Make up some crap...say you're here working with a client, a colleague, possible business relations for future projects, etc. If people ask you if you how long you're going to stay...I dunno..either lie or say that you'll be back for more visits to ease their minds in that you are somehow vested in the city.
Coming from other Brazilian cities where passing by or even "visiting a friend" was considered "ok," I realized that Sampa was a different beast. I didn't make this adjustment until my final day in São Paulo. This is a place that attracts many domestic Brazilians and international travelers though what they have in common is being there for "work." If visiting, locals are going ask you "what you do" or "what kind of work are you doing down here." Play...to their fantasies...intrigue them...it'll boost your confidence & frame when approaching in return. Ok let's let's move on.
Hostility from Local Male Professionals
Having visited other BRL cities in the past...I'd have to say this was the first time I encountered this issue. I don't believe locals like Shotgun, O Cartola, or Ringo have dealt with this...yet..it was a problem with me. Cockblocking in bars/clubs, white knighting, patronizing comments in English when I originally spoke Portuguese, and just dirty looks on the streets. Can't remember ever dealing with cockblocking in Brazil ever before...though it could be different for local dudes.
Met Shotgun...missed out on Ringo..but the coolest dude I met in São Paulo was a guy visiting friends from Mato Grosso do Sul other than that. Was invited to their table by chicks at Panorama lounge in Jardins..and the male transplant professionals didn't acknowledge me at all whereas the chicks were curious to know more about me. Sure there were more instances of that. Even an American ex-pat worker I met at Woods Bar could relate to the same reception I got. Not a big problem at all...but it's something that threw me off guard.
Local Women in São Paulo
Bitch shields in clubs..much like the other Brazilian cities..but still very much gameable & conversational. This was the one place where I met many tall lanky working models too...makes sense Sampa is the fashion/economic capital of Latin America. You'll find plenty of talent walking around Jardins during the day (something I should've done more of) and especially Avenida Paulista once work gets out 5-7PM.
Daygaming was doable but unlike other Brazilian cities (not Curitiba), women will give you good instructions and then walk away immediately for precautionary reasons. Understandable I guess. Good opener is always "de onde você é?" or asking for instructions because there are plenty of women here from other parts of Brazil working as professionals. I'd maybe stick to a slower-paced safe area with upscale cafés like Jardins or Itaim Bibi dressed up in preppy athletic gear to fit in with the upper middle class or something stylish to generate more daygame opportunities without scaring locals in a rush away.
I'm going to give São Paulo a huge edge over Rio de Janeiro in terms of local talent. Average middle class girl is likely going to be more well-groomed and thinner than many Cariocas that have just given up on life. In terms of fatties..I'd say I saw too many of them in Rio and a growing amount in Curitiba due to everybody there buying cars as a status sign instead of opting for more frequent walking.

This is true of women from small towns period that move to São Paulo for professional reasons...they become corrupted. This is also very prevalent with not just females, but the male professionals that have relocated there...it's as if they "try way too hard" now that they made it in the big city...but I'm sure this would be true of an American from a small town who has made the successful shift into the big city too. Prevalent in São Paulo for sure.
A São Paulo local is also generally going to be less interested in your gringo status than a transplant who relocated to the city for work too.
With regards to the other transplants coming up...keep in mind he is referring to the women from certain regions that relocated to Sampa...who are obviously going to be different than the females of those areas still living in their home states....as he admited to me about not getting the opportunity to travel outside of Rio/Sampa due to his work sched

The Mineiras in Belo Horizonte seemed to be more of the chill whatever types. Ones I met in São Paulo however seemed to be more of the "I need to be in a relationship especially since I'm out of my comfort zone away from home." That might be the difference between Mineiras in each BH or Sampa. They are definitely hotter in BH than the ones that relocated to Sampa though...least from my sampling encounters.
I think of Mineiras as everything Cariocas should be...though Rio gals are probably going to have better English levels. If able to speak Portuguese..Mineiras are going to be more interested in your foreigner status likely....
If meeting one of these transplant gals in São Paulo, their English levels will be much lower than the average Paulistana but will take more interest in you if able to communicate with them.
Makes a great point about Gaúchas living in Sampa..very friendly..will want to exchange info...send Whatsapp messages..though not bang immediately (least in my case with the Gaúchas I met in Sampa..ran out of time). They are ALL about Rio Grande do Sul & talk about the miniscule stuff in their state..but are very friendly still. They're definitely proud Brazilians too...but just all about Rio do Sul first & foremost.

I have a question about D-Edge for anyone who has any experience. Is it tough to get into or can anyone just get in? It looks super tight and its one of the top 100 clubs in the world. In October I will arrive in Sao Paulo on Saturday afternoon and fly out Sunday afternoon. Thinking about staying at the Renaissance and just hitting that place up.

I've heard Thurs is only night to go...can unexpectedly be a gay night Fri/Sat as witnessed by Shotgun couple weeks ago lol.
Sat night...I would probably recommend Provocateur. It's a 200 Real Consumption minimum before 1AM for guys. Talent there is friendlier on a Sat night than Thurs...but the cockblocking of foreign men is going to be more evident (least in my case). Club will get hopping at 2AM though till about 6AM. I'd say DJs was probably better on Thurs than Sat however.
Wouldn't be a bad idea if you want to run street game on that block of bars though near Provocateur (what I should've done Sat night instead of entering again). The place itself is a nice venue worth checking out.

I'm only there for one night because I got some crazy mistake fare that is sending me here for one night, Iguazu Falls for 2, and then Rio for 7. and somehow it let me fit in one night there. The issue is sadly I won't have a lot of time for any game. I will still try but I am more focused on just going out and having a good time to start off my week long trip. My plane lands at 4:40 pm and I leave the next day at 1:43. Thats kind of why I wanted to check out D-Edge. The visuals look pretty stunning. Unfortunately wherever I go out I'm not going to be able to stay out all night.
I might have to check out Provocateur though. You said its 200 minimum before 1 am? What happens if I went after 1? And how expensive are drinks? Could I drink 200 reals worth in 3 hours?

Understandable! Provocateur might be your best bet then for a Saturday night. There will be models, hot chicks, etc there with some decent English levels.

It's best to show up at 12:40AM. I'll send you a PM shortly too (if you want). After 1AM, the minimum could go up to 250/300/350 Reais..who knows...the increase would hurt the wallet somehow lol.
Drinks are going to be from 20-40 Reais each. Kinda pricey...but at same time, each drink will be VERY strong. I suggest ordering just bottles of water for 10 Reais each after the 2nd drink to stay semi-sober while talking to gals. Pretty sure you can drink 200 Reais in 3 hours because the beverages will be strong enough that you can order a 3rd or 4th after the waters.

