lol The reason it's not confusing is because it's about the tourist girl scene. Any data sheet about Thai women is bound to be confusing.

Anyways, definitely an A+ datasheet.

Yeah, I did notice an omission of the endless stories of "shoring" from this sheet. And stories of meeting girls on ThailandStupid.com.

Did you guys try the "Look, I am young. I am ripped. I am in Ketosis. I am not paying for sh*t. Now come and make some pad thai and mop my floors before I twist your wig back" type Game on hookers with 100% conversion?

This really goes for all of the islands, but there is definitely very few non-working Thai girls there. This has more than the other islands, but if you are looking for Thai girls, then the islands are not the place to find them. I did manage to pull one who was the bartender at a place across from Green Mango but that was a pretty rare find. I swore she was an undercover hooker but turned out to definitely not be, as she went out of her way to tell me that she wasn't so I wouldn't even ask her.

That's how it happens. Would be a different story if Qwest was a fat old man in socks and sandals.

If that's all you've gotten from Thailand threads, I really can't tell if you're far more confused than I thought, are engaging in selective reading, or morphing into a Thailand troll. In fact, the only thread I personally got into info about shoring in Thailand was in direct response to the shitty situation with local girls in tourist areas, which these guys have acknowledged, and the confusion thereof. In all others I've described something quite different.

I remember explicitly stating in that thread several times that most foreigners, especially short-termers, were better off chasing Western tourists when on the islands, as this OP has so eloquently done. In fact, most Westerners are probably better off with that scene everywhere in the country - I've said that too.

In every single other thread about this subject, I've tried to remind people that shoring and internet dating doesn't apply to mainstream Thai girls and that only guys with game need apply for the quality vag in that country.

My tales to the dark side were an honest effort to illustrate a point about a country of deep contradiction. Sorry if I didn't sugarcoat them but I was also clear they only represented a fraction of my time and experiences there. Rio and others have backed me on the "other" side of the story when it comes to thai lizards - a side most foreigners never experience.

If I were you I'd simply stop struggling to understand the reality there from abroad. If you're so inclined, go there with a plan to bang Euros and Aussies and, while passing through Bangkok, have a reputable player from the board introduce you to the mainstream Thai club scene for a demo.

Problem solved.

More and more your jabs in this department seem to focus only on one side of the story with Thai girls - the stereotype perpetuated by the typical Western traveler - - even though several of us have gone to great lengths to illustrate there is more than one side of the story, and even though you readily admit you're confused.

Exactly - I caught that as well but wasn't going to stir the pot again. A definite shore that one.

This: "I swore she was an undercover hooker but turned out to definitely not be, as she went out of her way to tell me that she wasn't so I wouldn't even ask her."

It's quite common for them to do this if you go read my explanations of the bargirl scene again. There are several reasons for this but point is that whores do tell the occaisional fib. [Image: wink.gif]

Can't tell you how many times I've seen one of these birds work a crowd of naive tourists, even one that includes Western women, and having all think she's nothing more than a diamond in the rough.

Thai Islands Datasheet- Koh Samui, Koh Tao, Koh Phi Phi

Excellent datasheet Qwest! I was planning on writing one up for Koh Tao but I'll just add some info to yours.

So I spent a week on the island and was fortunate enough to link up with Qwest and InternationalSwagger, two very legit guys with very tight game, actually these guys were probably two of the most impressive players I've met from the forum so far.

I think these guys fall into the category of guys who just have to "not fuck up" and they'll pull, an example of this being the night where we got some buckets off the street on our way to Lotus when some chick opened us up "so where are you guys from", she was likely Scandinavian, tall and pretty cute but the boys pretty much dissed her and we headed to the beach. Shortly after I met the French girl Qwest pulled and she was hot, nice one Qwest. InternationalSwagger quickly disappeared and I didn't see him again that night, he was on the prowl and as Qwest mentioned, he killed it. I also saw the idiots doing push ups in the street and shortly after the four blonde English girls in the pics walked by too. Unfortunately, I had to be up early everyday and wasn't keen on doing my diving course hung over, so I had to cut the nights short and went back to my hotel early both nights, too bad, looking back I should have postponed the diving just to go out all night with those guys.

