I wouldn't say Austin is "full" of blondes with nice asses, but there is a good selection when school is in session.

Are you a native Texan?

Then let me ask you this, what is the difference between Dallas,Austin and Houston girls in general.

First of all what is the hot/ugly girl ratio in these cities?(by american standards)

And also what are the look, style(fashion) and the inner(personality) attributes?

Austin is younger, more progressive and liberal, and a college town. Dallas and Houston you get more of the stereotypical "southern belle" personalities and types of women: slightly more conservative, traditional, high-maintenance, etc.

Girls in Austin are hotter. Houston's got decent nightlife but it's all very spread out. Dallas's nightlife is shitty and very spread out.

I wouldn't say girls anywhere in Texas are particularly fashionable. Also, the "high end" nightlife is kind of a joke. Again, in terms of quality none hold a candle to NYC or Miami. In my opinion, Austin is the only city in Texas worth visiting for nightlife, and that's only because its nightlife scene is very condensed and has a cool, hip vibe to it (lots of live music, eccentric bars, etc.).

Also, being Texas, you're going to get more fat/chubby girls than you would most places on the east coast.

Thanks sir,but i have still some questions.

And what about the so called "Dallitude"?

Is is true that Big-D girls have higher bitch shields or egos than other texan towns?

By the way I just heard that Dallas is a shopping mecca so i thought the girls are just fashionable there.

And what about the "Girls Gone Wild" shit?

They film a lot there in Texas because of the hot(?) girls there (in the club scene) and was told that nobody parties in the states like Dallas?

Dallas?!?!?!

Wait...

Dallas?!? Who the fuck told you that?

First of all, the way "Girls Gone Wild" works is they go hire strippers in each city and then pay them to act like they're a bunch of random drunk party girls in a club. They're not. Trust me, I dated a girl asked to be in one of them (ironically, she was from Dallas).

Second of all, Dallas has some OK clubs, but they are a fucking joke compared to the A-list cities in the US. A joke...

Third of all, I would say girls in Texas in general have higher bitch shields. I personally think it's a southern thing. If you haven't noticed by our nutjob politics, Southern US values still have an iron grip on a lot of the country. So concepts of chivalry, politeness, buying her a bunch of flowers and crap, a lot of girls still expect stuff like that. They kind of expect to be put on a pedestal. I've noticed this in the south far more than other parts of the US. So yeah, you run into girls with large senses of entitlement. Moreso than other places.

Dallas has huge shopping malls, but it's all a bunch of house wife garbage. Very little high fashion goes on there. Not anything like what you'd find in Manhattan or in Hollywood.

I'll put it this way. I've gone out, partied and picked up girls in 20-25 US cities. Austin makes the Top 10, but not the Top 5. Dallas and Houston don't even come close to the Top 10. Even though both of them have some decent venues, they're both sooooooo spread out, it literally takes 30-40 minutes to drive from one place to the next or to get home. Logistics are a nightmare in southern cities. On top of that, the girls are nothing special compared to the coasts. AND you have to deal with the southern belle attitude where girls expect you to be chivalrous and are used to having guys buy them flowers and crap all the time. So yeah, not big on Dallas...

For any non-American guys who want to do a US trip, I always tell them this. You HAVE to hit NYC-Vegas-LA. Those three are mandatory. If you've got some money and want a beach, work Miami into it. If you want a B-list city that's a bit easier to get laid in but still has decent quality, hit up Boston. In general, the further away from the coasts you get, the worse the nightlife gets, the uglier and fatter the girls get, the more redneck the people get, and the less fun shit there is to do. The only exceptions (kind of) are Chicago, New Orleans and Austin... all three of which aren't bad choices for a stop over, but you would never want to plan an entire trip around them.

What does that mean exactly?

No LV,GUCCI,PRADA,CHANEL etc?

Even eastern european cities have those,or what difference do you mean?

I guarantee you every girl in that video was paid to be there.

I shouldn't have to say this, but GGW isn't a very accurate measure of night-to-night happenings in American cities. And their "award" probably doesn't mean anything. Like I said, they go around and hire strippers to do that shit. None of those are real girls.

As far as fashion, the further west you go in the US, the more you get into trashy, obnoxious fashion like Ed Hardy/Affliction shirts, big baggy pants, etc. There's a lot of shopping in Dallas, but it's all catered to fat 35-year-old house wives with nothing to do. So no, Gucci, Prada, LV, etc. is not common at all in a city like Dallas.

