This will come across cocky but whatever, I have a pof account using my real pics and real info about me, I'm not a lawyer with an ivy league degree but a business owner with multiple degrees and a good looking guy and while my race isn't easy to decipher for most it's obvious I'm not white, I'm good looking and I'm sitting at about 3 pages worth of new messages I haven't gotten to reading yet, I haven't initiated a single girl on pof, or okc for that matter. The quality of girls vary I do get good looking girls about 20% of the messages 8-9's but I get a lot of middle of the pack 40% 6-7s and the other 40% are just bottom feeders 5s and under. So stacking up against a good looking white counterpart we don't get the same number of messages or as much of the higher talent it sounds like, I don't know if it changes if I initiated but dash didn't have to with his profile.

I'd like to see out of curiosity how the results change for dash's guy if he takes away the lawyer/investor thing and just said he was an average working stiff if the numbers drop? is it just the looks, is it the combo looks/money just for the sake of experiment.

+1. I'm fairly good looking, although a little babyfaced, have good credentials and am tall, and had little luck with PoF. It's too trashy, crappy, spammy. I met one girl off it who contacted me, and that was it. Admittedly never put much effort into it, but the whole site is depressing.

If you want, PM me for a free month's access to a dating paysite that's very slick, low time investment, though not too many users yet. My friends in the Northeast have had good luck with it.

That's what I'm saying and don't know what to tell ya, I can't begin to tell you why your fake profile didn't resonate with the chicks on pof or why mine does but it could be that fake profiles are so common on pof that the chicks are used to seeing them and every claim I make in my profile is verified in my pics, from my travels, to my work, to my hobbies, my lifestyle to my income level and the shirtless shots flashing abs where I'm not taking them myself don't hurt either. Also your friends not the only one who has spent time in front of the cam. I also put a little effort into my profile to make it seem like I wanted to find a good girl and maybe that helps. Honestly tho I don't know why they responded those are just guesses, all I know is whatever it is it's working. I think Dashs little experiment goes to show if you got the right look and the right profile the girls will come. Fair enough, I didn't expect many to believe it when I said it, but the question was asked so I responded. I don't bother much with pof cause I've had little real world results with it, the contacts are there but I'm getting about 30% that I think look good enough to write back and of those few have turned into real world results so I only bother once in a while. I focus more on okc where I have had quite a bit more success. I think Gmac is on to something in regards to hitting up girls who are new to the site. Gonna have to agree here. I've banged 5 in the past 2 months from online alone. Just because you haven't figured out the methods of picking up women online doesn't mean they don't exist (I'll be outlining many of these methods in my book).

Alright so here's the run down of my counter experiment.

Just to recap I took my profile, with my pictures, and replaced the 'About Me' section with what Dash wrote, but I tweaked it so it was true for me. My figuring is that maybe its not so much the pictures but what was said and the bluntness.

Now in fairness I'm a tall white guy with blue eyes, but not with quite the same look as the guy in Dash's test profile. Also, all of my pics are of me alone, no group shots with lots of girls.


What I've noticed is I've already gotten more views, had two girls message me first (neither worth pursuing though) 2 girls hit the "I want to meet you" button, and my response rate to opening messages has gone up to about 50%.

Whats worth noting is that this is all in the course of about two days, and that my pictures were the same before I changed my profile. My message quality and type was the same as well. I've changed very little except that now the profile is very innocuous except for that last bit about just wanting a weekend girl or FWB.

Hit the "prt scr" key, should be near the delete key, then open MS paint and hit "paste"

Less is more. You will have more luck if you focus on being more creatively funny (if not borderline crazy) and talk less about what you actually do. I wouldn't even reveal your job at all or give any background information (keep her guessing). Your profile comes off like you're trying to impress someone at an interview. You don't want to give off that vibe to a girl and will get more responses with a different approach.

DO share a few past experiences in a comical way.
DONT simply tell her you love traveling or X activity.

Show her what you enjoy doing with pictures if you can, otherwise use an experience or funny story, i.e:

"I recently went scuba diving in the Caribbean where I met the girl of my dreams. She loved my dance moves and I couldn't stop staring at her... necklace. It was a match made in heaven. Everything was going great until her "husband" showed up.