Getting to Koh Tao: I flew Royal Thai Airways from BKK to Surathani (return flight 4500 Baht), didn't pre-book anything else and easily bought the bus and ferry tickets at the airport, both for 900 Baht. You take a coach stlye bus to the pier (about 1.5 hours) then I took the Lomprayah high speed ferry (highly recommended: http://www.lomprayah.com/), it takes three hours to get there because the ferry first stops at Koh Samui then Koh Phagnan before arriving at Koh Tao. Warning: there's a guy at the BKK airport who works for another ferry company called Seatran or something, his office is literally located right next to the check in line where you pass through security and attractive Thai women will try to entice you into buying tickets from them and even tell you that Lomprayah doesn't go to Koh tao any longer, don't fall for this because its BS.

Diving: I was recommended to get my PADI certification at Koh Tao by a friend of mine who said it was very cheap and a great place to learn and it certainly was. Before heading down from BKK, Qwest got in touch through the forum and told me he was doing his at Simple Life Divers and highly recommended it so I took his advice and am glad I did.

The resort itself was nice, the rooms were great, good restaurant and only a two-minute walk to the beach. There's so many diving outfits on Koh tao (60-70 I think) that you don't even really have to pre-book, although I did, it was 9800 Bhat for the course and about the same price for four nights at the hotel. I lucked out as it was slow the day I registered and got one-on-one instruction from the dive instructor for the entire PADI course, which took me four days to do, I think you can do it in three as Qwest did.

The water is mostly shallow and may seem a bit weak for advanced divers, I hear the diving is much better at Koh Phi Phi. Still there were tons of cool tropical fish to be seen, including a few monster barracudas, didn't see any sea turtles or whale sharks but apparently they're around. The coral wasn't the best but still interesting for a first time diver like myself. There is at least one ship wreck to dive, but it was deeper than my ope-water PADI cert allowed me to dive, I'll be getting my advanced soon enough.

I really liked Koh Tao, as Qwest and IS pointed out, its small and very laid back as most people are there to go diving and not into the hardcore party scene as they are on Koh Phagnan. That being said, there are some decent bars and the parties on Sairee Beach, the area where we did our diving. This is where you'll want to stay if you want to party on Koh Tao, the other areas are too quite for that scene, although you can get around the island pretty quickly, the taxis are very expsensive. Depending on your budget, its not a wallet buster but still, the ten minute drive from Chalok to Sairee is about 400 Baht, which is what the thirty minute drive from Sukhumvit to the airport in BKK is.

Other activities/areas:

I stayed at Sairee for four nights, during my dive course but moved down to the quieter area of Chalok, about ten minutes away and stayed right on the beach at a nice hotel called Big Fish, it was cheaper at 1500 Baht than the 2400 I was spending at Simple Life. There's a few other dive shops around, restaurants and bars, but the party scene is much tamer than Sairee Beach. Big Fish is conveniently located next to two hippy stoner bars: Raggae Bar and High Life. I recommend a trip to High Life even if you aren't into smoking the pre-rolled spliffs they sell there or the mushroom shakes, its very high up on a hill (brutal walk) but the sunset over Chalok bay was the best I saw in Thailand so far.

Fishing: I'm an avid sport fisherman, I fucking love going fishing wherever and whenever I travel, if I can spend a day fishing, I will and I am glad I did in Koh Tao because it has some of the best fishing I've ever done in my life. Its obviously fishing in the sea and this can be organized by most hotels, it costs 1600 Baht for an entire day from 8:30-4:00pm, you can also do night fishing. We caught mostly snappers (about a dozen) but also hauled in a nice big marlin and a king mackeral, those fish were impressive fighters and the captain chopped me off a nice big piece of the marlin which I had BBQ'd on the beach at my hotel restaurant.

Muay Thai: There's two gyms to train at, one in Sairee area (the best) and a shitty little one in Cholok. I don't train at either because I was too busy fishing and diving but did manage to catch a fight night on Sunday at the one in Sairee. It wasn't that good really, I've seen much better and I'm still raking my brains as to whether I felt comfortable watching two, ten year old Thai boys beating the shit out of each other, the locals sure did enjoy it though!

