I'll continue to butt heads with Doc on this but for some men, the casual sex lifestyle never gets old, I know for me it never will but Doc is on that marriage and family train. Some guys want to say fuck off to family life and live the single bachelor lifestyle for a while. When you pay to live in NYC, you are paying for something very few cities in the US can offer a bachelor. There is a reason why despite the expensive rent, tons of younger guys and bachelors choose to flock to the Big Apple. For some guys, this stuff is for life, don't fault them either.

At times, I have been at a debate myself about whether I should choose NYC or Chicago. For my industry, the Chi-town is not nearly as strong as NYC but it does have great value when you factor in Cost Of Living and everything.

The city also does not get the respect it deserves when it comes to women, some serious quality to be had. It isn't just the tall naturally blonde Nordic-descent farmer's daughter or Eastern Euro beauties either, the Chi-town has some of the hottest Indian women I have seen nationwide.

I definitely have had that urge to move to Chicago but socially, it just cannot seem to rival the opportunities that a city like NYC gives to a single guy.

I'm going to quickly revisit the "Cosmopolitan factor" and say that's actually a negative point for NYC.

Chicago is definitely as cosmopolitan as I'll ever need.

The vast majority of people from outside the US here in NYC
are from shit hole countries. Yes, you have Europeans and the cream of the crop from Latin America but that is a small portion.

I think it's wise to separate Manhattan from the rest of NYC too. Because even the trendiest parts of BK are absolute shit holes. Manhattan is great.

I know it's popular to slam Western culture on this forum but in reality it's light years ahead of most of the world.

Again, I say this as a Brit from London which has the exact same situation.

Definitely key to separate Manhattan from the rest of the city, not the same vibe. What has under-whelmed me a bit about even Manhattan is the classy international presence here. Previously on this thread I asked where to find the European talent and I got recommended a few places but for the large part, it seems like Manhattan is largely American.

When I first lived in NYC, I thought it was only the crowds I was hanging around that led me to being friends with some of the more broish and basic cliques but it seems like outside of certain parts of the city, it is all you have for the most part. Soho is the fashion district, the UES and UWS are more old-money, Midtown is for gays, but the rest seems to be more centered for that upper middle class younger American college crowd.

Even then I am not complaining too much because it seems like the finest girls from across the country seem to end up in NYC and you don't have the cliquishness here that you would in more B tier cities.

Then again I might not be looking in the right places but the international presence is quite underwhelming.

NYC is still an American city, despite the large international population. It shouldn't be surprising that there's a large population of Americans and the behavioral implications that come with that.

There are pockets of well-off international people, but you need to know where to go or be in the right circles. Those people have a focused view of the city and will restrict themselves to specific locales generally. Off the top of my head, some potential environments would be hostels, trendy bars and lounges, popular tourist sites, and language schools. There's no one set place unfortunately. If you want to target girls from a specific country or continent, it's generally best to go to that country or continent (with some exceptions).

And I agree about LES. It's been very played out for a while and has become a place where packs of people just show up to continue drinking among themselves. At a certain point in the night you'll just see group after group emerge from taxis or rideshares and headed to the usual hotspots in that area. The golden age of LES for normal night game was probably before 5 years ago.

Eh, Manhattan has its fair share of shitholes too, considering that you also have places like Chinatown, East Harlem, and Inwood on the island. I see what you're saying though.

Yeah the trendy bars and lounges are the go to places for sure for international talent. I mean cold approaching itself can sometimes net you a surprising result, just approached a blue eyed brunette today who I thought was going to be some basic girl but lo and behold, she was Russian. It still does get me how so many parts of Manhattan have that "basic white girl" kind of crowd. Even then, it is a different kind of basic white girl crowd. It's like the basic white girls in this city are the ones setting the trends that the basic white girls across the country are following.

I am glad we agree on the LES though, when I used to live in the city a while back it used to be the place to be.

My thoughts are that the local talent and international talent in the city does not party in the LES anymore because it got a reputation of being the place to be. When that happened, every try-hard from outside of NYC (particularly NJ) and tourist started to hit the place up and it basically became a night out for people to head with their crews.

It seems like when that happens, the talent in the city and international talent find other places to crash at to avoid the annoying try-hards.

A European saying that the only foreigner worth having are basically other Europeans, shocking lol.

Most foreigners in USA are from East Asia or Latin America - they're hardly uncivilized people.

The trendiest parts of Brooklyn (Park Slope, Brooklyn Heights, and Downtown) are actually very nice and upscale. Far, far nicer than the Lower East Side aka Loisada, which is still fairly impoverished.

