Mission to Moscow

This has been a long time coming.

Since sampling a taste in Kiev, tales of feminine beauty in Moscow have kept my soul restless for the ultimate slavic experience.

The visa process, and hours spent studying small child level Russian has been a royal hassle. Was it worth it?

St Petersburg is my theoretical end game city, but I'm going to give Moscow a fair shake first. Plan is to scout for 1 week.

Comitting to writing a daily update here is hard work, but i'm gonna do it for you guys. Plus it helps my motivation to perform.

Let it begin.

Tinder options far fewer than expected. For a metro area almost the size of NYC, online dating in general is a much smaller pool. That said, the talent is of course higher quality than NYC.

I despise clubs with a burning passion. Daygame it is.

Direct flight from Kiev under $100 usd. Metro is tricky at first. Signs are all in cyrillic alphabet, but I sound them out and find the right trains. Absolute beginner Russian is definitely required to navigate here.

Phone battery is dying, but I think I have enough charge to find my hotel. I'm stressing. But I think I'll make it.

Body odor is a problem. These guys ever hear of Right Guard?

Maybe it's due to the rainy day, but the day street quality here does not look as good as Kiev. It's probably the weather. I will reserve judgement until then.

Many more middle aged & old folks walking around Moscow than I was used to seeing in downtown Kiev. Speaking fo Kiev, I spent most of last week with regulars. We had a wonderful time catching up. 1 told me she hadn't been touched since. Another decided I wasn't serious enough about her when I told her I was leaving for Moscow. On my last day there, I daygame pulled a girl from the park, in a red dress & heels back to my apartment on my 2nd approach of the day. She wasn't keen to do anything, and I was leaving next day, but it really made me question my decision to leave a known poosy paradise in exchange for leaving my comfort zone to Moscow. But the decision was made. Thanks to Roosh for his recent post on choosing the path of growth. Sage advice.

Back to Moscow. The shady looking Hotel door is locked from the outside. There are signs all over it. Looks like they're out of business. Either that, or I fell for a scam website? I wait downstairs for 20 minutes in the pouring rain and giant luggage hoping my battery won't die while searching booking.com for another hotel.

Then the door swings open, and a babooshka lets me in. I'm soaking wet. She doesn't apologize or acknowledge that I, a paying customer, has been down there for 20 minutes to get in.

She also nye gavereet pangliski. But her 9 year old son does. He acts as translator, finally explaining that they made a mistake on the website, and the only room available is with other people. Yup. A shared hostel room. At this point I am just overjoyed that I have a place to sleep. The 2 of them spend the next 30 minutes figuring out how to find the keys, and the adjusted price. I have arrived in crazy town.

I head out to meet a pipelined brunette from Tinder. I asked her "what's a nice coffee place?". Somehow, this request was re-interpreted to "what's the most expensive sky lounge in Moscow?". I'm 10 minutes late due to misreading the metro map, but it's ok. She's 45 minutes late. But I can't be mad. She looks like a million bucks. Long legs, porn star heels, baby face. Skinny skinny girl. But that ass. Bubble butt that pops out like a cantelope.

20 minutes and a couple of $21 cocktails later, I learn that she's a western groupie, with ex boyfriends from London, Sydney, and Los Angeles. Quite the little flag collector. She also hates just about everything. Hates Moscow, hates people without class & manners, and don't even get her started on Ukraine! I artfully steer to convo to things she *does* like (shopping) "awesome! I like shopping too!", (traveling) "fanstastic!, and somethign else I can't remember.

She's warmed up a bit, and tells me, "you are so nice". Is she loosening up?

I have a very important business call to make, so I bring the date to a close, and escort her to the metro. I tell her to join me for a museum tour later in the week, and she agrees.

Tomorrow it is supposed to rain again, so I'm not sure if there will be any action for a few days here. But there will be action. This I promise you. Starting private Russian lessons tomorrow too. Will settle into my tiny 4 bunk room here momentarily.

I'm off to a rocky, but promising first day here in Moscow.

Welcome to town! Look forward to grabbing a drink. Today was a shit day, especially compared to the beautiful weather and transparent daytime dresses (showing panties and all) I've been seeing all through the city over the past few weeks.

Sucks about your hotel. What a way to arrive haha!

I didn't seem to get any traction on Tinder until I'd had it for months. I recently got back on after a month and had about 20 matches (4-5 looking solid). So, maybe it takes time for them to see your profile and queue up for you to message them...I don't know.

And yeah, metro stunk like ass today. When it's hot, it's bad, but when it's lukewarm and raining, hold your breath.

Speaking of the metro, I saw a 9 today in I think it was Pushkinskaya. I can probably count on two hands the number of legit 9s I've seen underground in 7+ months here. Top cream of the crop girls just don't go there. Plenty of 8s swarming underground though.

Hope the weather improves soon since you're only here a week.

I was there in October. Very few street signs and crosswalks. Got lost trying to find the American Embassy.

