I was being paid as the main sparring partner for a guy that was fighting for the UFC title. We were living at the MusclePharm compound in Denver. In there. besides having all sorts of ridiculous equipment (underwater treadmill, hyperbaric chamber) I was put in a machine that supposedly measured all sorts of body content, including body fat.
My numbers actually came up less than 5%. I don't know how accurate that is. Thats just what some hi tech machine said.
I will say that I've been in some sort of fitness routine my whole life. Even as a kid my dad had me running and doing sprints and where I grew up, loading firewood was a daily chore.
Again, I am only talking when I train consistently and for an extended period. Normally I walk around at less than 10 (I think).
edit -Also never done any PED but I'm thinking of taking HGH. MikeCF, what are your thoughts on jintropin? A guy just said he can get me a kit for 500 that will last a few months. Based on your other posts, sounds like it could be BS
also I'm about 6'3. I could never go to a Mr. Olympia...I have skinny calves no matter what I do ;(

^ That is freakish genetics.
Have you tried monetizing your body? Do online training or consultations or something?
There's a lot more money in the fitness space that in online game/travel....
$500 for a kit of generic hgh from China could be legit, or not. It's not going to be pharm grade.
But there was a time when the generic kits treated guys well.
Generic kits are called "red tops," "blue tops," "green tops," etc., for the tops of the bottles. (You pop off a plastic top to reveal the plastic stopper.)
The generic stuff just comes in a plastic container, no labels or anything
But, again, it's hit or miss. So it's not like it's all bunk.
Anyhow, at those prices, it's not going to be name brand gh.
With this stuff, you always want a "canary in the coal mine." Who ran it first? Did his body noticeably change? Did he skin improve (gh skin takes on a glow), he look more youthful, nagging injuries heal?
Otherwise it's a total gamble.

So are you guys saying that I can't expect to get bigger doing Xfit. I gained about 10 lbs from the last 6 months in the gym (went through periods of not being able to work out for a week or so and having a shitty diet due to work, I was hoping for more gains) and am joing a Xfit gym here in a few weeks. I have to do the beginner classes which are only 2-3 times per week for 3 weeks. After that I'll be training 5x a week, eventually working up to a few two a days if I can fit it in.
I know I'm going to lose fat weight from the high intensity but I don't want my muscle growth to stagnate
God'll prolly have me on some real strict shit
No sleeping all day, no getting my dick licked

Mike,
What is bunk gh? Is it just saline solution or something that isn't harmful? Or do people often get sick from a bad kit?

thats pretty amazing. 6'3" 225 5% BF. pretty much god like stature there. mad props to you.
you do have to realize that you're in the less than 1% of natural freaks world wide...so when i'm talking about the impact of crossfit on a person's body, it doesn't apply to you
it applies to guys like me with shit ass genes who would be 40% body fat if they didnt diet and train all the time.

but seriously, what good is it if the "crossfit games" require training that isn't crossfit?
isnt that selling a bill of goods to the general uneducated public that drops $250/mo on box dues?
I dont think so, its always been this way. Since the '08 Games people mostly have been training outside of 'main page.' Its not like its pre-meditated, I have literally watched it get here since 2005 from inside boxes, at the games, etc. Yes there is a marketing aspect to putting Froning front and center, but Crossfit has always put its finest athletes, from the earliest games, front and center, because frankly they are bad ass attractive people. Dont think its a bait and switch, but I do think the functional piece should be promoted more and can be explained more. Thats what the Crossfit Journal is for, but that doesnt get quite the coverage like the sensationalist and sexy stuff.
but the games are meant to promote crossfit
and promote crossfit they do
except to be like those guys in the games, you can't (just) do crossfit
you can't tell me that the enrollment pop boxes get post Games coverage isnt from people thinking, I want to be like that, so I should do xfit.
true, and that gets to my comment about promoting the functionality of the program over the feats of strength and aesthetics. When I started it was all about your Fran time and Total, the games was nearly nonexistent, and it had a sort of hidden mystique of military/LEO doing it. Back then most of the guys in the gym were that too, it had a very cool and functional appeal, plus I came from bicycle racing and was sick of training 15 hours a week.
People come in the gym wanting to do what they see Games athletes do, but if they train regularly, they easily can, just not 5 WOD's in a day worth.
i remember back when there was an underground feel to it. when you're right it was mostly leo/military/fire/rescue people doing it. it seemed a lot more fun then.
hispterizing crossfit.
anyway, i think anything that gets normal people moving is good. i just wish that games were more of a product of the programming is all.

Well like I said this is after training consistently for months. All the guys I know that train CrossFit like that look pretty damn heroic.
MikeCF are these peptides that cause you to release more GH better than injecting the cheap jintropin or whatever?

Mike,
Do you have any experience with IGF-1? Or GHRP-6?

Been doing this since the Summer of 07. 2011 was when I started to Paleo. Then in 2012 I discovered SealFit and I felt like a god. 2013 I added yoga and BJJ. I love this shit. Crossfit was how I stumbled upon pick up (long story for another day).
When I first started off it was before they sold out to Reebok. Now it's more of a fad BUT...find the right instructors and you'll be golden :]
