You don't need any formal education.

However if you don't have much money to spend you will have to learn certain skills. For instance you will have to learn how to set up a wordpress website if you don't want to pay a web developer. Or if you don't want to learn how to set up a website, you will have to learn how to make videos and set up a youtube channel, etc.

Then you have to decide what sort of business you want to set up. Do you what to be an information marketer/problem solver? Do you want to sell other people's products? (Becoming an affiliate marketer.) Or some combination of the two?

The best program I ever signed up for was Super Fast Business, James Schramko's membership forum. He goes through most of the different models to make money online.

http://www.superfastbusiness.com/

It cost $70 a month. However if you are on a budget you could sign up for one month and download everything.

If you want free information you could check out the Warrior forum.

http://www.warriorforum.com/

Though if you are impulsive it might just cause you to buy a bunch of information products.

The basic formula to making money online is mastering a skill and then teaching/helping others either with that skill or to learn that skill. For instance Roosh mastered game and then makes his money teaching other men about game.

This forum has a ton of info on this topic available if you use the search.

The Digital Marketing/Internet Marketing Data Sheet Pt. 1

The Make $ Copywriting Datasheetl

For those who want to get into Internet Marketing

There are 3 solid posts to get you started.

Formal education isn't going to help with this, all the information you need is available online to teach yourself.

I think one of the best ways to learn is to take an idea and actually try implement it. Just get out there and try create a blog / website / digital product or whatever, even if doesn't make you any money you will learn a lot.

The warrior forum is god awful and a complete waste of time, as is digital point.

You want Wickedfire and Builder Society, as well as possibly Stackthatmoney and IMgrind. Nicky cake's blog is good. In the end, you need to network heavily in the industry to get a feel for what is working. It's very exclusionary and secretive. Pay attention to ads on major websites (crappy looking one with Oprah, doctor oz etc not big brands) that are obviously from Internet marketers and click through to the landing page to see what is currently working.

I would also recommend CPVLab or voluum, whatrunswhere, boxofads, beyondhosting, httrack website copier, and of course you'll need to apply to affiliate networks unless you are selling your own product or using adsense. For those I would recommend convert2media, maxbounty, lions bay media, affiliati, gosocial, clickbooth, jumbleberry. If you can't get into the networks you'll need to attend an Affiliate summit event and meet them in person...there is a ton of fraud in the industry.

You're also going to need money for testing if you are driving paid traffic. Money also helps with organic traffic as you can pay for backlinks and SEO optimized articles.

Good luck

Oh and there is no formal education for this, people will actively work against you and give misinformation like "affiliate marketing is dead." Never pay for any courses or bullshit gurus. Ever. If they were making money at this they wouldn't be wasting time teaching you for a couple hundred bucks and certainly wouldn't give their method away and introduce competition.

A much easier alternative is to create a product and private label it and throw it up on amazon. This basically automatically makes money and amazon provides the site and the massive traffic. I made a couple hundred grand from affiliate marketing but I am now doing amazon as it is much more stable and long term.

When you say you created a product. Was it something completely new in your niche? or did you just recreate something, rebrand it, and import it from china?

When I say "Information Marketer", I mean someone who creates Information products and sells them.

You don't necessarily have to sell your own products, you could pay affiliates to sell them for you.

Almost everything can be outsourced, even writing the content. The only thing you really have to master is being a problem solver.

However at first you might not have the money to invest and it is also easier to outsource if you understand how to do the job yourself.

Trojans, I am private labeling. So I found an existing product that is killing it and has relatively low competition, found the supplier in china, modified mine slightly and rebranded it with my own logo and box art and name, and shipped it to amazon fba. I'm not creative enough to invent shit.

As someone in ecommerce I wouldn't dare ask you what your product is but if your open to sharing large spanning category I'd love to know. Also if you have anything to say about private labeling health and fitness or beauty products, I hear some say its a goldmine and hear others say amazon is stringent with that stuff plus risks of having people ingest your products or use them on the skin is an added risk of people having allergies, being injured or sick etc.

