The price of ACV up here in the north is $3.99 for a small bottle of the stuff. That was the price I was paying in Texas for a bottle twice the size! This is egregious [Image: sad.gif]

I am guessing that the "small bottle" is 16 Fl oz... b/c I bought the 32Fl oz for about $6.

I'm now doing ACV (thanks to reading this). The stuff is great. Hard to describe how/why it makes me feel so good, but it does.

Q: I'm taking a shot of ACV in the morning (diluted with 8oz water and Mio drops). Should I be taking twice a day or is once enough? [Sorry if it has been covered, but didn't read all 23 pages of this thread].

Dont buy into the hype of ACV "alkalinizing" your blood. It's a total crock of shit. I've been looking a lot online and tons of "natural health" experts have been making this claim. It is totally false. They claim because it is an acid, that your stomach doesnt digest it in the same manner and they claim your stomach will alkalinize it in order to digest it.

1. It just simply doesnt alter the pH of your body.
2. If it could, you would not want this because it would likely kill you.

I'll explain why. In order for absorption to occur in the stomach, the compound being ingested must ionize. To understand how this occurs, you must use the Henderson-Hasselbalch equation.

pH = pKa + log([A-]/[HA])

pH = stomach acid pH
pKa = acid constant for acetic acid aka vinegar
[A-] = base form (acetate)
[HA] = acid form (acetic acid)

The pH of your stomach is between 1-2. The acid constant for acetic acid is 4.76. The HA and A- we do not need values for, just a basic understanding of how ratios work.

So... lets do some math

2 = 4.76 + log([A-]/[HA]) then

-2.76 = log([A-]/[HA]) then

10^-2.76 = [A-]/[HA] or
0.00174 = [A-]/[HA]

That is all the math we need to see because now we have our ratio. As you can see, the ratio of the base over the acid is less than 1. This means that the vinegar primarily remains in its acidic form (HA:acetic acid). Otherwise, if the ratio were greater than 1, that would mean we have a larger expression of the base form (A-:acetate). Which means that it has ionized into its basic form and is able to absorbed by the stomach.

This disproves that your stomach magically alkalinizes the vinegar thus creating an alkalinizing effect throughout the body. I will admit that in your intestines, they have a pH of around 6 and you would see some ionization of the acetic acid to acetate and it would be absorbed in this part of the body.

However, consider the following: your blood pH is always at a constant between 7.35 and 7.45. A 0.1 shift beyond that range could put you in the ER or into an early grave. Just consider your size. I assume most everyone here falls into the weight range of between 150-250lbs. You are each consuming about 15-30ml of ACV daily. Based on the volume of your bodies and the volume of ACV being consumed, it is unlikely to cause any changes in blood pH. So even if by the most minuscule chance that something you consumed altered your blood pH, your body would automatically resolve that. Your body conducts its own acid-base homeostasis.

One of the ways your body does this is by breathing, by exhaling CO2. Here’s the chemistry of how carbon dioxide increases [H+] and therefore pH:

CO2 + H2O → H2CO3 → HCO3– + H+ → CO3– + 2 H+

So by hyperventilating, you are getting rid of CO2 from your body, thus causing alkalosis of the blood. By hypoventilating, you are doing the opposite, you are retaining CO2, causing acidosis. You body does this all the time. It's doing it right now. If your body senses a change in the pH of your blood, it will automatically try to correct any pH imbalance.

So this concludes the end of my biochemistry lesson. I just wanted to make it so you guys dont believe all the hype about ACV alkalinizing your blood. It's total bullshit. Even if it did alter your blood pH, you would not want that.

I'm gonna endorse this again because I just had a glass of it and I feel immaculate.

Mix up a shot of ACV with seltzer for an amazing beverage.

I have one of those soda stream machines so can make endless carbonated water. The fizzier the better.

The ACV mixes well with the bubbles and the drink tastes amazing. Just like Kombucha...it basically is the poor mans kombucha.

ACV in liquid form is so effin' malodorous. Instead, try the ACV in tablet form.

From what I understand the "mothers" the living healthy whatever in AVC is dried up and dead when you take it in pill form.

Not sold anymore on ACV. It can't hurt but I don't think it's a panacea. What I do believe in is making naturally fermented foods part of your daily diet, to maintain your gut flora. My favorites are sauerkraut and miso, but ACV is good too. I use it occasionally in salad dressing now.

I'll take convenience with reduced efficacy over efficacy with reduced convenience. It's better that I take ACV in tablet form regularly than to suffer drinking the stuff and quit after a few days. I'm taking ACV for gallbladder issues as a natural remedy.

I'm not sold on fermented foods at all, with the notion of having to maintain our gut flora, and I have 2 reasons behind it.

1. It tastes bad. Logic tells me that if something tastes bad, we shouldn't eat it. It's one of nature's protection mechanisms. Animals use it to determine what they should or should not eat. I live by the same rule. If it tastes bad, I don't consume it.

2. It's not natural. Now I realize that there are many rebuttals to this (one of my own would be that I could argue that cooking our food isn't natural, either), but think about it. Our food (plants and animals) was made for us to consume fresh. It goes bad and eventually becomes poison to us if we consume it while in a rotten state.

Now, what are these gut flora that we need that only exist in fermented food? It simply doesn't make sense that our bodies would require something that only exists in a decayed state.

Fermenting food was originally used as a preservative, but we don't need that anymore - we have refrigerators and freezers.

ACV is also good for dogs. Put a little in the dog bowl to keep fleas away (little enough so it doesn't alter the taste). A lot healthier than giving them pesticides. You can also dilute ACV with water and use it as a bug repellent. You can just put it in a spray bottle and spray it on your pets before they go out.

Interesting side effect was when I was taking it, one of ex fuck buddies would swallow my cum and say it didn't taste bad at all, she was wondering what I was eating.

It doesn't matter if she loves it or hates, all that matters is that she swallows it.

There is nothing beta about wanting girls to enjoy your love nectar. After feeding enough girls your love nectar you will find that some enjoy it and some don't and thats ok to. However having one tell you she wont even try your love nectar and you letting here get away without sampling it could be considered beta.

You will run into this problem eventually if your playing the field. When I come across a girl that says she doesn't spit or swallow and not to cum in her mouth and I can't convince her otherwise, I just say "Its ok, its no big deal" Then when she is blowing me I bust in her mouth anyway.

Apple Cider Vinegar can also be used on warts (not genital warts [Image: lol.gif] )

Take a Q-tip and rip off the cotton portion of it, dip it in ACV, then place it on the wart. Place a bandaid over the wart to hold it in place and leave it on. Do this for 7-14 days straight. Eventually the wart will become discolored and you will see little black dots. Those black dots are you essentially destroying the arterioles and veins that are providing oxygen to further the proliferation of the wart tissue. Without a means to receive oxygen and nutrients, the wart tissue cannot grow and regenerate. It will turn black and start to fall off.

Eventually the wart will die off. Be aware that the wart area will hurt like a bitch (you are soaking your skin in acid!). It will especially be a throbbing pain if you have the warts on your fingers.

This method works better than most of the treatments available OTC which you have to use for 4-8 weeks. This is much quicker.
