Bali, Indonesia - Trip report/Mini-data sheet

If Bali had decent roads you could drive around the entire island in half a day. This is a telling sign, a place this small can’t remain genuine for decades on end when assaulted by tourists with fat wallets. This is one of those places in the world where anyone that doesn’t look like a local will be considered to be a walking ATM. Restaurants will have different menus for foreigners and locals (the only difference being the 4x price hike on the tourist menu), industries will develop around popular sights even if they are meant as holy places and the tourists themselves here on their 3rd or 4th visit will act as complete fuckwads.

Bali can roughly be divided in 2 areas, the beach destinations around Denpasar and the more “scenic” areas inland, mostly concentrated around Ubud. If you’re going to the Ubud area you should have sightseeing mainly on your mind. The few opportunities for game are restricted to a handful of restaurants which are filled with all kinds of tourists. There are no beaches or night life. While there will be the occasional hot tourist out here to expand her cultural awareness while willingly expanding her labia for you they are as rare in this place as responsible driving. The nature surrounding the town is beautiful though and once you’re off the beaten path it feels like you’re in the middle of a David Attenborough documentary. I spent my days in Ubud messing with monkeys, getting massages (Balienese massages are my favourite kind) and just letting work pour off my back.

The beach destinations Jimbaran, Seminyak, Nusa Dua and most of all Kuta are places filled with restaurants, massage parlours and hotels catering to tourists. While opportunities are far more plenty in this area only Kuta is concentrated enough to serve you with the number of opportunities you need. Thing is though, just about all the locals out on the town are pros and the tourists consist of a vast majority of Australians in various states of drunkenness. The Bali women have some serious stunners among them but the average is quiet low for Asia. You won’t see as many hotties as in Thailand or even Malaysia. The tourists come in all versions with the female aussie talent presenting the best opportunities. I don’t know if I’m picky but while I meet many fuckable Oz girls I felt like many didn’t know the first thing about presenting themselves in a sexy way. Flip flops and tnak tops was the order of the day. The male aussies will cockblock you madly if you talk to “their” women and they are not afraid to get rowdy. It was years ago I had to hold my own in a bar and I never do it unless I have the bouncers locked down if things goes sour. Especially not when the nationality of the aggressor outnumber me 100-1. Had to bail at this instance.

From what I understand your best bet on Bali is to day game locals unfortunately I didn’t have much opportunity for this as the days were marred by torrential downpours that could keep going for hours. I was caught on the beach by one just 5 min from my resort and was soaked to the bone by the time I got to my bungalow. Some research I did prior to going mentioned how the usually predictable weather cycles has been going haywire for the last few years on Bali. The dry season can be occasionally very rainy and vice versa. When these monsoon rains roll in you better have an escape plan. Traffic will shut down to a crawl and anything less than an ocean pack will be drenched in minutes.

So my Bali experience was a disappointment. Granted I only stayed 5 nights (out of which 3 were in Ubud) which is not enough for a really definite assessment but talking to other westerners (US/German) I got the word that Bali has gone downhill the last 5 years. Apparently it was some of the best party places on the earth in the nineties but these days little but the Cancun of Oz.

I will not return to Bali.

For me Bali was only good for Surfing, beginner breaks.

Had the worse food poisoning of my life there when eating a burger; stick to the local cuisine. Also watch out for bedbugs in budget accommodation.

Some of the Aussies are really annoying there

I plan to got back to Indonesia, but would only use Bali as a transit point for a day or two. I love the Indonesian nature, volcanoes, Komodo Dragons, Jungle, Diving.

I stayed 3 nights in Ubud about a month ago. I had been there a few years back, and it's gone downhill.

That town is too far from the water for me really. I stayed at Viceroy, which was nice and mountain view-ish. But it had some bad bugs up there. Mosquitos, big ass tropical roaches, beetle looking things, and weird spiders were all over. If your paying five star prices you don't want that.

I went with a girl, so no gaming for me, but it looks like a whore only type spot. I did bump into OZ guys and some Russians, but mostly they were the backpacker type. I got smiles and made jokes with a lot of local girls when I was by myself, but I just didn't see any attractive local girls that weren't whores. It didn't used to be that way 10 years ago.

