Anyone play Hearthstone?

Thanks for sharing the Arena lists guys.

Will try it out tonight. Had saved up 14xx gold to unpack them GT expansion cards, but now I shall put it to better use at the Arena!!!

Guys there are 4 very strong decks you can run without epic or legendary cards and still rank up like crazy.

Face Hunter
Aggro Paladin
Warlock Zoo
Patron Warrior (may get nerfed soon)

Some versions of zoo use a single sea giant, but there are cheap replacements for it. You don't have to spend money or hundreds of hours grinding for legendary cards.

The expensive decks are mainly control, and run half a dozen legendary cards.

Ha! So he's like the IceFrog of Hearthstone.

I had a meltdown today morning and pissed my meagre gold away so am starting fresh with a new account. Will use Samseau's and Sweet Pea's links for a couple games each and report back.

Also, taking suggestions for new names (currently DonaldTrump)

1. ThunderRat
2. MoonMoon
3. Shitlord
4. ILoveYou
5. YourMom
6. 6Centipede9
7. HornyKodo
8. DyslexicBee
9. ElephantMan

Sharkie I think you have to go with Shitlord if no one has taken it.

Today was my veg-out day. Finished 4 arena runs.

Druid: 5 wins
Paladin: 9 wins
Hunter: 7 wins
Mage: 7 wins

DC'd on the paladin run TWICE. Really thought I could have gotten close to 12 wins with that deck.

And god damn Druids suck in arena. Comparatively, my Hunter deck was absolute trash on paper. Like 14 2-drops and only 6 cards over 3 mana. The mana curve looked like hearthstone was giving me the finger.

Going to try the other tier list tomorrow and see how it goes.

Instead of Blizzard saying The Grand Tournament releases in August, they should have said "releases really close to September." That's a little more honest.

I want to open my 50 packs now and look at all the cards I won't use, and the 2 cards I might use. Ranked might actually be interesting for the next couple weeks as people run more experimental decks.

I threw together a mage secret/hero power deck with some of the new cards. Just sort of clicked on shit that looked cool. It works alright, but I think it will need some tweaking as time goes on. This game is so much more fun right now with everyone playing new decks.

The Murloc Knight is probably the most surprising card in the expansion. Most people thought it was utter shit...but, in a worst case scenario you get a 3/4, a 2/1 and a 1/1 for 6 mana. That's fair. Best case you summon another murloc knight and your opponent has some very hard decisions to make.

If you play a fencing coach the turn before you drop the murloc knight, that's all for 4 mana.

Murloc Knight/Muster for Battle decks seem to be extremely powerful right now.

Edit: forgot the synergy with Garrison Commander, which lets you hero power twice per turn.

Yeah inspire is INSANE on Paladin. Units multiply like rabbits.

Edit : Sweet Pea -- Arena was definitely interesting(chaotic?) yesterday. The new minions that require comparing two cards to activate buffs (eg. Master Jouster) are really lame. Its making the gameplay more dependent on luck than skills (or you have to focus on getting a mid-late game heavy deck). Also hoping that some of the cards get nerfed.

I have to admit, I really undervalued almost all of the cards in this expansion. I thought inspire was too slow, joust was too random...but I am having a blast with the game right now. Just pulled Varian "Win" out of a pack.

Feels good.[Image: banana.gif]

I knew murloc knight would be strong, but he is redic. Gonna enjoy having another class to overrun people with murlocs.

Side note, anyone do anything while opening packs? I uad heard lots of people tried to make drinking games. I opted for 10 pushups a pack. Got a but tiring after 20 packs or so, but cleared all 50 with ease.

Yes I had two Tuskarr Jousters in my deck and literally lost every single joust with them. Inspire is actually taking over arena--with more cards, there are even fewer opportunities to pick board clears and direct removal. Cards like Kodorider and Murloc Knight snowball very quickly and you often don't have ways to remove them.

cascadecombo- that's a good idea, unfortunately I opted to just sit on my ass and eat. What legendaries did you guys get? I have Varian, Dreadscale (the good one), Gormok and The Mistcaller. I wanted Chillmaw, but I can always craft it after the meta settles down.

On my European account I opened Anubarak and the pally legendary that turns all enemy attack to 1. Then bought 16 more packs with the gold I was planning to arena with and opened a golden valk sister, the one who does 3 damage when targeted with a spell.

On US I got both hunter legendaries and some other legendary that doesn't seem to be worth my memory. The real treasure I got from my US account was opening the golden murloc knight.