Friday is gay night at D.edge. Thursday and Saturday aren't... But they're still gay friendly and the club is filled with sausage. By all means go if you want to check out the venue and the music, but don't expect to have a lot of targets to work on. It used to be good for pick up until some two years ago, not anymore because ratios have gone to shit. Provocateur is a better bet for saturdays as Brosemite pointed out.

I'd highly stick to one place as the bars around the block of Provocateur will be great for pre-gaming as well 9PM-12:30AM

My personal testimony
Strategy: With regards to pure gaming, my strategy in São Paulo was maybe not the best. I treated this as a 5 day vacation eating at certain places, sightseeing, being able to work out for long periods at Parque Ibirapuera, and then partying/gaming at clubs in an attempt to really learn all ins/outs of the city. Still....this is a place where...I should've pulled..and I have a sour taste from not..well..."pulling it off" in the economic capital of Latin America.
Weather Late May 2014: The first couple of days were 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit...then the last days were filled with drizzle, rain, and a constant breeze at 50 Fahrenheit. I don't believe a blazer or sweater was really necessary..though I brought both anyways..and was able to utilize them.
City Size/Atmosphere - It's a pretty massive place that will consume your energy quite easily. There's no shortage of options & getting a "sample" of everything is an overwhelming task even "without gaming." Neighborhoods were incredibly walkable not to mention going to every spot by foot is feasible...it's just the distances that are a killer. Walking at peak periods like in the early evening rush hours might be faster at times since traffic on the streets/metro are hell.
Preserving your health is also a big challenge here too trying to cover as much ground as possible. Still..it's very possible to pull in 5 or so days if that is your only task at hand utilizing bar/day/street/club game.

Getting in From Guarulhos Airport - This is most likely your first-case scenario as this airpot farther from town fields many domestic and essentially all the international flights. If flying a foreign airline like American, United, US Air, Delta, British Airways, Iberia, etc...the best option for getting into town would be a shuttle bus costing 37 Reais from the airport into the Maksoud Hotel. It's a plaza slightly north of Avenida Paulista that will give you much cheaper taxi rides into your lodging accomodations.

Where to Stay - If the goal is to sightsee and have good access to "everything," I'd recommend Jardins or Jardim Paulista. It has good access to the metros taking you everywhere not to mention the neighborhood itself is really cool for cafés, restaurants, daygaming, good cheap cafeteria food, etc.
I probably took good advantage of the area as a tourist needing access to the metros, Parque Ibirapuera, and reasonable cab rides into Itaim/Vila Olimpia...but If I had more time & higher energy levels...should have taken more time to just daygame the malls and enjoy the atmosphere of the neighborhood itself.
If needing access to all the bars/nightlife with no interest in sightseeing...maybe Itaim Bibi/Vila Olimpia would be the best. I never got a chance to daygame the area and went there for clubbing purposes. I did however stroll around the radius of Rua Jerônimo da Vega where there were many bars/cafês at night...sadly went into Provocateur to test out Sat night (though I should've continued running street game)

Cab Rides - Within the city...cab rides between Jardins and Itaim/Brooklin should be the only necessity IMO. A one way trip between areas will go from 17 to 27 Reais..depending on how bad traffic is. Though I really liked Vila Madalena in Pinheiros...everything just seemed like a boteco with mixed groups that aren't good for an insta-pull so a cab ride out there alone should not be a priority IMO.
I'd say just go use metro or walk everywhere if you're staying in Jardins really outside of nightlife purposes.
Other Points of Interest on Map
Avenida Paulista - One of the more interesting things you will see on Avenida Paulista besides all the office buildings and commercial real estate are the hotties leaving work from 5-7PM. It could be good for daygame, but my attempts to ask directions were greeted favorably yet the gals fleed the scene immediately after giving me good advice (perhaps for safety reasons).
Avenida Paulista being a border too as you see on the map separates the "grittier" areas north of it from the upscale "Jardins" south of it. It's not quite the border separating rough Harlem and Upper East/West Sides in Manhattan, but it's an interesting aspect of São Paulo. North of Avenida Paulista are Consoloção (Hipster) and Bela Vista (Gritty Italian-esque) neighborhood. To the west is Pinheiros/Vila Madalena and south of course upscale Jardins/Jardim Paulista.
Consolação - Young professionals of the hipster/alternative vibe are probably a good fit here. Besides some very small concert venues, the only other things I saw here were a mini-health club every other block? Was strange. Rua Augusta is the main street, which is a BIG contrast from Rua Augusta south of Avenida Paulista being more upscale. Some good bakeries too.
Bela Vista - Rua Avanhandava is the well-known street of expensive Italian restaurants here. Definitely worth a try if with a big group. If eating solo here, likely not worth it because the restaurants here typically cater to groups looking to share some entrees. Still pretty cool to look at though. Bela Vista itself is pretty cool, but it's apparently not as safe to walk around alone as it is in Jardins just south of the place. There seemed to be a cool restaurant/bar with a patio right behind the MASP/Avenida Paulista (Big Red Museum Building) along Avenida Noveno de Julho with many hotties. Didn't get to try it out.
Vila Madelena - I wouldn't really stay in this area because it's a bit far off from everything..but the neighborhood itself is really cool. Maybe a good place to go with friends near "Rua Aspicuelta" or perhaps with a girl you've banged in the past already..but for a first date yet to bang or cold approach attempts...probably not. There are too many mixed group botecos around here though very chic looking.
If I were to to compare Vila Madalena with areas in certain US cities, I'd say it's a nicer version of Virginia Highlands in Atlanta or Lower Greenville in Dallas with more beautiful modern residential properties...especially along Rua Madalena.
Centro - Kind of like any "Centro" in a Brazilian city, this area is going to be a dump but with some cool things to see in the daytime. Mercado Municipal is there offering that famous Mortadella Sandwich at Bar do Mané. Sandwich was awesome...but there seem to be many other sandwich shops worth trying there too with other types of meat too.
Liberdade - Their version of Japan/Asia town. Grimy..like many other Asian towns in other cities worldwide. Grocery stores have reasonably priced bento boxes, pre-made food, and microwavable pot stickers, which are cool. But my question is...where are all the restaurants? Lol. Maybe I was walking around in the rain that screwed things up...but there just seem to be a much higher density of cheap eats in Chinatown, NY than in Liberdade..leading me my next point....
Density of Restaurants - This is kind of a minor complaint about São Paulo in general..the density of restaurants/food options isn't as tightly packed as it should be. If I walked around NYC, London, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Mexico City, or even Rio de Janeiro for 20 minutes, there's a good chance I would've at least passed by 50 or so decent food options. In São Paulo...you'll be lucky to spot 10-12 places...maybe it's the scattered nature of the city..perhaps it's the fact that Sampa has one of the highest commercial real estate prices in the world...still...to say that any of those cities mentioned don't have high rent prices would be a lie. The main positive is not seeing the # of fatties around that I did in Rio de Janeiro though as Paulistanas seemed much slimmer.
Jardins/Jardim Paulista & Itaim Bibi - Check out that section on "where to stay."
Linha Esmeralda (Emerald Line) - The newest metro line in São Paulo. It's definitely worth checking out at night as you'll get some breathtaking views of the river separating Morumbi to the east and then the Itaim Bibi/Vila Olimpia/Brooklin areas to the west. Sorry if you think I get a kick out of the little things like this..., but it's quite cool.