That being said, give me Manhattan over Brooklyn any day, esp as an avid daygamer.

Which neighborhood in 2019 is what LES was 5 years ago?

I haven't been out much since moving here but from what I've heard,

Meatpacking - high end clubs
Murray Hill - post-grad frat house
Midtown - tourist lounges/bars excluding lavo
Fidi/Chinatown - nothing
Williamsburg - the spot to go out in Brooklyn

Any locals have tips on looking for a office job in NYC? I'm moving to New York as a job seeker soon.

Where do you recommend staying to save money (Brooklyn or Queens and which part)? Airbnb, couchsurfing or a cheap hostel?

I have a bachelor's degree from one of the public ivies: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_Ivy

I will be attending some alumni events from my university in NYC for networking purposes.

Unless you have 192 hours in every day, the city of Chicago will give you ALL the same opportunities as any other major city on earth. There are 10 million people here and way, way more than any person can do in a lifetime.

And yes, the quality of the women here in Chi-town is nationally underappreciated because the city lacks the model scene of NY/LA. But it nonetheless has thousands of 8s running around, which is all any single man should want or need.

I would urge any NYC heads to give Chicago a look in the summer and see just how much of a flyer lifestyle you can have for your $

Summertime CHI is the real deal. My buddy got a blumpkin last summer out in an alley in River North.

There are 4 main areas you can stay in to save money while still being close to the city, they are hoboken/jersey city, astoria/long island city, downtown brooklyn (barclays), and williamsburg/bushwick/bedstuy in brooklyn. You can save a lot more living deep in queens or brooklyn but that's not recommended. Best bet is probably a sublet/temp, you can find them on CL or Gypsy Housing on FB.

Network and get job offers before moving here. The process of getting a job here and anywhere else is no different, except it's probably 10x more competitive.

How are you guys pulling in this city outside of dating apps? I mean certain dating apps here are so fucking stacked it is unreal. Everyday I get about 4 to 5 likes on Hinge and about 3 on CMB. The girls are not unrealistically hot but they are solidly above average in this city.

I want to cold approach again and hit on some women but I haven't been able to get myself to do it. Half the girls in this city, especially the hot ones, these days have their airpods and headphones in. Dating apps have spoiled the fuck out of me in the past few years that its been ages since I did a real cold approach.

Just gotta man up and do the damn thing.

Girls wearing headphones is not an excuse to not approach. Just smile, plant your feet, and point to your ears, indicating that you want her to take her headphones off. You’d be surprised how many will stop and take them off.

It sounds like you’re not approaching the ones without headphones either. How come? You’ll get far higher quality girls off daygame than you will off online “game.” Even a 4/10 is getting roughly 50 swipes a day, whereas an 8/10 isn’t getting approached once in a month (excluding being approached, or really harassed, by creepy catcallers and homeless dudes).

Do you ever do any nightgame? NYC nightlife is incredible compared to basically any city in the world. Obviously the hottest girls are still difficult (as they are anywhere else), but in terms of cute fun and slutty 6s and 7s, it is paradise compared to my city. Quantity central.

If you're still mostly solo, roll out on a Thursday around 930/10 to a bar, grab a beer (no pun intended), and talk to the girls around you. Don't get another drink until you make one good opener. If the bar is dead, move onto the next one, it isn't like there's a shortage of options. Get a buzz going and make some memories. Otherwise, go out with some friends on a weekend.

I'm not much of a daygamer but surely not every girl in the city is wearing headphones all day. Just talk to girls as you go about your day. If you're grabbing a coffee, talk to the girl in front of you in line, or who is at the long table when you sit down, etc.

All that being said, if you're consistently getting laid with good quality online, keep it rolling. If it isn't broke, don't fix it. From my experience though, online can often be a mirage. You match with hot girls, sometimes even flirt with them, but it rarely comes through with dates and lays. Just seems like a shame to live in the greatest nightlife city in the US and not enjoy the nightlife.

Still getting my feet wet with the NYC nightlife and trying to find more chill places with girls as opposed to party spots meant for the weekend. Thank you for the advice RDF and GoingHAM! Definitely get dates from Hinge but it is tough to keep the attention of girls even through text, had a couple dates fall through this past weekend so decided to head out this this weekend with a new roommate who moved here from Texas.

We hit a few bars and I'll give my verdict.

The Ship in Soho.

I have already been to this bar a couple times based on what a forum member posted earlier and I felt that every single time it has been underwhelming. Bar itself is quite small with only a couple bartenders working it while trying to serve everyone, practically a zombie apocalypse type of crowd around the bar which makes the bartenders cranky as they try to serve the drinks. Every time I have gone the quality of girls hasn't been that high either, went with roommate on Friday and it was still low quality. Roommate opened this short blonde only to have her boyfriend hovering nearby and telling him to fuck off, we bounced.

