What are your guys thoughts on XLM? It is the third "most popular" crypto on this Canadian site I used. I haven't send any XLM threads on here.

IMO after the crypto market settles, we will see the major players step up and establish some legitimacy.

Still need to do some more research but from what I've read LTC($118.89 as of FEB 6) looks like the coin to grab. If they can do what i mentioned above with Litepay and Litepal. Also XMR($168.73 as of FEB 6) is already the go-to coin for dark web after bitcoin blew up.

Those are my two picks. If your feeling risky grab some penny coins and sell when they hit $1 or $2.

Litecoin is pretty useless and other coins do what it does better like nano and stellar lumen, it's mc is only so high because its on coinbase so noobs buy it thinking it'll go to 10k like bitcoin lol.

They might do it better but BTC is still the only coin you can actually buy stuff with. Like I said in the sentence before, ALTcoins need to establish some legitimacy to compete with BTC. Why were DASH and ETH peaking at 1k when other coins do what they do better? MarketCap is current price x total coins, you can just inflate the MC to make it look good lol.

The main thing holding crypto back is people breaking away and starting their new "alt coin startup". What they really need to do is get a few high value coins to come together and blow BTC out of the water with access and features. Simple as that.

I think XLM has a lot of big potential being partnered with IBM. Should be a good one to watch this year. They will keep coming with big news.

I've had 30-40% of my holdings in XLM the last couple of months. Definitely one of the projects that sounds to me like it has a strong future. Aside from real world use cases and the oft quoted IBM partnership, there's also the supposedly XLM backed exhange fairx.io launching some time in the coming months.

Bonus that it has Ledger support.

It's nice to have new people coming into Crypto. It always makes me feel really good.
XMR and LTC are both decent choices. I'm not as sold on LitePay as some are, but it's hard to say. It's good, but LTC has two big things that going against it this year.
1.) LTC is the coin of choice for moving money on and off gdax quickly, because BTC takes too damn long and LTC is a bit faster than ETH. But converting from LTC to BTC to actually make your purchases costs you usually a .15% fee, and a bunch of time. Coinbase implementing segwit will make BTC much faster, so LTC will lose a lot of its use case.
2.) LTC's value comes in large part of being one of the only things on Coinbase to buy. You've got BTC, ETH, BCH (Which is fucking useless as well as a relatively new addition) and then LTC. But if GDAX starts adding more coins, LTC loses a bunch of its specialness, and I think that might have a negative affect on price.

It's hard to say though, and it's certainly not a shitcoin.

Nice to be here, SammyB. Ive been following crypto for around 2-3 years off and on. Very interesting to me as it is a currency, has long-term investment potential, and will become instantaneous the faster the internet becomes.

Im by no means a LTC fanboy. The reason I mentioned those two coins is them being relative to other top coins, but coming in at a lower price. With ETH and DASH hitting 1k before the drop I dont see why LTC cant double or triple in price over next year or so.

No offence but I wouldn't invest in any cryptocurrency until you get more educated about how it works.

This literally makes no sense at all. Coins need to come together to blow bitcoin out of the water? Like combine coins into one coin lmao that's not how coding works. Bitcoin is shit and will go to 4k it's a classic bubble. It has first mover advantage that's it.

"You can just inflate the market cap to make it look good" WTF r u talking about, market cap is what the last person is willing to pay multiplied by the supply, coin price means nothing. Not sure what else to say but nothing you said makes sense.

I'm familiar with crypto and how it works, been following since BTC broke 1k. Didn't mean to come off like that, just throwing my suggestions for why I think those coins are worth looking into.

So what did Google do when it bought Youtube? Did they copy and paste every code line and just plug it into their network. lmfao.

If you read up on any "altcoin" the main advertisement is a feature that some other coin doesn't have. All I was saying by that was that couple coins come togther, put there capital and coding knowledge to work and form a new superior coin.

Your statements reveal your lack of knowledge about cryptocurrency so I wouldn't suggest anybody follow your advice or they'll eventually lose money. It doesn't matter how long you've been "following it", you demonstrate you don't know how the technology nor the market itself works.

+1 on bigolteddies comments. Good luck even affecting the market cap of any top 100 coin let alone manipulating it. And there are hundreds of coins better than Bitcoin technologically already, in that they are not only currency but can be used in some other dApp or network or has some useful proprieties like smart contracts or fast transactions. The only reason Bitcoin survives is because of first mover advantage, not because of lack of competition.

Thats fine, everyone use's crypto differently so to each his own. I meant to write can't in that one post but too late to edit now.

Can you tell me how my comment on cryptocurrency becoming faster is wrong? You say right there smart contracts and fast transactions, which is what I was refering to.

Here are two links backing up what I originally posted:
Atomic swaps
Litecoin/Monero merger

Honestly, there have been so many meme coins targeting the 4chan userbase for growth, they'd have been better off calling it schmekel and going for the Rick and Morty fans instead.

I forgot who recommended cryptosomniac in these threads but after being in the game for nearly 3 months, I've noticed they've made the worst calls possible. They recommended people to invest in drgn @ $7+ and kucoin shares at $20. Sure, it's a good long term prospect but I find it ironic that both of these coins dumped hard shortly after their recommendations.

Then, when neo was rising to glory, they said not to chase the pump. Neo isn't just pumping for no reason. Those idiots failed to realize that better projects are currently built on neo's platform and they are all getting released in the coming months. Icon and eos are probably next up.

Still bitter about buying drgn at $4.60 because it seemed like a decent deal compared to $8+ at its all time high.

Now that I almost lost my stash in the Bitgrail fiasco, I have something more to prove in the game. I'm gonna see if I can get to fuck you money without the money that was in there. I make good money and will probably throw monthly cash at some ICOs.

Not trying to be a dick or anything but as other posters have said you kinda come off as an authority on the subject when it's clear you don't really understand it. That's not how coins work btc can't just merge with ethereum. If coins could merge then nano would merge with monero and become the king of currency having instant transactions, no fees and complete privacy... Don't really feel like arguing more about this because it's so stupid but for lurkers who are reading this take this guy's advice with a grain of salt. I'm not the smartest guy and i'm pretty dumb in crypto when it comes to people who really know what the fuck they're doing, but it's pretty clear you have absolutely no idea.

They probably don't know anything more than you or I. There's thousands of coins and they just constantly have to pick stuff to keep their business running. I would take their advice and most public figures with a grain of salt.

Honestly, not everyone can be top 10% smartest. But it's always good to get everyone elses opinion and see how they think, ya know? In crypto, the best coins and the smartest picks dont always win out. Look at Tron and Ripple.

ETC has been pumping, ostensibly due to an airdrop for ETC holders oc a new ceypto named callisto. As ive mined a few ETC i checked out what callisto is:

Quote:Quote:

Callisto is a non-profit organization that develops technology to combat sexual assault and harassment. Our online systems are designed to detect repeat perpetrators and to empower victims to make the reporting (or not reporting) decision right for them.

Sexual assault on the blockchain. I will take their airdrop but for fucks sake, has there ever been a weaker sounding project?
