Yeah, I'm not one who is down with this life either. Give me German cars, Asian women, and American dollars.
I guess camping can be fun though.

The thrill of busting a nut in or on a hot 19 year old is as short-lived as they come.
The prospect of unplugging from the manufactured world that has enslaved men provides a much more palpitating thrill.

"Unplug" from this "manufactured" world that has "enslaved" you and perhaps the relevance of the scare quotes I've used will become very clear to you, very fast.

The only people I know that would live on the Alabama river banks, getting chewed up by mosquitos are meth heads and/or homeless people. Most of the camping I've ever done is in the spring/fall/winter. The middle of summer is unbearable out there without occasional relief (think A/C-shower).

Except it's really sort of a false dream. And we should all recognize just how much we benefit from all of the advances that our lines of ancestors going back 100s of generations made possible for us.
Most of the time people's idea of "unplugging from the manufactured world" is to merely relocate to a less populated area, continuing to get the goodies like all sorts of material stuff and medicines that are from the manufactured world, and also while relying on the perfect and historically atypical security bubble provided by modern nation states of the manufactured world. A benefit that a lot of people skip over, but is very expensive to maintain and so so beneficial, since it's pretty nice when marauding bands of invaders and warlords don't slaughter you. So yeah, no one really unplugs completely, because it would really really suck. I suppose you would have to parachute naked into the Brazilian Amazon or tribal hinterlands of Pakistan, and then burn your parachute and start over st square one like our very earliest ancestors. You would be cold, hungry, and dead very soon though.
So, yeah the manufactured world does a lot more than just enslave men. In fact, its easier now than at any time in history for a male of non royal lineage to make the manufactured world his bitch, and use this invention of "money" to get whatever resources he may need in the location of his choosing.

Interesting side note here. This probably deserves its own thread, but I'll drop it here. Looks like the media is now trying to cheerlead for women hunters:

After years of criticizing hunting as "cruel" and "inhuman", hunting is now cool, hip, and trendy, since it has the female seal of approval.

stuff like this^ Living 'off the land' or 'off the grid' isn't fun in my opinion. Winter, shitty rainy weather all suck. The first time you get sick while by yourself in the wilderness is fucking horrible. You still have to do all of your 'chores' with 1/8th the energy, while shitting yourself. Injuring yourself also blows pretty hard too, but I'd rather have a sprained ankle than the flu in an icy december rain in the woods.

Not trying to argue or change your mind, but people carry diseases/illness. If you aren't exposed to people, you don't get sick. Certainly not advocating being a hermit as a good way of life because it'll stop you getting colds.
