Closing Thoughts

I don't want to write Hamburg off for people on the forum, since I can admit that it definitely holds potential as a city for game. And I've read reports and stories from multiple people on the forum who feel that they've had a great time gaming here.

But I can only really write about my experiences. And I didn't have a good time here.

Granted, there were parts that were out of my control (at least somewhat.) I had to deal with the fact that logistics was an absolute killer for me in terms of both my ability to pull and my motivation to put in the effort. It was hard gaming whilst knowing that unless I could convince her to bring her home with me (at which point it would be blatantly obvious what for, even to a German girl) that I would likely walk away with nothing more than a number for any given interaction (with a makeout at best.) And going from where I am in Hamburg to the Reeperbahn or the Sternschanze would take at least an hour each way by transit - and after a good while of doing that, it really starts to wear down on you. Not to mention that the nightlife in this city is pretty expensive for anything approaching a good-class venue - 10 EUR cover is pretty much the standard - but I was always careful to drink only in moderation, and that served me pretty well.

But to be honest, what absolutely ruined the nightlife in this city for me was the fact that I kept getting refused entrance by bouncers if I was solo. It would happen to me at any and all times of the night, regardless of whether I was early or late. It would happen regardless of whether I was casually or well dressed. What really threw me was its swiftness - I would get shut down almost instantly, even before I could pull out my ID to prove that I was a foreigner and not some scummy immigrant or whatever. By my estimation, when I went to the Reeperbahn there was only one venue out of the 12-15 or so I went to where I did not get turned down rolling solo. The kicker was, all of the talent this city would hold for nightgame chicks would be concentrated at the venues I couldn't get in. Which meant that I would have to tag along with another group of people and get in with them, even though this would put me at the mercy of the group if others wanted to go elsewhere than where I wanted. Getting told that I wasn't getting let in because I looked too Slavic for the bouncers has given me sympathy for those who actually have to worry about their race or ethnicity being a real factor in enjoying themselves.

There are plus sides to be had to this city, I'm certainly not denying that. Personally, I think that this city has awesome daygame potential - as I've earlier mentioned, and as it's been mentioned before me, the area around Jungfernstieg train station, the Rathausmarkt, and the Europapassage mall is a daygamer's dream in terms of sheer number of approaches available. And the level and amount of talent available in this city easily holds its own to most other places in Europe. But what I've come to learn (too late for me, hopefully not for you, the reader) is that German girls don't do subtlety well - especially in a social context. As Flint mentioned earlier in one of his posts, the game that those of us in the Anglosphere are used to isn't easily applicable here. My experience has been that indirect game with girls in Hamburg will automatically land you in the friendzone, no matter what you do or say. I've had too many instances where my targets happily gave me their phone numbers and went to meet me on dates or D2s only to reveal that they had boyfriends or didn't think it was a date. You need to very clearly state your intentions here in order to avoid wasting your time as I often did.

Something instructive that I've noticed is the ratio of days spent to numbers between Hamburg and Poznan:

Hamburg: 19 numbers/FB / 78 days in-city = 0.24 leads / day.
Poznan: 8 leads / 10 days = 0.8 leads / day.

In Poznan I was pulling leads at a rate 3.3 times that of Hamburg - in a city where my logistics were infinitely better, the cost of living was way cheaper, and the girls were hugely more fun and receptive to game. Had I spent the time in Poznan that I did in Hamburg, I would have had a total of 70 separate leads over the time I've been here, instead of just 27. In terms of a preference for the two, there's no doubt in my mind. (Berlin I only spent a couple days in, and even then only in one specific club, so I feel less qualified in putting up a final review. I did have a pretty good time there, though.)

As for Poznan, there's not much I really can add that hasn't already been mentioned repeatedly on the forum already. Though I will say that it is a great place for a person unfamiliar to gaming in Central or Eastern Europe to cut their teeth against. The girls are thin, relatively, cute, approachable, and they love foreigners (mostly because they absolutely despise Polish men.)

That I felt that Hamburg might have died off.
When I was there a couple years ago...I didn't have nearly as many problems getting into the higher class bars.
I could only remember 2-3 bars and clubs that ever denied me entry.

That whole time, I was either solo, or I was with 1 male friend.
Other friends had visited me, and I took them out to places also.

When I went back last June, there was a obvious difference.
I was getting turned away at clubs left and right.. Even black bouncers were denying me into clubs I use to go to often.
One time.. A chick I was with, damn near cussed a bouncer out for not letting a couple of my friends in the group in.
A couple friends had joined me for the Hamburg leg of the trip before I went to Hungary.
I felt like shit...because, when I took them out..We got denied to damn near every place worthwhile. Even the little dingy bars.


Ill have to dig up info from some of my german friends that are still in the city (Most of them have moved off around the world)
There clearly has been a shift or crackdown in the reeperbahn nightlife.