Glad you took the plunge and think you will do well.

Moscow is one big, crazy city so the experience alone will be something you'll remember. I'm highly curious in finding out your views on the key differences between women in Moscow and Kiev. Figure you'll be seeing more of the 'exotic' girls in Moscow (i.e. Tatars, Azeris, Armenian's etc.) which could be interesting for you.

Bars and restaurants are generally ridiculously expensive throughout Moscow so just be careful.

In addition to the metro, you can generally flag down gypsy cabs all over town and get around the center for 150-300 rubles, depending on the distance.

Maybe this is for another thread but how was Kiev in general when you were there? Pretty safe nowadays?

Be super careful with gypsy cabs at night if you are drunk. What about Russiancupid?

There are some clubs around Kitay Gorod station on the orange line. Worth checking out, although I would avoid Papas, too many expats.

No kidding. I've been somewhat screwed by them a few times and a friend of mine has been straight up robbed and temporarily kidnapped by them. Get the app and order a yellow cab if possible. These gypsy cabs, while often convenient, usually only charge slightly less, don't know their way around the city, and at the least will try to extort a few extra rubles from you upon delivery or at worst put a knife to your throat.

I like the gypsy cabs, gives you a good opportunity to practice your Russian, when you are pissed. Most of them come from Tajikistan though, so their Russian is probably just as bad. You might as well wait til 5:30 and get the first metro back home.
I would suggest checking out some of the Georgian and Armenian bars, especially if there is a wedding going on. Now that is an experience, puts a whole new level on the entertainment factor around Eurovision time.

Moscow is expensive as fuck. Its easy to spend $30 USD on dinner for 1. That's an average restaurant, with a soup, entree, and water. If you want a non-shitty room, you'll have to pony up well in excess of $125 per night. There is little middle ground here. Shitty rooms will still run you $60-$100, and are difficult to find. Plenty of cheap Hostels though, if that's an option for you.

They lack things here I've come to take for granted. Say, I don't know. Signs on a business?

I spent the whole day finding a new place to crash. It was an ordeal with language barriers, reservations on booking.com that had non-working telephone numbers, or non-findable addresses. By night, I finally snagged a private room on airbnb in the center.

Little to no street eye contact. This is totally opposite kiev, wroclaw, prague. Girls don't eye fuck here like they do in other slavic cities. Most seem to try to avoid it.

I had a terrible date tonight from Tinder. She was megan fox hot, with a good job. Right off the bat she's complaining about why I'm asking her such simple questions. She tells me it's "almost as if you don't know anything about Moscow.", as she breaks eye contact off to the side over a $19 cocktail. Just brutal.

The venue was very cool though. Mendeleev bar. Hidden away underneath an unassuming food place. It's like a secret club. I saw a guy get face controlled who was dressed nice. His other 2 friends went in without him. I'm glad I was with a chick.

Then I got power washed. I was walking back to the metro, along with a group of other pedestrians at night, and not really paying attention. You'd think they would stop or turn the hose away from people, but no.

Not gonna lie, today was a beat down kind of day. And Pres Carter flaked on me. Nail in the coffin! Just giving you shit man [Image: wink.gif]

But due to some street hollering & pipelining, I have 4 dates lined up for tomorrow. Again, one of my coffee/nice walk date suggestions got magically upgraded to "but this place is one of the fanciest with a great view and rooftop". Kill me now.

Mendeleev is definitely cool venue...have to go through that noodle restaurant through the back. I ordered a vodka soda there and paid 500 rubles. That was the only drink I ordered.

I had to laugh at the power washer story because I encountered one during the day while walking around, and yes, they do not give a fuck about you. Get out of the way or get wet. This is Russia.

You sound a little surprised about Moscow being expensive. I think you need to screen girls better. I never went out with anyone who wanted to go to a high end venue. Is this fancy place called Time Out by chance? Definitely a cool venue, but it ain't cheap. [Image: wink.gif] Why did you go hotel route? Airbnb central apartments can be had for $100-120/night. Hotels are a total ripoff here.

Glad you noticed the thing about signs. It's always a crap shoot. Nothing is written anywhere.

I think you need to settle down on a place and gather your thoughts. The talent is there, and so are more or less normal girls.

If these chicks go to high end venues at your expense and then don't put out, they do what is called dinamo (dee-nA-mo) in Russian. Just like anywhere else, it's a sign of disrespect. Definitely not cool. I'm not familiar with Moscow, but I would use the usual RVF game to avoid it:
- try to pick a venue yourself
- avoid chicks who insist on going to high end restaurants
- if you're going to a high end place, go to a bar/lounge for drinks
- coffee dates during the day
- the best venue for dates is the one near your place

Mendeleev is great...right below Lucky Noodles. Buddah Bar is right around the corner fyi...expensive as f*ck too and never all that good when I was there but heard it's gotten better.

