I didn’t get out much in Bangkok so maybe there were some better places that I don’t know. But in my eyes Manila has more non-pros in the clubs.

There are places in Manila where the bars are full of freelance pros (Malate for example). IMO, Bangkok has a better nightlife than Manila. When I went out in Bangkok, I found good places without pros and I picked up an SNL from a local Thai girl. Also, Bangkok has more tourists out (girl tourists from Singapore, Russia, etc). This is a good thing. The tourists going out in Manila seem to be mostly men in their 50s and 60s chasing pros. I had trouble shagging non-pros in Manila, but maybe it was just my luck. I didn't try the day game thing. I was in both places for a very short time. As I said, you'll have fun in either country.

Wherever you go Dash beware the ladyboys. Don't get too drunk or they might get you. An Aussie cat I met in BKK one night got shitfaced and took one home. "She" roofied him and stole $2500 AUD from his hotel. I theorize he got poked in the butt before "she" left. That scares the hell outta me. Crikey!

Bangkok has hundreds of places with no pro's in sight, it's just as tourists we tend to get told from other tourists and locals who think we like places filled with other tourists, about tourist bars and clubs. You can easily find yourself in places with no other farang in Bangkok and you can get laid but it'll not be as easy as going to the tourist places as they are always full of pro's or semi-pro's willing to put out for free.

That seems logical.

Can you break some of the places down?

I've been to Thailand (both beach and Bangkok), although it was under circumstances that precluded me from really enjoying any part of it. However, I am tempted to go to Boracay based on NaughtyNomad's review here: http://naughtynomad.com/2010/08/22/borac...and-guide/

I do kind of worry about the shitty food in the Phils. Everyone says it's terrible.

Bangkok has better food but Manila has decent food. The food is better in Manila than many countries on this planet.

Boracay seems very appealing to me, minus all the drunk belligerent Aussies running around.

Dash, as mentioned before, if you want total debauchery with very easy girls, stunning beaches and not much else in a dirt cheap place, then look no further than the Philippines. If you want sexy to stunning girls, first world amenities/city at third world prices, delicious food, tons of fun stuff to do during the day then BKK is unbeatable. Plus, BKK is an amazing hub for the SEA region where you can hop on a cheap flight and be in world class locations within a 1-4 hour flight for between 50 to 200$.

VP, its "very easy girls" or "stunning beaches" in Philippines correct?

G,
Affirmative on both ends sir. You gotta pull the trigger, hop on that plane and (s)explore that region soon. Once you do, there's a very high chance that you'll be kicking yourself for not having gone there earlier. I am speaking from first hand experience on that. So just do it or rather go there. You won't regret it.

VP-

Yeah, the place is really on my radar heavy.

Two things that keep pushing it back:

1. No definitive place for Beaches and Nightlife. I really am a "beach city kid" at heart. I beaches with no real action (although I love them) have no real future for me, neither do landlocked cities (although I love them too).

Pattaya doesn't appeal to me on paper (which is a shame, because it seems like a good "set up" ie beach and city)

Phuket, I can't really green light because of that damn Dipricio movie "The Beach".

Maybe Koh Samui or Boracay might be the answers?

2. The time difference. I need to be on the horn with the USA when I travel. Need to keep money moving on the streets.

That all being said, I have a "tentative" target date for early next year. Any suggestion on best month? (Jan, Feb or March or April?)

Best beach town with a good party scene I'd say Phuket in Thailand or Boracay in the Phils. In both, you'd have a large selection of both local and imported/tourists lizards. Or you could go to BKK for a week, have a blast and find 1 or 2 fly girls and fly with them to Krabi and you'll be in paradise. You can the same in the Phils, spend a few days in Manila or Cebu, scope the scene, get 1-2 fly ones and take them to some dope island. Agreed that time difference is an issue (11 hours in LOS and 12 in UPI). But you could moonlight it, sleep a couple of hours to do your thing during US business hours and party at night. Best of both worlds. Did that myself while I was in BKK. Not easy to pull (specially on the body) but do-able.

Any recommendations on places to stay in Boracay? There appear to be tons of hotels. Isn't there a mall there you can day game at?