Ubud Hanging Gardens is a good place to eat, same with Four Seasons. Both places had pretty good quality fish, but again the bugs were on you. There were a few good restaurants and bars along the main road. I got shit canned at one called the Jazz club which wasn't very authentic but oh well. Went to a Cuban bar that had decent food, but no girls. A few lounge type places that only had tourists. And two local bars, one of which had kava, and not the healthy people kava the shit crackheads drink thats cut with bad shit.

Weed is hard to come by but I hit from a white guy at some holistic vegan type restaurant, which there were a lot of. It was ok, I don't know how much it weighed but it last the 3 days for a US 100 dollar bill. He didn't want rupiahs.

The money exchange places are all really shady. Go to the bank. I got HSBC since I'm going to Indo a lot, but they didn't have anything on Bali I could find.

I think I'll stay out of Ubud.

Aloha!

Bali is the most overrated place I've ever been. I actually got laid quite a bit there (particularly with a hot Norwegian girl), but actually being there day-in and day-out fucking sucked. Constantly hassled and scammed by locals, loud drunk Aussie kids walking around everywhere, same shitty nightlife every night, and yes, the food was fucking terrible. Also, the boat trip to Gili is possibly the biggest waste of money I've ever spent on a tourist trip.

Yes, the scenic parts of the island are nice, but you can cover them in a day or two. Yes, the surfing is great if you're experienced. Otherwise you're stuck on Kuta, which is overcrowded and the swells are pretty lame.

I did bang a local my first week there, and was convinced she was a pro for the first hour I hung out with her. Turned out she was just some girl visiting from Jakarta and really wanted to meet a white dude. Done and done. She was literally the only hot non-pro local I met the whole time I was there. No idea where one would look otherwise.

went to bali last weekend. hanging out at sky garden saturday night i am gaming this japanese girl. while waiting for her to return from the bathroom i take my phone out to send some texts. these two fat aussie bitches come over and ask for a picture with me. i am hammered drunk and dont really give a shit about what these whales are saying to me. i barely look up while one puts her arm around me and the other takes a picture. i dont say a word and they walk away.

japanese girl comes back and things are proceeding nicely. but about 10 minutes later she tells me there is something on my back. she takes a napkin and wipes off a bunch of sambal (indonesian chili sauce). it takes a little bit in my drunken haze to remember the aussie whales who asked for a pic with me. of course the one who put her arm around me for some reason decided to ruin my shirt with a mess of chili sauce. i am enraged but have no idea what to do. i had no memory of what these girls looked like. it was a massive club with a hundred fat aussie whales who look just like the ones who pulled this prank on me. it took a minute but i kept my cool. the japanese girl didnt think anything of it and wiped the rest of the shit off my shirt. in the end it didnt get in the way of the bang. i dont even know what i would have done if i had caught these girls. maybe dump a bottle of chili sauce over their faces. but its probably better that i forgot about it.

i think this episode is another demonstration of why the anglosphere is fucked. fat aussie girls are running around pulling childish pranks while thin feminine asian girls are considerate and act like adults. just another instance that made me happy to have escaped the west.

Skygarden, that place is full of violence. I also got in some bad situations there.

Bali, may be overrated, but how could it not be? It's got a crazy hype.

Eat in local Bali warungs where the local people eat. It's not only a lot cheaper, but also a lot more tasteful.

Kuta beach got some nice swells in the right season, for a beginner dreamlands is also surfable. if you wanna surf indonesia and are not experienced, bali is your best bet. Maybe one place a few hours from jakarta is doable also. Padang Padang, is surfable if you don't go for the reefbreak as a beginner. Also Changu, much more quiet environment. Got some very easy waves to surf for a beginner. Beaches are black so not to pretty.

the local people are also really sweet, its inspiering how they manage to stay positive with all those drunken aussies for years.

Worst place on bali is the Vulcano Kirkimini, not to far away from Ubud. There is a local mafia running he entire mountain. You are not allowed to go on the mountain without a guide, if you try they will throw rocks at you.

Bali is incredible, but only after you've been there long enough to acclimate to it. Also, the longer you're there the more the touts and hustlers will recognize you and stop trying to constantly sell you shit.

The food is great and cheap if you eat in the right places.

