The reason this is important is because the FCC is one of the biggest reasons we have so much censorship on the internet and TV.

Mike Cernovich was speaking about this fact in a Periscope the other day. Essentially, the right cannot build their own platforms like Gab.ai because the FCC will just regulate that they must cater to hate speech laws or whatever in some way. As long as the FCC is compromised we will lose our freedoms over the internet and control over our government.

Thus if you want to help, do your best to make as many aware as possible of this FCC deal, especially Kentuckians who vote for him. MitchMcConnell needs to be primaried out ASAP, but if you tweet @transisiton2017 you can also perhaps add to the noise and get noticed.

1. The most important thing is that Net Neutrality is preserved. One good thing the Obama FCC did is to pass a rule that preserved Net Neutrality. That means that Internet Service Providers (Telcoms like Comcast, AT&T/DirectTV, Dish, Verizon, etc.) must allow all sites to access their bandwidth equally. They are treated like telephone service providers which must give equal access to their lines to all users.

The Telcoms want to impose a structure in which content providers, whether they be Netflix, Facebook, RVF, or gotnews.com have to pay for favored access to bandwidth.

What happens if that is imposed? Netflix and Facebook pay. Those sites load and stream ultra-fast and suck up all the bandwidth, other sites which do not pay load more slowly, potentially like a 56k dialup. The Telcoms could have content partnerships and promote their content subsidiaries. Comcast has already bought NBC Universal. AT&T/DirectTV want to buy Time Warner/CNN. AT&T could direct their subscribers to a CNN portal, favor Time Warner content with more bandwidth. It would be like AOL was in the old days, but worse. It would be more like China, where favored Chinese websites load quickly, even the allowed foreign websites load slow as hell.

If the Telcoms get their way, it is the end of the free internet.

There is a false "deregulate the internet" theme which has been pushed for years by the big telcoms in order to allow them to do this.

This is a major test for Trump - is he for internet freedom or for crony capitalism? He said he was against the AT&T /Time Warner deal, so there is hope.

2. There are no "hate speech laws" regulating the internet or anything else in the USA, unless you mean "hate speech" with direct threats to violence assaults, or discrimination in employment or public accommodations. FCC action has nothing to do with the success or failure of gab.ai or other platforms - unless the FCC makes Net Neutrality go away and the Telcoms can throttle their bandwidth. The existence of 4chan is evidence of internet freedom in the USA. Facebook and RVF are privately-owned fora which can regulate content as they wish. Otherwise, First Amendment applies. The same is not true in Europe.

Eddie has race trolled on a few occasions, but this time he is not trolling and is correct. Nothing wrong with this post. Of all the Eddie posts you could have pointed out, this one is beyond tame.

Trump is getting played by a few Republicans and he needs to make adjustments very quickly before this drama escalates and gets in the way of appointments, healthcare, or other large initiatives.

Trump himself admits that he has a hard time forgiving people who betray him. Well, this time he is in the thick of politics. Before it was all rhetoric. This time, he needs to be able to identify an enemy and stop them before they can do damage, because cleanup takes alot more time and political capital to implement, but a rat face fucker like Mitch can do alot of harm in mere seconds.

I said the same thing about Speaker Ryan a while back.

No doubt his advisors are trying to get him to reverse his image and reach out and make alliances. Problem with that is, known trash may need to stay in the trash heap. How bad will it look in 2 years if Trump is trying to stump and campaign with new Republicans trying to out-primary big time incumbents like Mitch, but was trying to be his buddy all that time before?! If you need Mitch out, start now I say.

The only benefit I can see of him doing it this way, is that it gives him a rap-sheet to use to help get him pushed out next election. If that is the case, he better have a staffer collect all the grievances and be ready to hit the trail hard in a couple years or so.

I think he has no choice but to do this. The old corrupt Republicans like Mitch are part of the swamp he is going to need to drain. If he really wants to drain the swamp, he needs to draw the line early and clearly, so that he can get the pressure he needs to push them out.

Mitch is not as popular as he is powerful. If I were Trump I would put pressure on other Republicans to move away from Mitch's control. Plenty of them don't like him either. They just like his connections.

Basically, once Trump is in office, he is going to make McConnell's wife a living hell. Trump will blame her husband for how he feels in office and make her job a stressful nightmare. She then goes home to bitch out McConnell every night until he makes Trump happy, so she can be happy.

However, since Trump is not in office, McConnell is still doing his cuck routine with zero fear of repercussions. He is aiming to get this FCC appointment done before Trump is sworn in for a reason.

I think the only thing Trump can do right now is threaten not to nominate Chao if McConnell puts up the liberal Dem into the FCC. But there may be other options I am unaware of. More importantly we just need to spread the word so the Trump team can connect the dots.

That sounds plausible, but she could even make Trump's job stressful as well. You can't really fire independent agency guys either if they get on your nerves as president.

Sometimes the keeping your enemies close routine backfires no matter how technically sound the implementation of the strategy. In accordance with the rules(laws), this could backfire.

I wish I could be optimistic about Mitch just barking before Trump enters office like you are. Dude is a snake. Always has been. He is easily top 5 corrupt in the Republican party. He thrives because he knows everyone, needs nobody, and is deeply allied and rooted in corporate and defense companies.

Probably isn't much anyone can do about him. Probably have to try your best and play it by ear as time goes on.
