Wow this thread had turned into gold. BUT: I wish more guys would hid the Ekmani clubs like Escobar etc with more of an open mindset, to see if they manage to do well. Having all these (partially conflicting) datapoints can work against you. I also feel that I know less anout thr real BKK every time I leave. The expat I know that gets by far the hottest girls only goes to the Thai style drinking places, his favourite one is next to Escobar. Its strange in that it takes 1- money 2- looks and 3- game 4- time (a little of each pnly though) but the payoff is amazing. Wish we had a member only RVF only snapchat accout so i could post some if the pics.

True words.

These places are put on a pedestral here and this is not good for the mind set. Everybody who is doing well at home and is able to adapt to different cultures has a fair chance of scoring girls from these places. Obviously it is not as easy as shoring outworn hookers...

Also while there are many rich and famous people the majority of girls going to these places are still normal middle class or upper class girls. They just know how to sell themselves better and usually come with more attitude and drama.

The major challenge with the Thai clubs is simple logistics in that they're laid out with tables everywhere and very little ability to approach freely. If you do make an approach, you are often very visible due to the layout, which works against you since Thai guys cockblock like hell if they don't know you. You can't run standard club game.

The challenge is getting a solid social circle of middle class Thais, not actually pulling the girls, which is no different than anywhere else in the world. Social acceptance through Thai friends is key.

Those places are good, and there are plenty of very responsive girls there, be them normal office workers, flight attendants or just there on Daddy's money.

But yeah, as Berserk has said, it's SO much easier when you have a group of Thai friends and you look like you're there to enjoy the night rather than hunt.

With a table of Thai's you can easily invite people to your table, cheers girls and get your Thai friends to bring girls over for you. Social proof works massively well here and the girls open up to it.

A 'stake in society' and permanent residence here helps too. When I tell them my job and future plans I see them figure out where I fit into the societal 'hierarchy'. (Reasonably high as my school has a reputation for being expensive as hell). Thai's are obsessed with this type of thing.

Looks and dress sense helps a lot too. Looking well-dressed, clean and fresh goes far here. Think of what these girls have as their phone background and aim for that look. I personally aim for Peter Parker/Daniel Radcliffe.

And knowing the culture. Miles away from Britain/Taipei. Thai girls seem to really like a more 'innocent' vibe compared to Taiwanese girls. When I open girls here I sometimes give them a compliment on their looks. Would I do that in a Taipei club? Hell no. But over time I've learnt how to 'tone things correctly' and set myself apart from the riff-raff farang guys walking around with a beer in their hand and cross-hairs in their eyes.

If I'm rolling solo or am with other farang though, I avoid Thong Lor etc. I don't wanna become recognizable there.

Plus for what it's worth, you can find those girls on through certain Apps. To reel off a list, I've banged an M.C, some woman who works for Estee Laurer, a nurse, a Chulalungkorn student, a bank clerk and various women who work in some boring-as-hell marketing job. These girls have their own cars and live alone in nice condos. A lot of them would be the types to go to these places.

I had a group of Thais over playing truth or dare (Childish I know hehe) the other night. 2 girls and their 2 guy friends. Now that was a wild night. If I was here longer would definitely try to develop that social circle but for now my game plan for Route 66 tomorrow night- Dance the night away and don't even attempt to spin game. If you're there for a good time, it usually turns out that way.

Back in Bangkok for a couple of days btw before hitting Phi Phi.

Holy shit, Phi Phi is amazing! I got here during the day and it seemed completely dead- Couldn't wait to get out of here. Now, after one night, I never want to leave.

Another Russian notch. This one had a boyfriend.

Aside from the beautiful scenery, I didn't care much for Ko Phi Phi or Ao Nang and Raileh. I think I carried my usual dislike for beach life with me to Thailand. Fun for a few days (one week in total for me, though most of the last three days spent in my hotel room with food poisoning) but just not fun enough for me as a late 30s solo traveler with a limited tolerance for drinking and partying.

I've been in Thailand for a month now, going to stay the last two weeks in Bangkok. It's mostly been a lot of fun. As far as girls go I had two mini relationships in Chiang Mai - favorite place so far, I stayed two weeks - with local girls.
Back in Bangkok for a few days now I'm trying to decide if I want to see a girl regularly I met two days ago, and bang a few massage girls on the side, or meet up with some of the several girls I'm chatting to on Blendr/Badoo, or do daygame.

