All technology starts off expensive, then becomes more affordable. But you need rich people to buy in first. Take air travel for example. It was once vey glamorous, and only for the rich. Had they not been willing to pay to fly on planes in the first place, the industry would never have taken off. (pun intended) The same is true for basically all things we take for granted today.
The poor are dying
today while the richer part of the world are healthier/living longer. Although we now chose to be unhealthy via our dietary choices, which is really shameful when you think of it. We could almost all be super healthy in the West, and it`s not even expensive to eat healthy. In fact if you factor in the eventual medical costs (diabetes care, heart transplants etc.) it`s very cheap in comparison. But people need their crap to get the dopamine high and so on. If you have good infrastructure, sanitation, clean water and healthy foods available, being healthy is only a question of not getting stuck in the addictive pattern of sugar, grain, alcohol, caffeine, drugs etc. consumption. Also I have to mention that the poor are poor mostly due to race differences. I do think we should help them out though, but the fertility rates must come down in for example Africa. There are just to many people on the planet as is, and it`s totally unsustainable to continue this development. Sorry for the rant.
PS; There`s a huge difference between living forever, and staying young for a good while, say a couple hundred years or so. What...are you gonna live for billions of years? tens of billions? That idea sounds a bit crazy to me.
