while it lasted, so it was clear to me when the good times were over. Unless you are at the very very top of the food chain now, and have the patience of a saint to deal with a ton of messaging, why bother.

On the girls' flakiness: can't say I'm surprised. Brazilian girls are flaky in general, even more so online. It comes with the territory.

2) Don't base your attractiveness scale off of online results. I would consider myself a 7/8. In real life i do well, yet I don't get good results online. Also, what do you mean "guys look like shit"? Bad style, bad grooming? Girls in Brazil like fit guys who game aggressively and approach, approach, approach. YMMV depending on your scene and venue, of course, but there's decent leeway for "ugly" guys if they make up for it with good game and aggressiveness.

(I mean, that's Game 101, isn't it?)

In my experience, there's no such thing as an "easy time" in SP. It's a 3rd world NYC, it's not supposed to be easy. But when it's good, it's real good.

Things can become easy when you find your niche, have a good social circle and a bit of cash to spare (much less than you'd think), but obviously that takes some time.

Of course if you are a Swedish model with a R$1000 a night budget the sky is the limit, but besides a handful of people, that's just unrealistic.

3) There's two things you need to take into account when daygaming in SP.

#1, it's a big city, so people have no time to waste;

#2 it's a dangerous city, so people are always looking out for possible signs of danger - hence why sometimes girls react weird when approached during the day.

In Brazil, there's not such thing as day game. There's cat calling, of course, but other than that most girls have probably never been approached by interesting men with good game during their daily lifes.

So what you are taking for girls ignoring you, might just be them not wanting to expose themselves to danger or not having time to waste. I suspect that has to do with the time of the day and the location you're attempting to game at. You will have very different reactions if you day game somewhere people don't have time constraints or worry about their safety, like at a park or at Paulista on Sundays, when it's closed off for traffic and it becomes a boardwalk.

4) I suspect your eagerness to meet with them is translating as thirst and making them paranoid. You're scaring the cat.

An Uber ride, which to you may be just a few bucks, to them seems like something that guys barely ever do for them, especially on a first date. There's a saying in Portuguese that goes something like "when the alms is too generous, even God will suspect". You'd be better off being less eager, even if it costs you part of your numbers. Then again, if they're from online, some of them you're never going to meet anyways.

Also, coffeeshop dates aren't that common, you'd be better off suggesting a meet for a beer at a boteco (if you drink). If you don't, invite them out for ice cream (always worked better for me than coffee).

Lastly, on danger: Paulista is not São Paulo, and São Paulo is not Brazil. When you say Paulista is not dangerous, you are kind of right. Maybe you don't see crimes there often, besides a quick mugging on a bycicle or pickpocketing. But depending on the girls you are trying to game, they might live in a lower income area where there's plenty of police violence, harassing, shady crackheads/beggars, gun or knifepoint muggings, kidnapping, etc. Don't let your eyes fool you; just because you don't see shit happening in a small, high income area of SP, it doesn't mean it doesn't happen a few kilometers from there.

I'd suggest you read some of my posts in this thread, many of the things I wrote above I had already addressed before upthread.

Will be in SP for for a couple of days (Friday, Dec 14 - Monday, Dec 17). Looks like the hot spots keep changing every few months. Anyone else in town around that time. Would love any guidance. Of course, I'm going to read through the rest of the posts on here.