Padang Padang is not surfable for beginners. It's not surfable for intermediates. It's an advanced-expert break over shallow, razor-sharp coral that only breaks in large swells.

Ubud is an hour from Kuta. That leaves the other 95% of the island.

I looked at pictures of the chix from here and I must say, why all the hype on the Philippines? The girls are crazy hot in Indonesia. There is no mention on this country as of late, but I think maybe it should be given a chance. I am still trying to find out how easy it is to actually get laid in Indonesia. I have heard mixed stories. Some said it was easy as long aas you were not looking for a wife due to religious issues for many of them. But I have not heard any real comparison with the Phils in terms of easiness.

Easy to get laid. Also must be easy to find a wife (though I wasn't looking). Not easy to get laid with a hot girl, but then, where is it easy?

The best girls to go for in Bali are the Muslim immigrants from Java, not the locals. They are are more DTF and better looking. The true Balinese are not particularly attractive and live in close-knit communities making them harder to close.

Keep in mind that under the surface, we are guests here and the Balinese still rule their own island. They allocate the hordes of tourists a certain toleration for their money, and no more.

Bali is to Australia sort of like what Cancun is to Americans.

I haven't actually there before but I have a feeling that it's waste of time if you're trying to game quality chicks. The main options you have in Bali are fat/ugly Australians or local chicks who seem to be generally quite unattractive.

Bali, Indonesia - Trip report/Mini-data sheet

Bali was one of the worst places I've ever been. I spent 1 week there and ended up cutting my trip short because I couldn't deal with that shit hole. I was constantly hassled by locals. This guy tried to get me to look at his shop. I ignored him, then he started talking shit at me as I was walking away. Kuta is pretty unsafe at night, especially around sky garden. The motorbike taxi drivers kept grabbing me and offering me either "transport, women, drugs, viagra" and anything else they could think of. I'd tell them "no" and next I knew I was being followed down the road by a group of locals on motorbikes. I really thought I was going to get mugged.

Taxis will overcharge you. Even my hotel, which was a nice mid range hotel ($60 USD/night) tried to rip me off with their personal driver. Fuck Bali. Worse place I've ever been.

I did manage to pull a light skinned non-pro Indonesian girl from Sky Garden. She was visiting from Jakarta. One of the hottest girls I've ever been with. Also, I did meet a few cute Indonesian girls at some of the bars in Seminyak. They were all non-pros, and all of them were either on vacation or business from Jakarta. I didn't meet any cute local Balinese girls except for pros.

The only other good thing about Bali was surfing. It was my first time ever surfing. I went twice, once in Kuta and once in Seminyak. The swells were perfect for a first timer like me. I paid $35 for an hour lesson/full day surf rental (the next time I paid $5 to rent a board for several hours and no lesson).

In conclusion, I thought Bali was awful. Highlights included raw sex and cunnilingus with a light skinned Indonesian girl who was on her period (who turned out to be a complete bitch the next time I saw her after I banged her), and surfing. I also saw a great sunset on Seminyak Beach. Otherwise it was just frustrating.. constantly being hassled by locals, the HEAT (Bali is easily the hottest, most humid, uncomfortable place I've ever been to- I was there in early March), mediocre food. You'd be better off going to the south of Thailand instead of Bali. Nicer beaches, hotter girls (though now were talking about tourists), cheaper, but no surfing.

@travolta lol? the surf in kuta is craps for beginners... kuta in general is just shit. but i mean party wise it can be pretty legit but basically ANy indo girl u meet at sky garden is a ho in some way or another, esp one on her period... so i mean whatever... bali is insane... its sorta like vegas to me.. just an insane place.. take it with a grain of salt

Maybe the surf is crap. I honestly don't know, as it was my first time ever doing it. Either way, surfing in Kuta was extremely fun for me and made me want to do more of it. Where is a good place for beginner to learn how to surf?

Also, I don't get your logic in how a girl being on her period makes her a ho. Every girl I've ever met has periods... Your mother and sister both have them too. The girl I pulled for Sky Garden was on a business trip from Jakarta, 22 years old. Definitely not a prostitute. That night she lost her wallet, so I offered her $15 to catch a taxi home. She refused to take my money, said she'd feel like a prostitute if she did. I bought her 1 beer that night, so it cost me a total of $3 (plus $5 cover charge I paid to enter the club) to get her into bed.
She did seem like the exception to the rule though. Most Indo girls in Kuta are prostitutes.