My personal testimony
Strategy: With regards to pure gaming, my strategy in São Paulo was maybe not the best. I treated this as a 5 day vacation eating at certain places, sightseeing, being able to work out for long periods at Parque Ibirapuera, and then partying/gaming at clubs in an attempt to really learn all ins/outs of the city. Still....this is a place where...I should've pulled..and I have a sour taste from not..well..."pulling it off" in the economic capital of Latin America.
Weather Late May 2014: The first couple of days were 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit...then the last days were filled with drizzle, rain, and a constant breeze at 50 Fahrenheit. I don't believe a blazer or sweater was really necessary..though I brought both anyways..and was able to utilize them.
City Size/Atmosphere - It's a pretty massive place that will consume your energy quite easily. There's no shortage of options & getting a "sample" of everything is an overwhelming task even "without gaming." Neighborhoods were incredibly walkable not to mention going to every spot by foot is feasible...it's just the distances that are a killer. Walking at peak periods like in the early evening rush hours might be faster at times since traffic on the streets/metro are hell.
Preserving your health is also a big challenge here too trying to cover as much ground as possible. Still..it's very possible to pull in 5 or so days if that is your only task at hand utilizing bar/day/street/club game.

Panorama (Tues night) - My first night in Sao Paulo was at this upscale lounge playing good deep groove house. Minimum cost? $120 Reais Consumption. Each drink was about 25-40 Reais each..solution, order the cheapest liquor based drink and bottled water to stay semi-sober. I didn't follow that rule and got drunk after 3 drinks as the pours were strong. It's pretty hard penetrating the tables here at first as you'll have many closed groups sitting outside on the patios chatting amongst themselves.
The best time to make a move would be opening a mixed set or girls smoking on the steps. In my case, the opener was "voces sao d'aqui em Sao Paulo" (Are you guys from Sao Paulo originally). Answer was no. We talked & they were interested in the fact that I spoke Portuguese so I got invited to their table upstairs inside. Group ended up being from Mato Grosso do Sul as they were successful professionals in the medical field. The coolest guy was one on his way to UCSB in California for a study abroad program...(arrived literally a day before the shootings there....). Anyways, the chicks were pretty chill and the other two guys were "too cool for school" not acknowledging me.
One thing lead to another, girls at table shot me down when I decided to escalate...was lead outside towards other tables chatting up other chicks...back upstairs where I grinded up some cute chick though she was slightly chubby. Only got some kissing in, but she wouldn't go home with me. I arrived at Panorama slightly before midnight only to somehow stay until 4:00AM getting nothing. Back home I went..cool place, but wouldn't recommend for ONS pull.
Woods Bar (Wed night) - Though Sertanejo bars are a "power play" for native Brazilian dudes, this genre of music and setting is my kryptonite. The cover itself was $60.00 Reais not including drinks. Though I hear $200 Reais consumption can lead one upstairs into the VIP area, which has more hotties & less thirsty dudes. My instincts said get some rest Wednesday night, but I stopped by anyways since I was taking pictures of the bridge (Ponte Octavio Frias) in Vila Olimpia.
Not a good idea, lol. Talent was amazing, but most of the talent was concentrated up in VIP area. Too bad I didn't know about the consumption rule beforehand. I did need to use the restroom badly (#2) so the facilities were really clean with enough toilets in abundance. The approaches were quite off though. Best chance I had was with some chick alone though she was watching a beer of another American dude who I got along with upon his arrival..not territorial whatsover. Last time ever rolling solo into a Sertanejo bar....
Vila Madalena (Thursday Night) - I didn't have any plans to really drink in Vila Madalena Thursday night though stopped by during 8PM to just walk around the neighborhood & check out the scene. Most of the concentrated bars were located on Rua Aspicuelta. I even checked out Boteco de São Bento based on recommendations...no offense to those who suggested it...but it looked the same as all the other botecos in the area, lol. Vila Madalena is a cool bohemian neighborhood to meet friends...but for a date night with an unbanged chick or to put in cold approaches..wouldn't recommend it as logistics are not favorable. Might be an ok place to take a gal you've already banged in past though. More info on Vila Madalena in my post above regarding neighborhood analysis...
Provocateur (Night 1) - First night out in Provocateur. It's best to get there before 1AM as the consumption rule ($200 Reais) increases after that time. The club itself doesn't open till 12:30 AM though. Cool chic area of bars and cafes surround that area of Itaim Bibi. Just ask people where the other bars/streets are and they'll guide you in right direction.
DJ there that night was solid. Met a gorgeous first gal...escalated a bit..flirted..but not any kissing that night...she left early. We switched info. 2nd group of gals I approached were cool and from Guarulhos. Didn't go anywhere..got separated. And then everything else was an epic blowout of female cockblocking. I had never seen so many tall female models in my life...that were up there in height (possibly without heels too).
My funniest blowout was with a model from Abu Dabi. Opened in Portuguese, but she didn't understand. Her friends then explained she was from Middle East...switched to English as they immediately replied "she is good Muslim girl" only to punch the crap out of my arms and chest. Geez easy there. I remember getting smacked a bit on the arm from quite a few gals. Hostile crowd.
As a foreigner..my classic push & pull escalation game pays off in the States...in Sao Paulo..it was either ineffective (not aggressive enough) or met with animosity since I was a foreigner. Meanwhile, Brazilian dudes seemed as if they could just walk up to a girl..grab her..demand a makeout without any negative consequences from neighboring spectators..works at times (primarily with gals they already know via pre-existing contacts)...at other times didn't. Quite a tough situation to figure out.
Aurora (Friday Night) - Cool restaurant/bar that I heard was more highly recommended on Sunday night as it switched into a more mix/mingle club setting. Good DJ to start off sets before the live band eventually performed. Shotgun and I used this as a meetup point to shoot the shit and learn more about each other. As I mentioned in other posts...cool dude..and for a Brazilian possessed terrific sarcasm and a dry sense of humor, haha. It's worth mentioning we opened up a mix set to find a gal who lived in San Antonio, TX. She was surprised to find out I was a Texan myself who spoke Portuguese too..so we switched info (she hasn't replied yet lol). After some pre-gaming, we took our talents to....
She Rocks (Friday Night) - the second destination of the night. Cool venue. Live cover bands. $60 Reais cover charge per guy. I opened first talking to multiple chicks that seemed interested. It took most of these gals like 10-15 of speaking to each for them to finally bid adieu and walk elsewhere. In the meantime, I see Shotgun making out with the first chick he approached who was HOT, haha. After 8 or 9 gals and tons of cockblocking/white knighting from local Brazilian dudes, I literally ran out of targets to approach as Shotgun was nowhere to be found. Thinking he had already left for the dirty deed...I got curious about other places....
Royal Club (Friday Night) - I thought about visiting this venue Tuesday..but overstayed my time in Panorama. Just like She Rocks, the cover was once again $60.00 Reais. This place is like Provocateur except not as nice though with an upstairs smoking patio that the prior lacks. The club itself implements a little more hip hop into the house music mixes as well. Much like She Rocks, I was dealt with more white knighting and cockblocking from Brazilian dudes here too as they were simultaneously imposing their caveman game on chicks. I felt like an NBA player not getting the breaks & calls as the home team was able to manipulate the refs into more favorable looks at the bucket...
On the smoking patio were some pretty hot chicks..but of course..the thirsty local Paulistanos took great advantage of that out muscling yours truly...at 4:30AM..I got fed up and thought about calling it quits. Though there were some buzzed females that could've resulted in some lucky bounces for myself...they were quickly hovered by once again local dudes. Got a text from Shotgun indicating he did not pull first target. He asked about coming to Royal, but I responded "no" bc I didn't want to waste his time or money as the scene = meh. It eventually lead him to him following another chick to D-Edge and pulling a ONS in a nearby sex motel though lol.
Change in Strategy - For my last night in Sao Paulo, I decided on changing my strategy..or well parts of it. My "catch phrase" in previous nights was telling people I was in town visiting a friend though they didn't have availability that specific night.
BAD MOVE
I adopted the phrase "here working on a project with a client and should be back as I'm making a great deal of progress." Something had to give, but I immediately felt more self-confidence trying that phase in interactions with strangers.
Walking Around Jardins (Sat Night) - Prior to Saturday, I only used Jardins as a central point to the Metro stops or clubbing options at night. This was probably the first evening I utilized it to just stroll around at my own pace, which made me think...."why the hell didn't I do this earlier?"