I did tell you..to get out of the country more though and take advantage of being over there haha.

^^^ I wonder how much of this is really Hamburg specific versus the general global trend of nightlife getting worse and worse. It just seems that more and more we're seeing cities "die off" in terms of night life so maybe this is yet another case.

Last couple of years I've had mediocre or poor experiences in clubs across EE and even in Russia (!). For example there was zero rope burn in Moscow 4-5 years ago. Now guys (and women) get turned down regularly at some places if you don't show up by 11 or have an "in." It's still great due to all the women don't get me wrong, but everyone I know said it was better and more fun just a few short years ago. Kiev nightlife pretty much sucked much of this year too (ok the war situation hurts) whereas a few years ago it was great.

Even in places like Vegas it's not as good as it used to be (check out the Vegas thread). I was in LV earlier this year and talking to a bartender who basically was lamenting how it was so much better (and cheaper) there 10+ years ago (Rumjungle!). But now the corporations and nightlife marketing groups are taking the fun out of a lot of it, pushing bottle service and nickle and diming you to death. I guess we still have NYC in the US....

Anyway, I'm just saying lot of what's already been said re the negative nightlife trends but it's interesting to see how it's bad in Germany (outside Berlin). Sorry for the thread derail and thanks to the OP for a great read in this thread (and all the work). I think given the circumstances you did ok and can build on this. You probably don't even realize it but all those approaches are making you better and toughening your resolve too.

I am living in hamburg with my wife. I don't game right now. But will game for 6 month from June next year. Will report in this thread and use info from hsld.

Going solo in the past I also been rejected many times in hamburg. Only solution I found is go early and choose 2 or 3 paid clubs and ger stamped. This way layer you can move around based on crowd but it is expensive as you will end up spending 50 euro if you drink less.

Yesterday I went with my beta indian friends to club for a bachelor party. Strip club I made a 9 sit with me for 30 minutes without spending a euro. I wouldn't have been to do this without rooshv game forum. We went to many venue, in one bar I picked a girl with mother and was flirting with both (my friends did not disturb me but wad watching me). This gal was yes gal and showing lot of interest. I told lets go to quite place to know each other and showed my hand direction. Mom understood I am pulling the gal for toilet and they left. I did not try to explain because even if I get digits won't game for 6 month. I had been alone would have played it even better. Anyway was good night.

2015 will get 6 months alone. If I can get 6 lay in this 6 month will be happy. I will travel to Poland alone. As I went in 2013 for 10 day and laid 2. Missed another 2 bcse did not understood the IOI. 1 was milf 10, which I will regret for life time..

I've been swiping on Tinder on and off through my time here in Hamburg.

In almost four full months I've gotten four matches total. One bot, two SIFs, and a rather cute-looking girl. FOUR. I got 18 in less than 10 days in Poznan.

I don't have model good-looks, sure, but JESUS. And the pics I have get a reasonable amount of attractive girls back home in Canada.

Didn't try it. Tinder is really the only online dating tool I have the patience to deal with. Nothing beats the cold approach haha

This seems to be a worldwide phenomenon now or at least anywhere girls are glued to smartphones.

Any members not noticing this change in their own cities/countries?

Lovoo has the worst rep among all dating apps because it's full of horny low class loosers or pimps (80% of the members are male). I put on a fake account of a 7 and almost every guy was a match, within 1 hour I had to delete messages because the mailbox was overloaded. Within 1 day this girl could choose between 160 guys that would wine and dine her. Despite that, even fatties and butterfaces get this attention online...
Due to that amount of requests the girls starts the get hardcore picky. This is about all dating apps and sites here in Germany. A friend of mine who looks like a typical Abercrombie model is active on all Dating Apps + sites since 2 years and still has a very weak conversion rate.

So mission 'Game hamburg' until October starts.

I started a blog on massage and yoga, as a part of game plan. If girls don't respond well.. I will just drop my card and leave it to them if they want to write to me. As the blog will content lots of good stuff at-least will give them good reading and knowledge on healthy life style.

I did go out last 2 satudays.

Hamburger-Berg, thats the street i visited. It as many bars in them. As i was solo. Some doorman said no. In average visited 3 bar in a night. These are small bars. If you approach all the girls and nothing gets going, then you dont have new target. So i had to change venue. I got shut down badly in dance floor. Opening in the bar side, Got 2 or 3 girls talking they were both passive and left as soon as they got the drink

Day game. Only did one saturday. One asian was friendly but was not interested in exchanging number. One french girl in ikea was excited to talk too. But when i should for number she said don't use phone(strange or lie).

This Saturday planning to visit a polish party, I had a good time Poland with polish girls. So hope will find some connection with polish girls here.

Also will do lot of day game at least 3 days a week and total of 30 approaches as target and night game only on saturday.
