Fitness Industry Truths

I've also found this thread very useful as I'd not really considered that a lot of these fitness guys may be jacking unless they going into Lee Haney territory.

From what I've seen there seems to be a considerable genetic factor (which you may be able to counteract by some means such as a diet tailored to your metabolism) in how good a shape you can get in.

What do you think is the real limit that you can get to without juice when it comes to getting ripped?

Recently I saw an article on this guy:

This seems like it could be achieved naturally and here's another photo of the same guy where he looks juiced:

from an article dubbing him as having one of the most chiseled bodies in the NFL, which he partly puts down to genes.

I have been in decent shape for most of my life, not enough to turn heads, but enough to be noticable from the gen. pop. I'd like to look at upping that this year, but I'm wondering what is realistic. I live in a small town in a rural area and when I went to the gym once to see if there were any good personal trainers I found I was in better shape than all of them except one who didn't have much muscle. The kettle-bells guy was a blob, some of the swimming instructors were blobs and most of the people in the gym were blobs. There was a few guys with low body fat and a bit of definition, but nothing notable. Then there was one guy who was obviously off his head on 'roids. There is one guy I know whose always out in public doing workouts and cross-fitting like he was the Agha Khan - the guy has a considerable overhang. It seems this it the reality for most people.

Of course genetics are a huge huge factor.

I remember in highschool there was a guy who played football and ran track who was just jacked as fuck. I mean like full muscle bellies, veins in his abs, ect. He ate the same shit we ate for lunch, did the same drills, did the same workouts, ect. He was just genetically superior.

But most people are going to need to use gear to look excellent. Go look at the guys on this forum who have been lifting hard naturally, and look at the same guy such as myself who uses drugs as a tool. There is a pretty big difference in what you will see. Theres nothing wrong with using gear if youre ok with how it will effect you.

Drugs are not a magic bullet. They are a key that open a door that still requires a lot of dedication and grind to walk through.

I will say though that those 2 pics of Gareth Bale are a bit silly to use here. One is of him as a teenager, the other is of him now. That alone can explain the difference and professional footballers do spend a lot of the time in the gym.

Yeah, there's almost a decade in between the pics.

Yeah, you might have a point. He moved to Tottenham in 2007 and that Madrid pic was taken in 2014 as far as I can tell.

The interesting thing about that article is Bale's response when asked about his newly muscular physique;

'I actually haven’t done anything!’

I did a bit of my own training during the summer, a bit of running, conditioning but nothing special.’

As the article states, the lighting can sometimes play tricks etc. But I'm always suspicious when people with dramatic improvements in physique take pains to play down their new look. In my experience, they all tend to say, when asked 'I haven't done anything! A bit of running, nothing special'. Hmmm

Uhhh yea most of everyone in the fitness world uses gear, including myself. Gear is not some magic pill though. Gurentee most people who take gear just to get jacked will look like shit. Gear allows you to reach your goals much faster than natty. Need a solid diet and training program or you will waste money on gear.
But yea, EVERYONE lies about taking gear when money and/or ego is involved.

Please don't like my posts or rep me. I do not wish to be judged by how many rep points and/or likes I have.

That is suspicious if he is saying he did zero strength training (not even bodyweight programs).

If only you knew how bad things really are.

Another point to consider is his age...
In the first photo he was 18, the second 25.

In addition to the obvious physical maturation that takes place during that period of time he was playing high level international/club football.

These results don't seem out of the ordinary to me at all.

I don't just want what I want. I want it, in the way that I want it.