I could seriously use some practice in how to handle seeing multiple girls at a time when you only have one room to take them back to. And Thai girls seem to get quickly attached, so they expect to see you every day.
Managing a harem of more than three girls - or just three - would probably drive me nuts in a couple of weeks or less. I think pump and dump is better suited for my temperament when I want variety. Shame I also tend to still be a bit too nice for that when the girl is cute and friendly.

Simple. As much as the girls want to see you every day, don't give it to them. Tell them you're busy, have things to do...this is a general rule of keeping a girl attracted. Giving you the time to manage multiple girls is just a bonus.

I gotta find girls who are free in the daytime, which I guess really shouldn't be that difficult in Bangkok. The girl I've been seeing the last few days - she just left to go home to sleep, much appreciated (but I promised to spend some of her day off tomorrow with her) - is only free at night, and so are the several others I've been chatting to.

Out to hit the streets and malls looking for a daytime girl I think.

Edit: Telling girls I have other things to do than see them every day comes entirely natural for me at home (though I still need harem experience there too), but here in Thailand - while being evasive on many topics - I've usually been quick to give the, true, impression that I'm just a tourist with not a whole lot on the plate most days aside from some hours of planned or random sightseeing, and otherwise plenty of time to spare.
A "working while traveling" attitude would probably be much more advantageous.

Nothing kills attraction like being available 24/7.

So Adrenaline, how many notches so far? (paid ones don't count, if any)

Hope you enjoy it!

Things have slowed down a bit. 4 in Bangkok, 1 in Pattaya and 2 in Phi Phi so 7 all up. I had my phone stolen at the beach party in Phi Phi Don and have been sick for a few days now so no drinking. No drinking as a solo traveller is obviously going to kill me. I'm in Phuket at the moment and the place seems similar to Pattaya, except with a much nicer beach, and more non-working girls in groups. Any decent clubs other than Seduction? Go-Go bars are terrible and why anyone would spend their nights there is beyond explanation.

Oh and I thought being sexually harassed by girls would be awesome, but it's really starting to get on my nerves. Now I know what girls feel like when they're treated like a piece of meat lol.

To find non-working girls you would need to head to Phuket Town. Even then, there's not much too shout about. I would prob join on a dating site. Pretty much all of Patong except for tourists are working girls at all the typical nightlife venues except Seduction.

How can I snag some Thai friends on the fly. I have struggled in the clubs because of what berserk and leighton are talking about. The shitty layouts and high bitch sheilds are grinding me down. I am not surprised at the needing social proof thing now that I read it from yall. However without working here I don't know what the solution is, any thoughts?
I am in Bangkok.

Mass message several girls with the same message and leave your number/line to get them to contact you. Message like 20-40 girls at once. At least 5 will add you. Meet them and the rest is easy enough.

Can somebody give advice on thai sims? Which one is the best card for short term (~a week) stay? Can you recommend the "tourist" options or is it better to get a permanent card? Which network is the best? Is there something I need to know in advance, like for example having an ID?

Thanks for any help!

Get one at the airport. You can get plans that are temporary tourist ones. It'll be like $15 or so for some internet and minutes. I went with True Move which was decent. There's also Dtac and AIS at the airpprt. Very easy to spot as soon as you clear customs and come out of the arrivals door.

I've been using dtac, and have been perfectly happy with coverage and 3G speed almost everywhere but out in the jungle or mountains up north.
I didn't look at their one or two week options though, paid 899 baht - if I recall correctly - at their airport shop, for sim card and 9 GB data. Topped up with 2 GB data for the second month for around half the original price.

They did everything for me, including inserting and activating the sim.

Anyone got any thoughts on Phuket Town? I am not expecting it to be anything crazy, but maybe a good place to the feet wet in Thai Culture, food and the like. I will be there on the 26th, in Phuket for 2 days before heading to Aonang

Nope, but it's gotta be better than Patong! After a week here, can't wait to get catch my flight home today. Next Thailand trip I'll skip Pattaya and Phuket all together, head to Bangkok for a while then put a heavy focus on the islands.

Hey Adrealine, time to sum up the trip and let us know if the trip was worth it?