I came to the realization there was a yuppy girl scene in Sampa uninterested in clubbing that should've been infiltrated...but I didn't. So after some more walking...went back to the apartment for a wardrobe change and it was all in to make this last night one to remember.
All Black's Irish Pub (Sat Night) - Nice little Irish Bar with an upscale twist in Jardins (Rua Oscar Freire)...thing is..I never entered. At Midnight on a Saturday, there was a big line and no way in hell I was going to stick around just to enter. In line, I chatted up some people telling them I was in Sao Paulo for a work project & noticed there was a hot chick waiting on a specific cab along with her female friends. So..I ditched the line..and opened gal with "Vc ta esperando para um taxi?" with my arms around her shoulder. Discussions ensued and then we were making out in minutes. The party ended when her friends demanded she go with them, but info was exchanged. An easy lay would've been nice, but it was still 12:30 AM and wanted to do more exploring my last night....
Itaim Bibi/Rua Jeronimo da Veiga (Saturday Night) - On the way to Provocateur..I noticed there were just a higher abundance of girls at nearby venues such as Wall Street Bar, Bar Vaca Veia, and Itaim Vermont of the yuppy variety not engaged in the club scene. I was cutting it a bit close as entering Provocateur a bit later could've lead to higher costs....but...the fear of not capitalizing in such a short time on street/bar approaches triggered into....
Provocateur (Sat Night - Part 2) - Bitch shields were much lower this time around..but the problem lied within there being much thirstier dudes cockblocking in a more competitive sense opposed to white knighting. The DJ also wasn't as good as Thursday. Much to my dismay, I also encountered a lot of the same faces seen at clubs from nights before...especially the hot brunette I exchanged info with Thursday...oh my was this fate?
The highlight of Provocateur was some old fake titty cougar & soso face I encountered multiple times that night. Turned down first couple times only for her to come back and demand multiple makeouts with me. After some more chatting and exchanged info with other girls leaving, I decided to approach Thursday girl again...only to be knocked off by some other aggressive dude. It wasn't so much him that was effective, but Thursday chick's female friend was TOTALLY into the wingman. Thursday girl finally decided to call it a night (I realized she had a kid) and went home alone with her friend leaving me in the dust with..well..nothing yet again in Sao Paulo.
On the way out of Provocateur..I see soso face big titty cougar trying to get her home with me. Since she saw me ramping up aggression with other chicks after the makeouts, it resulted in her not wanting to bone that night...ugh.
Final Sunday - The final Sunday was highlighted with me packing my shit hungover for an evening flight. I also got text messages from Thursday Provocateur girl and the Irish Pub chick. Tired as balls...there was no will to get them over for a last minute bone not to mention I had to check out and see Ringo from RVF. Well...no last day lay...and I didn't get to see Ringo due to miscommunication & 3G errors delaying our Whatsapp messages. All I could do was spend my final rainy evening consuming a rather enjoyable cafezinho in Jardins before heading out to the airport shuttle bus.
Concluding Thoughts - Sao Paulo kicked my ass physically and mentally as I was just.....not able to overcome a lot of funny bounces & had difficulty finding my niche target until the 4th day. The atmosphere is a quite the grind, but that challenge is something that has me yearning for more though with a more effective gameplan next time around.
The females here lack the homeliness of say..a Mineira or a Gaucha...but the quality in regards to appearances is top notch without many fatties. A sour taste from Sampa continues to linger in my mouth as I wilted in arguably the country's biggest stage. Even with more notches to come once living in Brazil & increased social circles/gaming opportunities...I feel that my mission in the country will never be complete without that Paulistana flag on their "home turf." The ultimate litmus test for any player with "sincere interest" in Brazil would definitely be Sao Paulo.