One place I liked that's not too expensive is Dandy Cafe right off Novy Arbat. I think it's a Ginza Project place but I liked it for cheaper dates (cheap for Moscow at least). It's central and was a straight shot down the road to my old place so good logistics for most people. It's also has a small dance floor bar scene sometimes with DJs.

I agree completely with what Brodiaga said re location and date selection. You can end up wasting so much time with hot gold diggers like the ones at Soho Rooms for example. If she's insisting on going to a higher end place forget it - not worth it.

Also, add 'walks' to your list of date options....I always got good responses for those in the Summer- think Russian girls are just used to that and like to get out and about after being cooped up all winter.

Keep moving forward and laugh off the setbacks. Nothing easy about gaming the alpha primus in their centre of universe. Just keep pushing and it'll come when you least expect it.

Not sure how ling you are staying, but there are some cool golden cirlcle midsize cities not too far you cld check out on a weekend if you want to mix it up.

Also, be very careful about ppl spiking your drink or whores luring you into some holdup. Most dangerous are higher end after hour places, krisha криша used to be the best one, but have not been for a couple of years.

I've been in Moscow recently and can attest to the expensive prices, it can extend to 200 rubles for a basic tea at a Shokoladnitsa or Kofe Haus. If you avoid places like that you should be alright. If you have a high protein diet you can keep it simple and save money, for example by buying a whole cooked chicken from a street kiosk for 200 rubles, add another 10 rubles if you want it wrapped in lavash bread. It gets a bad rep here amongst the locals but I've had four in ten days and not felt ill once. Russian beers will almost always be priced lower than western ones, the cheapest I've seen in a bar is at the Kruzhka chain where it goes under 100 rubles, but given the reaction people have to it I'd avoid taking a decent girl there, it's generally a sausage fest, showing sports on TV and fairly crowded at the weekend. Better for a beer with friends than a date.

As for women, I last took one out five years ago, this time I've been here staying and visiting old friends so have not tried to meet women at all. However back then the ones I took out almost always started out going for a walk or visiting a museum, gallery, film etc. If girls are trying to get you into some expensive place on the first meeting I wouldn't bother. The most I ever paid was for a trip to TGI Friday's on a second date and she barely ordered anything. And yes, she came back with me that night, via a half-hour metro trip, spinning a story about not wanting to go home and wake up her grandmother so late in the evening...

One of the comments above where the girl didn't appreciate him having a lack of knowledge about Moscow isn't completely weird, knowing a bit about the country and the history can be a bonus. I know a fair bit about certain aspects of the country and have usually done well if I can tell them something they don't know. Don't be a smart-arse, but for example if you go for a walk round a park or an area, and you can tell them a story about the history of the place, it definitely surprises them and raises your value a bit.

Mission to Moscow

6 dates today. For all its shortcomings, let it not be said that Moscow can't keep a dedicated player busy.

Technically I had 4 pre-planned. The other 2 were extended instadates from street game. I spent the entire day buying 2 coffees and making the same jokes.

The first girl I met, based on a street approach from the day before, I scheduled early afternoon. This didn't stop her from showing up in a tight black club dress. As per her story, she was out the night before and slept over at a friends. She wasn't the most beautiful girl. 7 for sure. But a good personality.

Over coffee, when the question of American guys vs Russians came up, she said Russian guys don't like her. I said they are crazy. She laughed, and said, "here they have other girls, more beautiful than me". I told her " impossible!". More laughter. Later on, back on that subject, she accidentally blurted, "Americans are good in bed!" Then covered her mouth embarrassed. After hearing that, all I had to do was not fuck it up.

Bounced her to my apt a block away to show her some pictures. Massage. She wouldn't let me go down on her. Dome also a no-go. "Its not safe" she said. I froze her out, thinking it's some game. Then she said, "I will give blowjob, but only with condom on". I didn't understand it, but I also can't argue with any logic that resolves to blowjob.

The sex was awesome. My first real, non-americanized russian. Totally different experience. In the west, I find that girls who are DTF on a first date typically get off on being bad. This one, said " I hope I will be adequate".

I felt bad kicking her out an hour later, but I had a packed schedule with txts popping off like mad. I really should have had the decency to mute my phone.

The rest of the day is honestly a blur. Too many back to back dates, and checking my calendar & texts every 10 minutes for logistics & comfort building was exhausting. All girls were late. Some I kissed, some I didn't. I daygamed a 20 y/o virgin in a pink sundress into a day 2 tomorrow, as well as a 25 y/o party girl who knows all the hotspots.

My last date I set for a brunette I figured would be a sure thing. We drank at a cool little bowling alley near Smolenskaya. She came back after, but after 3 hours of resistance, I just passed out at 3am.

Today will be another packed day. Day game is very good here. I could do this all day on weekends when it's nice out, and pretty much everywhere are single girls wandering.

I spent at least $200 today on food & drinks. If that doesn't scare you off, Moscow is the only city I've been to that contends with NYC for sheer number of chances for magic to happen.
