Yeah, I couldn't put the link in because I don't have 10 posts yet. ha. I didn't realize i double posted either.

I'll let you know how thaifriendly goes. How many girls have you banged from doing day game in places like mbk?

How much thai do you need to know to talk to girls working at mbk?

I wasn't trying to pick up thai girls on khao san, I was hitting on white girls. I got a lot of girls giving me negative looks. At times it was worse than america. some girls were nicer.

I took a note of loads of numbers from girls working in shopping centres etc last time but barely had time to contact any of them as I had landed on my feet early on in a good social group and a memeber of the group always had something planned for me, wanted to show me something, take me somewhere or to meet someone. I was out every night being whisked around and shown cool things or introduced to people. I think if I followed through on the numbers it could have racked up a nice amount of bangs but I was getting laid anyway so didn't care so much. Try it and let us know. I'll be there in a couple weeks and I will try it too.

A lot of the girls talk English at the malls etc so knowing Thai not an issue. Might be an idea to open it it with a simple "Sawat dee, sabai dee mai?" then switch to English after that just to show you know something.

Surprised you had such negative reactions on KSR, my experiences were that everyone was happy to talk to everyone else because we were all travellers and doing the same shit. Never had any issues with women being bitchy.

I would always put something funny in the subject line, but in caveman English. Generally I would say "Your hair so suay, like mine. [Image: tongue.gif]" I shave my head so it was playful, and partly a neg. Suay means beautiful in Thai. And like I said, Thai bitches love emoticons lol.

Then in my subject I would just have a basic template about me being from California (DHV) and going on a 4 month Holiday to Thailand. Some girls I would tell I was there to wrestle, because I do Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. However, one Thai girl told me she thought I did WWF type of wrestling lol, so I stopped using that.

I would usually also make a joke about needing a tour guide so I didn't get ran over by Tuk Tuk drivers in Bangkok.

Then if they respond give them your MSN, and also ask for theirs. Try to get them over to MSN to chat asap because Thai girls will spend HOURS on MSN, and not as much time on a dating site.

I would always be very heavy on the flirting. Most Thai girls liked this, a few didn't. You want that though so you can weed out the traditional girls.

I like your approach. I've been copying and pasting a simple message to as many girls as possible. My subject is usually "Sawat dee, sabai dee mai?" followed up with a message thats along the lines of:

"I'm from Scotland and soon I'll be moving to Bangkok for 6 months. Looking for someone cool to hang out. I want to learn about Thai life, history, culture and language. I like movies, music, food and clubs. If you want to chat then add me to MSN: [email protected]"

It sounds retarded but 80% of them reply and add me to MSN and from nearly all of them I've spoken to on it seem keen to meet. Strangely when I've actually bothered to read a girls profile and send a custom message, usually because I've seen something genuinely cool or noticed we have similar interests, they haven't replied so much despite me beleiving the message to be strong. So seems this generic, copy & paste, bullshit works best. The proof will be in 2 weeks times, I've already taken most of the ones on MSNs phone numbers and will be lining up dates for every day of the week the second I get a SIM. It'll be my first stop after touching down at my accomodation, DTAC SIM and top up from 7/11, mass text sent out.

good suggestions, I'll try them out.

women weren't really bitchy on khao san road. everyone is open to talking, but they weren't necessarily open to flirting, only a small percentage, which is pretty understandable given half the people are jet lagged, and tired.

I've been to almost every club on khao san, and it leaves a lot to be desired.

khao san is cool in it's own right, but I went to soi 11 last night, climax in particular. way way better nightlife scene (granted there's more sleaze, but also really high end clubs right next to the sleaze).

I'm going to relocate to sukhumvit area today. I've seen most of the major sites already, so even though sukhumvit is less culturally appealing, I don't really mind.

I'm going to implement a tri-platter game strategy: online game, day game in places like mbk, and night game all over sukhumvit (shoring, etc.). (as other people have noted, sukhumvit is basically the best place to situate yourself if you're here for the tang as opposed to the culture/sights.)

I'll post results here of course.

Mate, I just relocated to Sukhumvit Soi 11 as of today, at Seasons Boutique Hotel as we speak. PM me details and that if you want to meet up (I have a local mobile.) I'm going with a broad to Q-Bar later tonight but if you want to meet up earlier for drinks or something I'm down.