Also if you have any resources to educate myself on private labeling I'd love if you could share. Most stuff I find googling is more companies who will do private labeling which is fine and dandy but I have a feeling they could cares less about me and making money they want a cilent so want some unbiased third party advice and education.

Thanks! Did you connect with the supplier about labeling the product for you, as well as box art? Or was that something externally after importing? Just wondering!

Thanks

Trojans,

I hired a designer friend from Apple to do the box art and it was expensive but outstanding. I did the website myself in Wordpress. The supplier gives you a box template to give to your designer. You then return it and they print you a run of boxes. Most are very familiar with the process and it was shockingly easy.

Jamaica,

I'm in beauty products but I can't say much else. It is a saturated niche so I took an (almost) unique angle.

Amazon is actually very relaxed. Especially after dealing with bans left and right with Facebook and google when I was affiliate marketing, working with amazon is a dream. A service rep is just a phone call or email away. "Stringent" probably refers to getting un-gated for the gated categories like beauty, fitness etc. A google search will tell you how to do it in give minutes. Never pay anyone to do this for you. Even though I don't currently sell in other categories, I got ungated for everything since as amazon grows it will get more barriers to entry. If I were you I would join the amazon fba / private label Facebook groups, network with people on there and maybe join a Skype mastermind.

The blackhatworld forum is full of good stuff (not all great - gotta sift), kaiserthesage, moz blog, quicksprout, backlinko, matthewwoodward, plus countless others...

For easy access do a search like "blackhatworld golden threads" or "best SEO articles"

Learn SEO to build the base of your site, outreach for linkbuilding, article writing for content and search engine rankings, now also have to make sure site is mobile optimized for google...

It took me about a month of DEDICATED (I mean 60 hrs a week reading) study to learn everything. Use those resources I told you about above and when you find somewhere else that's good, keep opening tab after tab for future reading. Nothing will be laid out on a platter but after a while it should just click.

Edit: From my bookmarks - CRAZY resources. Neil patel doesn't fuck around(quicksprout):

I run an online business.

The best advice I can give you is don't approach it with a "I feel like starting an online business just because it sounds cool" or something. The passion won't last.

Find what niche exactly gets your dick hard in the morning (metaphorically speaking haha) and then build a business around that.

It's still A LOT of work no matter how you cut it if you want to make a real business and not some affiliate marketing/annoying cheap ads out of the ass shit.

Notice how even in this thread several people have tried to sell you. Lol. Welcome to online business...

Unless your an SEO genius or a great writer who can quickly develope your own community and following I think you'll have better luck with ecommerce, although ecommerce also boils down to the same skills in many ways as affiliate marketing you want to get your product or ad in front of people and you do that in many of the same ways whether your an affiliate marketer trying to get your reviews on page one or private labeling and trying to get your private sales website ranked on page one.

I'd definatley recommend watching youtube channels, reading blogs, etc but really get your hands dirty. Not sure where your skill level is on making websites and stuff but if that's an area your lacking in start with a blogger blogspot blog. Costs you nothing to startup and its pretty easy drag and drop point and click. I always compare it to an old myspace page. If you ever had myspace you can definately setup a blogger blog. You can also put ads up on blogg unlike wiht free wordpress site where you cant.

That is not the best way to start but an easy way and a way to get your feet wet. Once you get used to using affiliate links, have some practice tracking and doing trial and error experiments and get down the blogspot platform make the transition over to wordpress. While your doing this focus on social media, trying to build facebook groups, etc.

Some people have great luck with clickbank and that is where the bigger money is however at the same time they have a high return rate and I've never had much luck selling them. I focus on adsense and amazon ads, I've tried eBay partner and wasn't crazy about that one.