Panorama (Tues night) - My first night in Sao Paulo was at this upscale lounge playing good deep groove house. Minimum cost? $120 Reais Consumption. Each drink was about 25-40 Reais each..solution, order the cheapest liquor based drink and bottled water to stay semi-sober. I didn't follow that rule and got drunk after 3 drinks as the pours were strong. It's pretty hard penetrating the tables here at first as you'll have many closed groups sitting outside on the patios chatting amongst themselves.
The best time to make a move would be opening a mixed set or girls smoking on the steps. In my case, the opener was "voces sao d'aqui em Sao Paulo" (Are you guys from Sao Paulo originally). Answer was no. We talked & they were interested in the fact that I spoke Portuguese so I got invited to their table upstairs inside. Group ended up being from Mato Grosso do Sul as they were successful professionals in the medical field. The coolest guy was one on his way to UCSB in California for a study abroad program...(arrived literally a day before the shootings there....). Anyways, the chicks were pretty chill and the other two guys were "too cool for school" not acknowledging me.
One thing lead to another, girls at table shot me down when I decided to escalate...was lead outside towards other tables chatting up other chicks...back upstairs where I grinded up some cute chick though she was slightly chubby. Only got some kissing in, but she wouldn't go home with me. I arrived at Panorama slightly before midnight only to somehow stay until 4:00AM getting nothing. Back home I went..cool place, but wouldn't recommend for ONS pull.
Woods Bar (Wed night) - Though Sertanejo bars are a "power play" for native Brazilian dudes, this genre of music and setting is my kryptonite. The cover itself was $60.00 Reais not including drinks. Though I hear $200 Reais consumption can lead one upstairs into the VIP area, which has more hotties & less thirsty dudes. My instincts said get some rest Wednesday night, but I stopped by anyways since I was taking pictures of the bridge (Ponte Octavio Frias) in Vila Olimpia.
Not a good idea, lol. Talent was amazing, but most of the talent was concentrated up in VIP area. Too bad I didn't know about the consumption rule beforehand. I did need to use the restroom badly (#2) so the facilities were really clean with enough toilets in abundance. The approaches were quite off though. Best chance I had was with some chick alone though she was watching a beer of another American dude who I got along with upon his arrival..not territorial whatsover. Last time ever rolling solo into a Sertanejo bar....
Vila Madalena (Thursday Night) - I didn't have any plans to really drink in Vila Madalena Thursday night though stopped by during 8PM to just walk around the neighborhood & check out the scene. Most of the concentrated bars were located on Rua Aspicuelta. I even checked out Boteco de São Bento based on recommendations...no offense to those who suggested it...but it looked the same as all the other botecos in the area, lol. Vila Madalena is a cool bohemian neighborhood to meet friends...but for a date night with an unbanged chick or to put in cold approaches..wouldn't recommend it as logistics are not favorable. Might be an ok place to take a gal you've already banged in past though. More info on Vila Madalena in my post above regarding neighborhood analysis...
Provocateur (Night 1) - First night out in Provocateur. It's best to get there before 1AM as the consumption rule ($200 Reais) increases after that time. The club itself doesn't open till 12:30 AM though. Cool chic area of bars and cafes surround that area of Itaim Bibi. Just ask people where the other bars/streets are and they'll guide you in right direction.
DJ there that night was solid. Met a gorgeous first gal...escalated a bit..flirted..but not any kissing that night...she left early. We switched info. 2nd group of gals I approached were cool and from Guarulhos. Didn't go anywhere..got separated. And then everything else was an epic blowout of female cockblocking. I had never seen so many tall female models in my life...that were up there in height (possibly without heels too).
My funniest blowout was with a model from Abu Dabi. Opened in Portuguese, but she didn't understand. Her friends then explained she was from Middle East...switched to English as they immediately replied "she is good Muslim girl" only to punch the crap out of my arms and chest. Geez easy there. I remember getting smacked a bit on the arm from quite a few gals. Hostile crowd.
As a foreigner..my classic push & pull escalation game pays off in the States...in Sao Paulo..it was either ineffective (not aggressive enough) or met with animosity since I was a foreigner. Meanwhile, Brazilian dudes seemed as if they could just walk up to a girl..grab her..demand a makeout without any negative consequences from neighboring spectators..works at times (primarily with gals they already know via pre-existing contacts)...at other times didn't. Quite a tough situation to figure out.
Aurora (Friday Night) - Cool restaurant/bar that I heard was more highly recommended on Sunday night as it switched into a more mix/mingle club setting. Good DJ to start off sets before the live band eventually performed. Shotgun and I used this as a meetup point to shoot the shit and learn more about each other. As I mentioned in other posts...cool dude..and for a Brazilian possessed terrific sarcasm and a dry sense of humor, haha. It's worth mentioning we opened up a mix set to find a gal who lived in San Antonio, TX. She was surprised to find out I was a Texan myself who spoke Portuguese too..so we switched info (she hasn't replied yet lol). After some pre-gaming, we took our talents to....
She Rocks (Friday Night) - the second destination of the night. Cool venue. Live cover bands. $60 Reais cover charge per guy. I opened first talking to multiple chicks that seemed interested. It took most of these gals like 10-15 of speaking to each for them to finally bid adieu and walk elsewhere. In the meantime, I see Shotgun making out with the first chick he approached who was HOT, haha. After 8 or 9 gals and tons of cockblocking/white knighting from local Brazilian dudes, I literally ran out of targets to approach as Shotgun was nowhere to be found. Thinking he had already left for the dirty deed...I got curious about other places....
Royal Club (Friday Night) - I thought about visiting this venue Tuesday..but overstayed my time in Panorama. Just like She Rocks, the cover was once again $60.00 Reais. This place is like Provocateur except not as nice though with an upstairs smoking patio that the prior lacks. The club itself implements a little more hip hop into the house music mixes as well. Much like She Rocks, I was dealt with more white knighting and cockblocking from Brazilian dudes here too as they were simultaneously imposing their caveman game on chicks. I felt like an NBA player not getting the breaks & calls as the home team was able to manipulate the refs into more favorable looks at the bucket...
On the smoking patio were some pretty hot chicks..but of course..the thirsty local Paulistanos took great advantage of that out muscling yours truly...at 4:30AM..I got fed up and thought about calling it quits. Though there were some buzzed females that could've resulted in some lucky bounces for myself...they were quickly hovered by once again local dudes. Got a text from Shotgun indicating he did not pull first target. He asked about coming to Royal, but I responded "no" bc I didn't want to waste his time or money as the scene = meh. It eventually lead him to him following another chick to D-Edge and pulling a ONS in a nearby sex motel though lol.
Change in Strategy - For my last night in Sao Paulo, I decided on changing my strategy..or well parts of it. My "catch phrase" in previous nights was telling people I was in town visiting a friend though they didn't have availability that specific night.
BAD MOVE
I adopted the phrase "here working on a project with a client and should be back as I'm making a great deal of progress." Something had to give, but I immediately felt more self-confidence trying that phase in interactions with strangers.
Walking Around Jardins (Sat Night) - Prior to Saturday, I only used Jardins as a central point to the Metro stops or clubbing options at night. This was probably the first evening I utilized it to just stroll around at my own pace, which made me think...."why the hell didn't I do this earlier?"
I came to the realization there was a yuppy girl scene in Sampa uninterested in clubbing that should've been infiltrated...but I didn't. So after some more walking...went back to the apartment for a wardrobe change and it was all in to make this last night one to remember.
All Black's Irish Pub (Sat Night) - Nice little Irish Bar with an upscale twist in Jardins (Rua Oscar Freire)...thing is..I never entered. At Midnight on a Saturday, there was a big line and no way in hell I was going to stick around just to enter. In line, I chatted up some people telling them I was in Sao Paulo for a work project & noticed there was a hot chick waiting on a specific cab along with her female friends. So..I ditched the line..and opened gal with "Vc ta esperando para um taxi?" with my arms around her shoulder. Discussions ensued and then we were making out in minutes. The party ended when her friends demanded she go with them, but info was exchanged. An easy lay would've been nice, but it was still 12:30 AM and wanted to do more exploring my last night....
Itaim Bibi/Rua Jeronimo da Veiga (Saturday Night) - On the way to Provocateur..I noticed there were just a higher abundance of girls at nearby venues such as Wall Street Bar, Bar Vaca Veia, and Itaim Vermont of the yuppy variety not engaged in the club scene. I was cutting it a bit close as entering Provocateur a bit later could've lead to higher costs....but...the fear of not capitalizing in such a short time on street/bar approaches triggered into....
Provocateur (Sat Night - Part 2) - Bitch shields were much lower this time around..but the problem lied within there being much thirstier dudes cockblocking in a more competitive sense opposed to white knighting. The DJ also wasn't as good as Thursday. Much to my dismay, I also encountered a lot of the same faces seen at clubs from nights before...especially the hot brunette I exchanged info with Thursday...oh my was this fate?
The highlight of Provocateur was some old fake titty cougar & soso face I encountered multiple times that night. Turned down first couple times only for her to come back and demand multiple makeouts with me. After some more chatting and exchanged info with other girls leaving, I decided to approach Thursday girl again...only to be knocked off by some other aggressive dude. It wasn't so much him that was effective, but Thursday chick's female friend was TOTALLY into the wingman. Thursday girl finally decided to call it a night (I realized she had a kid) and went home alone with her friend leaving me in the dust with..well..nothing yet again in Sao Paulo.
On the way out of Provocateur..I see soso face big titty cougar trying to get her home with me. Since she saw me ramping up aggression with other chicks after the makeouts, it resulted in her not wanting to bone that night...ugh.
Final Sunday - The final Sunday was highlighted with me packing my shit hungover for an evening flight. I also got text messages from Thursday Provocateur girl and the Irish Pub chick. Tired as balls...there was no will to get them over for a last minute bone not to mention I had to check out and see Ringo from RVF. Well...no last day lay...and I didn't get to see Ringo due to miscommunication & 3G errors delaying our Whatsapp messages. All I could do was spend my final rainy evening consuming a rather enjoyable cafezinho in Jardins before heading out to the airport shuttle bus.
Concluding Thoughts - Sao Paulo kicked my ass physically and mentally as I was just.....not able to overcome a lot of funny bounces & had difficulty finding my niche target until the 4th day. The atmosphere is a quite the grind, but that challenge is something that has me yearning for more though with a more effective gameplan next time around.
The females here lack the homeliness of say..a Mineira or a Gaucha...but the quality in regards to appearances is top notch without many fatties. Sao Paulo is a beast of a city, but one I've grown quite fond of. Everything that Brazilians complain about it is true; it's smelly, ugly, congested, and somewhat dangerous. I chalk that all up to character and appreciate it for what it does have as it's the only true international city in Brazil, with great entrepreneurial, cultural, culinary, and creative scenes. It's not an easy place to live, but if you can scratch out a decent living for yourself it comes with a great sense of accomplishment (like the old saying of NY: "If I can make it here I can make it anywhere").
Sounds like you've made some inroads. I'd give it a second chance when you have at least a week to spend, focus on social circle game, and hang out in places with less pretense and less gringo fatigue (Vila Madelena and Consolação).