I can't have sex with your personality, and I can't put my penis in your college degree, and I can't shove my fist in your childhood dreams, so why are you sharing all this information with me?

Yeah the clubs on KSR are terrible mostly. Bad music, drunken rowdy backpackers and a few ladyboys and pro's. Apparently there are a few bars in the KSR area where local Thai students drink though, I don't know any of the names and I never found them. I think it's a good for a few warm up drinks, you can find a bar (I usually hit one of the street bars with the plastic stools) buy a beer and watch the world go by for a bit or walk up and down the street and check out what's going on, maybe stop by one of the live music places. After a few beers head somewhere else / better. Definitely not worth staying to go to the clubs unless already with a girl because their all a total sausage fest. Last time I went to 'The Club' with this American girl I pulled and european GUYS kept hitting on me, she was finding it hilarious but I wasn't amused.

Nightlife wise I'd head to RCA seeing as it is the weekend. That's where all the young Thais go for nights out, it's a street full of clubs and bars and you'll find something to suit your tastes. No pro's or ladyboys in sight here. Just normal girls on a night out but they'll be in big groups, often mixed so you'll have to befriend groups for success.

On any night of the week, if all else fails and it's 2/3am and you've had no luck hop in a taxi and ask the driver to take you to Spicy. Make sure he's going to drive you for free as he gets commission from the club and doesn't have to charge you (they are all happy to do this strangely). This is an after hours club where all the farang hunters, pro's and semi-pros go if they've had no success elsewhere (as well as those who just want to keep partying) so go here and shore. It goes on till 5/6am then eveyones moves to a club across the road located in the back of a restaurant and parties till mid day. You should get lucky by the end of that lot I'm sure. Seasons boutique looks pretty good. I could actually get a good night's sleep there. I haven't even gotten over to sukhumvit yet. I'm still jet lagged and underslept.

I may see what friday on khao san has in store, then again it would be nice to be over in sukhumvit in a hotel right about now.

I stayed at a place down soi damnoen klang nuea.

where khao san road hits it's eastern end, if you go right a few feet you'll see the alley. the place was called c and h guest house, something like that. it was 180 bhat (six american dollars) for a night. It's basically the bare minimum. you share a bathroom. the lobby is pretty small. the next guest house down the alley has a way better lobby, you might want to check that out.

Are you really going to be in Thailand for 6 months? What kind of visa do you have?

I think I would stick to the dating sites, ThaiFriendly, ThaiLoveLinks, POF and OKCupid instead. Might be way more girls on hi5, but I would venture to guess the % looking to hook up are much higher on the actual dating sites. Of course, I have never used Hi5, so this is pure speculation. I'd love to hear how it works for you if you do end up using it.

If you want to take the time your best bet is to create a totally new Facebook profile. Put that you live in Bangkok.

Start adding some popular musician/models/actresses or anyone that has 3,000+ friends in Bankgok. Go to some of the popular clubs profiles/fan pages and add everyone who is a fan of that page or friends with the clubs. Some of the more famous clubs will be Bed supper club, Demo, Insomnia, etc... Build your friends list up to give yourself some credibility.

Dont just add girls, any guy who has a bunch of friends on his list try to add as well. They are going to be much more receptive to your talking to them if you have a common friend on facebook (even if in real life you have no idea who it is). People are generally pretty open to add most people even strangers compared to people in the US who often times only add people they know.

This all takes time but by far the most productive way to build social proof and pick up girls that are a bit more educated and wealthy compared to thailovelinks and shit like that.

From there its just sending them a quick and easy message to get them talking.

1 more thing. I highly recomend not staying in a hotel/hostel/guest house if you can. I use airbnb (google it) to stay in apartments. Girls wont feel like such whores going to some ones apartment compared with a hotel.

Thailand: Best Social Networking Sites for Pipelining?/Meeting Chicks?

I've been to Thailand before and had a taste of the locals being dtf, but wow thaifriendly is just magic.

I'm gearing up for another trip in coming months, so I thought I would just dip a toe in the water.