When I went on a three country trip through out SE asia, the Perhentian islands in Malaysia was the highlight of my trip. Beautiful beautiful place, water was like walking into an aquarium, with sharks and clean water. I went to Gili islands close to Bali, but the Perhentians were much better. They're pretty much a pair of tourist islands, so you won't be encountering many locals there. The Sipadan islands off Borneo on the Malaysian side I've heard are very good too, same with the Andaman coast in South Thailand. That entire region is mostly muslim although, so I would only go there for some Diving time.

When your going for ocean spots, a place is either good for surfing or good for diving/snorkeling. If it has the waves for surfing then it churns up the sand too much and you can't see shit. Bali in Indonesia is better for surfing than Swimming. Beautiful place, land of the statue makers.

I went to a club once in BKK with a local. Nobody danced and they all just hung around mini tables on the dance floor pounding down shots. It was weird.

G, Jan-Feb is the peak season. If you don't go these months you might as well wait til summer when prices plummet and you won't have to rub shoulders with other farangs.

Gili islands near Bali were one of the most overrated places I've ever been in my life. Then again, Bali is one of the most overrated places I've been in my life. Great for surfing and that's about it.

Agree on Bali. I was going to stay there for a week or two and cut the trip short to 4 days. The place is just overrun with tourists and everything that comes with it. Nothing real about it.

Is that sentiment true for the entire Island?

I never think to take note of venue names but the tourists are located mostly in clubs on Koh San Road and Sukhumvit (though there are some good clubs in Sukhumvit and even a few bars around KSR where Thais go) as are most of the pro's, you'll see some tourists at Royal City Avenue (RCA) which is a big street with just bars and clubs but mostly locals and very few pro's. There are other areas all over thie city with clubs and bars I've been taken to that I was the only farang (hanging out with locals met through Couchsurfing mostly) but I would never be able to find these places again.

People have talked about Phuket and Pattaya but I wouldn't recommend either. Pattaya is just full on sex tourist hell, it might be interesting for a night or two to people watch and see how crazy it is but there's no decent bars or clubs or places to meet non pro's. Phuket beach area is seedy and much the same and the town it's self can seem pretty dead a lot of the time.

Well, it is not really about ladyboys, it is more about "don't get shitfaced". Which is true. I've witnessed personally a really drunk dude walking down the street when the money literally felt out of his pocket. He may have complained the next day that he was robbed too.

How is the amount of girls speaking English in those places?
This seems to be the same as day game in Thai malls, they may eye-fuck you, but she knows so little English that the effort you have to put worth much more than $15 you'd save in the best case.

We discussed it here, and so far it looks like the "terrible" was explained as "it is all pork, and I don't eat pork". Which, to me, has nothing to do with "terrible". Just a preference, like I eat pork, but not seafood.

Menace,
Can't recommend any specific places to stay in Boracay as I haven't been there yet. However, I have heard/read countless raving reports on it. Do a search in here or online in general to have a good idea of ideal places to stay there depending on your budget of course.

Someone suggested to hit the Thai islands in the summer (July/August). Well let me tell you that yes price wise it may be cheaper but and this is a big but is that the prices are cheap for a very good reason and that is crappy, rainy days, cloudy skies where you can't really enjoy the spectacular scenery around you. I'd say save some more cash and come around October-November where the weather is a lot better than the summer and the hordes of tourists haven't arrived yet. The peak of the touristy season is Dec-Feb.

The bad thing about pinay food is not just that's pork but the majority of it is very oily, fried and not very healthy nor tasty to be honest. More power to those who can stomach that kind of food.

Surprisingly good amount speak English as most of them are students or educated proffessionals (at the places I went at least). I didn't have a problem with girls in Thailand not speaking English from the bar girls to the middle class girls. Can't say I had any interactions with upper class girls but I'd think they speak English too due to education.

Though decision, I spent a lot of time in both countries in many trips - I would go to the Philippines cause of one main reason:
You can easily pickup local normal girls, I used the shopping malls in Makati, and also in bars/clubs which are most popular by locals. Once you have a local girl she will do anything you like, massage, bring a friend for 3some etc.
In Thailand it is rare to pickup a none-working girl.
The islands and beaches are similar, less commercialized in Phil.

It may be rare in Thailand but certainly not that difficult if you avoid the sex tourist areas and don't act like a sex tourist. Getting some Thai friends helps too.