Eastern Europeans dress VERY well compared to 95% of Americans. All Europeans dress very, very well compared to us. It's kind of sad, really.

Houston is a car city like Los Angeles. If you don't know people and the spots to go, you'll be miserable in your hotel room. Austin is fucking tiny compared to other Texas cities so it would be a better vacation spot to fuck girls.

And to be honest i don not really understand why.

US chicks put a lot of make-up on but why do they don't dress better if they have the money(much more than EE girls) for it?

Quote:Quote:

I don't think that Forever21,Gap,American Eagle,A&F,Hollister,Banana Republic etc is catered to fat 35 year housviwes.

Ok,but i don't think you necessarily have to dress in LV,GUCCI etc to be stylish.
I think these clothes are more about snobbism, elitism.

EE women have not even close the coins to buy that shit.

I think it's much more about how you join the single pieces together.
How the pieces do fit on you.

I got back from Austin recently, and seeing that this thread has covered much of the city's prospects, I thought I'd contribute some of my own observations.

As has been stated, bad sex ratios and everyone knowing each other in nightlife are common, particularly in the downtown venues. I experienced this across the city, but this downside is compensated for by the lack of game among the general male population, even the wealthy or fratty or good-looking dudes. I was never the best dressed, best looking or most socially proofed guy at the several venues I frequented, yet I found 6s-8s to be warmly receptive and looking to have fun. When they weren't receptive, they were mostly nice -- I never got "Blown Out" once, even after many an approach.

I wouldn't say that the place is crawling with hotties, as some have said, but Austin is above average when it comes to female looks, attitude, and availablity. But in the following venues I'd say you'd have a good chance of finding a several 7s (and up) who are not attached and not bitches. (I attended all of these places multiple times each over the course of about two weeks.)

Downtown
- The Dogwood: relaxed bar that's not exactly professional, not exactly hipster. Ages ranged 25-35. Cool bartenders (at least one attractive female one) and bouncers.

- a bar whose name escapes me (and isn't named on Google Maps), with outdoor seating enclosed by black-painted metal railing, on the SE corner of 6th and Rio Grande, diagonal from a place called Opal Divine. Younger crowd than Dogwood, but not a kindergarten. (Like Dogwood, this is on West Sixth.)

- Two dance clubs, Aqua and Geisha: both downtown. I saw both the best ratios and the best-looking and youngest girls here. I got into Geisha easily even without female company, but Aqua is the opposite. Because they lean young, both venues might be uncomfortable for the 30+ guy.

(As far as West Sixth goes, the venues on the north end of the street, excepting Star Bar, which is OK, were the most clique-y and fratty. I'd avoid.)

South Austin
- The Highball: somewhat hipster-saturated but not sickeningly so. Think people aged 21 through 40 all dressed like theyre still in college. Includes a bowling alley and kinda cool private karaoke boths (neither of which I sampled). Boasts awesome 60s Rat Pack interior design -- you might not care about this, but your date might.

- Gibson: across the street. Unlike Highball, no college girls or guys, ever; most people looked 25 to 30. I don't remember it being too loud, so conversation game should work well here. Another cool thing about is that you can meet a girl at the bar, and isolate at one of many booths and tables, that while only a maximum of thirty feet away, feel intimately located, thanks to dim lighting and layout. Also has a quiet patio, not streetside, which I found very useful.

- Perla's: bar/seafood restaurant. Plenty of all-female groups lounging on the patio facing South Congress. Don't waste your time sitting at the bar, grab a deck chair outside.

*****
Recap and gurther brief thoughts:
- Ratios are bad, and lots of people know lots of others when out.
- Guys don't present that much competition.
- Saw not a single interracial couple that wasn't white male/ Asian female.
- Talent is not great, but solid. No obese women anywhere.
- Don't go to much-hyped rock clubs (example: Continental Club); they're too loud to talk in, and the crowd is way old, as in middle-aged.
- Stick to West 4th and West 6th as far as downtown goes, and South Congress ("SoCo") and South Lamar ("SoLa") aka South Austin.
- Dirty Sixth in East Austin is literally dirty and has too many hipsters. If neither is your thing, avoid.

Especially for hitting the venues on West 6th, or in downtown in general, a probably economical place to stay is a weekly hotel on the corner of West 6th and Guadalupe: Extended Stay America.

It's within walking distance of Whole Foods, where you can do your grocery shopping and daygame. Such hotels usually have kitchens (check this property, though), and you can save money on food by eating in, especially if you stay in Austin for more than a few days, which you definitely should in order to take advantage of its nightlife.