I put up 3 average pics of myself, set my tagline to "Kind man with good heart" (hat tip to YMG for that, having a good heart is EVERYTHING to Thai's) - I filled in some of the bio listing I was still in Australia and 26. Mentioned nothing about job or income, though one of my pics is of me in a blazer an shirt at a wedding so they may associate some level of success perhaps with dressing a bit, seperate me from khao san losers at least. The only thing I wrote in the main box was "Sawadee krap - hello".

Took me little more than a minute and after wasting a few minutes browsing through the little lovelies the messages have begun pouring in. Wow.

Allready have a cutie in Koh Samui begging me to visit and her English is pretty damn good.

Another thing I would consider putting on my profile is something about 'No lie, no sex tourist'. Seems every second girl has something to this affect on her profile, even some of the girls who are obviouslly pfp. The no lie thing seems huge, I'm sure the girls get sick of guys promising them the world - just paying for dinner and a couple of pumps. Be upfront and I think most girls will respect you.

Another line I've seen on a few girls that cracks me up is "I just girl, nothing special". Now sure perhaps she dosent completley understand it, but can you imagine a cute western girl putting that on a profile.

Amazing that many of the girls just throw out there number like candy, some even have it as their profile name.

One thing that has surprised me, the ladyboys - I only put looking for women on my profile but I have had half a dozen messages from ladyboys, 4 of them are pretty fine. Here is one that just makes the 4 - http://www.thaifriendly.com/Tiana the others are even better looking.

Looking forward to doing some proper pipelining when closer to departure. What other advice do you guys have? Props also to Rio Nomad and King of Scotland for what they have shared, some awesome data.

Man goes to show how a little color is looked down on by the thai chicks... I pipelined before i came here on thaifriendly and I got a few bites but overall nothing much, I didn't put in a lot of work to write a bunch or anything either, didn't really feel many where I was going but they weren't pouring in like they are for Basil either, figured at least the ugly ones would write. I have the same pics up for my okc and pof profiles and lining up dates easily, same approach little effort but they're writing me and the few I write are going well. Going through the Aussie girls and it took 2 months but having fun with Russians but all picked up here if it wasn't for them i'd have hit a 2 month dry spell, thai girls online or off just don't make it easy on a guy who isn't white, and apparently isn't black cause they seem to be doing alright here too, it's the everything in between that's having it rough or they just don't like me, maybe its that, the rest of the world is fine with me the Thai chicks hate me lol

What nationality/race are you mikeymike?

I think Indian and Arab/brown guys would probably do the worst over there. Black guys I guess there is the novelty factor for Thai's, its something unusual, but brown skin they associate with being poor. I remember a Thai waitress being really racist toward Arabs.

Even darker skinned Thai girls are looked down upon by lighter skinned Thai's. It's a class thing basically, darker skin is associated with being poor, whiter is richer. You just have to go to any store and see all the whitening creams or watch TV and see all white stars. Took me forever on my first trip to find a sunscreen without whitening agents in it.

My friend who was pasty white when we first went over (I was somewhat tanned, having a more outdoor lifestyle) would be approached by girls just stroking his skin - freaked him the hell out. After he got burnt a few times and started to get some color the attention lessened.

Maybe rather than bothering with fancy profile just photoshop pics with a nice casper-like white glow.

I've talked to Thai girls about this and many are openly racist about it. They say they would never date an Indian or "Muslim" because they are cheap, smelly and treat women poorly. That's the stereotype, so it would definitely be an uphill battle to prove otherwise. Even the bar girls and freelancers charge them more than a white/black guy or simply won't go with them either. Really sucks for cool, normal guys with some brown in them, but that's the reality.

Yeah Thai people can be really racist, there's signs in some bars and hotels saying "No black men allowed". Some Thai girls I know talk badly about indians, arabs, burmese, cambodians etc. They really see themselves as the superior country in the region. I'm often teasing girls I know about them being / looking Cambodian and they really don't like it. [Image: biggrin.gif]

I don't like this and wouldn't put it on my profile. A lot of the girls English might not be so good and they misunderstand what you are saying, see the word sex tourist then ignore you. Your profile and the message you send to them should convey you're not a sex tourist anyway, you're coming to live / work here, you're coming to study muay thai, to learn thai language / culture or whatever. Not just I'm coming for a holiday (you're a sex tourist in their eyes) and want to meet some girls (you're definitely just after sex). My approach was that I would be living here for several months and wanted to learn to speak thai too (all true) and was interested in people who could help me learn about thai culture, music, movies, food etc. Just wanted cool people to hang out with. It worked well for me. I don't bother with it now I'm in the country but it was a good start.

