The Roissy Reader: Chateau Heartiste on Game

Like I said, I have an irrational hatred of the man - I feel like he's the Pied Piper of lonely guys.

But, you're correct that he could / can write. Although some of his stupid songs, etc were low points in that writing.

He portrayed himself like some international playboy, but when he was outed by some SJW he picked a fight with, he was working some dead-end, bottom-of-the middle, shitty job at Finra (then the NASD).

I've got plenty of respect for guys living on $12k a year in Chiang Mai running an internet business or driving their own cab, but he went to a cube in some grey little office, every day from 9 to 5, and took orders from people who were the best ass-kissers of people who got their jobs from political patronage. He had the kind of job that most people have, with 3 weeks of vacation and a 401(k) match of 4%. In short, his "real life" sucked.
But I thought that's what "game" was all about, at least in the early days: faking it till you make it. I read The Game and The Venusian Arts Handbook and Magic Bullets and watched David Deangelo videos, and that seemed to be the whole point: that girls didn't care what you day job was, they just cared about how charming and charismatic you are. It seemed to be all about regular guys starting with canned material and just learning to talk to girls the right way in order to get them into bed.

The race hate got too strong for me to ignore. Kind of slaps you in the face when you are hoping for a witty game post. Don't check out anymore.

It seems like lots of these 'leaders' in various internet-based spheres become this, eventually.

Guys who start out blogging with the goal of helping people improve their lives / sexlives will inevitably attract the wrong kind of audience.

Only a small percentage of the guys reading game blogs are serious about putting in the work or improving their lifestyle. The rest are looking for a place to rest their precious little heads so they can safely vent to an echo chamber.

I can see why it's tempting for guys like Heartiste to cater to that crowd.

It's just so easy to pander to the sad, socially awkward, lonely geeks. They are the currency of the internet.

Same could be said for Alt-right figures. What basically started as a movement in search of truth has been hijacked by NEETS and the leadership figures seem only interested in the narcissistic supply readily available. There's a reason why they are not going anywhere or having much of an impact.

The same could be said of Rollo Tomassi and his reddit-based redpill following.

So at a certain point, these content creators are presented with a choice: stick to the truth, and refuse to cater to the lowest common denominator, at the cost of a larger audience, or appeal to the dorks.

Fair enough. I think we've seen where these paths led.

I remember seeing a picture of Mystery walking with his daughter in a stroller while his skank girlfriend / wife / baby momma smoked a cigarette three feet away. What a catch!

The best advice out of 'second wave PUA-ism' is to not let pussy rule your world. When you're in your 20s and 30s, you need to have your focus be on building the foundation. Bitches will respect that and the good ones will accommodate your professional focus.

I think that these guys had a valuable role to play - helping incel types learn how to approach girls. But the value of their advice is clearly very limited - as illustrated by how their lives turned out. (Mystery married to a white trash skank, Roissy disgraced and retreating into nihilism.)

They also perpetuated the myth that game could trump everything else. It leads a lot of guys to think they're going to achieve more than is realistic. You're not going to land a supermodel if you're a short, ugly, fat, Indian, Red Lobster employee. No amount of game is going to trump that. Sorry. (Being a reasonably attractive fireman, a doughy Hedge Fund MD, maybe with game...) This lie led to a lot of wasted time, humiliation and frustration by the Elliot Rogers of the world.

The advice that I give to my younger friends has always been to focus on having your shit together, being in shape, and accomplished in some basic ways. Once those things are covered, then you can focus on game. It's the seasoning - not the steak.

Very well put.

I'm not sure about Rollo... I've actually found his advice about menstrual cycles to be very helpful in understanding my wife and the occasional third girl.

He seems to actually walk the walk (to some degree, anyway....)

I was late to the game on Heartiste. Roosh was my intro to Game. Heartiste did have one post with one point that at the time was a small enlightenment for me. The 16 Commandments of Poon https://heartiste.wordpress.com/the-sixt...s-of-poon/

Specifically, point number XVI. Never be afraid to lose her. Bombshell for me at the time (several years ago). Took me to a new level of state and frame control. Easy to say, almost impossible for newbies to do, but I feel that outcome independence was THE thing that was missing in my game. As a beta I just wanted someone to like me. Now is she leaves, she leaves. I know I'll get another one. And when you REALLY believe this, women can tell. And that's who they're looking for whether they can admit it or not. I didn't know all the backstory and IRL stuff mentioned in this thread but for #XVI alone, kudos you, Heartiste.

Also, The 16 is a good basic, one-page game primer I can send to newbies I'm trying to help.

I hope she's less of a skank than the one who he pays child support to....

From my perspective (reader since 2008) he started off with a simple prospect on how women respond to possible mates. This led down a path, sometimes very dark, to get to the root cause of issues and that’s why culture and politics came in to play and began dominating his blog. I don’t always agree with some of his sentiments, but it’s really interesting to see how a lot of things are connected and he quite often backs it up with evidence versus simple conjecture.

Great collection. I will have to look into how to turn this into a pdf to take around with me in my phone.

Made a script to get them all into a pdf. They're in alphabetical order and I added the first post in the beginning.

Can be downloaded here: https://pdf.yt/d/vDOT9mHtML-iRqpU 200 pages... Now I have some reading to do [Image: banana.gif]

I compiled all the links into a nicely formatted .mobi for reading on a Kindle. I do not know whether it works on other eReaders too.

Here you go!

Your link is down, could you send it again. Thanks.

Anyone knows how to consult the Archive of CH? I'm talking about looking at posts from 2008-2011. The site is hard to navigate and if you don't know what you are looking for it's hard to find the old contents.

You can just type the year after the domain, for example:
https://heartiste.wordpress.com/2009/

just scroll downward to see everything, you also see the URL change to
https://heartiste.wordpress.com/2009/page/1/ etc.