Nice update, Sangfroid.

I really like Austin. It gets a little too much hype, IMHO, but it is a decent place to pick up women.

EDIT:

How old are you?

I find Austin is more fun if you are college-aged (like me) since so many of the single women in Austin are young.

I'm 30-ish. I agree that a very young guy such as yourself will probably have the most success there, but aside from the "inbred" social climate mentioned by Entropy4, I don't think advanced age -- up to 40 even -- is much of a hindrance as long as it's compensated for by game and fashion sense.

I want to emphasize that the worst thing about my stay there was the ratios and low turnout at venues during the workweek, but these are problems that seem to be everywhere, due to the economy.

I've lived in Austin for the past 4.5 years. What has already been said by Entropy4 and Easy E is spot on so I wont repeat anything.

The main thing that frustrates me with this city is that the majority of the hottest girls here are in college. UT, St. Edwards, Texas State. It's pretty easy to get numbers and in-bar makeouts from some really cute girls here, but then they will get dragged away by their friends/sorority sisters. Then it is near impossible to get them to meet up again. They have their own college click with tons of dudes they see all the time. There are not a lot of good paying non-tech jobs here so the best girls leave after graduating to LA, NYC, or marry their college boyfriend. I have had my best luck with the higher end girls right after they graduate in June and their social circle starts to dissolve. I'm 28 now though and probably outgrowing this city. Thinking about going to NYC in the next year or two.

Scalleywag,

Your observation of Austin not retaining its young, post-college, single female population is an interesting one; I'd be interested in hearing what other Austin veterans think of it. It certainly is one way to explain the bad ratios I and others talked here about.

The venues I listed seemed to me to have the best selection of 6-8s in the 25-30 age range; what does an Austinite like yourself think of my venue selection?

I flew to Austin Texas last year on business, actually my old employer "Pervasive Software" have their Head Office there in the Technology Park. So to cut a long story short, I didn't "love" the place but I kind of liked it. Much better than so many other U.S Cities & I love the Architecture of the Government Buildings, the HUGE campus in comparison to the size of the City. There were obviously quite a few young student hotties, being a University City, but the ratio of Guys to Girls wasn't a strong point. Yes a cockfest. [Image: sad.gif]
So being as I'm as British as an Mi5 Secret Agent, I got a very well spoken English agent. I try to pronounce my words in the "Queens English" [Image: wink.gif] (think Roger Moore in Cannonball Run, chatting up all the ladies in his DB5). Anyway this can be useful when walking into the Aqua Club that's full of Texans. They don't get many English Chaps in their City, as Austin isn't an International Airport.

So I walk up to the first 24 year old (she was a 7) who notices me in Aqua; to be honest I can't even remember my opener..but I generally don't use cheesy chat up line. I spilled out something in my best Hugh Grant voice and she literally just tongued me. [Image: smile.gif] - I admit she was a little drunk, but she said to me distinctly "I love your accent, are you Australian?" (This happens a lot frustratingly when they've never travelled) "No" I replied, "I'm British". She said "I don't care where you're from, as long as it's not from here." [Image: smile.gif]

Now I rarely get tongued after 5 seconds by a cutie (who does?) - but that night "accents were my friend." [Image: wink.gif]

Sangfroid,

I definitely think that is why the ratio is bad on W 6th, since that is an older crowd 25+. I still need to check out Geisha its only a couple months old. Bars close and open here all the time so a new bar will get the hottest girls for the first couple months it is open. I think the other club you guys are talking about is actually called QUA. It gets a lot of tourists so its good to find girls who are in town just looking to have fun. When I first moved here in 2007 Austin was a dirt cheap place to live even on places like south congress where the apartment pools in that area were almost like spring break during the summer. We now have the highest rent in the state of TX. So like Entropy said a lot of girls live 20-30 min away now.

I had an extremely similar experience in Dallas last night. Haha - what a touch. I'm sure Miami has a more international feel than Dallas! It's a great feeling when they make it easy.

BTW - right now i'm in Poland and they've got Wrangler Stores here! WTF??? I hate these jeans! The only jeans a player should be wearing are Diesel and sometime True Religion. [Image: banana.gif]

Nah, the bad ratios can be explained by all the hype Austin gets in the mainstream press. This causes tons of dudes to move to Austin in the hopes of hooking up with college cuties. I can't tell you how many dudes I have met in Austin who just moved here to take jobs as waiters, cashiers, etc...