Yeah ive accepted my fate with thai girls, I'm Indian but I don't look it, 99+% of the time I'm mistaken for Greek, Italian or Spanish so nationalities that tend to be less brown than what Indian is thought of but darker than white white, you can tell I have something going on and I'm not white tho but it usually plays for me just not here. What's funny is the thai girls who are ruling me out for havin some color, I'm lighter than most of the thai girls, and not just the darker one the light ones unless they're chinese/japanese girl white I'm prolly as light as they are. I've talked to a few thai girls while I've been here and they always start off with the what are you, dont care what my name is what are you, when I say Canadian they dont want to hear that, Spanish is the number 1 guess of what they think down here but they don't play well either cause the conversations tend to dry up after hearing that. I've said Greek and Italian as well, theyre infinitely more receptive when they hear either of those but I havent tried that with any I wanted to bang. Between the language barrier, the having to open them when they're lookin down on me to tell them im italian or greek so they open back up seems like a pain in the ass when the non thais don't have a clue what I am either they just dont care and wanna have a good time. I got my thai flag, my works done, but it's not the pussy paradise it is for you white guys for me. I'll be back here all the time tho for the rest and the life, it's hard not to love it over here.

In Thailand, the best ethnicity to do well with the girls is Korean, by far. Korean fashion, soap operas and such are all over T.V. I once heard an ad that claims their product gives you a Korean look/style, another where a guy is distracted when a girl tells him that there's a Korean girl nearby.

The "racism" thing in Thailand isn't the same as how racism played out historically in the west. There's no white supremacy groups, etc just the general attitude of people wanting to have white skin. This link gets sort of close at it: http://matadornetwork.com/bnt/white-skin...you-think/ (though I haven't heard the creation story/joke it mentioned). In fact you can say that this preference transcends race - you can be Japanese, Greek or whatever, as long as your skin is fair many consider it beautiful, so it's not so much about race. Unfortunately the anti-Indian thing is accurate, though usually only when it comes to dating. Many girls here complain they won't date Indians cause they stink. However, one of the richest families here is Thai-Indian, and they own a clothing empire. You'll also findi Thai-Indians in the workplace having powerful executive positions.

Another unfortunate thing is Thais are not so fond of the people in their neighboring countries. This has been indoctrinated in us by the education system since elementary school, so many people view themselves as superior to Laos, Burmese, Cambodian people etc.

I started hittin the sites last week. I messaged a girl on Thaifriendly and she responded with "black man lol!!!!!". That was my first response haha. I have a month till I figure out where I'm going so I'll continue to hit it hard. I've recieve a few responses from both POF and Thaifriendly though. Couch surf is the last resort.

yeah for sure, there's no hostile racism, it'd be like hating themselves they're as dark as most of the minorities they're not interested in, it's merely a status perception upbringing thing, they've grown up thinking light skin is beautiful skin but few have a hate on for others, least if they do they keep it on the downlow. I haven't been treated badly by anybody or even close to badly while here just don't have any women making it easy on me like they do for the white brothas. No worries for me tho, the more you white guys are chasing the thai girls the more the white girls stay open for me lol. Its a workable situation. In actuality it worked out for the best, while I would've preferred an easier time with the thai girls, I find them irritating. I'm generalizing a lot here but I've found them overall to be extremely childish, I see them doing things that girls were doing back home when they were 13-14 years old with their first boyfriends, that and being glued to the cell phone and the constant yapping, teenager shit, the mental maturity is just way off...It's not just them tho, I met a couple Japanese girls, and they were gorgeous but non stop giggle machines, and between that and the stupid peace sign posing and the lil cartoon back pack they carried to the beach, after about 20 minutes I had had enough but I thought 1 was dtf so I toughed it out. I couldn't deal with someone like that for long, these fat old men locking in 19 year old thai girls, I don't know how they dont lose their mind along with their savings.

Some Thai girls are like that but not all, certianly not any of the ones I'm seeing. I couldn't put up with that shit either. If they are acting childish or playing with the cell phone too much (usually they aren't) they get told and it stops.