My main thing is ecommerce though and looking into private labeling. I've had some success at blogging and affiliate marketing however I always hit a wall and can't make anymore. My wall is about $300 a month. I'll have one site earning that and say okay let me start another and add some money then another but I always hit that wall and no matter how many more sites I make my money doesn't really grow.

There's another thing I think we should really get under wraps here... Before you even start thinking about how you're going to market...

You need to figure out what you're going to sell.

Blogs do have their place but standalone blogging is saturated and unless you can bring real unique value to the marketplace (ie: an expert opinion) or a fun twist on an old topic I would advise you to not waste your time.

Blogging can be used in a few ways:
  • When creating a great database of resources
  • To provide traffic that will hopefully lead to sales of your product/service
  • Provide entertainment or something your viewers aren't getting somewhere else
The main point, is to have a USP (unique selling point). What are you bringing to the table that will be of tangible, explicable value? Because you can't expect to slap a blog up and write mediocre articles once a week and drown in passive income... So whatever it is you do, you've gotta be great at it.

You should definitely learn how to use a major platform, like wordpress, and stick with it. If you want to build a real website though, don't bother learning code because it's a waste of time (unless you really like writing code). You can get decent developers for pretty cheap now a days.

Just keep reading.. until you feel like you've got a grasp on it. If you're going to be offering a product or service, you'll also have to take into consideration you won't be strictly marketing "online".

Depending on what you want to do, you will have to start networking in person and making friends.. Which will benefit you anyway in many aspects of life.

Once you've got the "marketing" part down, you'd need to learn how to sell. Study psychology, emotional triggers, sales techniques.. and MOST IMPORTANTLY Copywriting. That's the most valuable skill of all.

I like to say: Your website design is the face of your brand, your copywriting is the voice. Learn to be human, get people excited, understand their desires etc.

With all the information you've gotten on this thread that should be enough to keep you busy for a while - now go take action [Image: idea.gif]

Has anyone ever heard of this Ipas2 shit? I somehow have one of their members on my Facebook. It just shows them sitting on a beach all day with their laptops with life inspire quotes captioned all over. I clicked a link and it was like an infomercial from the 1990s. Seems like a big MLM scam.

I want to become an expert in Online Internet Marketing

I found this in one of my old evernotes. I wish I could give credit to whoever wrote it. Know it is not my content, but at the time when I was considering getting into email marketing I found it useful. Hope it helps.

---------------------

I have recieved a few messages on how to get started in the email marketing business so I decided to make a post out of it. The industry is tough, no question about it. Each ISP has their own system in place of preventing unwanted e-mail (SPAM). Unfournately this affects us legitimate e-mail marketers. The guys who are making the $$ are the ones who are succesfully able to deliver to the major ISPs (AOL, hotmail, yahoo, etc)

These people are the BIGBOYS of the industry. You never hear a peep out of them because they are so flawless with their methods. CPA Networks adore

these mailers and will bend over backwards to satisfy their needs.

So how do you make a solid profit from email marketing? Great question, follow the old cliche, "It takes money to make money". A few years ago I would have said," download X product, load this list and your ready to go".

Now to be Can-Spam compliant you need Full data, valid unsubscribe, own server no proxies, and have a physical remove address. (Notice the paradox, You CAN SPAM as long as you have those 4 things). Servers, mailing software, data do not come cheap. Here is a list of tools you need

Mailing Software - Anywhere from $5,000 - $20,000 per license or $1,000 - $3,000/ month to rent. Im not talking about simple windows based programs that you load up and import list to. You need solid unix based mailers that can handle complaint removal, track clicks and opens, take care of unsubscribes etc. I use a mailign system called VoloMP. Others i've heard are good are nexxus, celibero, and savicom.

Servers - Depending on the speed and who you buy them from these can run upwards from $300 to $3,000 a month. Your mailing software company knows the ideal specs to have on your server. Ask them for the right setup.

