you'll get much more ass in BJ or SH. Other than that it's ur typical big city vs smaller city decision. Albeit a smaller tier 2 city in China is 4-10 million people.

In the other tier 2 cities you can be a big fish in a little pond, not gonna happen in SH or BJ. If your goals are bang as many women as possible and party as much as possible (and I know that's what u like haha) then BJ, SH, maybe Shenzhen or Guangzhou. They are the big 4.

Chengdu would PROBABLY be a good option for a tier 2 bc Sichuan Province is known for having loose women. I've been there twice but not enough to guarantee how it would stack up to BJ or SH.

Suzhou, Wuxi, Ningbo, Nanjing, and Hangzhou are pretty conservative tier 2 cities near Shanghai.

Shenzhen or Guangzhou could be a good option, lots of shady crap goes down in Guangdong Province. Cantonese there not Mandarin.

Never been to northern China so I can't comment on Shenyang, Dalian, or Tianjin. It's cold as balls so I stay away. Banged a northern Chinese girl, she was a virgin with a long distance bf and it took me 2 dates. Only experience i got for northerners.

Kunming in Yunnan Province borders SE Asia, drug trade rolls through there could have loose women can't confirm it, know 2 guys there and they like it.

Girls from Chengdu usually are pretty good.

Sichuan girls have different skin and are quite diff to other Chinese people, they usually have better personalities imo....except they are more crazy...which could still be better...depending how u look at it.

I second that. And good perspective on the crazy, it can go either way. For me, as long as it doesn't enter scary, stalker territory, it usually just means a wilder ride.

I have been to Chengdu before but decided to post my impressions just now.

- lot's of pretty - some hot girls, some easily an 8
- HUGE foreigner bonus, you will get lots of attention by showing your white or black skin
- girls show a rather good attitude, but not as submissive as Thailand
- girls speak a bit of English, some conversational
- VERY approachable, haven't failed to get a number yet
- almost all girls respond to follow-up and most come out on a 'date'
- the city is polluted like all of China but it does not have the crazy crowds of other Chinese cities
- it's easy to get around by taxi
- food is crazy cheap and so are taxis, but you get what you pay for

So far so good and much like in many other Asian destinations.

The BAD news is really bad - it's almost impossible to escalate with these girls! I had dates that I think went well but they would not even hold my hand or kiss afterwards. Girls come to your hotel room using a ruse but still won't let you escalate. All the girls were 'highly embarrassed' so far when I turned things sexually.

It's bit like in Taiwan - pretty girls (not as refined as Taipei girls though) but it's all a big tease. Getting tail needs a serious investment of 3 dates and is still not a given. One girl told me on a date that she only wants sex after marriage. Another pretty 21 year old confessed she is still a virgin!

I had the impression that sexual life is still suppressed by the traditional views. At the minimum girls want a boyfriend commitment here - more like a potential engagement ring to give it up. This means barely any sexual experience for young girls as guys don't approach much and may not really want the whole commitment.

You can recognize girls with a serious commitment by their natural stone bracelet sometimes.

I'm sure you can get laid here but so many girls actually come out on 'dates' (because they are curious) it's hard to do proper screening. I had an engaged girl coming out on drink date - she only told me that when we sat down for a drink!

Downtown coffee shops are the place to game here. I tried a number of malls but they were spookily empty - maybe I just had bad luck with them. Spending one hour in a coffee shop every day approaching will fill up your days quickly.

Street game might work as well - but I did not try.

Not a lot of good bars or clubs are open at least in winter (it gets pretty cold!). In fact I'd have most dates in a coffee shop (most are open late).

I also pipelined with OKC and CS. CS girls were cute, OKC was horrible.

Don't come here for the Bang. Come here for looking at many great looking Chinese girls but don't expect to work big numbers. If you are into mini-relationships and have time (at least weeks) you can get some rare Asian 8's for your hard investment. There are better places in Asia for us - but if you are stuck in Chengdu you will be ok.