Personally I have been over to Bali 4 times now and I think it is awesome. But mainly cos I avoid Kuta, I always go to Seminyak which is the higher end party place. Despite being warned off it I did venture into Kuta once on my various trips over and can see why there is so much negativity about Bali here. Absolute shit hole.

Seminyak however is a different kettle of fish. Fair enough it's pretty expensive in comparison, but im happy to pay the inflated prices insofar as it serves to keep the scummy aussie bogans out (and trust me from my many years gaming nothing kills the market stone dead more than a bunch of aussie bogans aggressively hitting on everything that moves and is willing to cockblock/cut in/fight you to the death for a 6). There's the odd arsehole but most ppl I meet out and about the bars/clubs there are genuinely a pretty cool mix of expats and locals.

I met one of the best girls I have ever hooked up with on a solo trip the first time I went over and was railing her every time I went back (even though she since has LT boyfriend). Absolutely banging body and one of the most fun chicks I have ever been with. She also is well known round the party scene in Bali and knows how to play the game. Subtly cockteases the right bar owners and DJs thus securing free entry/que skip/VIP to most places and definitely had her finger on the pulse of where the good dayspots & nightspots are.

Not to rehash what has been written on Bali here before but I dont see any extensive datasheets on Seminyak specifically (seems the majority of dudes here who went to Bali partied mainly/solely in Kuta). So very quickly:

daygame(ish):

potato head: Very chilled very fancy venue, dont let the rather odd name fool you. But excellent to come down and chill while watching the sunsets before going out and hitting the town. Your alternatives here are Ku De Ta and W but Potato Head trumphs Ku De Ta cos it has the pool (and pool bar) and W is more of a hotel/couples/tourist vibe.

It's pretty chillaxed and folk tend to not get too hammered. Plus can be the occasional family there, (so needless to say dont go charging around 'beast mode') but can some some cracking girls kicking about in bikinis, normally tourists. Fairly easy to get some casual chit-chat going with chicks to see where they are headed out that night and tee something up for later on. Best way to do this for me was to get into the pool and get some chat going in and around the pool bar. Everyone is having a good time, no aussie bogans stinking up the joint, thus practically every set should open if you are just friendly & chilled

There is also another venue Cocoon which has a similar set up albeit smaller scale but I have not been so cant comment. However they have the occasional Splash bikini party there which is apparently well worth checking out

sidenote: awesome little beach bar to bring a date to day or night - La Plancha.

[Image: 5--La-Plancha--c--John-Garay-jpg_190559.jpg]

nightgame:

Hu'u Bar: Gone downhill when I had my last visit a couple weeks back but still worth sticking your head into I reckon. Music was pretty good from what I remember and comes from an RnB angle but tends to be a mash up of all sorts. The place is relatively civil early on and gets more and more intense as the night comes on. large dancefloor and friendly chicks open to chat and some close quarter dancing. Was plenty of options the first couple times i went but last time seemed a little cock heavy. Either way, it's free in so if it blows easy enough to bounce onto other venues

Favela: First time I went to this venue was few weeks back, think it's a relatively new venue. Really cool bar in the front and lots of tables out the back for isolating chicks. I was with my girl at the time but noted numerous viable options on the dancefloor when things livened up later on. Met some pretty sound people casually chatting to at the bar also. Definitely going back here

Townhouse : Seeming the new 'in' place to be, again a relatively new place that opened. I wasnt a massive fan as were a few older tourist folk who looked out of place and the layout is quite a 'vertical' venue where there are numerous floors & rooms but it all seems a little claustrophobic. There is a nice rooftop bar but unfortunately views aint great and its roasting hot, you'll be sweating through the front of your shirt in no time. Again was with my chick who was hooking up my crew for the night and spent most the evening on the couch with her and her buddy trying to tee up the 3way so didnt really get around the venue to give a solid opinion on it. But am assured it is currently the 'place to go' in Seminyak at the moment. The jury is still out for me

