I did it in LA. PM me for the docs name. It was $6 per graft for FUE, $4 for FUT.

Never heard of charging per hair. Hair grows in groups of 1, 2s, and 3s, just look at your arm hair closely.

The front of my new hairline will be grafts of 1s. Behind it goes 2s and 3s.

After taking 3 advil pm tabs last night at 9pm. I woke up at 7am feeling pretty normal. Just slight swelling on my scalp where they did the transplant. I'm going in again this morning so that they can teach me how to wash the area properly.

I might not have mentioned that the doc claimed a 95% retention rate of the transplanted grafts if well cared for in the first week. I plan to be incredibly careful. Lots ofreading for the next five days.

Anti iinflammatory foods is a good idea, however, they gave me s steroid pill for that.

You have to trust the doc for numbers. The assistants are giving you the count the whole time. If they really wanted to F me, they could have I guess. That's why you deal with reputable people and do your research.

Bit of advice.
You can take MSM supplements to increase growth after an HT. Check it out.

Also taking propecia tends to help with the process also but that needs to be a personal decision as there are potential side effects.

Grafts are secure after 7 - 10 days so be extra careful during the first week.

Hardest part with an HT is the wait. It can take up to 18 months to see the full effect and you'll tend to get worse before you get better due to the shedding process which can rid you of both native and newly transplanted hairs.

I look like a Klingon without the wrinkles in my forehead. My temples are swollen about a 1/2 inch on each side. I can't wrinkly my forehead skin at all through moving my eyes.

Again, they don't tell you up front that you will be needled with local anesthesia about 50 times. I'm on day 2 of 4 in the recovery period. Fortunately I have plenty of books and work to catch up on.

Sleeping in the upright position requires tyelynol PM for my too.

I'm considering a transplant soon, so it's good to hear you reporting the good and the bad. Your report definitely sounds worse than many people in hair loss forums have claimed. I've heard it's similar to the pain from a major dental procedure, which in my opinion is not that bad really.

It looks like it's been about a month since yours. How's recovery going? Did you lose any hair in the transplanted areas? Do you have obvious scarring in the transplant areas? How long after the transplant before you could go out in public without any visible signs?

From my experience the transplanted hair falls out after a month then takes about 6 months to start growing back, it's usually 12 months+ before the hair is mature. I was able to go out after about 2 weeks without anybody noticing.

Yes, there will be. I had a standard 'strip technique' perfumed.

I didn't once think about it until I cut my hair real short one day and it caught me by surprise. The barber trimmed the back using a # 1-2 clipper extension that day. It looked like a small 'step' that people might do on purpose.

While the line caught me off guard, was still real subtle and don't imagine anyone would ever notice it. The stylist was confused himself for a few moments before asking me if I had a scar. And that was him being inches from my head.

But it sounds it would be quite noticeable for you given how short you keep things.

Maybe explore the newer FUE technique or whatever it's called.

You'd be OK with the FUE procedure if done by a skilled surgeon. If he uses a small punch (to take the grafts from the back/sides of your head) then the scarring will not be noticeable.

That's not a scar, that shit is barely noticeable.

If the surgeon is shit then he'll use a larger punch and the dots will be much bigger and noticeable. That's why it's important to get a good surgeon, otherwise more procedures will be needed for repair jobs and there's only a limited donor area available.
I've seen instances where people get beard/chest/pubic hair transplanted for repair jobs due to being butchered previously. Not a good look.

After day 4, the swelling was down significantly. I went to party in Scottsdale with my shaved head on day 7. Nobody could tell. By then all the red dots disappeared and the scabs flaked off.

If you keep it that short you could also check into scalp pigmentation. Someone posted a video with results on the previous page.

Re-reading this last page, and I don't have a large amount to add.

Couple of things to note on FUE:
-Sensitivity of the scalp for 2-3 weeks afterwards. If I didn't take advil before I went to sleep at night, I would wake up with pain until about day 8.
-The area that was done seems thinner, now that it's growing back. That area of the front scalp was highly impacted for me.
-I had a 1 inch strip across the top of my entire forehead done, which equated to 1,500 grafts. I've been on finesteride for the past 3 months to stop/add to my crown. I still have 30% thickness on my crown, but if I ignored it, it would be much worse very soon. I'll type up my Finesteride side effects in that thread.

Like I said earlier, you need a full 7 days to heal, after that, no one can really tell anything except that your hair is now short.

The hair growing back usually starts off as a bit wispy, then over 12-18 months starts getting thicker. Are you using minox also?
In addition I use a lasercomb and take nettle root powder and my hair is much thicker than it was.

I don't remember that thread. I look good with a shaved head, so it doesn't bother me too much. Same head shape/size as GSP, so it fits me well. If there's an option to not be bald I'd look into it though.

Ok, this is how it goes.

Hair transplant is not for everyone. There are a lot of factors that come into play. The younger you are the more you should think about it.

It depends on your donor hair (the hair at the back of your scalp), Aggression of your balding pattern and so on. If you are in your late twenties your transplant might take you to your late thirties.

It is important to note that you will probably need future transplants and if you do not have enough donor hair supply you are basically fucked with a big scar at the back of your head. FUE could help you there but it cannot extract as much donor as Strip.

My advice, get a wig...new technologies have made them almost undetectable...you do not need that 6 month waiting time where your hair is growing back too.

There is japanese tech where the wig is sewn into the skin of your scalp so it is very secure.

Get a wig,wait it out....hair transplants are too risky. More technology is coming...

Nice suggestion for alternative thinking. My hair has always been pretty thin. I'm in my 40s, and my hair seems to be thinning everywhere - receding in the front and balding in the back top. Potentially, the back sides of my head could be a donor area, but so far i have NOT checked into it.

You may be correct that if a wig is really naturally looking, then it may be a better option for some people to consider.
