It's one of those horrible quandries it takes a Stalin to stop.

Here's the only thing that I think will work without mass murder. It's FAR too late once they are on the shore they are in the wind like fugitives.

1) Form fleets of well-armed EU "Returner Boats"
2) Commandeer every incoming boat with refugees . Warn everyone the boat will be sunk whether they leave or not.
3) Take the refugees on board returner boat.
4) Sink the smuggler's boat.
5) Brink the survivors back to whereever they came from and force them off the boat.

Why will this work? Smugglers lose their boats. Illegals lose the smuggling fees. All parties lose motivation to continue behavior.

PS it took me 7 years ( on and off not full time, mostly waiting) to get my EU passport through family line.

It will quickly stop without mass murder by simply sinking the boats, which I think is unconscionable.

My Brother in Law is a nuclear engineer. Travels around the world doing really important shit and earns a lot of money doing so.

On a posting to India he met and later married the daughter of an Indian general; top tier, Indian elite with lots of (corrupt) businesses making them a fortune.

They've been married for three years.

She's just been sent back to India as her visa has run out. It could take 6 months for it to be processed. She will have to go through this process multiple times over the coming years before she can live here permanently with her husband.