Motel Mexicola: Really cool qwirky bar which is a bit new on the scene also (things move quickly in Seminyak). Seems more popular amongst the locals so as a white guy you do stand out a bit more. layout quite open making it good to get chat with folk but noticed was quite cliquey at the same time. Still the locals are friendly enough (guys & girls) so good place to go early in the night

Mint: Been a few times here, been a mixed bag but when it's been good its been very good. A lot more loud and 'clubby' as compared to the previous venues mentioned above. Some cracking girls come here but there's a high infiltration of pros. The venue and music not to everyone's taste but again free in so easy enough to bounce. Tends to get more local girls out looking for white dudes, also when I was there I noticed some older white dudes with some very good game kicking about. Very friendly to chat to tho, most tend to be successful expats who have moved and opened up businesses in the local area and are doing very well (both with business and girls). Sounds like the best retirement plan ever.

Also, I cant remember the name of it but a pretty cool bar directly across the road from Mint is worth checking out also

late venue/post club after party: Maria Magdelena
If you are still going after the above bars/clubs are dying off check this place out. Not quite last chance saloon but there is some bogan infiltration from Kuta so your competition stiffens up. Should still be enough options here tho to make it worth your while. quite cool bar actually and plenty areas for isolating chicks up the stairs on the balcony

late late venue/after party when everyone is completely fucked up:
Pyramid: Drug central and hardcore dance venue. Most folk likely to be on pills but still some decent talent kicking about who will be up for some action. Got a double makeout last time I was there tho was a bit off my face myself. the type of place which you go to super late and when you leave it will be daylight outside. Plenty of pro's kicking about as you would expect but plenty of regular girls also. Not too bad for a proper last chance saloon venue

Also on a side note if you like local indo women (i love them) there are plenty of chicks who come over for a weekend holiday from Jakarta as well as the local balinese chicks. If you get chatting to a indo chick and she tells you she is over on hols from Jaks you have struck gold my friend. Bali is 'girls on tour' for Jakarta chicks and trust me, from personal experience, they are up for ANYTHING.

That ended up being a bit of a brain dump and left a lot of stuff out but hopefully some useful info for anyone heading to Bali anytime soon. If you are feel free to drop me a PM, I can get in touch with my Bali girls and get the lowdown on where the best party's are at and hook you guys up

Bottom line, if you want to party (and have a bit of cash to spend), Seminyak is your place. Avoid Kuta like the plague

Bali, Indonesia - Trip report/Mini-data sheet

I just spent a few weeks in Bali as part of my winter trip throughout Asia. I was originally planning to spend maybe a week or two max here, but decided to stay here longer when a friend I knew arrived.

My main goal was to focus on my business, while having some fun on the side and getting a bit of sightseeing and relaxing on the beach done.

I stayed in Kuta mainly because of the fact that it was pretty cheap and I"m currently on a lower budget. I spent a couple of nights in Seminyak, where I basically was just chilling on the beach. However Seminyak was more expensive for sure. But it's a lot nicer. If I'd return I'd stay in Seminyak for sure.

As others have said, Kuta is pretty much a shithole. However, since I was mainly focused on work, I'd spend most of the day doing work in a coffee shop and then maybe go out at night some nights. On another note, internet in Bali overall sucks, although I did find a Kuta hotel with reasonably fast internet. Coffee shops are decent though if you find a good spot to sit at.

I did go out a fair amount in spurts. The first week, I didn't go out much at all other than 1 night at Mint. I'd say Mint is pretty overrated, it's small, and it was fairly empty both nights I was there. Not to mention the cover.

The next week, when my friend arrived we went out for a few nights. We hit up Mint again which was disappointing, so we went back to Kuta.

Another night, I met up with a RSD forum member who prefers Indo girls and he took me to Favela. Favela is pretty solid for Indo girls, and I found them reasonably friendly. Less pros there as well. However, the white girls were unfriendly as fuck and pretentious there.

Sky Garden

Since we were in Kuta, it didn't make too much sense to go Seminyak each night, especially considering that Seminyak was far less popping than Sky Garden and Legian street on most nights.

Now here's the thing. There's a ton of aussie bogans there. And aussie girls. Especially on weekdays, it can be a cockfest. However, on weekends Sky Garden and Legian street are solid.

