Sydney is ranked 14. Average rent in Sydney's central business district for a 1 bedroom apartment is $400 a week. If you're really worried about cost of living, try bayside areas of Melbourne instead. Rent would be around $300 a week.

Beyond Borders,
That's a dilemma that we all LI people get to face at one time or another. I'm also in the same boat, I'm looking for a place to call my base and to me, it's looking like BKK will be it as I want to base myself in Asia. For your criteria, Sydney would be dope but expensive. Have you thought of Bali? It fits everything is relatively cheap.

If you're looking in Europe then indeed your best options are Barcelona, (can confirm it as being the coolest place in the "old continent" and Lisbon. Lisbon is a true gem and I keep hearing only positive reviews about it. Mild weather, awesome food, great wines (I love wines too...[Image: smile.gif] ), spectacular scenery, great variety of people and among the least expensive of the big European cities.

Yes in the smaller Spanish cities, it can be a pleasant and stress free life, not too expensive, but you'd need to have at least 2kEuros/month to have a decent lifestyle. If you're into Easter Europeans, then Bucharest or Kyev can be a good option.

Or if you want to stay in Asia, I hear Taiwan is a great spot too...beaches, surf, hot babes and international hub relatively priced (not as cheap as Chiang Mai but not as expensive as Hong Kong or Singapore).

BB,
As a French guy, I'll tell you this about Marseille: do NOT. It's a huge ghetto. If you want to live on the French Rivieria, Montpellier, Toulon and Aix-en-Provence (specially the first and last are your better bet as they are major university towns) and near the sea. But Marseille? If you like living in the Brox or similar, then give Marseille a try but don't say you were not warned tough...
If surfing is important for you, then in Europe, nothing comes close to Biarritz (awesome weather, spectacular food and the finest wines in the world at your doorsteps, sexy and fun girls, loads and loads of tourists in the summer plus a lot of sexy locals, lots of great festivals in the summer and year long, not as expensive as la Cote d'Azur (French Riviera) and among the best surfing in the northern Hemisphere. Plus, each August, one of the stages of the world surfing tour is in Biarritz. I grew up near Biarritz and I used to spend my summers there as kid and in my early teens. The entire region is awesome there. Plus the quality of life is very relaxed and you''ll feel like in living in a Marcel Pagnol book. [Image: smile.gif]

Yeah, Marseille looks like a nice city.

I can only find like 7 Morgan on city shows.

Sydney seems a bit isolated to me. Is it not?

Yeah, being in Oz, it could probably seem isolated living there. I know it's definitely a world class place to live though....and I think flights to Asia are pretty cheap.

Nice list.

Yeah, not too hung up on prices because I can make more if I have to. I've got the hookup on the room there too, so that's something....

Awesome suggestions, man - thanks! I'll definitely research some of them. Some fantastic scotch coming out of taiwan too, and I see a future in good wines coming out of there. They seem like people who appreciate finer things, and that can be a scarcity in southeast asia. The women look great as well, from what I've seen.

There's usually a way if you do your research - location-specific expat forums are the best place to start. Often that means a temporary solution until you decide for sure to settle in long-term.

Pretty good idea[Image: smile.gif] Go for it man[Image: smile.gif]

Judging from that video, despite the surrounding beauty, Marbella seems awful, one of the last places I'd ever want to visit. The combination of drunken, boorish Brits on vacation and classless, tasteless nouveau-riche posing and flaunting their money is a pretty terrible local culture.

I can't have sex with your personality, and I can't put my penis in your college degree, and I can't shove my fist in your childhood dreams, so why are you sharing all this information with me?

Isn't Portland one of the whitest metro areas in the country? I read an article calling it the biggest white city in America. Seattle is supposed to be more diverse though.

A lot of people like it because it differs from other American cities in how European it feels. Not sure about the diversity there, but it's definitely on eof the most open-minded and progressive countries in the nation. One of the top greenest cities and the quality of life there is awesome - I almost moved there before I decided to get out of the states.

