I don't want to go through your post point by point and you have made some valid observations. However, I will say that WHERE you stay in London makes a huge difference in your experiences. In reality, we might as well have been staying in two totally different cities. When I was in London, I stayed in Richmond upon Thames for a while, then right off High Street Kensington, then on the other side of Hyde Park in Bayswater. So, yes, my experience of staying in London would be nothing like that of someone who grew up in South London.

Whether it comes to eating out, shopping or clubbing, London beats Toronto many times over. Toronto just cannot compete, we are talking about different leagues.

If you are single person who wants to enjoy life and has the finances to afford it, London cannot be beat.

If you are a family type of guy who wants to settle down and live a regular life of commuting to work and having a big house in the suburbs, a yard etc., then Toronto or somewhere in Canada might be better for you.

But, for those of us on this board, and the lifestyle we have, or aspire to have, London is a great city.

Your post is very misleading to say the least, Moma has broken down the average lifestyle in London. Yes it can be a "good" place to party/shop if you have money, by money I mean deep pockets which I think few on this board have. I am talking Oligarch money, Oil money, Diplomat money etc.
You were very fortunate to have lived in Richmond and in Kensington, the two very best places in London. By far not your typical average London environment, with rents starting at 300 pounds per WEEK ($500). I myself lived in North London, which is one step above South London.

On "average" Toronto kills London, I have friends who have worked hard not exactly filthy rich and live in nice condo's by the lake. Who can afford to live like that in London, yes agreed suburbia is boring and is great for families. Downtown Toronto has alot going for it and some very decent clubs/bars. The quality of life is alot higher in Toronto and many would be shocked to see how alot of Londoners live.
Have you partied in London? 100 pounds ($160) goes very quickly in a club/bar in London.
Don't let me start with the food, Toronto has a huge advantage with so many choices. In London the food was so bad I lost 15llbs during the time I was there.

I went out all day & night today, first time I've hit the town in my home town in ages because it doesn't interest me much having travelled the world and realising how terrible the local nightlife is and how low quality the girls are. My observations were as follows; plenty of girls out though majority are with their boyfriends or guy friends, 95% of the girls are overweight, badly dressed, masculine, really annoying (because they are so drunk a lot of the time) or a combination of all the above.

Guys who are in all honestly much better looking than me have settled for quite frankly hideous looking chicks who even I wouldn't look twice at (I guess when you've fucked beauties from Brazil, Thailand, Peru, Vietnam etc you get a bit picky) so the girls have an inflated self ego and start thinking they are much better than they really are. It leads to
girls who are average at best (being generous here) getting this idea they are something special.

I had one girl come sit next to me and tell me her friends had dared her to come over and ask for my number, I looked at the friends and they blatantly had no idea she was even coming to talk to me because they weren't paying any attention. She then mumbled something about "oh but don't worry I've got a boyfriend so it's OK" when she realised I wasn't interested. I brushed her off and she went back to her friends and one said to her "I told you he wouldn't be interested", even they thought she was a lost cause. I hate to be harsh but she was seriously overweight, badly dressed and stupidly drunk. She actually resembled Friar Tuck from Robin Hood because of her size, shape and the horrible dress she had chosen to wear, like a monks robe. This is the calibre of girls available in the average UK city at the moment.

All of this is the norm across the UK. Do you really want to visit?

Mate I can definitely concur with many of your points in this post. But damn you guys are giving the UK a bad rap! I'll be brutally honest the quality does not compare to many European and ESPECIALLY South American countries. Yes many girls do think they're the shit when they're actually disgusting, same cultural phenomenon is present in the whole of the Anglophone world, as I'm sure many American guys will agree with.

Nonetheless, I currently live in Manchester and there are hot girls to be found and damn if you go to the right places it can be swarming with them...just like it was in a whole strip of joints I was in last night..All about locations. Day gaming in Manchester and London you will find plenty of opportunities, as with the evening you just have to no where to go.

I'll be honest I would much prefer to live abroad as I like travelling and generally I think women outside the UK, particularly South America are of far superior quality, not just looks but the whole package. But with my life situation I remain here for the moment. Don't let rumours and bs put you off a visit to the UK because it's painted as some Armageddon, because it really isn't. The country has a lot to offer and I'm sure you would have a great time...A man on a mission can never fail to have a good time in London town.

DK902 - Manchester seems to be a different kettle of fish compared to London, the nightlife is great there and alot easier to pull. My problem with the UK is the cost and what you get for your money, I have family there so to visit is not a problem.

Day gaming is pretty tricky in London, girls in Central London have bitch shields as you mentioned and they are not all that.
My remedy for that when I lived there was to hop on a plane and head to many of the great spots in Europe.