Nangyuan Island: Go here for a day or a few hours, trust me. Basically its a really nice resort only accessible by boat taxi, which you can take, round trip from Sairee Beach for 200 Bhat. Its the nicest beach on Koh Tao, has a dive resort and when I was there, it was full of hot women. I spent about four hours there, mostly tanning and swimming but also made the hike up to this massive rock which has a stunning view from the top. You can check it out here: http://www.nangyuan.com/

Scooter/ATV rentals: Lots of options on the island, you can rent a regular 125 CC scooter (which I did), they have off road tires as opposed to the smooth city tires you'll see on other scooters in Thailand, which is good because the roads here suck! You can also rent all sizes of dirt bikes, mostly Kawasaki (KLX 125 and 250) and also Quads and side by sides.

As Qwest mentioned, this is risky and you'll see lots of people patched up walking on crutches because of accidents, rough roads and tons of drunk foreigners buzzing around the island. Also, there's a known scam on the island where if you so much as put a scratch on one of those things they will charge you exorbitant prices when you return them. When I rented my scooter I took lots of photos before hand and had no problems when I returned it, probably because I didn't drive drunk and am experienced at riding bikes so had no problem.

Finally, I didn't do so well with the game side of things, mostly because I was very busy with the diving and fishing I only really partied hard one night and was severely cock blocked by my female Canadian friend who I brought along. I will elaborate on this later, I'm up in chaing Mai now, where the party scene isn't nearly as good but I'm doing lots of "adventure" activities here. I have lots of quality info for you guys in my upcoming Thailand datasheet.

Anyway, great report Qwest and it was a pleasure to meet up with you guys, hopefully we'll meet up again soon so I can party hard with you guys. And for all of you RVF guys who are looking for nice place to relax, dive and party, Koh Tao is an excellent option!

Btw, make sure you check out the elephant riding, hiking, bamboo rafting etc. I believe I paid 750 baht. Dont get gypped by the 3k baht foreigner prices.

Great report, I'm especially interested in the diving aspects. How was the marine life? Wrecks?

I found the diving to be pretty damn good but it really does change on a day to day basis with the visibility. I haven't dove extensively so hard for me to stack it against other places but I would say it was very good, with Koh Phi Phi being excellent.

THere is always at least 1 hot girl in the group but these kind of intense party islands make isolating quite hard. I got lucky a few times by just hanging out at a certain roof top bar just off the main strip. I have terrible night game in an intense club environment so if you are a crazy party monster I am sure you could get laid every night.

I cant say that I found isolating to be that hard as once the chicks were drunk (12-1AM) their friends seemed to be scattered all over the place and her friend was probably hooking up with some guy anyways. I think the inhibitions are SO far gone when chicks come here that in most groups you don't have the cock blocking friend who is miserable not getting any D because they are all getting it! Other vacation spots for whatever reasons, you can really have this problem. I think it has something to do with the unorganized debauchery on the beach which doesn't feel like the chicks are IN a certain venue so friends wander all over the place. Its just sort of partying on the sand, loosely inside an establishments boundaries. This lends itself well to just kind of wandering off with her and friends not missing her...me ans Swagger talked about this while there because it was weird that you DIDN't really have these issues...my theory anyways.

It becomes so easy, that it's perhaps the single best place in the world to bang hot, young Western women.

Though, I can't help but feel that Pho Phi is broken. Too many people, and little respect for the island as a whole. It rubbed me the wrong way that one of the most stunning islands in the world was subjected to day after day of reckless abandon.

Agreed that its probably the easiest place in the world at least from what I have seen of the world.

Yeah, it is a bit of a shame how little respect people have for the beauty that lies there. You just can't have that many young people drunk as hell and then showing respect for their surroundings. A shame, but true... Sadly when it turns to a dump nobody will be there.

I honestly don't think in hindsight that it was "shoring". I thought she was a hooker because I was on red alert thinking EVERY Thai girl is a hooker basically. She wasn't working in a girly bar, and was actually bar tending behind the bar with two western dudes and I had to wait for her to count out her till before we could leave together. Don't think they are giving hookers this kind of job but I may be wrong??

She also then came the next day to our pool and hung out with her friend and I honestly don't think she was, just based on the few hours the next day I spent with them. Friends with her on fb now also and still don't see any signs. Again, I may be wrong, but I consider myself pretty damn street smart in general and she may throw me off for a minute, but between that night and the next day through sober eyes I really don't think so.

