Keep some apple juice around. Nice little cocktail and girls love it. (Very popular in Poland)

As for me, this is my go-to scotch. Great product if you're into smokey-peaty whiskies.

My go-to is Smirnoff 100 proof mixed with white cherry Gatorade.

Might seem a little goofy, but I'm in college.

Most students go with cheap vodka. Smirnoff costs a bit more but is much better quality, and the 100 proof means it's 50% alc/vol versus 35%-38% like most others.

Gatorade because it keeps you hydrated throughout the night. And there's no fizz like sodas. (I don't like fizz.)

White cherry because it's the only gatorade flavor that doesn't color your tongue or face. Women aren't interested in men with a green tongue.

Throw it in a reusable water bottle that I've designated specifically for alcoholic drinks, so it's easy to pack up and take party-to-party.

The other alternative is beer, which most students drink. "I'M TOTALLY GONNA DOWN THIS 24 PACK ALL BY MYSELF THIS WEEKEND, FUCK YEAH!" That's cool and all, but
  • 1.) Vodka gets you drunk faster.
  • 2.) Vodka gets you drunk with less liquid, so less peeing.
  • 3.) Drinking a 24 pack-a-weekend is awful for you.
Would definitely recommend Smirnoff 100 proof. It gets you there fast.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who enjoys hard liquor and gatorade, unfortunately I didn't know there was a clear version so I had the blue tongue. I heard pedialyte is real good for hangovers too, maybe that could be an alternate mixer?

That's your favourite? Would've thought Jura was your favourite as it is your username.

Yea, I tried mixing it with some cloudy apple juice. I can see why plenty of people like it, tastes sort of like apple pie.

Oh it's still definitely a favorite of mine. I always keep a bottle of the Superstition around. Good stuff.

I don't know - I've never tried it. If there's a clear version of it then give it a try. Just rule out mixing with any colored drinks. Otherwise you'll approach women looking like this:

Tried it. B+

Definitely unique.

This stuff is really growing on me. If you see it you should pick up a bottle.

It's not syrupy or sweet, so it's good neat or on the rocks.

I also tried mixing it with lime juice and simple syrup(4:2:1) and it reminded me of isaan food.

No vodka. There is no reason to ever drink vodka unless you are a 21-year-old girl....

Has anyone tried apple flavoured Crown Royal?

I might try mixing some drinks with Pedialyte and see what happens.

For hangovers though, Pedialyte is the shit.....and it prevents you from getting the shits.

Opinions?

Anyone have any better suggestions?

2 parts Crown purple bag, 1 part Crown Apple, splash of water over ice. You can also go 50/50 mix, but 2:1 is my preference for good flavor without being too sweet.

What's the point of putting fruit into your liquor ?

Especially when it's chemical.

It just tastes like Angry Orchard, but with a kick. A stronger, more bitter taste to compensate for the increased alcohol adding a shot of liquor does.

Kind of reminds me of mixing Fireball with Angry Orchard (Angry Balls), only this is less of a cinnamon taste and more of an apple taste.

Don't limit yourself - Try using any of the different flavors of Angry Orchard. I used the original but any of them would probably do.

That's mostly an appearance thing for women. Makes the drink look 'cuter'.

I know that in general, some people like it because it absorbs some of the alcohol so the drink tastes less bitter.

If someone wants to put apple, cherries, or watermelon into their drink it's better to just drink the lowest grade vodka with a mixer. There's nothing wrong with gin n' juice to get hammered.

There's absolutely no situation or reason to drink high quality liquor with fruit or anything else. Putting in good liquor for cocktails is a complete waste. That's why sometimes it's good to rebottle shit in high end bottles..if you're catering nonsense people then you feed them nonsense they are used to.

^^^Agreed. Apparently most bars use cheap vodka for their drinks anyway. So chances are, we've all had it and didn't know it.

Vodka and most hard liquors are one of those things where I am completely oblivious to the differences between a $15 bottle and a $300 bottle. Especially when mixing.

For example, I've tried Grey Goose before. That's the highest quality vodka you can get at any store near me. I couldn't taste any difference compared to my usual stuff.

But don't ever buy the dirt-cheap vodka in those gallon plastic bottles either. People will think you're poor. Always go with the medium-cost reasonable vodka in glass liter bottles.

My cousin and I used to sell people watered down Smirnoff in Grey Goose bottles all the time. Always made enough money to for our nights out.

They could never tell the difference.

I've been on a rum kick the past few months, and the the Dark & Stormy (at least my version) is my new favorite drink. A D&S is a type of "buck" cocktail.

The basic version is 1 part dark rum, 2 parts ginger beer (has a much bolder and spicier flavor than ginger ale).

In the States, lime juice is added. When I make my own, I muddle half a lime and a few sprigs of cilantro before adding the ice, rum and ginger beer.

Picked this up a few days ago. It's very good with with strong maple flavor and a heavy mouth feel, but the rich flavor overpowers the ginger, cilantro and lime. When I use

, the balance is better.

Depends on the fruit. A cocktail is made with three basic ingredients, the liquor, a tart /sour flavor, and sweet. Lemons and limes are used for tartness, other fruits for sweet. The acid in citrus softens the burn of the alcohol.

Supposedly, sailors in the British navy made what they called "grog" by mixing their rum rations with water or weak beer, sugar and lime juice. The lime juice was important because it kept sailors from getting scurvy.