Any city as big as Sampa is going to have quite a few ugly/average looking chicks...even if I rode the NYC Subway, there would be days where 1/20 girls might be bangable....but you make a good point.
Walking around the grittier areas of town of Sampa like Centro, etc...I would say that I saw a higher frequency of hotties than in Rio de Janeiro. In Rio, one has to walk to a certain "beach post" in Ipanema to see the hotties...but the typical gal walking around Zona Sul even in Leblon/Ipanema was very average except for the occasional hot chick with a huge ass rock on the 4th finger-left hand...compared to Jardins/Jardim Paulista/Vila Madalena/Itaim/Brooklin/Vila Olimpia/Avenida Paulista...would say I saw a higher frequency of hotties yet again.

Agreed as Sampa has plenty of character. I left Sampa missing the grind, challenge, atmosphere, and unique character despite some frustrating moments.
I've left certain cities saying "oh well..missed out..that's life..it happens" while gaining a good grasp of those environments. I left Sao Paulo however wanting to understand it more not to mention just yearning to linger around aimlessly for another week.

If I focused only on social scene, daygame, and more frequent mall/cafe visits walking around streets without overdoing things at clubs...could've gotten farther with the females & enjoyed the experience more. If you looked at post 3/3 for Sao Paulo, just relaxing in Jardins/Itaim while casually walking around both of those areas possibly daygaming was a privilege I didn't take advantage of; instead I was too focused on a "specific agenda" running around town, which I don't regret (least I got that out of the way).
I will say it's a tough place to make guy friends even if I put more time in that. Whereas investing time & energy in guy friends around Belo Horizonte would be more rewarding (not to mention an easier process too), it's not something I feel would be worth setting aside time to do in Sao Paulo....girls all the way haha.
My ego/emotions tell me to visit Sampa right away for another week stay letting others know I'm there "for work." Realistically...it's going to be some time before I take another crack at it as I have other priorities even when moving to Brazil end of year...but the sooner the better idealistically.

For day game, check out the street parades (blocos). I specially like the ones in Vila Madalena and Pinheiros. Here's a couple of them (Facebook events): Bloco Bicho Maluco Beleza - Alceu Valença, Bloco Gonzagão - Carnaval fora de época and Bloco de Carnaval A PUC QUE TE PARIU 2015!. They usually start during the afternoon and last a few hours. Alcohol is the drug of choice, but marijuana and lança-perfume/loló (chloroethane) are also popular. Towards the end of the night, cocaine use increases.
For night game during Carnaval, go to Praça Benedito Calixto where many of the parades end up and tons of people go to party. I don't recommend staying there until very late though, people get drunk and coked up and it gets sketchy. Find a chick and bounce.
Mercearia São Pedro is also located in Vila Madalena and it's a very good option for days when there's no parades or prepartying - don't sit down inside, buy a beer and stand outside, it's easier to game.