This reminded me of something I almost forgot though because we did almost get caught up with a couple in Bangkok. Two nice ones who we spent a fuckin' hour of primetime with before figuring it out. We thought we hit gold for a little! haha...I ended up cussing her out for wasting our time and telling her to fuck off but they both deserved it. They had a pretty damn good cover though but in hindsight I can see ALL the indicators. They were met at Levels in case anyone is interested.

The one in Samui, no signs ever surfaced...

That's a problem with Soi 11. A lot of normal Thai girls go to some clubs there, even quite a bit of rich/international Thai girls go there, but you also get a higher class of Thai hooker there as well. It can be really difficult to distinguish who is who.

Good info on the islands. Everyone gives me shit for not going there after roughly 10 months in Thailand. I need to make it down there one of these times.

I was in Pattaya for the past two nights (was with a girl, so no gaming for me) and seeing quite a bit of hot Russian chicks actually gave me cravings to bang a white chick. The quality of white chicks in BKK is pretty low, so might have to hit up the islands for that.

Yup, you definitely do need to get down there for that. You should be able to catch a cheap flight to Phuket or Koh Samui and then boat to Phi Phi or Koh Tao which is basically free.

Damn, I didn't see any Russians that I can remember in Koh Tao unfortunately! I have noticed that everywhere I have seen them though is that they travel with their BF's, and don't seem to do many "girl trips" which sucks.

Good added info too Scotian, glad you got some other activities in also!

Appeared the same in Pattaya. All of their boyfriends were these pudgy mongoloid looking motherfuckers with mullets. Ugliest guys I've seen in my life. What is with that haircut these Russian dudes rock? Like they just shave the sides and let the rest grow into some funny looking mullet.

This one isn't half as bad as most of what I saw:

One of my boys was in Pattaya for a month and cleans up regularly with Russian Chicks there who are starving for dick on vacation and all of the foreigners are going for Thai working girls leaving the Euros all alone....BINGO! I even saw some of the cool local "Fire Jugglers" Thai dudes getting with some of the Euro Girls...lol.

The beaches in Thailand and Philippines attract many well off Russians and Ukrainians many time vacationing with family or there boyfriends because it's the closest tropical beach to their own countries. I had luck in Borocay, Philippines with a vacationing Ukraine girl that was epic night a few years ago. But all of the Thai Islands blow Borocoy OUT OF THE WATER...No comparison...Definitely coming back to Thailand soon.

Where to stay:

We stayed a block from the beach at the Simple Life Dive Resort (its just a hotel in a good location and I dont think most of the guests were even diving) in Sairee Beach which is the only place to be. We had the Deluxe Room for the first 4 nights which was VERY pimp (by US standards) and cost about $110USD/night. Very modern, huge shower, good mood lighting, and a patio. We then stayed for two more nights and got the standard room which was pretty similar but the bathroom wasn't as nice. This cost was $75USD. Perfectly fine for what you need.

According to the Simple Life Dive Resort's website they have twin bed Fan rooms available for 600 baht (about $20) a night, but you paid three times that for the Standard A/C room. Is it so hot in Koh Tao that getting a fan only room would be unbearably hot?

P Dog, those are their most basic rooms, I believe that they let divers who are on their courses stay in them for free. Yes Koh Tao is definitely hot like all of southern Thailand and I wouldn't consider staying in a non-AC room.

Qwest, I ended up hanging out with a Russian couple at Lotus, I was in line with them getting some whippets (yes I did those again!), the girl was a smoking hot 32 year old on her 3rd marriage, apparently this time it was for love with her 22 year old fiance, the other two exes were older guys. I saw quite a few on Nangyuan Island just hanging out and tanning. I'd say Pattaya is a good place to be if you're after the Russians, I was there with 20nation and he gamed a couple of them there.

RM, ya its Diablos, I'm staying across the street on Moonmuang road, heading up to Pai tomorrow.

Thai Islands Datasheet- Koh Samui, Koh Tao, Koh Phi Phi

Thread bump: Flew to Krabi last night from BKK, met up with THC and we stayed in Ao Nang (decent spot), we're catching a boat to Phi Phi today for the next 2-3 days. Plans are to party hard and I'd like to go diving, it will be interesting to see how the crowds are during low season, hopefully there's still lots of big boobed Swedish girls running around.

