Especially if she has money. I don't think there is much you can do. If she does prove you are the father, and with money she may be able to go to court in order to do so, you won't really be able to run from it.

They can take your passport away for past due child support payments.

I would be cutting my income down as much as possible to insure there wouldn't be much of a payment. That is, if she is really pregnant and it's yours. I had a friend run all of his money through his own company so he was able to pay a low salary to cut down his payments.

She could also be lying and got knocked up by someone else.

I would make sure she knew I wouldn't be part of the kid's life or hers. Maybe that will call her bluff, if she is bluffing.

It sounds like she isn't in it for the money. How much would you say this girl likes you? If she really likes you, then it sounds like she might just be doing this to ensure she personally owns your attention. If I were you I'd tell her you'll be happy to pay the child support, but you won't be part of her life if she chooses to have a child. Make it clear to this bitch that she stands to gain nothing she doesn't already have. Give her no incentive to carry it to term.

She won't believe you if you say you refuse to pay, she knows she legally owns you, so the better option would be to reframe.

And if she still chooses to carry it to term you have three options. 1) Pay, 2) Jail, 3) Disappear.

No job wouldn't matter if you are ordered child support payments. Plenty of men in jail for losing their jobs and not keeping up with the payments.

It doesn't matter if she needs money or not. I had a friend who knocked up a chick before we met in college. She didn't need the money because her parents where taking care of everything. She still fucked him hard simply because he rejected her. It was very harsh and the guy was trying to get through college so he could support his girl better. It didn't matter to her.

Well, if it was me, I wouldn't try running from it. I think making myself available in order to defend myself would be a better alternative. I would rather be there when discussing child support payments (after taking a dna test to confirm).

I just don't think it's possible to run from this but maybe some of our lawyers here can pop in with some advice. I would still tell her never to contact me and I would not have anything to do with her or the kid. Maybe that will knock some sense into her.

I think this is sound advice. It is, however "Plan A." You need to come up with a Plan B in case she insists on having the child.

Here's the deal regarding child support. If she never files for child support, you have no obligation to provide support whatsoever. Neither the court system, nor anyone else except for her really knows that you exist. If she does file for child support, you have no obligation to respond to anything or appear anywhere until you are served with papers. They can't screw you in court if you have absolutely no notice that you have anything pending. In my state, even if the mother files a Complaint for Child Support, the father has absolutely no obligation to pay any support which accrued before the date of filing the Complaint. For example, if the mother waits until the child is fourteen years old to file a Complaint for Child Support, the most the father could be on the hook for would be four years. Some states are different and the mother can seek support which accrued prior to filing the Complaint.

If you don't resolve this matter through Plan A, my strong recommendation is that you immediately change your cell number (if that is possible) and that you cut off all contact from this girl. If in the future, you are served with papers, request a paternity test and see if you can work something out with this girl which would include her dismissing the Complaint and you not being hit with an Order to pay child support. Again, if she does file a Complaint, they need to find you in order to serve you with paperwork. Part of the way that I took care of the over $250,000 debt which I previously had (in addition to paying off over $100,000 of it) was that people often couldn't find me to serve me with paperwork, lawsuits got dismissed, and the statute of limitations ran. Some people's lifestyles make them more prone to be served with paperwork. Hermits get served. People who sit on the couch watching porn and playing video games get served. People like me who spend all of their time on the street, in the gym, and working are more difficult to catch.

If you do decide to pay her anything, which I don't recommend at this point, make sure it is by check or money order. Women constantly lie in claiming that they didn't receive cash.
