That's the wild thing about clever media manipulation-- everyone protests and complains about whoever they hate-- Miley, Obama, etc-- but by discussing them we are submitting to the dictated terms of the debate, and are inadvertently working for them.

Are we talking about some great jazz musician who really deserves attention? No. Instead it's "Miley's a slut!". Are we talking about some microlender that's mkaing things better for some poor village in the Andes? No, it's "Obama the secret Muslim."

It keeps our minds in their cages.

She comes off like a full-on dyke except for the nice figure. I used to think she was very attractive, now she talks in a gravelly voice and has very masculine, pugnacious body language. I mean, it's like she's trying to be attractive to men but I think she really doesn't like them too much, so it comes off as try-hard.
I think that's what bothers male observers so much- her grinding etc is superficially "sexy"; but is in actuality hostile aggression.

I haven't bothered to watch the Cyrus video but from the gifs I've "seen, simple, sensual, and feminine" aren't even close. Meanwhile: tasteless, crass, tawdry, ostentatious, flamboyant, overdone, showy, gaudy, garish... those seem apt.

Why are we wasting our time on a burlesque show? Because she's quite wealthy? Is that what makes it interesting? Strippers better looking than her dance all over the country-- why is she interesting and they are not? Is it our fascination with wealth and power?

The problem was her horrendous choice of outfit. I get that she was trying to pull of the look of the girls in the Blurred Lines video but man was that execution poor.
