Why does everyone bitch about her bad dancing, when people make movies like "Saw" about cutting human beings up to torture them, and THAT's not considered obscene or challenged?

Puritans.

The red pill analogy is taken from The Matrix, and the movie provides a good way to explain the difference between red pill and alpha.

Remember all those other people on the ship? They took the red pill. They see and understand reality for what it is. But they aren't alpha.

Morpheus and Neo took the red pill, and are also alpha.

Red pill describes the way you look at the world, alpha describes your actions and status in the world. There are plenty of guys who are red pill but not alpha, and also plenty of guys who are alpha but not red pill (also known as naturals).

Red pill = internal
Alpha = external

They are not the same.

Also, I find it find it pretty amusing that a poster with zero rep links me to a post by another guy with zerp rep as evidence for the definition of red pill and alpha. What will you link me to next, Lindy West on game? I suppose that is if you're not too busy trying to correct Peyton Manning on his throwing motion, or giving Warren Buffett some advice on stocks.

Someone should correct Manning's throwing motion, he rarely if ever throws a tight spiral, even in practice.

The thing that bothers me isn't her performance, it's that she has gotten so much publicity and attention while extremely talented artists struggle unknown by the thousands (millions?).

TornadoByProxy is right, the entertainment industry is all about shock and pushing the boundaries because this is the way the most money is made. For decades all of television (even including 'serious' fare like news shows) has been about being as controversial as possible without getting outright banned. Everyone (myself included) hates censorship, but consider the following. What would happen if the FCC were to relax restrictions on broadcasting - for example, regulating tv according to the rules of the porn industry? Would we be seeing brazzers every day on television?

The answer is no: we would be seeing extreme BDSM, pain, scat - stuff worse than 2girls1cup would comprise 50% of all programming.

I personally would not have any objection to this; I'd just turn the tv off. But consider: the stuff you see every day on television isn't a reflection of the real world; it's the 2girls1cup of the real world.

Saw is aimed at young adults and older with a clear rated R. Miley Cyrus is aimed at teenagers and possibly younger with her dancing with the giant teddy bears. Granted in a few years you might get saw level gore on the News and MTV.

I'm not even going so far as to say it's a cultural waymarker. Just criticizing the performance itself. If it signals anything, it's Miley's impending implosion as she follows in the footsteps of other burnout starlets like Lindsay Lohan and Amanda Bynes.

Having finally watched the video, the biggest cultural marker I noticed was the number of gargantuan women on her dance team. As for the rest, I saw Miley imitating Madonna without her gravitas, twerking without rhythm, aping the Blurred Lines models without their coy femininity, and wearing an outfit that made her body look weird. I did find the drugged-out teddy bears amusing, so I credit her artists for that.

Criticism and bitching are not the same thing. Saw earned lots of criticism. (Also, ridicule and bitching aren't the same either.)

Disney company raised an entire generation of young girls on Cyrus, made her their role model, and then turn her into a whore. Pretty nasty stuff for a company that use to have decent children's programming. This will create a whole new generation of hardened self-absorbed feminists who can stick out their tongues at each other. In the meantime, the men will be even further intimidated by sexual harassment laws and subject to immediate arrest by the state for ogling one of their overly sexualized sisters. You must lower your eyes when she sticks out her tongue. Women do what you will. Men don't rattle your chains.

Miley Cyrus is peak feminism.

This is what feminists have been striving for all these years - abandoning "traditional wholesomeness" for unchecked slutiness. She has millions of dollars, is young, and got a man. she "has it all" more so than Oprah or Sheryl Sandberg.

Whoa
Well said. Modern teen girls are weird batshit sluts. So dirty, that the boner you would normally get for an 18-year-old, droops and shrivels when you think of the STDs and stench.

Inevitable outcome of modern Feminism. You brainwash people with a hostile, self-destructive lifestyle, and they self-destruct, and it's not entertaining, just sad.

