Some stupid wasted drunk guy was breaking into my friends truck with a rock and just busted it all over the place. My friends father heard him repeatedly smashing my friends truck and it startled him enough to stumble away drunk. This crazy dumbass being drunk as hell managed to leave his cellphone behind but its locked and we can get past the pattern password. Im wondering if any of you guys know how we can find out who this guy is so we can either sue him or break his legs.

They've got people that can take the phone and get the info needed. Probably the worst thing you could do is try to break into the guys cell and go vigilante.

Just wait till one of his friends or relatives calls his phone and get his contact info to "give the phone back to him".

The phone is locked but it will still accept calls that you can answer. You just can't get into his phone to make calls or look up his stuff.

cops. Then insurance. Then civil suit. Most likely if he's never been in trouble he'll have to pay a bunch of fines, court fees, and go on probation. You'll be able to file a civil suit. If he's been in trouble before he'll probably go to jail.

I'm not legal expert, so take my advice w/a grain of salt.

Good advice. I told my friend to take the phone to the police. I agree with Slayer a civil suit cost nothing and will probably screw up the guys life. Much better revenge than breaking his legs lol
