Just ordered 90 200mg tablets a few days ago, should be here next week!
@Sourcecode- interesting recommendation. I've tried basic piracetam in the past, it definitely works, but I found for me I needed very low dosages as it made me jittery and nervous. Most people report positive results from the racetam family of nootropics though.
Has anyone tried BODYQUICK? It's the stuff Tim Ferriss used to sell, he mentions it in 4HWW. Its really effective but in my opinion overpriced and you develop a tolerance to it very quickly.

for u guys in canada, all u have to do to get some modafinal is go to your doctor and complain about shift work sleep disorder or something similar. I got a 30 day supply for $40 to just check it out (without h insurance). That being said, I only ever felt the effects the first several days, a kind of clear energy that lasted most of the day, although it didn't really help me focus. After about 4 days on 200mg I can't even tell the difference between days when I take it and days that I don't. Thinking off trying out 300mg in a couple days..

Anyone ever try Adrafinil? It's metabolized in vivo to Modafinil and legal for purchase. Wondering if the effects are similar. Modafinil sounds great for focus, but I wouldn't risk buying it without a legitimate prescription.

You guys in the UK - where are you buying it from? UK based companies or are they based elsewhere?

Early Observations:
1. You're much more aware of your surroundings, people, objects, etc.
2. You can see much better, even things that are far away, you can see the details better, as if you were closer.
3. Your patience will be thin, no time for petty bullshit, wasting time on anything.
4. If you do anything athletic, you will be much more focused, will want to acheive whatever your goal is, you'll feel like a champion.
5. You'll feel as if there's no such thing as tired.
6. You'll feel as if there's no such thing as being lazy, you'll even handle little things that you'd normally skip doing.
7. You'll not only have a desire to be doing something at all times, but you'll actually want to spend time with people, if you can't hang with someone, you'll be more likely to pick up your phone, you'll just have a desire to be communicative with someone else.
8. You will think about food, maybe even prepare food, but something will keep you from eating it.
9. You're more willing to do things that you wouldn't normally do.

Does anyone take it? Is it as great as I am hearing, basically like a limitless drug? I have taken adderall, but I don't love it. Any Americans order it from overseas? From what I have read the biggest risk is a customs seizure. What are your experiences?
Its safer than amphetamine or Ritalin.
If you don't like the feeling of adderall, then don't expect to enjoy modafinil...its a stimulant but perhaps a bit safer/milder.
Don't combine it with other drugs and start with a low dose.
You can probably get a doctor to give you a prescription since its considered as low addiction potential. Just tell them you have fatigue and trouble staying awake.

I've got to get my hands on this stuff. Sounds like a more steady version of adderall. I liked addies but coming off it after a week was a bitch.

My half tab wore off by about 5PM after taking it at about 11AM. I had a feeling of wakefulness and ploughed through a bunch of tasks. Come 5, that was it, end of party.
Gonna try a full tab today. It's almost 8AM, I have been drinking since 9 last night and I have to get my truck fixed today.

Okay...Moda experiment starts today. Just took 100mg about an hour ago.
Feel weirdly focused. My mind is not wandering while doing my work, whereas normally it would and I would have to make a consistent effort to remain focused.
Already taken care most items on today's to-do list. It's only 9:17am...

quite a lot of disinformation and unrealistic expectations ITT. Modafinil removes your sense of being tired. That's it. You won't "feel different" other than not being mentally tired. It's not an amphetamine. It does its job. I suspect a lot of people who found it "did nothing" were expecting it to focus them or something like adderall, or buzz them like coke. It's not for that.

Tried to post this this morning but the internet crapped out on meh...
After 2 days of taking 100mg and one day off (today) I can report the following:
-Extremely enhanced ability to concentrate and focus. I was totally engaged in taking notes at a meeting while normally I'd be staring at a ceiling fan. The notes I took were much more organized and detailed as well.
-Felt very alert and awake. No jitters, no racing heartbeat, no "high"- just awake. Feeling lasted about 15 hours then began to fade, though both days I was awake 18-19 hours.
-Had urge to be "engaged" in something at all times. Did a lot of minor things I'd been procrastinating on.
-While it amplifies your focus, it also sort of shuts off your mind in other ways. I was completely immersed in the moment and the task at hand, no day dreaming. If you're a creative type like me, it will basically turn your imagination off. Not sure how I feel about that.
-Decreased emotions and sense of humor. Diminished ability to make abstract, nonsensical associations between things and ideas which is part of what constitutes humor. Social interaction was okay but just felt a little "off"...several times I thought "Is this what it feels like to have autism?"
-Slight headachey feeling at times
-I did NOT experience suppression of appetite that some people described. In fact, I became very irritable when I was hungry.
-Decreased ability to put up with BS from other people or technical problems at work.
Overall, I'd say modafinil is good to use strategically when you have a major task to deadline to meet. It definitely improved my performance at work but at the cost of...feeling like myself. I felt like a robot, just blasting from one task to another. It's kind of neat, but you know it isn't normal when it's happening. A very effective tool that I definitely would not use everyday.
------
PS-still looking forward to trying it before the gym or BJJ. Modafinil combined with physical exertion might be whole different experience

Went in for a check up, talked to my doc, and he discouraged me from trying any of these. He thinks that once I go down the rabbit hole it will be hard for me to come out and there is really no end point. His reasoning is that there are no long term effects studies, and he told me narcotics anonymous has blown up in size as a result of all of these, basically they are highly addictive and people move to higher doses and downers to come down. He said NA is full of doctors, lawyers, wall st types, etc, he said there isnt much difference from these or meth, doing bumps, etc, he said there really is not much difference at all from what he's seen.
This is one doctors opinion. He is my GP and a really smart guy who errs on the side of natural remedies and chinese medicine. I want to go find another opinion, but thought I would share here.
