The Roissy Reader: Chateau Heartiste on Game

“Heartiste is the intellectual linchpin of the Manosphere.” — Frost

“Heartiste is the Aristotle of the manosphere. His site is the bedrock of what people consider common knowledge…” — MikeCF

"There is no greater entry point for the curious man, no better archive, no blog more skilled and entertaining at truth telling, nobody overlaps the various worlds of truth better, nobody reduces the opposition to point and sputter better than Heartiste.” — LaidNYC (now defunct)

“Heartiste is easily the biggest American intellectual of the last 100 years or so, and has more impact on the lives of men than anyone else.” — Samseau

“8=====>" — Heartiste

##

If you held a survey in this corner of the web and asked guys their favorite game blog, Heartiste would win a landslide. I'd definitely vote for him.

There's lots of good that can be said about Heartiste—he's an interesting stylist, he has an exceptional eye for detail, he hasn't junked up his site with banner ads and popovers—but for my money, what's most appealing is that he seems to genuinely love chasing and bedding women.

For whatever reason, that's not a given among game bloggers, even those who (judging by their stories) are probably more prolific in their snatch-getting than Heartiste. But if I'm going to take my game cues from somebody, I'm not that interested in how many girls he gets. I wanna know how much pleasure he gets out of those girls, and I think it's clear that for Heartiste, the answer to that question is "a lot."

##

The biggest downside with Heartiste is that, after eight-plus years of extraordinarily prolific blogging, it's hard to find the "core" of his ideas on game. I agree with LaidNYC that CH is probably the ideal starting point for a newbie wanting to learn about game, but once a newbie gets to Heartiste's site, where would he start?

With that in mind, this is my attempt to put together a "selected readings" version of the Heartiste archive—an abbreviated table of contents to the site, in effect. My hope is that with this list, someone new to game could spend just an afternoon or two reading about it, and come away with a clear idea both where these game concepts come from, and how to start putting them into practice.

I think this might also be helpful for someone with beginner or intermediate familiarity with this shit and who wants a refresher on a specific topic.

This isn't meant as a "Best of Heartiste." There's nothing about immigration, Western decline, or human biodiversity in here, in case any of those topics is triggering for you. I also left out almost everything about feminism and the science of seduction, both of which are related but not essential.

The only things on this list are those that pertain more or less directly to getting and—if that's your thing—keeping strange. As much as possible I've tried to group posts by category but obviously there's lots of overlap.

I hope reading this stuff is as helpful for others as it has been for me.

Roissy was my gateway to the manosphere back in 08 and I think his best material was from the time he started the blog to about 2010. Being a skittles man and letting bitches taste the rainbow is some of the best advice you can ever give a fellow man.

Quote:Quote:

The matriarchy in all its silly manifestations — extravagant weddings, diamonds-nookie barter, pop culture propaganda, daddy government disease — is structured to handicap men. To cut them off at the knees. Fitting, really, because a man on his knees is exactly where he’d have to be to agree to $15,000 wedding flowers. The finances aren’t the core issue; it’s the corrosive effect such a wasteful expenditure for a woman will have on her attitude. The matriarchy loathes and fears Skittle Man, the freeloader who nonetheless basks in the love of many women. The matriarchy would rather men be like Wedding Flower Man, slaving dutifully as a nameless, faceless cog in the machine paying his dues for his two pence of pussy. Society’s Little Helper.

Goes to show why P4P is illegal. How many middle aged men do you know who have thrown their lives away for that? Hopefully, we sure as hell won't buy into this because we know better. If you know a guy who is thinking about getting married, show him this and what he's headed for.

I know he's kind of being a shill right now, but the collected comments of YaReally are really one of the highlights of the later years of Heartiste. He may sound like a douche right now, but he's trying to defend his boys, so his hearts in the right place.

No. I'd pick Roosh, I think most people would.

http://heartiste.wordpress.com/2007/page/22/ This is where the archive begins. From 2007 through to 2010/2011 Roissy layed down the theory of game extremely well. Those early works are essentially the red pill Bible.

It came to an end when he was outed by a feminist though, he renamed the blog Citizen Renegade and then Chateau Heartiste, and stopped publishing anything new about game; all new game posts from what is presumed to be a new author(s) have basically been rehashes of the old stuff.

I've always thought the new author has a chip on his shoulder from not having Roissy's level for insight, so he compensates with an over-the-top, try-hard intellectual pontificating writing style that's unbearable to read. None of the RVF members I know follow the heartiste blog anymore.

All I know about this person is that MikeCF and some other members said he has no game in the RSD thread. What are these comments?

That's funny, I didn't even consider Roosh when I wrote that. I think of him as more "alternative right" than "game," I guess because he had started branching out by the time I was coming here regularly.

I agree CH's best stuff is older, although I think that's more a product of him covering everything there was to cover by 2011/2012 than of the writing declining. These articles are nearly all 2012 and earlier, and mostly concentrated in 2007 to 2010.

Roosh's blog even today is much more focused on game and self-improvement than alt-right politics compared to Heartiste over the last two years.

That post would've been from before the change over. The original Roissy was still behind the blog in 2011, at least for most of it. He continued on for a little while after being outed and the rebrandings. MikeCF said in another thread a while back he thinks Roissy then sold the blog to some RSD guys.

When the original Roissy turned the site into Heartiste, apparently he brought on a couple of writers (possibly investors, but that's speculation). One of them is a white nationalist (goes by the alias 'FirePower'). Supposedly, when you read game material on the site, it's the original Roissy, and the race crap is FirePower.

If you understand his philosophy, that society and culture masks a lot of ugly truths, then once you kick women off their pedestal, it's easy to go after Blacks, Mexican Immigrants, Gays, and anyone else that defends them.

And throw in confirmation bias, where a person discounts everything that goes against his theory, and you end up with his other posts.

I have only been on this forum/ found out about the red pill for a little over a year now I never knew the back story, thank you posting that thread.

Yeah, I've been reading the blog since maybe 2008 or 2009 and I never noticed a big change in style. Where does everybody get this info from?

The multiple writers of Roissy is a pretty well accepted theory. Have you every noticed that some writing is just head and shoulders better than other stuff? It's a similar style, but one is obviously an amateur trying to copy the master. Also, the original Roissy was a "Bell Curver" but not the kind of racist seen in later posts. He has a jewish last name, so would probably make a poor Nazi (think Dave Chappelle doing the "White Power" skit). He would also bring in Virgil Kent for guest posts, which would drive the actual racists out of their minds when he (predictably) talked about the best ways to bang white women.

I concur. Heartiste is the best blog generally speaking I've ever read. Certainly the most intelligent.

When I first took the red pill I offered a Heartiste article to a friend. This friend I consider the smartest person I know and is an unbelievable writer. His response: "the author seems a lot smarter than me". I've never heard my friend say that...ever before or since.

I always wonder why people think he's race baiting. I guess I see him as a beacon of truth, seeking it out in the least lit, most dangerous places (usually that involves race).

I understand RVF staying away from racial discussions, and I appreciate it, but that doesn't mean a blogger telling the truth about or reflecting on facts surrounding race = race baiting.

I need to start reading his blog again.
