Interesting drama in Ottawa.

Erik Karlsson's wife has filed a restraining order against Mike Hoffman's girlfriend, claiming that she has been harassing them online for quite some time, including some psychotic trolling through a twitter troll account after their son was stillborn.

Hoffman and his fiancee deny everything.

So option A is that Hoffman's fiancee is a psycho with crossed wires in her brain, option B is that Karlsson's wife is a nutcase harassing herself, and I suppose option C is that it's a case of mistaken identity and someone completely unknown so far is the real perp.

Seems the twitter mob is going with option A, but I have a feeling it may end up being option B when all the facts come out.

Crawford probably didn't win due to the other Final goalie, Tukka Rask out-playing him over the whole Playoffs.

But I agree, he deserved it over Kane 100%.

These hockey wives need to better themselves. Surely there must be more they can do than get pregnant, bitch/complain, and generally make a nuisance of themselves?

Can't win you know. For example, Imagine Dragon's wife, Aja, while pregnant, puts out a singing video wherein she criticizes the fact that Dan "has a job" and doesn't pay attention to her anymore.

No shit, eh?

There are other hockey wives coming against Hoffman's fiancee

You mean none are supporting her?

This doesn't surprise me either. These are just puck bunnies that jumped on the right dicks. The only value they have is their looks and whatever their husbands accomplish.

Most likely never progressed from being the popular girl in high school.

I like Karlsson the player, but he's already on marriage #2. He obviously doesn't learn or have real good judgement when it comes to women. For example, I believe his first wife was older than him, and took him to the cleaners at divorce time. The current wife is from a family that has even more money than he does, which means she's most likely never had to work a day in her life or deal with anything more difficult than not winning a horse jumping competition.

Hoffman was a guy that paid his dues to make the NHL, he made it relatively late, and his fiancee has been with him for 10 years. He's finally on his first "real money" contract. She doesn't really fit the profile of a gold digging dick rider.

These guys make barely more than average world salaries while playing in the minor leagues.

So I don't put much stock in the fact that "in crowd" of wives are clicking up and ostracizing her. It's their natural behavior.

Of course if she did it, then she's a psycho and Hoffman should get as far away from her as he can, and definitely before marrying her. For the record they've both denied it and have lawyered up.

It just seems too bizarre to me. Like Munchhausen level bizarre.

Fuck this gay Earth, Tom Wilson was suspended 20 games for a legal hit on one of those faggot euros. Keep your head up and don't put yourself in that position especially with Tom Wilson on the ice, nice shot BTW.

NHL sucks now because of concussion hysteria, instigator rule for fights and too many euros.

Yeah I can't see what exactly is wrong with the hit, but it seems every hit Tom does is deemed a "blow to the head" no matter what. Too many guys keeping their head down lately. I loved him last season, he fit perfectly on our first line. But damn, I'm worried what will come after 20 games. They hate this guy real bad. Meanwhile Thornton ass blasts Oshie into concussion town and gets nothing. I remember at least two serious elbows to the head in the playoffs this year against our guys and nothing was called. Fucking marchand is running around kissing and licking dudes and giving Johansson a blatant concussion but got...what was it? A fine?

Proud of the guys for doing so well tonight but I'm worried about Wilson. Dude might have to just completely give up checking for good.

I think Wilson is probably the best hitter since Raffi Torres. Raffi Torres' hits were mostly legal and along with injuries got kind of forced out of the league because of it.

Lars Eller got what was coming to him tonight, he deserved it. Danish cuck shouldn't have done something like that if he couldn't back it up.

Guys like Lucic and Gudbranson can destroy people but they can't skate like Subban,Virtanen and Wilson who all have pretty good size.

It seems like whether a hit is legal or not a player always seems to get suspended if someone is hurt, which shouldn't be taken into consideration at all.

Well I was talking about what Marchand was up to last season, dude needed to be taught a lesson when he was spreading his saliva around or when he skated up to Johansson from behind and elbowed him in the head. By suspension or someone caving his head in, whatever, but he was totally out of line last year.

Eller needs to hit the gym or something, incredibly embarrassing to be owned by that ratboy manchild like that. And you're right about the injury thing, that's a huge part of it and I don't know why. Just cause Wilson is big and hits hard doesn't make him dirty. But now Connolly is possibly going to be on 1st line for 20 fucking games. I like the dude cause he's resilient and really finds ways to score goals, but he's third line at best.

The Sharks on opening day were absolutely horrible. Just throwing the puck around while the Ducks were able to shut them down. SJ's goalie, Jones, didn't help letting in 4 goals in 14 shots. Symptom of a bigger problem or just not coming into the season prepared? Everyone had the Sharks being 1st in the Pacific but after last night I don't think it is a guarantee unless they fix their shit.

As good as Karlsson is, he's going to want a 7-8 year deal north of 10 million a year. You can't hand out these huge contracts to players his age, he will be 29 when he re-signs or signs with another team.

Winnipeg is going to regret the Wheeler contract in a few years but they didn't have much choice.

Dude WTF are you Blabing about! Too Many Euros? "Ya Boi" Wilson got paid because he's on the line of "The Rockstar of Hockey's"... the Euro Ovi! And let's not forget the reason why Canada has Decimated everyone in international play since 2010.

After the Olympic in 1998 when Canada finished 4th, and the fallowing world Junior when they got their butt kicked, and finished 8th, the Hockey summit took place in 1999. During the summit, The Hockey people Specifically mandated for minor Hockey to put emphasis on skills, and play a more "European" Game.

