Then why did he write " A country that never obeyed Muslims throughout the history"?
Country? Italy is not even 160 years old!

True. However, balkanization and unification are opposites.

indeed, but it's also true Romans conquered Serbia in the 2nd century BC...!
they may have been super fierce warriors, and whatever but they have been land of conquest from many of their neighbours and not so close countries since the dawn of history....
another snippet from Wikipedia is also interesting
Seventeen Roman Emperors were born in present-day Serbia. Belgrade is believed to have been torn by 140 wars since Roman times.

No, they conquered
Illyria. The Slavic Serbs were elsewhere at that time.

The Romans conquered parts of Serbia in the 2nd century BC, in 167 BC when conquering the West, establishing the province of Illyricum and the rest of Central Serbia in 75 BC, establishing the province of Moesia. Srem was conquered by 9 BC and Bačka and Banat in 106 AD after the Trajan's Dacian Wars.

It wasn't Serbia yet. In 560 AD:

Like every other country in Europe other than agriculturally poor Scandinavia.

wellllllll the Romans outlasted all other other empires and were conquerers and not land of conquest.....
"The Roman Empire is considered to have been the most enduring in history. The formal start date of the empire remains the subject of debate, but most historians agree that the clock began ticking in 27 BC, when the Roman politician Octavian overthrew the Roman Republic to become Emperor Augustus. Although Rome later fell to the Germanic “Barbarians” in AD 476, the ensuing “Eastern Empire” based at Constantinople is widely regarded as a continuation of the original Roman one. It wasn’t until the fall of the city in AD 1453 that the curtain finally came down on the empire, ending a period of dominance across Europe and beyond that had lasted for almost 1,500 years."

Yes, but the Roman Empire ended some
15 centuries ago. Since then, the Italian Peninsula was dominated by Lombards, Ostrogoths, Byzantines, Aragonese, etc.
The
Eastern "Roman" Empire was so hardcore Roman that it spoke a form of Greek for its last
9 centuries of history.
Even before the Roman Empire, the Italian Peninsula had been land of conquest. Ever heard of Magna Graecia?
Neapolis (AKA: Napule, Napoli) is not a Latin name, is it?
And Sicily was conquered by the Arabs, (Greek-speaking) Byzantines and (Frankish-speaking) Normans.

look, however you want to try and spin it, italy in its history has been less of a land of conquest than Serbia and the Balkans, fact.
Greece was of course the very first mediterranean civilization but did not outlast Rome.

One empire across 3 continents, comparing the Ottomans to Italians/Portuguese is an insult to the empire. We ruled territories bigger than Portugal with district governors, we ruled territories bigger than Italy with provincial governors
The only thing you guys have in common with us that we fought with all of you

You can be proud of that.
