Bad at Studying in Uni. Want to Quit but have to Fight Parents.

Look bro, I’ve been there. Try stoicism, we talk sometimes hear on the forum about it. Clench your teeth and do it. Finance is a great major—from an American perspective. You should cultivate the contacts you gain from studying that. Honestly. My advise would be to finish college since you started. That simple. But I think grad school is over-rated.
Look, I don’t condone illegal behavior. You have several options. Get someone to write the essay for you. That’s easy shit and you should be able to do it yourself. Anyway, if that doesn’t work, as I said, get someone to write it for you who is a good writer. Or, get some speed or some modafinil and pump it out man—take some pills and you’ll be good. You just give yourself 8 hours—give or take— and it will be done. You could also buy some coke but given you’re in Stralia it will be expensive. The Assignment is not hard at all.
In college I would do something that I called soft-soft plagiarizing. Whereby I would find a paper that almost completely matched the topic at hand, and just copy the references from it, structure, organization, etc, as well as crediting the aforementioned paper, as well as throwing in a few random references that I bothered to look up on google scholar. I highly recommend it. If there is a requirement for original thought in the paper assignment, you soft-soft plagiarize the majority of it, and then spend some time to come up with the original thoughts. It’s that simple. Their software can’t detect this type of plagiarism. Anyway.
Uni is a massive scam but you need to understand how it works for people that are above average. It works as a place for people in high-wealth classes to congregate and build social proof, and establish future business contacts/ social connections. You should view it that way, rather than as a scam, especially if you are studying business. These contacts will last a lifetime if you properly cultivate them. I have way too many examples in the case of my life, or the life of other close friends. Do shit the proper way, and walk away richer in experience and rolodex. For the record I did a bullshit anthropology/ sociology degree in university, they shoved diversity politics down my throat, but holy shit did I get a lot of contacts in academia, business and politics. Those contacts have already paid off for me.
Keep your head down bro, and start scheming.
Your parents are likely dipshit boomers, or worse: gen x's. Don't listen to their advise unless they're rich or highly successful. You should not go to uni for a degree unless it's stem. Keeping that in mind, for anything else, uni is a fantastic place to cultivate your Rolodex. Also, requirements for many jobs have risen, so to even have a basic job, you need a degree... Even if it is BS.
Finish uni, it is a social status symbol and the best way to create a network when you’re young. That’s the bottom line Milo. That’s an order!

@Milo
Hopefully Beirut and Heuristics have talked you off the ledge. I would also support staying course at uni and finishing your degree.
You are already in debt for the two years you put in. If you walk away from uni, you will have nothing to show for this debt and you’ll still need to repay it. It doesn’t sound like you have another lucrative option that would start paying immediately.
Feeling lack of focus and struggling a little is normal at university. High school was a joke for me and I goofed off a lot during my senior year. This set me up for a rude awakening in uni where the workload was much more demanding. Putting in some work (smartly) is a decent life skill and you will inevitably face this when you are actually working or running a business - whatever you decide to do. No pain, no gain.
Finance is a great major. If you’re not in STEM, Finance, Accounting, Applied Math, etc. are all good business majors. Unlike general Management, Marketing, HR, which are kind of watered down, these types of business majors have a quantitative bent and often can lead to a better defined career and/or professional certification.
Regarding certification, Finance also provides a good foundation for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. This is an internationally recognized designation and it is no joke. However, getting a CFA is going to require a lot of preparation and a commitment of like 3 years. Anyone who has this designation inevitably faced similar malaise to what you’re going through now. Set a good precedent for yourself and tough out the degree.
What others have said about using uni for networking and building a circle is also completely valid. If you were majoring in humanities or something like that, I might give more consideration to discontinuing. But, you’ve got a solid major and you’re halfway there. Stick with it.

It's too much debt that you won't be able to service. Most graduates in finance end up unemployed with their parents for years until they get a shit job that pays mediocre money.
Your dad is a boomer and the mentality about university is vastly outdated, I wish I could talk to him. What he believes about higher education used to be true, now it's just a scam that inflicts debt and on young people and blocks their independence. I'm sure finishing the degree will be emotionally satisfying for your him but the reality is that you will have wasted another 30k, 2 years of opportunity cost where you could have worked or started a business and moved up.
Cutting your losses and moving on is a difficult thing to do. Willfully subjecting yourself to bad circumstances doesn't make a hero.

But remember, you're going to be in a mountain of debt. Then you might either be unemployed or stuck working at a low wage job while having to pay back that debt.

If you're not retarded like most college students you go to an affordable school that offers good return on investment. Otherwise, hope that your parents pay the loans.
Can always flee the country to avoid them.
Keep in mind here that OP is in Stralia, so college is vastly more affordable there than the US... From what I understand.

Australia is one of the most least friendly countries for red pill guys who hate leftists/SJWs and feminists. I think the OP should cut and run while having an ounce of sanity left.

Quitting college/University is NOT red pill. Basically you are reducing your chances of earning a higher income. There's too much of this "Quit college because it's SJW" nonsense going around. Doing this is absolutely stupid.
In rare cases if you're going to man up and work in a trade, fine. Otherwise, I don't recommend it.
Also, it's a Finance degree. You will learn about business through it. It WILL be useful. On top of this, Finance graduates make decent money if you have decent grades. I'm in the USA and the market for theze people is booming. I work in staffing these roles so I can vouch for it. I'm not sure where this data about people in this profession being unemployed are coming from.
If you quit this time, there's a great chance you will quit again using similar excuses which sound the same: "it is too hard." This is not a reason.
My advice: Man up and take some responsibility to your obligations like the paper. It will build your character. This, I can guarantee.

OP
You need motivation. Stay focused, get the work done, support and love your parents, they want what's best for you. Think about your future. College is only temporary.

College is short and fun as hell, you're basically fucking around the whole time and can hit on women in close proximity to you all the time. Plus there are massive amounts of casual sex and fun binge drinking. If you're a good socializer your mates end up leading the country, like david cameron, borris johnson, et al. How fun is that?

Update post everyone.
I'm back now and i've finished that previous essay i was talking about. Submitted it and i believe i'll pass it. I've actually started seriously trying to study by doing my best to go at it 4 hours a day. Its a habit that i'm going to have to work on for a long time. Eventually i'll try to reach 8 hours a day like most cubicle normies or even more, but i've got to start somewhere.
Its been at least a year or more since i've even tried to seriously study or work hard at anything for more than 2 hours a day.
Many of the points made on this page are valid. Uni was a bad idea but its far too late to back down from finishing now. I'm in the heart of the beast so i may as well come out alive, having slain it with my degree. Not to mention that despite the debt, there is at least the benefit of social prestige or image like Heuristics has pointed out that comes from having any form of Uni degree.
Its more important for me to finish uni now. I can decide what i'll do with the debts then. I have another test on Wednesday. I'll be busy with tests, assignments and exams till mid June.

Point duly noted. Unfortunately he's too cringe for me to listen to everyday ![[Image: sad.gif]](https://rooshvforum.network/images/smilies/sad.gif)
OP you got to view studying like exercising or eating. It's a task necessary for you to make it day to day without crashing and burning. Just treat it with discipline. If you do that, you'll be miles ahead at least half of your peers.
Simple, set a clock, study for 25 minutes straight. Take five minute break. Repeat. you'll be amazed at how productive you are when you focus on exclusively studying for such a short period of time.
You need a uni degree for so many entry level jobs these days. You are better off than most people because you're studying finance.
Keep up the good work OP!
