Video: Roosh Interviews Me About Eastern Europe, Internet Game and Traveling

Interesting video.

I see some comments have already been thrown about Body Language.

Here are some of my thoughts regarding the video, take it as constructive criticism or anything you want:

20Nation:

- You seem like a cool guy to hang out with. Your body language seems very friendly in a normal situation, I guess I can understand why you say girls like it.

- However, like many have already said, you really look nervous in the video. The way your arms bounce back and forth is really notorious. Many people have ticks that manifest in different ways and that's fine.

- Thanks for the tip regarding the webcam thing before dates, never really thought about it and I can really see how it would increase success rate.

Overall I enjoyed the video, but it seems to me the setting is kind of strange? Seeing you two guys in the interview while standing up is kind of strange and makes the body language become projected a little different.

Also I've never met Roosh so I don't really have an idea how his personality really is like, he seems really laid back and the video and that's cool. But it gives a feeling like you are not really into the questions or what is being discussed.

I think perhaps an interview while sitting down would be way better.

Just my advice and observations.

I took a public speaking course in college. The classroom was attached to the college TV studio.

Towards the end of the semester, after everyone had gotten comfortable speaking in front of a classroom, the last assignment was to speak in the TV room with just a camera-man, but in front of a real TV camera with a light on you nonetheless, while the class watched in the other room.

Many "good" speakers in class, absolutely lost it, many cried. When I attempted to give my speech, I laughed uncontrollably and couldn't stop.

Something about looking into the big void of a lens affects you differently than in normal life.

I agree about standing in front of cameras and classrooms can be challenging, but it's also fun if you have the right mindset.

I ended up being in those situations several times in Russia.
Usually totally unprepared. But I enjoyed it because I had no pressure to proove anything so I just made fun of the situations. Mostly I was hungup or had a buzz going so that maybe played a big part. It was a lot of fun.

Here at home I've been contacted to do some lecturing about traveling, but that had a more of a serious vibe so I didn't go.

I prefer much more to stand in front of a room packed with 18 year old giggleling Russian teenagers.

I think what you are describing is a close relative of approach anxiety.

It's why I recommend all men to practice martial arts or have a hobby such as surfing.

When you are no longer worried about getting hurt from sparring or get that zen oneness from riding a wave (I am learning to surf now) everything else dulls down because of your belief in yourself.

Confidence and believing in yourself come from competency.

It's why I said earlier this is an inner game issue.

I can say this because I have given a lot of interviews some of which reached a wide audience one of which was broadcast over mainstream media.

I am not saying I don't feel fear, far from it.

But believing in yourself is how you negotiate that particular obstacle.

Believing in yourself transcends situational circumstances.

This is a very key point.

I am not trying to say I have ultimate confidence and that I am infallible.

I will say I don't make claims that I can't back up and because of that I have seldom found myself making excuses.

Edit - look at Roosh for example, he was ambushed on that TV show, he kept hos composure and even won over the audience. How many TV shows had he appeared on before?

I find it amusing how politcians are playing the body language game in front of the cameras.

Here is when Putin is meeting Blair, and then Bush.

You both jumped all over a valid observation.

A guy that writes and wants to sell a book on body language and claims to be an expert should be able to hold it together during an interview in a relaxed atmosphere.

20 posts about his "perfect" body language all the time when he's on camera on skype.

Whats behind the scenes about that?

20 asked for what everyone thought.

Ah, no, I didn't jump all over anything.

I made a comment about something specific you posted. An observation that is based on my own experiences.

I didn't say anything about his body language book. I talked about the video comment where you stated it was an inner confidence problem. I agreed but for reasons that it was new to him.

Skyping with a woman isn't even comparable to doing an interview with Roosh who happens to have a good size following. I don't understand how you can even try to correlate the two.

20Nation did ask for your thoughts. You gave them and I gave you my thoughts about your observations based on my experiences.

After all, this is suppose to be a discussion forum, no?
I agree with Fisto. I think Fisto was giving good marketing info. I mean pretty straight forward.

Btw until you can read someones sweat and heartbeat(like we cops can), you aren't a body language expert. A Psychologist once told me we are the closest to a body language expert as one can professionally get.
Mind you she was thinking of committing me to a padded room at the time ...so I will have to reconsider that lol.

TBH the movement of the hands didn't even get me thinking since in Brooklyn the normal speech pattern includes talking with hands. It is an Italian thing.

Yeah, talking into a camera can be a bitch...it is weird and unnatural. I also had the laughing problem. After all, you are talking to an inanimate object that isn't talking back.

I think what made most people notice 20N's body language more is because of the blocked face. If you can't see someone's facial expressions and cues then you focus on the body language that much more.

Is that really an accurate indicator? I am sure plenty of law abiding, innocent doing nothing wrong people might sweat or get nervous around cops.

Cool information and perspective in this video.

20Nation was nervous, he admitted this.

Being confident around girls and being confident in front of a camera can be two different things. I used to be confident in public speaking but not confident in talking to pretty girls. I was nervous to be on Mcqueens show but at the time, I was pretty confident around girls. Confidence can vary by circumstances, though, as MaleDefined and Fisto pointed out, it is possible to reach a level of confidence and/or comfort where almost no social environment will make one nervous. (only a handful of guys will ever reach this point)

Roosh appeared comfortable on camera. He has had much more practice.

When people publish a book, the public expects them to have an expert level of competence in the subject matter. I understand that and I generally agree with it, but, that said, I am working on a little college day game guide and I still make basic mistakes all the time. Even "the experts" are humans and they fuck up just like the rest of us from time to time.

I give 20Nation the benefit of the doubt because this was his first time on camera.

This is another reminder why young men should be RECORDING THEMSELVES ON CAMERA and studying the footage. Seeing yourself walk and talk is a real eye opener and it will greatly help you evolve your social skills. I recommend everyone do this exercise.

Fisto,
I agree with you-surfing is an awesome zen-like endeavor, and all men should try it at some point (if only for the psychological benefits). Its comparable to long range precision rifle shooting/sniping-where you get so dialed in you and focused that your mind takes you on a higher mental plane.

Fight training aside, you have a pretty intense military background that gives you mental toughness many civilians lack. You should share some of your hard earned wisdom on mental toughness.

A facet many overlook IMO is War and athletics are two far separate things that require a different mind set for success in each. If a man could only pick one to prepare for mentally and be on auto pilot-Id say being battle ready would be a more pragmatic choice.

20Nation is early to mid-twenties-when I was that age I was always hyper. I could workout 2-3xs/day very intensely and still be amped up and not be able to sit still.

I thought he did a good job with the interview.

His conceptualization of maintaining a frame of dominant and ruthless game psychology is a product idea that is long overdue for the marketplace and I look forward to getting a copy of his next game book.

My guess would be either Berlin or Hamburg. Those are the two cities where I saw the most amount of talent walking around.

Belarus tears ass as we say in Greece.Possibly the best place for hunters right now. However Russian language is needed.I will undertake again the pilgrimage to Poland it is inevitable and this time I hope it will be better.
We will test the waters to give Poland the place it really deserves in 2014.