You have to ask yourself why so many British stag parties are always out of the country? Is it the cheap beer?

English girls are genereally ugly but there are some of the finest women in the world in the UK. London is an international city and as such its a beacon for fit chicks from all over the world. It is not even that expensive if you know how to make it work. I paid 3.50 for a gin and tonic in a nice pub in central london this week. I also got had a guy drive me around in a new top spec E-class merc for half the price of a black cab. Trust London ROcks.

The average cost of a pint of beer in London is around 3.50. You don't HAVE to spend a 100 pounds when you go out in London. Of course you can, but you can just as well spend a quarter of that amount and still have a good time. If I go partying in Central London, I don't have to worry about spending 30 or 40 bucks on a cab at the end of the night either. I can take the nightbus to almost anywhere. Whereas in Toronto it would cost me an arm and a leg to get back home if I am not driving.

As for the food in the United Kingdom, I am not really sure where you were eating, but London is one of the culinary capitals of the world. I find your comments very amusing.

I can't compare with Toronto, but it's possible to get away with spending way less on a night out in London. My average spend is 50 pounds on a night out and that's without feeling that I'm being tight with money. I can cut it down to 20 pounds if I really need to save.

You can find plenty of cheap food around London. A lot of the Vietnamese restaurants near old street cost you 5-10 pounds for a main course. You can get good curries on Brick Lane for less than ten pounds.

That said eating out in London is usually very poor value if you go to a middle of the road place, but you'll find value both at the cheap end and the high end.

Listen, mate, I'm the cheapest cat when it comes to clubbing in my own city. You CAN club cheaply in Toronto. I don't drink when I go out, I just pre-load on vodka prior to departure, when club is done, I'll take the night bus home, it runs all night.
Food costs an arm and leg in London, bruv, I'm a big eater and I was constantly starving out there.

London is alright but the wonga can really sting you when going out. You do not get your bang for your buck the way you do in North America..real talk!
However, outside of London, there are lovely cities and nice birds that are pretty and easily shaggable. I also tell my London headz to head outside of London to a surrounding city if they want an easy bang.

But from the talk here, it appears you guys are loaded with cash.

Since you are, then you will love London.

What do you think about staying in the Earl's Court tube area?

Pros/Cons?

Any hot tips?

Backpacker central. There is plenty of budget accomodation and cheap restaurants around to feed the budget travellers. It is grungy and not very pretty. But, it's very central, with good tube connections, which is probably what attracts travellers in the first place.

Manabout -

I think you threw up an airball.

Didn't see a single backpacker.

Not as nice as Chelsea, but far from "grungy".

Plus, the prices of restaurants were on par with Beverly Hills.

If a backpacker was there, he must have had a diamond studded backpack.

i just read roosh's "Busted Dudes test" post - based on that test, London would have to be at the bottom of everyone's list.

it's definitely worse here than other places in western/northern europe and north america i've been to. you will not believe how many average to good-looking, pretty successful guys go out with complete dogs. and the real kicker is that most of them have a nasty personality as well

i sometimes get so used to it, i don't even notice it anymore

This is very true. It's easy for me to glorify London because I've done well there, but there's little in the way of men dating up.

I don't think London is any better or any worse than most English speaking cities to be honest. I see the exact same thing here in Toronto. Attractive, succesful guys with absolute dogs who push them around and treat them like crap. The guys are absolutely resigned to it. It is a lot worse once they get married. The divorce laws are so skewed in womens' favour that, for a man, sticking around with an ugly cow who abuses you every day is actually preferable to the alternative.

Most Brazilian guys that I know that went to London were working part-time in shitty jobs(Working holiday or Illegaly) while studying english. Most claim that they were banging the same/better quality pussy while they were there comparing to their performance in Brazil.

What do u guys think?

1)They are full of crap and Lying

2)They were dating down for sure(Dating girls uglier than them.)

3)Is it possible that even living like a poor in London(Couch/room sharing / cheap food / tight budget) they were banging quality pussy due to:

1)Because Most of these guys are fit/young/ stylish (Under 25 y old)
2)Latin agressive,"macho" game (caveman approach)
3)Exotic factor ? (Even with Tons of Brazilians in London)

Went out on the weekend with $80 and came home with change, I live in the burbs and we usually have a designated driver.

I am not sure where you are partying in London, but I am talking the Central clubs which have cover charges of 20 pounds and drinks are usually 10 pounds. I am not talking cheap pubs around London or Wetherspoon's chain.!!

As for the food, I don't care how many Michelin restaurants London has - I am talking everyday food. Moma a long time UK resident says you can starve there and I have already stated I lost weight there.

Kinda of curious what brings you to Toronto, since London is so nice!