I've been in SP a month and Rio for a month, and I'd like to thank Ringo, Shotgun, and Cartola, and Brosemite for their data, and give my opinion on things. Keep in mind that the way I rate women is probably a bit different because I've spent most of my time gaming girls in Hollywood and Miami, so when I say 9, I mean pretty freaking hot. What I am seeing in Sao Paulo is just tons of 7's everywhere. 9's are hard to find. They are not running around in the street here. Maybe a handful of them in the hottest clubs. I didn't see a lot of hot girls walking on Paulista after 5pm.
Here are some notes I took about the club scene here:
Dedge is great on Saturdays and Mondays. Haven't been on thursday. No idea why Shotgun was having a bad time there lately. Friday is gay night.
Villa Country sucks on thursdays. I went on a Thursday like Shotgun said and waited around from 12-2am and everyone seemed to be leaving cause it sucked so much. Now that I've been to more sertenejo clubs, I think maybe this is because there was no live band playing that night, so make sure there is one playing if you go. I saw a huge crowd outside there on friday, but I didn't go in cause none of the people were very hot.
Fridays:
Kia Ora has great rock cover bands, not as hot girls as the clubs, but way more friendly. Folks a bit older, but met some 20yr olds in here
Vila Mix just before midnight on friday, tons of hot girls in the street and a huge line. Get here even before 12 in order to get in easily. I tried to bribe the bouncer a blue $100 once at 1am, and he wouldn't take it, so I have no idea how Shotgun is getting that done.
Yacht Club at 1am was 80% dudes in line, they were letting everyone in, so I passed.
Royal Club at 2am had zero people outside and they let me right in, I paid 200 and there were tons of hot girls in there, and a roof smoking area where they serve mixed drinks but no beer or food. Great electronic music. Quite a bit smaller than Dedge. Roof like 1/3 as big. A bit larger than She Rocks. I did the most work outside at the hot dog stand when people started leaving about 4am. This might be a good strategy if living near a club, to just not even go to the club and hang out on the street at 4am and try to pull. It works in LA.
Saturday:
Beco 203 - Ok venue, bunch of 7's in there. 40 reais entry. No line at 1am, unlike Lab club next door, which had a huge line.
Love Story - Huge club with lots of hot girls in it when I was there between 3am and 6am. A bunch of them are prostitutes, but some aren't. Brazilians weren't paying any cover and walking right in, but they snagged me and demanded I pay 100 reais to enter. If I wasn't so drunk, I would have told them to fuck off.
She Rocks - Hot girls, but the venue is too small for me. I blow out or get distracted a lot so I need more options.
A glow in the dark party (not the one at Beco) had a huge line around the block, real young friendly girls outside, but I didn't get to go because I didn't have a ticket and somehow could not get anyone to sell me theirs for 5x the price they paid, and also could not bribe any of the doormen, despite having a brazilian wing attempt the bribe for me. I would recommend finding out when that party happens again.
Lions is completely gay now. Guys outnumber girls by about 50:1. I've found if I immediately leave the venue if it sucks, I can often get them to let me out without paying anything.
Neu sucked.
Wednesday: Don't go to woods if you don't want to pay the 200 to get into Camarote. That section has more people than are in the entire rest of the club, and all the hot girls. All the camarote girls will come downstairs at some point, but you'd have to be real aggressive and you'd have a real small window to hit on them, and have way less success. Even when you're in the camarote, most of the girls are associated with a table and guys will come up and block you when you hit on them.
I've been real annoyed with one aspect of the scene in the hottest clubs in both Rio and Sao Paulo. In my opinion, one of Brazilian culture's biggest strengths is the ability to have fun anywhere and always be happy even when bad things happen. I thought the clubs would reflect this. Yet in a bunch of these clubs, it's the same LA/Miami vibe where hot people with money stand around near their table trying to look cool instead of having fun.
So I checked out the university scene. Here's what I found:
Mackenzie (40k students): This campus is closed to the public, but there's an entrance/exit where all the students come in and out. This is one of the best pickup spot I've ever seen, as you can just stand there and watch hundreds of women come out until you find a really hot one, and then walk with her down the street. They have evening classes from 6pm-10:30pm, so everyone is piling out of there between 10 and 11. They are taking evening classes because they have jobs during the day, so it's probably a good idea to find out when the exodus goes on for the daytime classes, because those girls won't be ones that have jobs. There's a bar very close to this entrance. There were just a couple seated groups of girls when I went by there at 4pm, but later there was a huge crowd of people on the street in front of it when I was there from 10-11:30pm. The whiteknighting was a bit out of hand though.
PUC (20k students, pronounced "pook"): I went here at 5pm. There were tons of hot girls inside this university. The ratio is great. There is a street with a bunch of bars on it across the street, and while there were only a few hotties at them at 5pm, people insisted that it gets good later, especially on a friday night. All the classes hadn't started session yet either. There are a bunch of apartments right next to this street to rent in, and a hostel that is about to open in a week or two in between all the bars.
USP (90k students, pronounced "oospee"): I went to the ECA (eh-ka) happy hour party that Ringo mentioned. I arrived at 6pm, and there were just a few groups of girls sitting around there. They are real friendly and mostly speak english. 10x as many people were there at 8pm, and when I left at 10pm it was still growing. However, the ratio continued to get worse, to the point where at 10pm it's usually 3 guys talking to 1 girl. This is a great place to go solo from 6-8, after that better to have a wing. The biggest difference with this party was the the guys at USP are not hot or aggressive at all. Normally in Sao Paulo a girl never gives me much eye contact to indicate that she wants me to talk to her, but at this party I was getting greenlights (even obvious doubletakes) all over the place. I'm 6ft, very white and norwegian-looking by the way. This college is logistically fucked compared to the other ones though, so I won't be going there again. It's way out in the middle of nowhere, the campus is too big and sparse, and each school has nothing to do with the other schools. For example, an engineering student at USP never has to leave the engineering buildings. I asked people where they lived, and I got answers all over the place real far away.
Other notes:
The one big advantage in Brazil vs LA/Miami is cost. With the exchange rate currently at 2.88 reais per 1 dollar, a 200 BRL entrance cost is less than 70 USD, which would be a super cheap night out in LA. Normally you tip the bouncer $100 USD to get in, and then your drinks are $20. Or you split a bottle for about $350 each.
Don't open in english. I used the opener "do you guys speak english" like ten times, and it is always terrible to say that.
I constantly get in trouble with the standard US push/pull game that is standard to use on 9's in the US. It comes off as rude a big % of the time. If a brazilian wing is there, he can always turn it around for me though. Some of the stuff, I just don't understand how Brazilians don't think it's funny or flirty, like if I point at a girl in my set with giant tits and say "ela tem peitos muito pequenos", no one laughs.