We plan on also hitting up Railey Beach for some rock climbing and Phuket on Saturday to party, we'll be meeting up with RVF member Soma at some point in the next few days.

The fucking mosquitos and and ants are brutal here!

Thai Islands Datasheet- Koh Samui, Koh Tao, Koh Phi Phi

Arrived in Koh Phi Phi on Wednesday afternoon and stayed for 48 hours, its a very nice island and had some very good times, but game wise it was a disaster!

Hotels: I stayed at RS guest house and paid 900B, decent room and a great location, about 300 meters from the best beach bars, the hotel is about 30 meters from the beach.

Food: We weren't very impressed with the food, for whatever reason, each meal we ate left us less than impressed. We at at Matt's Joint once, they have an all you can eat BBQ but we didn't partake, we had some Mexican food there and it sucked.

Random Info: There are no motorized vehicles on Phi Phi, only bicycles, be careful when walking down the side streets as people on bikes pass by you, its like Amsterdam there with all of the bicycles.

There's no dogs on the island, from what we saw anyway, but there are lots of cats, tons of pussy in Koh Phi Phi, I don't think I've ever seen so many hot young girls prancing around in bikinis as I did in Phi Phi, I basically had a hard on the entire time I was there.

Tourist crowd: More back packers than I expected, I thought the higher prices would have kept them away but there's some cheap accommodations (hostels, etc) that lure them in. LOTS of Scandinavians, quite a few Russians, and your run-of-the-mill western tourists. Actually saw one large group of package holiday Russian families and another large group of Indian families.

Bars: We went out both nights, first night we hit up slinky's which is the the best club on Phi Phi, its right on the beach and it was packed both nights. They had fire skip rope and fire limbo on the beach with lots of drunk people participating, they also have a mechanical bull and sell laughing gas (whippets) at the bar. There's also a big concrete penis in the sand, right beside the dance floor which attracts quite a bit of attention.

Ibiza: Just down from Slinky's this place had a decent crowd on Thursday, same concept as Slinkys (they also have a giant concrete dick in the sand), actually, there's about half a dozen bars along the beach there and they are all basically the same, but Slinky's attracts the biggest crowd.

Banana Bar: THC and I went there because these two cute English girls handed us a flyer earlier in the day, it seemed like a promising place: rooftop patio (the only one in Phi Phi), cheap booze, beer pong, mexican food, etc. So we went at around 6:30 to watch the sunset (I know, how bromantic), there wasn't a big crowd but the set up was really cool, a funky little spot. However, 90% of the people there were hippy backpackers with dreadlocks and Che Guevara tees on, so we bounced. They sell weed there and you can openly smoke it, no shisha though, hence our departure.

Reggae Bar: best bar I've been to in Asia, now there isn't anything particularly reggae about this joint, they played hip hop the entire time I was there (which was cool), the part I liked was the fact that they have a Muay Thai ring inside the place and if people from the audience fight, they get a free bucket! What a great concept, tourists get shit faced and beat the living crap out of each other!

Little story: So THC, his missus and I rolled into the reggae bar at around 11pm, the place was packed and we ordered our buckets, 2 for 1 deal (at 700B, it wasn't much of a deal but they were quality buckets). There was a steady flow of tourists participating in the fights to get their free buckets, THC and I tossed around the idea of fighting but decided against it. It was very tempting though given the appalling skills of the participants and who wouldn't want to beat the lights out of a grubby backpacker?