Domains - Each IP you are mailing from needs its own domain. The cheap domains like .info automatically recieve spamassassin points because they are notrious spammer domains. You need .com or .net domains. Some ISPs like hotmail need a few ips to consistantly get through. I reccomend At least 20 ips to work with. Each domain will cost ya about $8 a piece. Enom is a good place to get domains.

Data - Ah yes, solid data. Very important your data is clean of any sort of spam trap. Spamhaus and spamcop will eat you alive if you have their emails in your list. If you can generate your own email addresses from your websites, great you are ahead of the game. Most people will need to find sources to get their data from. Buyer beware! Trust your sources. Always good to ask for a test list to make sure the person or companmy is legit. As to where to get data from? Well I cannot really say only because my sources would not approve of me posting their contact info on message boards. if your searious about email marketing PM and I can possibly find some for you.

Good data can run ya about $1k- $4k per mil but you might be able to find some cheaper if ya look hard enough.

List Manager - These are used to sort your data. What if you want to break your list up according to domain or split the list in half? You need a list manager to accomplish this goal. I use listmate pro. lightspeedmarketing also makes a good one. Mine cost me $800.

Your welcome, you wont find this content anywhere. It's very hard to get into this business from scratch. Most people who jump in the email game already have an established business and have the resources to expand. Some people are making thousands on a daily basis using the tools I listed above too. I hope this clears things up a bit. Best of luck!

There sure is, a lot. Dont pay attention to and completely ignore any of these blogs that claim to teach you anything. Most of them are thinly veiled attempts to sell info-products, where they will upsell you on their "miraculous method of making a million dollars!"

Go straight to the source, get all of your Google and Facebook certifications first;

AdWords Fundamentals
https://support.google.com/partners/answ...3810?hl=en
https://support.google.com/partners/answ...4326?hl=en
http://www.quora.com/How-can-I-prepare-f...mount-time

Google Analytics
http://www.google.com/analytics/learn/index.html

YouTube
https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/6145904?hl=en

Then once you pass, become a Google Partner;
https://www.google.com/partners/
Google will put you in a directory of approved partners. The more certs under your belt, the more exposure to you.

Next: become a Facebook PMP - Preferred Marketing Partner;
https://developers.facebook.com/marketingpartners

Finally: learn about email marketing, remarketing, non-Google SEO sources, native/content marketing, programmatic. The bulk of your earning potential happens with search engine marketing and social marketing(mostly in Facebook), but you need to learn the full marketing landscape to be a serious pro.

Create an LLC for your company, create a business name, a brand and a logo, then launch a simple website with a few pages explaining who you are and your business. Poof - you are a legit online marketing consultant. And I guarantee, you are ahead of most people who also claim to be, because most never get certified or study like you have.

Then pick what kind of clients you want to go after; do you want to help local business find new customers? Do you want to help new ecommerce companies attract new customers and grow their revenue? Do you want to help start ups find new clients? Find a niche and go after it, then become an expert marketer in that space.

Now you have the tools to make that completely measurable with ROAS, return on ad spend, because you can track exactly what your clients spend, and how much revenue they see in return. Thats your business model. And it requires them to give you full disclosure into their business. But once you prove it works its like crack, and you become a trusted essential part of their business. You charge them a 15% - 20% fee on top of what they spend(They spend $100,000, you make $15K), and an hourly rate for email marketing, set up, etc, anything outside of that media spend. As a fully certified agency, you can easily charge $100+ per hour.

The Google Certs are hard to do and take a lot of time. Its completely worth it and they are practically free. Creating a website with a brand name and domain, and a nice logo barely costs anything either. Mostly, you are devoting time to learn this legitimately, but once you do, you have a new career. And many of the self proclaimed guru's and pros in this business dont even come close to learning this, or even get certified.

Dont worry about affiliate marketing. Its sort of a mythical unicorn that weekend warriors chase to make money. Do some people make money at it? Sure, and there are a lot of urban legends. But the fundamentals are what truly make money, and what set you apart in this business. And you will understand affiliate marketing in a minute if you first learn the fundamentals. Good luck.
