He is aight but I wouldn't say he is the best. I am not following the UK rap/garage scene like before but I don't think he is better than guys like Kano, Wiley or Ghetto. These 3 guys have way more bars than him and better flows.

You may disagree, but arguing who is the best rapper is like arguing who is the best woman. Some guys on here rate certain women as 9s when they are straight 5s for me, I rate certain women as 9s when they are 5s for some guys on here.

But he is got skills though, but not the best UK mc.

I like his lyrics, Dot Rotten is another good one for those "deep" flows:

Ghetto is probably the best in terms of pure energy and wordplay

Best is personal and entirely subjective.

But I share your appreciation of Mic Righteous. He is talented and passionate. I saw him live last year at a very small venue, he captivated the crowd and generated a lot of energy.

Also from the UK.

For me - Shotty Horroh, hands down.

He personally reminds of a younger, English Eminem - in that he is so far ahead of his peers, it becomes boring. His battling skills are unbelievable.

He used to be a regular feature of the Don't Flop league, which is a real hotbed of upcoming talent. A couple of my favourite battles of his are below:

If you haven't checked out league, take a look - there's some really impressive and skilful battling to be found.

There are some good MCs in the UK, but the one thing that bothers me is them talking about choppers. None of these guys could get guns there aren't even that many circulating in UK street gangs yet they still talk like they can shoot you. This isn't the US.

Just because guns are more available in the US, does not make the US rappers any less insincere.

Most so called gangster rappers are merely selling an illusion, I don't care if there are exceptions, it is still an unrealistic and stupid goal/lifestyle to set for people. Besides, the video in the post you quoted is a battle rap, they are known to say some extreme things for show. Rapping doesn't have to be realistic to be good.

My rationale for Shotty Horroh is based purely upon lyrical ability, breadth of vocabulary and impact of delivery - I'd be the first to agree that a lot of content within rap (as opposed to hip-hop, which I see as a form of social commentary) is pure fantasy. As mentioned by Lizard King, rap - especially battle rap - is by its nature extreme and aggressive and always contains unrealistic subject matter.

Regarding accents - you should hear mine [Image: biggrin.gif]

I don't think they're too worried about you being put off by the accent.

Guns are readily available if you know the right people…they're just fucking expensive!

Most people in the UK and probably these guys too will never see a gun in their life though, I agree.

I really like MC Codebreaker. I guess because he rhymes over drum and bass and has cool UK slang in his lyrics. He is one of the reasons I got deep into DnB music. music. I spent alot of time digging through YouTube for clips of him dropping rhymes, whether it be flex FM or something else.

Since we get such low exposure to UK music over here it's hard to know what stuff is good to check out. I will be saving this thread as a reference for later on when I get back home again.

A college classmate of mine was from South London. I told him to stop talking trash to people here in Texas, because people here have guns unlike UK people. Not only did he say he still did not give a fuck, but he said, "I would keep a sawdoff in me coat." "it'd be none of your bidness, unless we had a problem. Then you would know that I had one. "

I miss him alot. Good memories. Lol

I love Texas and can only imagine the escapades a Saaaf Laandan geezer would get up to there.