I'm not sure where you guys went, but most of the women here are not so great looking IMO. Definitely not on par with Koreans (I saw someone compare them with Korean girls).

The city itself is ok, some parts are a little third worldy for my tastes.

I've already witnessed numerous Chinese guys cough up loogies and spit them out, anywhere and everywhere. Even on marble floors inside hotels or malls. I also went into a corner 7-11 type store and the cute Chinese girl at the counter coughed up phlegm and spit it out behind the counter. Made for a nice image, haha.

Hardly any foreigners whatsoever... It's almost eerie. Not that I'm complaining. But walking around, you'll pretty much be the only foreigner in most places. I get a lot of stares, but I don't feel like a zoo animal.

As far as gaming girls, I did some street approaches with my limited Mandarin, the girls seem friendly and open. I'll have to test this more and go for instadates or Wechat closes. Also got a date off Wechat with one girl, but I didn't manage to pull back to my hotel. Got some other dates set up. Some other girls I pipelined before coming here are flaking on me, saying they're too busy to meet. I guess that's something to watch out for: even if Chinese girls are nice and friendly to you and show interest in meeting it doesn't necessarily guarantee they'll meet you and fuck you.

That said, what's probably the best way to get my Chengdu flag before I leave? Bars and clubs? Does this place even have clubs? I don't wanna go home empty-handed haha.

I agree with most but not all that you have stated.
Regarding the dirt and people spitting and smoking everywhere, I don't know how long you have been in China but it's pretty much ubiquitous there. I arrived Chengdu after over a month in China so by that point I was desensitized to all of it.

Chengdu is the only big city in China where days would pass between the sighting of other westerners. In general I think this was a disadvantage, because the level is openness to foreigners in very low, and it's very hard to find an English speaking girl, let alone an attractive one.
If you have some mandarin skill, I think you can score big there.
Girls seemed somewhat conservative (even though the sichuan stigma of slutty girls), so it might take you a 2nd or 3rd date to secure the flag with a quality girl outside of the club/bar scene.

As for the girl quality, Chengdu has high quality of girls compared to China, they still fall way behind the Jap girls and Vietnamese girl (personally I don't get the hype about Koreans).
From all the places I visited in China, it's probably only second to Shanghai, though I did hear amazing things about Chongqing.

Your best bet is coffee shop dates and playing the daygame game with a big number of leads. Filter out hard before/ during dates. This worked for me but as I said I find it tiring and not worth the effort unless you are looking for something longterm.

Yeah, I'll have to do that or check out some clubs. I found some good places to daygame, but the vast majority of girls here are mediocre to ugly. I rarely see any knockouts or girls 8 and above.

I spent a weekend in Chengdu recently, it was my first time there. Overall it's a pretty neat place and there's a lot of cool new stuff popping up, like Tai Koo Li, a sort of open air mall development that looks a bit tacky but is great for dates and probably daygame too if you're into that. Chengdu overall feels like a place that is up and coming. It's bustling but not in a suffocating, stressful way. It feels more laid back and personal than other big cities in the region, and the food is excellent. I just wish Chinese would fucking stop smoking so much. It's absurd that there's that disgusting cold smoke smell in every single toilet, on the streets, even in some restaurants.

It was also my first time using Tan Tan in China and I'm pretty impressed. I remember someone writing in the Tan Tan thread that you get a lot of matches that don't amount to anything but that was not my experience at all. I pretty much matched with every girl I swiped right - overall maybe 60-70 matches over the weekend, and I'm picky. 95% of girls were very responsive too. I literally could have set up 10 dates every day. Now granted, not all of those girls are gonna look as good as in their pictures and not all of them will put out, but I was positively surprised. I speak Chinese though, so results may vary with English, but it seemed like a lot of girls could at least speak a basic amount of it.

Wasn't so happy about the nightlife. Visited three areas - Lan Kwai Fong, the street with Muse, True Color and some other clubs, as well as Poly Center.