Without this summit... there wouldn't bee the Crosby's, Getzlaf, Stamkos, Giroux etc! You've got it Backwards. In the early 2000... Hockey Stunk! It was trap infested Hockey since only the elite players had the skills to skate! And the way the 2014 Canadian Olympic team played was essentially Old school Russian Puck Possession Hockey taken to another level... a ridiculously high level!

And if you think that Hit was Ok... go chat about it with Mark Savard & David Booth!

We're barely two weeks into the season and already the NHL can't stop itself from expressing it's utterly massive self loathing of being full of straight, white, men. After all, Hockey Is For Everyone you BIGOTS. As if anyone ever said it wasn't.

We got that Kenyan hockey team visiting Canada to teach all those fucking white men about...uh, something. I just don't understand why that Arab women's hockey team last year only got to meet the Capitals? Is Canada sexist?

And when the fuck are they going to release the 2018 version of their Faggot Pride shirts with the rainbow overlaid over the team's crests? Um, NHL? I need to let people know I like hockey and my team really, really supports the LGBTZFBBQ ok?

And we've got this lovely article on nhl.com's front page.

Diversity's positive impact on sports focus of policy briefing

Quote:Quote:

WASHINGTON -- The Stanley Cup was the star attraction, but the message was equally powerful at a policy briefing on shifting demographics and hockey's future at the Cannon House Office Building on Wednesday.

Co-authored by Kim Davis, NHL executive vice president of social impact, growth and legislative affairs, and William H. Frey, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution in Washington and a nationally renowned demographer, the policy brief focused on the diversity explosion the United States is experiencing and how it will impact all aspects of society, including sports.

By 2020, the U.S. Census is expected to show that 20 percent of the country's population will identify with a racial group other than white. For hockey, the changing demographics represent an opportunity to accelerate interest, youth participation and diversity in the sport.

"As a sport of hockey, we have to begin to think much differently about what our future fanbase looks like and how we're going to grow our sport over the coming years," Davis said. "As the policy brief points out, while the speed and the beauty of the sport has really defined our sport for the first 100 years, we believe diversity is going to be an additional defining point of our sport for the next 100 years."

The event was hosted by Eleanor Holmes Norton, congresswoman for the District of Columbia since 1991. Norton, a member of the Congressional Hockey Caucus, which helps promote the growth of the sport throughout the country, had the Stanley Cup in her office before it was brought to the Cannon House and noted the long line of those waiting to see it.

She expressed hope that the Washington Capitals' Cup victory last season will generate more interest among the city's minority youths in playing hockey.

"The Washington Capitals electrified the District when they hoisted their first-ever Stanley Cup and demonstrated the potential for the growth of hockey here and across the country," Norton said. "This is the time for those of us in the Congressional Hockey Caucus to work with the NHL to support local programs, such as D.C.'s Fort Dupont Ice Hockey Club, to promote diversity and ensure the sport reaches young people of all backgrounds."

Neal Henderson, who in 1987 founded the Fort Dupont Hockey Club, now the oldest minority ice hockey program in North America, understands well the importance of getting minorities involved in the sport, so he appreciated hearing Davis' and Frey's presentation.

"What we need is more adults to be involved," Henderson said. "A child is a sponge. The adult is an aisle leading this child into the avenue of entertainment, and if a lot of adults don't lead these children, they go astray."

That's one of the reasons Davis and Frey stressed the importance of millennials (ages 18 to 34). Forty four percent of American millennials, which represent one quarter of the total U.S. population of 75 million, are minorities, making them the most diverse generation in the country's history.

Getting them involved as fans and parents of potential youth players will help grow the sport and end the misconception that hockey isn't a sport for everyone.

In their brief, Davis and Frey pointed to Toronto Maple Leafs center Auston Matthews, a Mexican-American who grew up in Arizona and was the No. 1 in the 2016 NHL Draft, and Nashville Predators defenseman P.K. Subban, a Toronto native of Jamaican descent who won the Norris Trophy in 2013 as the League's best defenseman, as examples of NHL players from diverse backgrounds making an impact.

"Those sports -- and the NHL may be on the front lines of this -- that are able to capture that change and reach out to that change in America will do more to make people understand the value of hockey, helping young people become more active not only if they're going to be fans of professional hockey, but playing hockey in their own playground," Frey said.

Nylander needs to be traded for a young D, I don't know how they can expect to have 4 forwards making an average of around 10 million next year.

Matthews is going to want 12+, I don't see him taking a discount like Tavares because he didn't grow up dreaming of playing hockey in Toronto. Tavares was offered 13 from San Jose and lower taxes.

Damn right you do, kid is fire. If anything we should be commending his dad; over twenty years ago he saw which way the wind was blowing and imported (and naturally, his mother is still attractive - I don't see her transitioning into a short haired asexual blob like the average western woman does any time soon). If this forum existed in 1990, he could very well have been a member.

What I've really been jammed up about is I can't open up a team blog without seeing something about women's hockey.

Just last week, so around the time the season started I opened The Hockey News...one week into the season, already multiple storylines.

And what do I see? Like seven articles about women's hockey.

Saying 'here's a thot, why not develop your own platform for women's hockey?' makes you a patriarchal sexist. 'Why should we do all that extra work, when you've already built the code, site infrastructure and generated a following? DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW BAD WOMEN HAVE IT IN NORTH AMERICA YOU PIG?!'
