The biggest factor is that women outlive men, so a high female to male sex ratio could just mean everyone is old. Plus there are other factors that may make a place full if women unattractive, like religiosity, lack of density, poor talent, etc.

Yes and the data is from 2008 but you would think the trends are similar dependent on birth rates etc