Lan Kwai Fong, though run by the same group that runs the original LKF in HK, was a cheap imitation of the real thing, and mostly dead on a Friday (I didn't make it there Saturday, which is supposed to be better). Mostly Chinese table clubs and a sprinkling of Western-style places like Jellyfish, one of the most awful clubs I've ever been in. 90% dudes, the few girls that were there were nothing to write home about and were unsurprisingly constantly hounded by the rather unkempt looking expat guys. Basically a worse version of Brass Monkey in Taipei, and that's saying something.

Muse was another big Chinese table-style club I visited. Decent music but no dancefloor, everyone just at their own table, and even then it was still mostly guys. Energy was more like a lounge bar.

Poly Center is old office building that houses a number of small clubs on different floors playing non-mainstream electronic music. Obviously a very foreigner heavy place, heavy weed smell in the corridors, some real sketchy looking people. I was surprised to find this in Chengdu, as it feels like something ripped straight out of, say, Berlin. Fun place but didn't see much potential for picking up non-hipster girls.

So considering these experiences, I wonder which places OP was talking about when he said the nightlife is "stellar", with "HOT HOT HOT chicks" in clubs that are better than venues in "NY and LA". Because seriously...I have no idea where that's supposed to be. CC and Muse as mentioned by OP were completely empty and very meh, respectively.

There's definitely hot chicks to be found in Chengdu though. Got an 8 (from Tantan) to take me out to dinner Friday night and then hail mary'd her to my hotel on Sat night after giving up on the nightlife. Had 2 more dates planned for the next day but got hit by the flu and (probably) food poisoning. Same girl turned out to be very sweet, bought me medicine and food and looked after me for 2 whole days I spent stuck in bed. So I left Chengdu with a positive impression and will go back soon. Just too bad about the nightlife. If anyone has more suggestions regarding that part, I'm all ears.

Having lived in chengdu for two years and traveled all over China afterwords, chengdu is the place to go in China. It is half the size of Shanghai and has twice the amount of bars. I was far from an Asian lover before I moved to chengdu but damn these girls are so smoking. And they also age well, there was a forty year old in my office who was in my top five I saw the whole time I was there. Wore these high skirts....wow...It is known for having the best girls and food in the country. The women dress like Jackie Kennedy with the heels and skirt dresses

I think the review above seemed the most accurate to me. I went out in a lake area, similar to Beijings Houhai, it was even worse than Houhai and I think that's Beijings worst nightlife district. It was all groups of Chinese sitting at their own tables not interacting with anyone else. I went with a girl and was delighted I wasn't alone. The food there was great, the prices are cheaper than Beijing but the facilities are lacking in comparison. I went to that biggest mall in the world and the talent was good but nothing that would blow a tier one city out of the water. If I was choosing a city from scratch all that Chengdu has over the likes of Shenzhen is prices and spicy food. Shenzhen has a vastly superior transport system, it's got far better nightlife options, is on the HK border and has a higher ratio of women to men

I spent most of my second visit on dates with Tantan girls and therefore don't have much to add in terms of venues.

I did however pay a visit to Space, which is now very likely Chengdu's biggest club by far, clearly aping some of the big European venues. Some very impressive design and lighting, regular visits by well known DJs, but in the end it's the same table and booth focused shit as everywhere else in China, filled with smoke to the brim and completely devoid of any vibe or energy whatsoever. Some people even brought their kids. Admittedly I went on a Tuesday. Maybe could be fun on a Saturday, but I wouldn't get my hopes up. Kind of a shame.

Polycenter (NASA/TAG/Here We Go) remains one of the coolest places in China if you're into non-EDM electronic music and meeting all sorts of curious characters from different walks of life, from European hipsters to local white collar girls.

Maybe it's just luck but the Sichuan girls I've met and slept with in Chengdu so far have been some of the kindest, most hospitable and laid back girls I've ever met. Unfortunately a lot of them smoke like chimneys but you can't have it all I guess.