Continuing with keeping fit while unwinding, do you or anyone else do BWF type stuff between each turn? I can't say I do it every game, but I try to pump out 10 pushups or 5-10 handstand pushups per turn on days I don't hit the gym. If you think about it, 10 pushups is incredibly easy, and I pumped out 500 within 20 minutes last night. I wouldn't say that the pace was very good but I had a decent sweat going at the end.

Just got to 11 wins with MURLOC FUCKING KNIGHT. Repeatedly gave him divine shield (2X Argent Protectors, 1 Hand of Protection) to protect from spells and dropped taunts for physical damage. Hilarious arena

So Inspire in Arena is broken as fuck and OP to hell. But in constructed Inspire is garbage.

I tried using jousting cards and so far the only one I like gadgetzan jouster. That 1 drop replaces my zombie chow in most control decks because it lets me see what kind of deck I am playing against and usually wins. Even when it loses it never matters. For other more important cards, I find jousting to be too unreliable.

Inspire in arena is absurd, yeah. Gives a huge advantage to going first as well - you can get your inspire dude down earlier and it demands removal, or you just win.

There were a few 'remove or lose' cards in pre-TGT, but they were much less common. It's pretty realistic now for every deck to have 1 or more of these 'must answer' cards and it makes for a much worse arena experience.

Murlock Knight was definitely a surprise. I loathe murlocs and was pissed Pally got this, but I was shocked at how strong a card it was.

Enter the Colosseum looks very sexy, I have yet to pull one. Seriously considering crafting 1.

There are a few inspire cards that work very well in certain constructed decks like Thunder Bluff Valiant, Savage Combatant and Murloc Knight, but the big name streamers seemed to quickly remove most cards affecting your hero power from their decks--stuff like Garrison Commander, Maiden of the Lake, etc.

The inspire mechanic works as a late-game mana sink, meaning you aren't playing Thunder Bluff Valiant and hoping it's still alive next turn to hero power. You play it on a turn you can also use your hero power to make sure it activates. That being said, the murloc and TBV are really the only Inspire cards I run across in ranked.

Joust is pretty bad overall. I use King's Elekk in my hunter deck and it wins more than half the time. That's a good example of what a Joust card should look like--its stats are fine even if you lose the joust, but it has the potential to draw a card for free. Compare that to something like Master Jouster or Tuskarr Jouster, where you might be fucked if the joust doesn't work.

What kind of decks have you guys been running into, and which new archetypes have you tried? The first day after the expansion everybody was playing Totem Shaman and the new control warrior with Varian Wrynn and a million legendaries...but today I kept playing face hunter and patron again. Handlock, zoo, freeze and mech mage, and ramp druid all disappeared.

I went on a losing streak with my hunter and switched to beast druid. It seems incredibly powerful in the current meta--I've had success against Patrons, control warrior, aggro and the new dragon priest deck.

I've been playing against tons of aggro decks. The control decks have heavy emphasis on board clear and heals. I've tried to make a valuadin on this theme (need enter the coliseum) and I've also created a ramp druid deck with astral communion. When you get 10 mana on turn 1, it can be very OP but so far seems very inconsistent.

I topped out at rank 7 but dropped back to 10.

Secret Paladin is the new flavor of the month, so I put two Flares in my Midrange Hunter deck. Completely destroys them, usually makes them concede if you play one right after they play a Mysterious Challenger.

I picked Tempo Mage back up with Effigy and I've been having a little success. Seems like every single Priest wrecks me though, no matter what I'm playing.

Also, my Arena average has dropped from 6 to 2 wins since TGT came out. I just had back-to-back 1-win runs.

Murlocs got some cool new tools, with Murloc Knight getting a soft nerf in the form of the 1/1 and Finley. I'm trying out a Murloc Shaman deck right now but I don't really have fun playing aggro.

Favorite card of the expansion is Entomb for priests. So satisfying.

Im busy working out a nice deck with anyfin can happen.

I liked the new shaman card, but once again the pally got a better one. On a perfect day its a 30 damage spell, on a halway decent one its 15 dmg on the first play.

So my hearthstone journey has ended.
Too many things coming to fruition at the same time, and the game had become somewhat of an unnecessary obsession.

Finished arena with 12 wins, went to legend with Secrets Mage/Flamewaker Mage/Dragon Warrior, there was nothing left to achieve.

Used up all the gold on packs.
Dusted and redusted everything till there was no dust remaining (P.S. Golden Ice Rager? Sick!)

Crafted golden Alexstraza and Deathwing for the last game...seemed fitting.

Good luck guys, stay salty.