Unless other forum members have had a different experience, not worth it in my opinion, save your hard-earned cash for elsewhere. Texted a friend about my situation and he told me a good spot but one place we told me we should stop by at is the "Gansevoort Rooftop", said it is a chill spot and a nice vibe, apparently a lot of international women to be found from what my friend said.

Gansevoort Rooftop.

So roommate and I head over from Soho to Meatpacking to this spot, at first it seemed like it was not going to be all that great looking at it from the outside but we head over and go up to the penthouse. Arrive to find a nice club-like scene with a well done bar, I get the first round for my wing. Bartenders were chill and cool despite the crowd, way better vibe than The Ship. Encouraging to see a hot Asian girl and a buff brown guy as bartenders, times are changing!

Get our drinks and head over to a seat we found, cool crowd around. Sitting right next to us are these two chicks, one hot blonde and one brunette who was kinda cute, I open them and they are receptive at first. I already find that compared to most cities I have been to, the women in NYC actually appreciate genuine game when you open them, damn I've been missing the fuck out!

Roommate joins the convo and tries to get it going with the blonde who is not interested, the brunette is giving me clear IOIs but a group approaches them, it is a couple other girls and some guys they came with. The two tell us they have to go, we lose out to a big social circle once again.

Do a couple more approaches to kind of warm up, so much European pussy to be found! The girls are nice about it but still reject, I am rusty anyways because I have not done this shit in ages.

Roommate and I sit down over some drinks to talk a little bit more, I quickly drink after a stressful week and head over to the bar, decide I'd cover his tab again.

Go to the bar which is not as crowded, keep making eye contact with this one busty black haired tanned skin girl I made eye contact with a few times throughout the night, eyes lock. I nod her over my way and she joins me at the bar, I get a drink and we talk for a bit, she definitely looks DTF based on the way she is acting.

We chat for a bit, ask her what she is doing her, she says "visiting" from Italy and then I look down at her titts and look back at her face smiling as we talk, she playfully slaps me while laughing. I grab her ass and move her closer to me at the bar, no resistance or anything, only a smile and hairplay. Move my face closer to hers, the way she smells is really turning me on and getting me hard so I just say fuck it and try to make out with her, no resistance there either.

For a second I am thinking it should not be this easy, I mean the chick is pretty cute and all, then I rationalize that I am in the right place at the right time. Make out with her for a few more minutes but then get told we can't be at the bar unless we are getting more drinks. Find a spot nearby to sit down, the bar was not that packed, she is holding my hand tight.

Make out some more, I am getting hard and my heart is starting to beat faster, we are eating each other's faces at this point. So much more happened than what I am writing about on here but it happened so fast and unexpectedly too. It went on for an hour no doubt and I am sure my roommate saw us but was nice enough not to intervene.

She is on me now and I make out with her a bit more before stopping to look each other in the eyes, she has that smile on her face.

She asks me if I am staying at the hotel, I tell her I am not but I live nearby, she tells me she is and her room is a few floors down. Is it really supposed to be this easy or what?

We make out a bit more and then she takes me to her room, we get it on and fuck. My first lay from nightlife ever since coming back to NYC. Roomate met a girl that night too and had a date with her the next day, he likes to take it slow.

Fucking love this city, now I know why I moved back.

Yeah, it was the best kept secret for some European pussy. Speaking of that, I would think that Kips Bay might be a good spot to daygame some European pussy too, I can really use some Scandinavian, Russian, and Slavic pussy right now lol. Then again it is located next to fratty Murray Hill where apparently every douchebag bro moves to right after college.

It is different exploring the bar scene here in NYC, there are just too many bars with too many different purposes. The Meatpacking District seems to be the place to go for clubbing but every now and then, you can use a chill bar or somewhat quiet place for a nice date.

This city just occupies you with so much!

Bro I think part of it is just the age disparity. Doc is at an older, mature age in which he gets far, far more value out of an LTR than floating around from loose woman to loose woman. I see both sides of the coin. I often feel torn between both worlds. Nonetheless, I will join you in shouting out all the fine ass chicas in NYC & Chicago & everywhere else in between and beyond.

It does make me question the whole men peaking at an older age saying unless Doc is over 40 or something. If you are peaking at an older age that means more options so why not smash more poon instead of LTRing?

LTRs are "cute" when you are young but I feel like as you get older, they become a pain in the ass drag and something you have to do because society says so.
