I can't believe Miami is a contender here from Europe. I would go almost anyplace else on the planet. Except.. Atlanta. New Orleans is calling me though. Vicious have you thought about some Dominican mountain towns?

You have to remember that I've spent the last 15 years enjoying the Baltics, Central Europe and The Med when they all were at their respective primes. When I look at them today all I see how they've gone down from my previous visits. Grass is always greener on the other side I guess.

Regarding the DR, I've honestly tried appreciating black women but failed. There's just nothing about them that really attracts me.

I did have New Orleans in mind but knocked it out at an early stage because of its size and my short stays. If a place has no night life 1-2 nights a week then it's not worth it.

You can goto the DR and only mess with white girls especially if you're whiter than them.

And there's plenty.

Miami is one of, it not the most, divisive places on the planet.

For instance, lately I have been contemplating never leaving the place for an extended amount of time. Honestly. I thought The French Riviera kind of sucked compared to it.

But we all have different likes and dislikes. I can understand how you or anyone else would hate it.

New Orleans has action 7 nights a week, no doubt.

In fact, a random Tuesday night might be the best night there.

Vicious, what about Montreal or Charleston?

I would like to see your take on those places.

New Orleans did also have the hassle of a lot of time missed in connecting flights where I'm coming in from so that was another turn-off.

Admittedly the plane ride is better for both Montreal and Charleston.
Charleston is to small to motivate the long trip.
Montreal... still thinking about it. It's like I don't want to go there because everyone's hyping it. I know it doesn't make sense.

New Orleans is a shithole. I used to live near there when I worked offshore and can't for the life of me understand why it is hyped up here. Locals hate the place. When a player talks about the puss up in there, I just sit back and giggle.

It is not for everyone.

It does have some of the best restaurants in America.

It does have some of the latest nightlife in America.

It does have some of the best Gentleman's clubs in America.

It does have one of the most positive party vibes in America.

It does have one of the best values in America.

It it arguably the most unique city in America.

Some people like those things. Some people hate them.

When you say "locals" I am guessing you mean people that live outside the city. Or outside Orleans and Jefferson Parish etc.

People from New Orleans love New Orleans.

I think the hype phase is over.

I have been de-hyping it for almost a year or so.

It is a great place no doubt, one of my favorites, but it is not easy.

Yes, Memorial Day should be avoided in Miami at all costs. By far the worst time to be there.

It's that time of the year again... neck-to-neck with a conference my American employer holds annually April/May I take a week off in the US.

Previously I've done Miami, New York (several times), Montreal and Nashville.

I haven't been active much on the forum lately and thus haven't followed the hype train, what's good state side on the East coast and/or midwest right now?

New Orleans perhaps? Many places are going to be warming up around that time.

Vicious,

I think you'd enjoy New Orleans.

Excellent weather. Great food - some of the flavors you'll see chefs trying there are unique to New Orleans. Interesting culture.