However, my friend loved Sky Garden. He's fucked from there twice, one a pretty decent tall German chick, and a chubby Indo chick. He's also pulled multiple cute to hot girls from Sky Garden and the surrounding bars who he didn't end up fucking.

I thought that whole area sucked the first few nights I went out there. Then I spent a week just hustling on work and maybe coming out for a quick hour to talk to a couple girls to just get out of my head. There are tons of jacked and tall Aussie guys who are aggressive as fuck and the ratios aren't the best.

However, after the last 4-5 days I think Sky Garden's pretty solid for pulling. The thing is you need to know how it works-

1. A lot of girls get pulled earlier in the night, around 12-12:30. So you need to be putting in approaches earlier in the night around 11 before the Aussie bogans get drunk enough to do their own approaches.

2. Do not be intimidated by all the 6"2 jacked Aussie dudes. Most of them just stick to the dancefloor, and are very one-dimensional in their game. I got into the trap of thinking that I couldn't compete with these dudes when I first got here. That obviously killed my swag. That's bullshit.

3. Hit up the surrounding bars later on the night, as well as the street. I pulled and fucked a hot Finnish girl who approached me. It was luck, but the reason it happened is because I decided to stick around and check out all the different bars instead of just going home early.

4. Focus on the European girls, and the occasional non-pro Indo girls. Approach aussie girls to warm up, but chances are you're probably going to pull a European or Indonesian girl. There are tons of Swedish, Finnish, German, and Dutch girls here.

5. R selection is key. I started wearing my contacts the last few nights out which helped. Wear t-shirts, shirts that fit you well and show off your body. If you're really ripped and big, then wear a tank top.

In terms of my results, after realizing how Sky Garden worked, I started doing much better. For one, I started approaching a fuckton more earlier in the night.

So for New Year's Eve, I made out with a hot Swedish girl(who I approached around 11), but I wasn't to pull her because of her cockblocking friends. I extracted another Swedish chick outside of another bar, but couldnt' get her to come to the hotel.

Then 2 nights later, I got two girls back to my hotel, one friendzoned me. Then I went out and pulled the finnish girl which resulted in a lay(it was a shitty lay though, despite her hotness).

So my final verdict?

If you're a young guy, Kuta might be a decent place to capture a few flags and work on your game on the cheap. But goddammit it gets on your nerves, and it's a tourist trap. As I said my friend is staying here for even longer, because it fits his needs(he just wants to bang tourist chicks). I personally am tired of Kuta.

I don't think I want to return to Kuta for more than a few nights. I would just go to Seminyak instead and use that as my base of operations to visit the rest of Bali and take in the natural sights(which are stunning).

Bali, Indonesia - Trip report/Mini-data sheet

It's weird that Indonesia is brought to the forum, aren't Indonesian girls quite conservative compared to for instance Philippine or Chinese girls?

The average girl may be conservative in Indonesia as well as the other two countries, but make no mistake, there are more sluts in Indo than you, I and all RVFers can ever bang.

Having lived there for 2.5 years all over the country, I would say there are a lot of similarities to the US. It's a huge country, but poor, so you get many backwater places where people aren't educated, superstitious, highly religious, and very closed communities. These places generally wont have bars or even alcohol available, and even if a woman is attracted to you, she wont let things progress because of what she thinks others will think. Think small towns/cities in the southern US if a Muslim came there for work.

In bigger centres with better educated people and a higher standard of living (Jakarta, Bali) religion plays a much smaller role. You still have your religious folks who go to prayer 5 x a day, but it's overshadowed by a huge expat community, and locals who have penetrated in for a mutual win-win. You have the money, they know the lay of the land. Many people in these places, while Muslim, are more like how the average maybe not American, but Canadian/Brit is Christian. Doesn't go to the mosque, drinks on occasion, is a Muslim in title, but doesn't necessarily buy into it fully. I brought home one girl in Surabaya once who had a foreign bf, we went to the bar, brought her back, slept with her, and we're still decent friends talking occasionally. She explained to me months later that she wouldn't get married to a foreigner unless they converted to Islam, because it's very important to her and her family. (while booze, smoking, cheating, and premarital sex were fine). Muslim Hamster.