Compared with the US, the guys are way harder to deal with in Brazil, but the girls are much easier because they encourage each other to hook up instead of dragging their friends away from hot guys.
The university women in SP are way hotter than central americans and comparable to University of Miami, although a bit shorter.
Rio Vs Sao Paulo
Way more girls with ass in Rio. I'm a fan of girls with tiny waists and big asses, and SP girls are generally missing the ass. It's just a bit better than LA, where there is also no ass (except in the ratchet clubs), but worse than Miami. Most guys would get the impression that SP women are hotter because they are not fat. You get a similar impression in Canada.
Rio has more 9's. If you don't think so, you didn't go to the right places and probably went to Lapa, where there are none. The best place to find them is on the beach in Barra da Tijuca (20min south of Leblon), and the clubs Miroir and Cave in Ipanema. Boate 021 and the street a few blocks from it Av Olegário Maciel in Barra are also good options during the week, as the nightlife in the main part of Rio sucks when it's not Friday or Saturday. Ipanema/Leblon beach is also decent during the day from about noon-3pm, just not as good as Barra.
SP nightlife options crush Rio.
I spent a year living on top of college bars in Costa Rica, and here's an important point lots of guys haven't realized. Game becomes exponentially easier the closer your bedroom is to your approach location. When you are talking to a girl on the street and you can point at a discoball shining on your deck and say "look my friend is having a party up there, let's go", your numbers go stratospheric. Same deal with hosting an afterparty. When you do an approach in your own house, it's real easy. So when I'm evaluating this university bar scene, I'm looking for apartments where I can see the apartment window or balcony from the street where I do the approach. I've seen a couple options in SP, but if anyone knows of spots to do this in other cities, let's hear it. In particular, if Rio has a spot for this, I'll be excited.
Another option I'd consider is getting a house that is actually on the beach where girls walk by in bikinis. I'm not talking about an apartment in Ipanema or Barra where there is a huge street separating an apartment on the 10th floor from the place where the majority of people are. I'm talking about something like you can find in San Diego or LA, where a ground level house is next to the path where people walk by.
Here's where I'm at in figuring out where to live in Brazil: I won't spend hours in the club trying to bang a 7 anymore, so my options are to either go for only 9's in the hot clubs or beaches and get one every week or two to build a good rotation, or set up next to university bars and pull a lot of 7's where it only takes a half hour to get them into my house and I don't have to bother with going on dates. The clubs in SP are good, but not better than LA or Miami, and my game is worse in SP so I can't justify that. Rio is considerably better for 9's, so I might go up there for them, or I might just rent an AirBnB next to PUC or Mackenzie for a while and see how that goes. Other Unis, and beach house option are also on the table.
I'll be here for at least the weekend, and I'd love to meet you guys. I have no freaking idea why I didn't hit you up before now.
Here are some notes I took about the club scene here:
Dedge is great on Saturdays and Mondays. Haven't been on thursday. No idea why Shotgun was having a bad time there lately. Friday is gay night.
Villa Country sucks on thursdays. I went on a Thursday like Shotgun said and waited around from 12-2am and everyone seemed to be leaving cause it sucked so much. Now that I've been to more sertenejo clubs, I think maybe this is because there was no live band playing that night, so make sure there is one playing if you go. I saw a huge crowd outside there on friday, but I didn't go in cause none of the people were very hot.
Fridays:
Kia Ora has great rock cover bands, not as hot girls as the clubs, but way more friendly. Folks a bit older, but met some 20yr olds in here
Vila Mix just before midnight on friday, tons of hot girls in the street and a huge line. Get here even before 12 in order to get in easily. I tried to bribe the bouncer a blue $100 once at 1am, and he wouldn't take it, so I have no idea how Shotgun is getting that done.
Yacht Club at 1am was 80% dudes in line, they were letting everyone in, so I passed.
Royal Club at 2am had zero people outside and they let me right in, I paid 200 and there were tons of hot girls in there, and a roof smoking area where they serve mixed drinks but no beer or food. Great electronic music. Quite a bit smaller than Dedge. Roof like 1/3 as big. A bit larger than She Rocks. I did the most work outside at the hot dog stand when people started leaving about 4am. This might be a good strategy if living near a club, to just not even go to the club and hang out on the street at 4am and try to pull. It works in LA.
Saturday:
Beco 203 - Ok venue, bunch of 7's in there. 40 reais entry. No line at 1am, unlike Lab club next door, which had a huge line.
Love Story - Huge club with lots of hot girls in it when I was there between 3am and 6am. A bunch of them are prostitutes, but some aren't. Brazilians weren't paying any cover and walking right in, but they snagged me and demanded I pay 100 reais to enter. If I wasn't so drunk, I would have told them to fuck off.
She Rocks - Hot girls, but the venue is too small for me. I blow out or get distracted a lot so I need more options.
A glow in the dark party (not the one at Beco) had a huge line around the block, real young friendly girls outside, but I didn't get to go because I didn't have a ticket and somehow could not get anyone to sell me theirs for 5x the price they paid, and also could not bribe any of the doormen, despite having a brazilian wing attempt the bribe for me. I would recommend finding out when that party happens again.
Lions is completely gay now. Guys outnumber girls by about 50:1. I've found if I immediately leave the venue if it sucks, I can often get them to let me out without paying anything.
Neu sucked.
Wednesday: Don't go to woods if you don't want to pay the 200 to get into Camarote. That section has more people than are in the entire rest of the club, and all the hot girls. All the camarote girls will come downstairs at some point, but you'd have to be real aggressive and you'd have a real small window to hit on them, and have way less success. Even when you're in the camarote, most of the girls are associated with a table and guys will come up and block you when you hit on them.
I've been real annoyed with one aspect of the scene in the hottest clubs in both Rio and Sao Paulo. In my opinion, one of Brazilian culture's biggest strengths is the ability to have fun anywhere and always be happy even when bad things happen. I thought the clubs would reflect this. Yet in a bunch of these clubs, it's the same LA/Miami vibe where hot people with money stand around near their table trying to look cool instead of having fun.
So I checked out the university scene. Here's what I found:
Mackenzie (40k students): This campus is closed to the public, but there's an entrance/exit where all the students come in and out. This is one of the best pickup spot I've ever seen, as you can just stand there and watch hundreds of women come out until you find a really hot one, and then walk with her down the street. They have evening classes from 6pm-10:30pm, so everyone is piling out of there between 10 and 11. They are taking evening classes because they have jobs during the day, so it's probably a good idea to find out when the exodus goes on for the daytime classes, because those girls won't be ones that have jobs.