I was half done my bucket (first drink of the night) and relatively sober when a tiny Thai guy approached me and asked to fight, when I say tiny, I mean this guy was about 5'0 and 110 Lbs, I'm short as fuck myself (5'4) but had about 40-50 Lbs on this guy. I wasn't sure if I wanted to fight but THC egged me on so I said fuck it, I'll do it for the bucket! I told the guy to wait ten minutes, I didn't want to use the gear all of the stinky backpackers were using so I went back to my hotel and grabbed my gloves, hand wraps and shorts, threw them in my bag, then went back. When I walked in, the Thai guy all of a sudden didn't want to fight me, so he paired me up with this Russian guy, who was about my weight but a good five inches taller and was probably about eight years younger. I say okay, lets do this then the guy sizes me up and decides that he doesn't want to fight, I was disappointed but no big deal, I sat down and proceeded to drink my bucket. Then about two minutes later, the Russian kid says he wants to fight (I think his gf was busting his balls), so I say okay, dropped my drawers and threw on the Muay Thai shorts and started wrapping my hands, then he comes over and says that he won't fight me, fuck, no free bucket for me. The crowd was thinning out and no one else wanted to fight me, maybe next time, THC and I are starting to train Muay Thai again today (after a three month break) and are seriously considering going back to Reggae Bar to test out our skills. Lesson learned: If you want to get in the ring and destroy a back packer, wear your Muay Thai shorts underneath your pants and keep your back pack and gloves hidden from others, don't bust that shit out until the last second when the stinky drunken back packer is already in the ring, then it'll be too late for him to puss out. Also hope to God that the smelly backpacker isn't an under cover Muay Thai champion, or it will be you getting your ass handed to you, which could easily happen to yours truly if we go back to Reggae bar, I'll keep you guys posted.

Koh Phi Phi Game: As I mentioned above, I fucking blew it with the ladies. The first night was decent, I was in a good mood but wasn't aggressive enough, I could have easily banged this English one but I ended up talking to her for too long, then THC told me to step up my game and I continued, but fucked it up with about three more girls before calling it quits. The second night was terrible, I just couldn't seem to get to an optimal level of drunkeness, I really wasn't feeling it and didn't do many approaches early on. Finally at around 2:30, I made some last ditch efforts, chatted with some Euro girls, a Brit then this South Asian American girl, but got clock blocked by one of her friends, decided to say fuck it and went home empty handed, again, for fuck sakes!

Then we arrived in Phuket last night and met up with RVF member Soma, cool Canadian dude and another forum member from the States. We rolled out to the skanky bars in Patong and we all got pretty drunk, we even had a little drinking session in an alleyway where we drank cheap Thai whiskey and red bull before hitting up some clubs. I think we all pulled, I really have the shoring skanks game down pat (yeah I know, what an accomplishment), but I really have to work on my beach party game, I really want to nail and big boobed Swedish girl.

That is crazy because they were EVERYWHERE.

They surely realized the problem and had an extermination and then those backpackers must have been eating those mutts for dinner!

You know whats ridiculous- how giant the rats are. Legitly, the rats are almost the sizes of cats. Its kind of obscene .

WIA- For most of men, our time being masters of our own fate, kings in our own castles is short. Even those of us in the game will eventually succumb to ease of servitude rather than deal with the malaise of solitude

After Koh Phi Phi, THC and I took a two hour ferry (cost 250B) to Phuket, got in a shuttle bus (cost about 200B) and got dropped of in the epicenter of Phuket's skankiness, Patong.

Patong, Phuket: I would say that Patong rates up there with the seedy parts of BKK (Soi Cowboy, Nana, Patpong, etc) although not nearly as crazy and skanky as the Disney Land of sex tourism, Pattaya, it has it all: ladyboys, whores, greasy sex tourists, etc. One thing I did like about the place was that some of night clubs were really big. We stayed there for three nights, which was about one night too long for me but we all had a good time.

Hotel: We stayed at White Patong boutique hotel and the rooms were pretty good, a little small but a large bed, new appliances, clean, etc. At 800B per night, the price was right and the location was excellent, only a two minute walk from all of the action on Bangla Road.

Bangla Road: Similar to Walking Street in Pattaya, its about a one kilometer stretch of insanity and full of people, this is the place to be in Patong.

Clubs: The first night we hit up seduction, its smaller than the other clubs but still a decent size and there was a good crowd there although we noticed a lot of foreigners, especially Russians, most of whom appeared to be couples. That was okay though as THC and I both pulled from there, the two other RVF members we're rolling with hit up Hollywood, which we all hit up the next night. Hollywood is very big, two large rooms and it was packed on both Saturday and Sunday, drinks are a bit pricey though at 200B ($6.70 USD), lots of foreigners there, no cover charge.

