After having passive income - what next?
12-07-2015, 02:21 PM
OP, I should add that you should probably have 6 to 12 months of living expenses saved if you have no other savings, and are living abroad on business income of $1500 a month. That should be enough for most emergencies. The really expensive but improbable emergencies are what insurance is for.
Overall, remember, there is no 100% fool-proof plan. One guy says $1500 a month is enough, another says $3K, and another guy says $10K. Different appetites for risk versus reward.

I have a passive income higher than you and Im not considering to retire anytime soon. Invest more, and more. Look at real estate investing, buy websites and sell them, invest in dividend stocks for passive income. My brother 2 years ago brought a building in Medellin for 150k usd, he tore it down, built a new one for 250k, and recently the new building was sold for 750k usd. His total investment was 400k. This is just an example.

In order of priority:
1. Take care of yourself (mind, body, spirit).
2. Take care of your family.
3. Take care of your real friends.
If you have extra time/energy after locking down the above 3, then:
4. Take care of those less fortunate than you.
There is no magic place/geographical cure, or piece of pussy/number of notches, or amount of money, or drug that will make you "happy." If you have a big hole right in the middle of you, no amount of exterior stimulation will ever fill it.
There are people living in favelas in Brazil with little to no money who find purpose, meaning, and enjoyment in their lives.
There are guys in New York making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year who are one step away from eating a bullet.

Does anyone know how I can open a US based bank account as a non resident for business purposes? I'm living in Canada but my market will be in the US only and I need to be able to pay the potential suppliers from a US based account.
I also can't even get a credit card from canada let alone the US. What are my options? Its E-commerce

Passive income (or even active) has a way of disappearing. Nothing lasts forever. Changing consumer tastes, new technology, competition, cheaper way of doing things, etc. change things. In other words, enjoy it while it lasts but don't expect it tolast forever. Best tohave another source of income and to build up savings.
Being unemployed or even self employed is the kiss ofdeath with most corporate recruiters. But unless you're going forwork that requires asecurity clearance or deep background investigation, you can simply say you worked at XYZ Co. (the company you owned.)