I'm not worried, eventually this will cause an American Man Diaspora, moving to places like eastern europe, and SEA. Or just refuse to get married/have kids.

the effect will be as similar as to Spain's "Brain Drain" when they kicked all the moors out of the country

As for the rest, I saw Miley imitating Madonna without her gravitas,

You've got something there... Madonna had something way beyond what MC does. It was a totally different story.. Madonna moved alone to Manhattan and although she had a supportive family ( she commented that her parents never yelled at her, were always kind) that doesn't nearly have the totally contaminating effect of being a millionaire at 16 which I assume MC was from Disney earnings ( even though they're held in trust.) It looks like Bieber who is suffering form the same early wealth-fame is equally socially tone-deaf. Even the rock stars of the 60s who got rich at 22-24 ( Hendrix) couldn't handle it.

18 is way too young to handle being a god.

The song from her album after Madonna's marriage dissolved was really sad, truly a good song.

MC seems like a garden variety emotionally sterilized lesbian. Being abused will fuck you up, but being totally, utterly spoiled, sexually, financially, and adoration-wise is no picnic either.

Forget the name, goes like:

"Maybe someday
When I look back I'll be able to say
You didn't mean to be cruel
Somebody hurt you too

You can't hurt me now
I got away from you, I never thought I would
You can't make me cry, you once had the power
I never felt so good about myself"

But I don't believe all this "culture is dying" stuff, human nature doesn't change--not at all, unless you look in time spans of millennia.

Different cultures grow and die like people, but they all go through the stages of ambition, power, arrogance, sloppiness and destruction. Then another
one starts the same process. You have to be old to have heard all the cries of dismay for decades, to realize they too never end and never change.

I agree. I think those types of movies are trash and they are a bad influence on society.

I advocate more sexuality, not more murder and torture.

I finally saw the show. Miley did give a terrible performance. Her handlers should also take some blame for allowing that.

I must day, I think the show really did a lot to help the cause of 30+ guys who target 18-22 girls.

Not only did 20yo Miley get sexual with 36yo Robin Thick, comedian Kevin Hart joked about Taylor Swift and Selena Gomex needing to stay away from Thicke and not try to fuck him.

The message was that a well dressed 36 year old man is fuckable. Millions of young girls watched the show and were influenced by this subliminal message. This was a good thing in my opinion.

Then Robin Thicke got photographed fingering a young groupie.

I also think that "Blurred Lines" video did a lot to advance the cause of older men seeking younger women.

These events teased the boundaries of taboo and sexual culture and I think the result is that more girls will be open to dating a man over 30. [Image: thumb.gif]

This is just strategy guys. She just wanted to lose her Disney card and she had to do the most outrageous and trashiest performance possible to make it happen. No doubt will Disney disassociate from her after that.

If you notice many kid artists have a hard time transitioning into being an adult artist, and often then not they try to do some stupid shit like this to make that transition. Same happened with Beiber. He doesn't fool me, he knew damn well he wanted to get caught smoking a blunt with a rapper.

Sadly white artists will always get a pass from things like this. If it was a black or Hispanic artist doing the same thing the media will go ham on them and quite possibly destroy their careers. Whenever a kid artist wants to transition he or she will try to get into trouble by going "black" or do something "ratchet", like beiber getting caught smoking weed with Twista and now Cyrus "twerking"

I predict that this will happen. Miley Cyrus will apologize and like always blame the "bad" people she hanged out with (in other words black) and say that she hanged with the "wrong" crowd and that the passed is the passed. I 100% believe that will happen and she will go on about her business.

Same thing can be applied to Kim Kardashian. She made a porno with a black rapper and her excuse was "Well, I hanged out with the wrong crowd, and I know what I did was wrong, but that was the past".

All these people know what they were doing.

There was a good article on judgybitch about this....

http://judgybitch.com/2013/08/28/miley-c...thicke-is/

Her argument is that it was intentionally that bad to make fun of the "right of passage" to a sex symbol that former disney stars are required to do.

It’s probably a whole lot of wishful thinking on my part to think Miley Cyrus just pulled off some very clever commentary on slut culture, but since I begin with the idea that women are actually intelligent and capable and self-aware, I can easily allow for the possibility.
