Late to the party, but this made my day.

Yeah, this is a big deal. This amount of exposure is unprecedented and it comes at a good time. There will be some problems but it's all worth it.

Funny to read bitches' reactions -- it boggles their mind that such a text could even exist! Then once they process that it does they take it for granted that there must be some way to take it down. The manginas are just grim because they know it's not that easy. Nope, not yet and maybe never.

Hell yeah...

We have your motherfucking record company surrounded

Earlier today the comments were at 1200 or so.

Pretty epic traffic spike.

I'll assume most came from the huffpo article?

Linux, VPN, or if you have a decent amount of money, you could have a laptop dedicated only to the manosphere with no traces of your identity on it and another dedicated to everything else. It all depends on how dox-proof you want to be.

Get a separate laptop for when you use ROK/Twitter/RooshV/etc.

Install Linux on it.

That's a good place to start.

A simple way would be to sign up for a VPN.

It hides your identity with a different IP address.

Go the extra mile and get some Russian or foreign VPN provider that will protect your privacy.

Doing both VPN and Linux would be a great foundation.

Social herd instinct. Once it's obvious it's a thing that girls are getting offended by, every girl will have to jump in and say her piece, because everyone else is doing it, especially if celebrities are involved.

I'm starting to realise just how much social media has changed things in terms of just how damn easy it is now to manipulate the media and public opinion. The possibilities for the scope of trolling are now enormous, given the voracious demand for online content to fuel advertising dollars at media institutions staffed by lazy journalists who won't challenge their biased-preconception ony any topic by actually researching it, and the near-hysterical emotional fragility being generated by educational institutions and a life of middle class comfort, whom forget to moderate their public face due to their supercilious arrogance that everything they believe must be correct.

To add to what has been already said Tuth, short of buying another computer you could use two separate browsers. Definitely use Firefox for Tuthmosis and IE, Opera, Chrome, whatever for your real identity. That means bookmarks, video views, everything. Never have both browsers open at the same time. Make sure your cookies and history is set to autoclear and close the browser completely before logging into the other. That along with the VPN should do a good job of keeping the two identities from being associated to the same IP.

A step further than that but still short of using two separate computers would be to dual-boot Linux and use that OS for manosphere and Windows for personal. That way you can take advantage of the security of Linux without sacrificing your Windows based programs. That along with the VPN would make it pretty damn difficult to fuck with you. Then continue using the two separate browsers on two separate OS's and your laptop is basically Inception [Image: lol.gif]

The VPN is the general theme in all of this.

I'm not a computer expert, but I think it would help you to make sure you're not sending emails from a fixed IP address. The headers reveal your IP address. This can reveal your location and help people track you down. I'm sure some others on the forum who work in the computer industry would have further ideas on how to protect the ROK site and your identity.

Also, human slip ups are a big part of people's cover being blown. A few people figured out who David Lat was when he was blogging at Underneath Their Robes. Part of it was that he dropped hints about his life that helped people sleuth his identity. (He revealed that he was a former federal appellate law clerk from a top law school, for instance.) He made the mistake of corresponding from a fixed IP address with some of the judges he was writing about.

I think a human slip up may be your biggest threat, but others in the forum with more technical know-how than me can give you better tips on potential electronic threats.

______________

Bosch, you have made a fantastic comment which puts into words what I've learned from the server failure today at ROK.

It has been a real eye-opener to me to see just how venal and base the public really is. I always knew it in an abstract sense, but to see it actually play out before your eyes is a whole new dimension of understanding.

It is just amazing to see this kind of hysterical outburst of hissy-fit-ism over Tuth's viral posts. It's like these female commenters are whipping themselves into a frenzy over some projection of their own creation. They just can't tolerate anything, not even something meant as humor, that contradicts some supposed sacred mantra. Ultimately all this will help ROK, I think, but we will have to ride out the shitstorm in the meantime.

My already low respect for women has now hit an all-time low. Lower than crocodile piss...and that's pretty low.

Guy at the bottom of the reddit thread has a legitimate reason why the article is wrong (because anorexic girls aren't attractive and aren't vulnerable in the way the article says), and people respond telling him how terrible he is. Nice.

Dude. It's women. They have a website where a thread was titled "Type 5 letters fast" and it had 11,000 or some ridiculous amount of comments, because each one's five letter tome was breathtakingly unique and they just HAD to let all the sister's know about it.

The petition now has 3000+ signatures. Are these people that dumb? What do these idiots think is the point of this "petition"? They could get 100,000 signatures but nothing would change. All they are doing is giving the article/website more hits/clicks/views.