Bottles list at Hollywood:

Tiger: This was my favorite club, it is huge and the interior is decorated with these huge tiger heads and snakes everywhere, I think its three levels, massive. The fact that four people died in this club last year after a fire broke out did not deter us dedicated poon hounds from partying there.

Patong overall: I didn't really like it very much in Patong, a bit too sleazy and it was also very expensive, although we found a good deal on the hotel, food and drinks were the highest price I saw in all of Thailand. I'd recommend it for a night or two to party with some guys but there's much better options in Phuket as we later found out.

Rawai, Phuket: The four of us took a van from Patong to our hotel in Rawai, it was about a twenty minute drive and cost us 800B, this place is much more my style, its very close to some great beaches and is home to several Muay Thai gyms, its very chill and laid back, although there are plenty of decent restaurants, pubs and a few nice night clubs here.

Hotel: We got a great deal on a very nice place to stay at Thai Palace Resort, couldn't find a website to link to but you can easily find it on Agoda. This is the best value for money of all the places I stayed in my six months in Asia: huge room, desk, flat screen TV, big porch, nice bathroom, very nice pool, breakfast included, all for 900B (about $30USD). That's the low season price, it goes up to 2000B during high season.

Here's a pic of the room (yes, I had some company):

So I think I'm gonna bounce tomorrow or the next day and hit up Railey beach to do some rock climbing before heading back to BKK, I'll keep this thread updated. Nothing too exciting going on for me, after drinking for five days straight, I've decided to take is really easy here in Rawai. Of course, THC has been partying every night and picking up every night, I don't know how that crazy fucker does it.

Railay, Thailand: After all of the crazy partying I did with the RVF crew in Phuket, it was time to chill and go somewhere laid back, so I took the advice of a buddy of mine and headed over to Railay. Unsurprisingly, THC and the other poon hounds decided not to join me and went back to that Skank fest we all know as Patong, so I rolled solo, which is alright with me, sometimes I need a couple of days of down time.

Getting there/leaving: I took a boat from Phuket, organized through a local travel agent, the ticket cost 800B and included pick up from my hotel and a ride to the boat. The boat took about two hours then we got off in Ao Nang, and then took a much smaller wooden boat with an out board motor (the first one was a ferry actually) for about twenty minutes before arriving in Railay. I'm taking another boat to Krabi today and a bus to the airport, for 700B.

Hotel: I stayed at Railay Viewpoint Resort and recommend it, the price for a room with queen sized bed was 1000B, decent sized room and decent furnishings although not as nice as the hotel in Rawai. They had everything there, full restaurant (with all you can eat buffet every night), free buffet breakfast, travel agency, ATM, massage parlour, internet cafe. The only shitty thing was they charged 200B for 24 hours of WIFI.

Night Life: Very few options, Railay isn't really the place to come party although there are some decent little bars along the concrete path along the water, with the Last Bar being the closest thing to a night club you will find.

Getting around: Railay is very small and there's no motorized vehicles, you can walk everywhere. Basically there's two main areas one is the West Side, that's where I got off the boat and the other side is the East, where I stayed, you can walk from one end to the other in about ten minutes. I recommend staying on the East side as that's where the night life is.

Things to do: I came to Railay to do rock climbing, which is what its most known for and it was pretty good, I'm a beginner, so no crazy cliff hanging but for 800B (organized by the hotel), it was a fun way to spend the afternoon and meet other travelers. My entire body, especially my back and forearms are hurting today.

At the 1:05 mark you will see the exact spot where I was climbing yesterday:

As in most other places around the southern islands in Thailand you can rent kayaks, go snorkeling, island hopping and other activities. Also, there's no police here (I didn't see any) and you can buy and smoke dope in a few different bars, you'll see the ones I'm talking about, can't miss them, just listen for reggae music and look out for the local Thai rastas.

Overall: I didn't run any game here, went to sleep early the first night so I'd be ready for the rock climbing and spent most of last night on the shitter, the green apple splatters got me again! The scene here is mostly young back packers, I'd recommend taking a girl if you can. Railay has some great beaches and chill little coves, there's also wild monkeys running around and some really loud frogs croaking at night. It was a good way to relax and chill after a week of hard partying.

I'm leaving to Krabi soon and flying to BKK to meet up with THC, gonna be a good night tonight!