Soma's dead on, Pacific Islander girls can only be matched by some of Latin American countries like Bolivia or Peru in it's lack of quality.

I do know a very very hot half Solomon Islander - half English girl. Almost six foot tall, slim, brown skin and a pretty face. She looks sort of South East Asian in a way, very exotic look.

Good call. I thought Marseille was pretty sketch as well. But I was there for world cup 98 so I just assumed it attracted all the riff raff.

And yes, Biarritz is amazing. Believe.

What about Trieste? On the Aegean, close to Ljubjiana in Slovenia, some awesome summer party towns in Slovenia and Croatia. Not a big jump to Vienna (also a great town). Its not really like Italy as well. A cool mix of Slavic, Austrian and Italian.

So I got to thinking - I never really thought about Oceania as separate from Asia. Started thinking back - guam fiji micro/macronesia polynesia. I've met a lot of girls from these places and I say they CAN be fucking HOT. Dug into facebook and my personal stash so here are some girls I've messed with from places are part of oceania (pacific islands)

Micronesian (met her in Michigan of all places):

Guam mixed with black - that's me gettin all romantic lmao. this was from nyc
[Image: attachment.jpg3855]

Fiji or Samoa mixed with hawaiian and something else - she was a mix of a bunch of pacific shit. met in Vegas but never smashed. she had a kid and logistics were tough.

This chick (on the right) said polynesian I THINK...hooked up in vegas. she looks more filipino to me...

Black and guam also - Cali.

Apparently the Philipines is in Oceania so I don't know if that counts as pacific islander. not trying to offend pacific islanders with my ignorance I never really thought about the difference from asia I guess. So if we are counting Philipines then that's a whole nother story obviously.

as far as my city recommendations, I guess I'm partial to the northwest because of all the different types of asian and pacific girls, plus the chill vibe, mild weather and it's close to the ocean AND there is a lot of green - forests and trees and whatnot (I'm from Michigan so I like that).

I think it would be a really peaceful affordable place to live. If I were looking for a homebase in the US to come back to and chill, that part of the US would be top of my list.

enjoy the pics guys - I think these girls are pretty fucking hot obviously

Thanks for all the replies, guys, and looking forward to see more. Got work to do now but definitely interested in doing some research on some of the places mentioned.

Oh, and just to clarify - I'm definitely not looking to live in the States. Seems I gave the wrong impression to some of you guys. Hope other people have gotten some good ideas out of here though.

Thanks for the pics, Iceinthewater. The one with you cuddling is especially precious.... haha Just givin' you a hard time. I haven't been to the Philippines but the mixed girls there look pretty good to me - tossing Asian, Spanish, and white blood together can never be a bad idea when it comes to creating hot women.

Not sure if I'd want to live there permanently though; reviews seem pretty mixed.

lol I know - only pic I had of her...

I had a client that retired and moved to the philipines. he set everything up so he basically didn't have to pay taxes anymore - or very little. He moved to one of the less populated beach areas and built a house there. his goal was to live out his life with no financial obligations and just fuck little pinay chicks all day.

that's one thing you may want to think about is living somewhere so that you have very little tax obligations to the US or the country you're in. When it comes to affordability, if you can sort that out, it opens up a lot of possibilities. I'm learning about this now personally - had several clients that were working on this and got me interested.

check out sovereignsociety.com for more info. Prolly some good threads on here as well.

Nice pics IceH20...I like your style in women. They are all cute, but the very first pic of the girl with the black top you posted is my style. Usually I prefer blondes, but that would do in a blondes absence.

There were a lot of genuine pacific islanders (as opposed to mixed) living in New Zealand when i was there. They were enormous people, big heads, big bodies, big eyes. Some of the chicks were hot but they all had pretty chunky bodies. No petite little hotties.

(chick in first picture is really fit!)