These people are so used to being PC and the PC police comprised of feminists, manginas, white-knights and the government on their side they think simply signing a petition is going to take down a private website. I guess this is a "First World Petition" to remove an article from a private website. All they have to do is not read it. Idiots.

Use Firefox with NoScript (best browser/add-on combo to protect your computer).

http://noscript.net/

Use a VPN to browse/post like others have said.

While I'm also not a computer security expert, the above is the post that makes the most sense to me.

Understand how sending an e-mail includes your IP address in the header of your messages and take steps to mitigate that.

Beware of received e-mails. Obviously you are not going to open any suspicious attachments. But beyond that, make sure that the simple act of opening an e-mail doesn't reveal your IP address to the sender. For example, spammers know at what rate their e-mails get opened because their e-mail contains a picture. When you open the e-mail, your computer sends a request to their server to download the picture.

It might be useful to deal with ROK related traffic from behind a proxy or VPN. A proxy is like a relay station for your internet traffic. When acting through a proxy, the idea is that your correspondents would only see the address of the relay station and not your local IP address.

A lot of Traffic also came from Tumblr:

Started this Change.org petition calling for Roosh to shut down ROK.

She made a simple image post on tumblr that links to the petition alongside links to ROK pages: courtneyisawesomeateverything.tumblr.com

This in addition to another Change.org petition calling for ROK to remove the post with such gems such as:

"It’s people like you and your publication that defame real journalists that actually have things of importance to share with the world
As a member of an organization that works to promote positive body image for women, I want to tell you that statements like, "while they may have a “distorted body image” on the inside, that usually means staying trim and fit on the outside," are not remotely humorous because there are girls out there that will believe every word of this article
Sincerely,

An Emotional Eater

Will Tuth get the BanHammer for shutting down ROK with his article??

Can you really petition "the internet" to shut down a website?

This thread is like the Large Hadron Collider of game. I now see that there might be a general unification theory of trolling and game.

Maybe IRT was on to something. Maybe the world isn't ready for his equation. In his world, the more you can troll, the better your game.

IRT might had some variables that were off, but it is clear that Tuthmosis was able to create a deeper connection with these women than most other men via what many consider trolling.

Here is Tuthmosis as Johnny 5, the hipster in the trucker hat is the feminists, Stephanie is ROK/manosphere:

It has been a real eye-opener to me to see just how venal and base the public really is. I always knew it in an abstract sense, but to see it actually play out before your eyes is a whole new dimension of understanding.

What I've noticed:

1) Educated 'Feminist' woman aren't strong, brave or independent. They're emotionally-fragile, easily-wounded and respond with hysterical anger due to the personal decision they've made of choosing to be offended. They have to stand against such offense as a group via sharing their offense, and then appeal as a group to a greater authority to take punitive action for them. How is this overreaction to simple words strong, brave or independent?

2) They're concerned with maintaining the performance that they're morally 'good' creatures for the approval of their social circle, but when inflamed, they instantly drop their guard and reveal the miserable, violent, souls they normally conceal. When they lash out in anger, they reveal how unhappy they truly are, which is why words are so damaging to them. Social Media is an enormous component of their fake personalities, and, since it's fake, offers them no real happiness, just validation. They're obsessed with measuring their self-worth through text, not real-world communication.

3) When offended, they'll also choose to share the misery, since they're not strong enough to stand alone, but they do this without any concern for the unhappiness they're spreading, particularly for vulnerable people in their circle. Aren't the women who shared this responsible for this going viral, and therefore greatly expanded the audience for the piece, and increasing the anger, tears and hysterical emotions that wouldn't have been unleashed if they'd just chosen not to be offended? Women really are terrible friends to each other. I wouldn't forward the link to a beheading video to my sister. Where's the common sense?

4) Educated women prefer to create content by reacting in opposition to unpopular thought rather than risk voicing original, (and therefore potentially-socially-unpopular), thought.

To be honest, I knew all this about women already, but I really hadn't realised the scope of Priviliged White Girl Unhappiness before and the media that has monetised keeping them outraged. They're easy to exploit, and it's the people who claim to be on their side doing it. Jezebel makes a lot more sense now. Keep them angry and unhappy against vague scapegoats, offer them a sense of elitist community, and rake it the advertising dollars.

Critics of cigarettes say the smoking is incidental, that all they are is a delivery system for an extremely addictive substance, nicotine. Thus you have captive customers who keep returning.

It would be quite logical to assert the jizzabelians are addicted to expressing moral outrage, ala keep returning.