Remember how scared you was when you wrote this post? [Image: wink.gif]

I'm starting to get very nervous about being in a completely foreign country for a month on my own for the first time. The original plan when flights were booked was to go with a mate, but it looks like he won't be able to go. I'm at that point where I'm seriously contemplating booking another flight back 2 weeks earlier so the trip would only be two weeks in length. This would give me enough time to get the dental work I need done, do some partying and experience a few different places, but at the same time won't give me enough time to get bored, lonely and I'll be able to make it back home for a couple of epic events back in Kangarooland that are taking place while I'm currently scheduled to be away. It's a really difficult decision to make without experiencing being away solo for such a long period of time before.

What you think, good move or mistake?

Yes, I remember and although I was beginning to miss home (mostly due to being unwell and not being able to drink) towards the final week of my trip, it was definitely worth the leap of faith.

Bangkok- Amazing, bustling city for a week or two but may become overwhelming after that if you don't build a solid social circle. The smell, especially around Sukhumvit 11, was something you have to experience to believe and would take a lot of getting use to. The unprofessionalism of waiters, secretaries, dental assistants, hotel staff etc blatantly hitting on me was appalling by Australian standards but loved it hehe. I liked the fact that the city was happening every night of the week, which was refreshing in contrast to where I'm from. I probably had the 2 best nights of my trip here and got the most lays (4) so overall a great experience. My advice is go to the Thai clubs on Friday/Saturday nights and Khao San Road's "The Club" or any of the bars there if that's your scene are guaranteed to be pumping any other night of the week. I wasn't a fan of Sukhumvit 11's night life, other than Levels on a Saturday night.

Pattaya- Wish I had listened to advice and cut my stay here from 5 days to maybe 2 or 3 days. Once you've had one night out here, you've seen everything. Every night after that will be exactly the same. Go straight to Maxx. Don't even bother with Insomnia or Lucifer or "Walking Street Club" as they are crawling with hookers and a bunch of ugly and/or old men who have no chance with any other type of woman. There are hardly any bangable non-Thai female tourists and the bar girl/hooker scene is just to much to get away from. The beach is garbage and not even worth lapping up the sun at so make sure your hotel has a pool if visiting. I highly recommend "Sutus Court Hotel" at around 700 baht a night. It has large, clean rooms with a nice swimming pool. One positive is massages, hair cuts etc are extremely cheap. I also managed to bang a smoking hot European girl who I met as I was walking out of Mixx at 3am and no, I didn't pay a cent. She was quite offended when I made sure she wasn't a working girl (I thought I was subtle lol) but came home with me anyway. Her reply was "I'm on holiday, you're leaving tomorrow...Can't two good looking people just have casual sex together". I ain't arguing with that logic woman.

Phi Phi Don- I actually extended my stay here from 3 nights to 4 nights because I was having so much fun. During the day, it's nice to relax by the beach where there are European and North/South American hotties everywhere. By night the island turns into a giant beach party with 4Play, Slinkys and Ibiza providing most of the action. I went in solo and drunkenly danced 3/4 nights, ended up getting with two different Russian girls, one in the water and one after swimming onto some stranger's boat lol. One of the girls literally just pulled me away from fire limbo, stripped down and dragged me into the water. The party still ends at 2am here which is a shame but none the less, a great 4 hours from about 10pm onwards.

Phuket- I'm not sure if it was due to the fact that was I getting tired and sick but this place seemed awful to me, almost as bad as Pattaya, although I'll mark it above Pattaya as there was a fair bit of foreign talent and Patong beach was extremely nice. There are a lot of couples which gets annoying as you have to scan hard for single girls but Seduction provides a solid playing field and if your club game is tight, you'll have no problem there. Don't bother with anywhere else as far as clubs go in patong though as they're either dead or gogo bars. Maybe Phuket Town is a better option.

Overall, 7 lays without paying a cent in Thailand is an effort I'm proud of. It could have easily been a couple more had I not been bed-ridden for most of the final week. Like I said, I won't be going back to Pattaya or Phuket. Next Thailand trip will have a focus on Bangkok (might try to get up to Chiang Mai) and the Eastern coast of the island (Koh Samui and Koh Phangan). I regret not attending the full moon party as I heard it was crazy from backpackers who made the trip to Phi Phi afterwards so that is definitely on the bucket list for next time.
