When you're an NBA star you can get away with it, but otherwise that is the stupidest song and "dance" I've ever seen. It's so stupid to the point of being offensive anyone refers to it as a dance.
I'm not trying to dis you, seriously, more power to you if you can pull it off, but I only see immature ghetto girls wanting to learn that.
Mixx
They play they dougie in any top 40 club or similar out here. White chicks do it, asian chicks, everybody. And if you are a dude and you can do it with some swag, chicks will acknowledge.
Same with all those silly southern-inspired dances: the dougie, stanky leg, jerking and rejecting.
If anything, you rarely have room to do those long-distance foot step dances, because clubs get PACKED. Outside of specific dances like for EDM, salsa, etc, if you can rock a little two-step, you are on your way to being at least decent.
By and large, the hottest girls are in clubs with the most mainstream music. If the club caters to music geeks, chances are the women are less hot, and less in number. That is true for sure here in Socal, and I know it's even worse in Miami right now.
By mainstream music, I mean mainstream techno, house music and electronica, nothing experimental, and mainstream radio rap.
Last time I was in Miami, earlier this year, they played the Dougie in mansion, and I know I heard jerking songs in LIV. You won't hear that stuff played in Space, but you won't find any girls in Space either. Same goes for clubs here in cali.
A basic club dancing checklist would consist of:
-"same two step with a lil twist' as 50 said. Use this when dancing to hip hop songs, RnB and other slower 4-4 beat music
-basic house music shuffle, to use with the mainstream house songs that will be played, especially for earlier in the night before the crowds squeeze away all the room
-basic sway and grind swag, for the rare slow dancing moments or during breakdowns in other genres
-party rock, high energy hop and arm movement bit, to play during soungs by LMFAO and similar acts, or during high energy moments of other genres
-basic latin music moves to go with the pop-salsa songs you will hear in mainstream glitzy venues
-a 'girl twirl' move to go with the above
If you go to SERIOUS dance clubs, and I go to them for the music, you won't find too many girls to impress with your moves. And if you aren't a serious dance student, you will be outclassed in most of those venues too. Plus, it almost seems like serious dance clubs frown upon guys like us coming in there trying to just pickup. they almost have a very asexual vibe, except for partner dance specialties like salsa, swing, etc. I would love a venue list for some of these places in major cities to see if I'm understanding the kind of venues being suggested.
I took swing dancing in college, it was fun, but it's not very sexually charged.
